Lovely venue sat in conservatory out back. We had our dog with us and they reserved a great table for us. Great food, good service by waitress. Definitely go again!

It’s a mixed bag. The food was wonderful, and being a ‘local’ we love the area, and the atmosphere of the pub. Service? In the most part was good. What made me give this a ‘3’ as opposed to a ‘5’ was the one lady, who may have been an assistant Manager perhaps, who just didn’t look like she wanted to be there. My husband and I moved tables because they were allowing a group of people to vape inside. I mentioned this to one wonderful member of staff who told this said lady, and she just shrugged her shoulders. She also came to take our empty plates away without a smile and with just a mumble. This pub could be so great, they just need to provide that extra customer service (in terms of brilliance) that they just don’t have.

We booked the 20 seat tiki hut in the garden to watch the rugby in the big screen in the hut. Sadly England didn’t win but the evening was just fab and everything lovely. The Canford staff are just great and the garden such a great place to meet friends and have fun. Friends also stayed in the hotel and have all raves about it.

We greatly enjoyed our stay, with good food, excellent helpful staff particularly the manager, Ross, who took us to the station when our Uber didn't arrive. Lovely room with comfortable bed. We look forward to coming here again.

Wonderful experience from check in onwards. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room exceeded expectations with everything you needed available. Lovely comfortable bed, enormous shower and feature bath tub in the bedroom. Fully stocked honesty bar including fresh milk. Everything replenished as needed. Breakfast was served in the sunny conservatory, with good choice of buffet and cooked. Would certainly recommend and we will return.

Food is generally good,service virtually non existent. Visited Easter Saturday,generally chaotic service both at bar and in restaurant. Ignored once we had our main course. Two drinks in nearly 3 hours,went to bar to pay for meal as staff serving seemed to have disappeared. Two staff members were having an intimate moment behind the bar as customers were waiting to be served.

Excellent cooked breakfast, buffet and service in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens which also has wonderful 'Zulu' Dining Huts - and great value! What's not to like? Paul G.

Disappointing. There were 5 of us for breakfast, and 4 of 5 had over-cooked eggs (including ‘dippy’ eggs). Only my husband had runny eggs and said his food was great. The coffees were not that warm either. Service was friendly, but we spent a lot of money for breakfast and it would have been much better at home.

Booked for Super Saturday Rugby with Good Friends. We all enjoyed the super table with super service and super food too. Thanks x

We decided to visit The Canford because our friend has a flat in Canford Cliffs and she wanted to go somewhere she'd not been to before.. we were very glad we did choose there because ,being a miserable Tuesday night we were not expecting much to be honest, but how wrong were good the food was lovely, we had a very warm welcome on arrival and our waiter Levi couldn't have been any more helpful or nicer, so, we will definitely go again.

We had a really enjoyable evening. Attentive staff, good service and tasty food . Prices very reasonable would recommend to everybody.

Tried to go here for dinner. Told the waiter one of us was allergic to nuts. He asked what nuts, we said any nuts. He brought us a glass of peanuts and spilt some of them on the table. He seemed really annoyed that we didn’t want them. He obviously couldn’t understand what we were telling him. We didn’t want to stay and eat after that so we went to the place up the road where they were much more helpful. This place is dangerous if you have an allergy.

Nice enough pub, nice garden, but poor food and service. I had to go to bar and order drinks as waiting so long. Ordered fish and chips which were very overcooked and chips tasted like oil needed a change. Cocktails were ok but pricey for being out of a can. Staff were friendly but took ages to take food order and yet restaurant practically empty. Very expensive for what was served I think the establishment may be experiencing identity crisis, is it a hotel, bar or restaurant as attention really needs to be paid to restaurant. Won’t be back I’m afraid.

Such a lovely visit to The Canford for my birthday. Attentive service and lots of great advice on good walks and places to visit near by, Sam behind the bar was great and Lara looked after us well. Terry the General Manager is extremely helpful, would very much recommend!

Business meeting, friendly staff and good drinks menu. Snacks were slightly limited on the day but a very good selection of mains. This is a regular haunt and we always enjoy our stay. Easy parking.

Would not normally leave a review but we had such an awful time when we ate here recently that we thought we should. The waiter got half our order completely wrong then the waitress was unable to find the manager for about 20 mins. When the manager was finally found it turned out to be the waiter that got our order wrong in the first place. He was a very angry and rude little man and he denied getting it wrong. Whole meal ruined ruined because of waiting time and attitude of the waiter/manager and we will not be back. Horrible experience because of horrible staff.

Food was nice and tasty. Portions were a little small 2 roast potato's, 1 carrot, 1 parsnip and a small selection of pork,chicken & beef. A larger plate of food would have complimented the price charged but the food served was nice and tasty.

Had a fantastic stay at The Canford for my partners birthday. The place is fantastic from start to finish…relaxed but classy, the food and drinks were excellent and the staff were fantastic. The Deputy Manager Sam, and Head Chef Lara deserve a special mention for making us feel so welcome.

The staff of a pleasant, but I had to ask to have order taken in the first place, then waited nearly 40 minutes fast to arrive and then nearly another hour for a main course to arrive, which for a quick evening meal took nearly 3 hours. Food was okay, but not very warm. I struggled to understand my place is like this make hospitality looks so hard.

The arrival and check in went very smoothly, and our room was beautiful. The evening meal experience was extremely embarrassing and stressful for us. It was worse than our experience at another Youngs pub, The Huntsman in Brockenhurst. Excuses, running out of food, and having to re-order. Extraordinary length of time to receive starters, but our main course never arrived...and we had been sitting at our table for over 2 hours... Abandoned and ignored, and staff nowhere in sight. We decided that enough was enough. I looked for staff to tell them we were leaving, but they had all gone AWOL. We walked past the bar, the reception area and up to our room. No staff in sight. No staff contacted us subsequently to ask where we were as our meals were ready. No manager came to apologise, acknowledge the situation, or to explain the delay to us. As we left and went to drop our room key cards, we got the impression the staff were glad to get rid of us. Youngs outlets simply do not deliver what is promised. I will not recommend Youngs to anyone.

The worst New Year’s Eve I have ever experienced! Absolutely dreadful food - and promised music - chap who could not sing to save his life came at 10:30 ish and left at one minute past midnight !!!!!!!!! Absolutely awful

We found the food to be overpriced, and very poor quality. I had the whole plaice which was served with blood coming out of the gills and fish was so dry it was inedible. We were the only ones eating that night in the restaurant. We had to wait an hour to be served. There were no sauces available with the steaks. A side of new potatoes worked out at £1 per potato. Very disappointed will not be returning and will not recommend the restaurant.

Excellent food and service, the waiter could not have been more helpful. My mother-in-law is quite deaf, so I requested a quiet table - we sat in the conservatory so could see the Christmas lights. She loved it.
