Went here for a Sunday roast as we’ve been here before unfortunately the following happened - The staff got our order mixed up so one person in our group had food 15 minutes before ours came out - Rest of the food came out and one plate didn’t have roast potatoes. When asked why they pointed to the “extra” potatoes we ordered on top and they said they put them all in one bowl.A plate comes with 4 potatoes and the bowl they gave us came with 4??.So the extra potatoes were none existent, even the staff couldn’t explain - Potatoes weren’t cooked properly and were raw - Manager clearly wasn’t notified of anything as he came round and joked that our friend must’ve loved his food if his plate was empty and ours was full.Didn’t lift our spirits We would come for drinks again but not a roast

The Pilot became our 'local' whist attending a 2 week conference in Chiswick. Very good traditional pub with a well kept pint of London Pride and other beers. I had my 50th birthday here and booked their private function room, VIP area and secret garden. The team were lovely and all the guests were very impressed. Confirmation of booking and paying the deposit along with pre-ordering food and drink got a little more complicated than it needed with the change over of Management (twice) from time of booking to the time of the party. Buffet food was very good as were the range of drinks. My only negative, watch out for the service charge they put on the bill when setting a tab up. I should have checked when I settled the bill. I was stung for over £330 service charge. They added this to the entire bill which included people ordering from the bar!

I attended a function in the Wellesley room which is a former carriage house and has a nice atmosphere. It's a good size for a site down meal for 30 people. The food was good but they struggled with service and it came out in dribs and drabs. The gentleman who was looking after us was very nice. There were staff from the kitchen helping out with service and they were a bit scruffy. A dress code would elevate the experience significantly. Parking is tricky in Chiswick but the various parking websites have options. Best to get that tee'd up in advance. A good space, decent food, slightly let down by service not in their attitude which was great but their ability to deal with a private function and the busy pub.

Luton Town fan. Visited on 2 December 2023 before and after Brentford v Luton game. Loved it! Superb atmosphere, fans of both clubs were there, all mixing and chatting. It was very busy, but bar staff were on top of it, quick, helpful, and polite, I didn't have to wait too long for drink or food. I wish I could have stayed longer but the match and strike affected train service got in the way. Beer was tops, for me anyway, decent selection. Another nice touch was the doorman opening the door to meet and greet, and let people out, had a quick chat with him, gave me directions to the stadium which is a short walk, 10 minutes or so. Really enjoyed it, definitely recommend a visit based on my experience.

I ordered Fish and Chips, which cost £18.95. The fish was either overcooked, or cooked in very old oil, or both. You could tell the chef knew because they presented the fish "upside-down, with the skin side facing up, because that was less burnt. You can see in the photo of the batter I didn't eat how dark it is. It tasted very burnt. I told the staff, who apologised but were very uninterested. Additionally no-one came to our table to clear the plates; I had to take my plate up to the bar to get rid of it after about 15 minutes of waiting.

We attended a Birthday Party here, we were lucky to find a parking space right outside. I had a look at the Drinks Menu via the Internet before we came. The Drinks Menu on the Internet advertises Pol Roger Champagne at £ 67 a bottle, so we had quite a few bottles, only to find out that the actual price was £ 83 per bottle and not as advertised on their Drinks Menu. If prices have increased, they should update their Website. Other than that, it was a fantastic evening, food and service was good, and the Wellesley Room was ideal for our Party. Nice place!

I had a generally pleasant experience at the pub, with great drinks and friendly staff. The drinks in the bar were very nice, and I personally liked the Bloody Mary a lot. However, I was quite disappointed to see the russian flag on display. The pub claims to be LGBTQ+ friendly, but the display of the flag from a country which promotes homophobic policies is very insensitive and contradictory to this claim. I hope the pub can reconsider its choice of displaying the russian flag and take actions to better align with its LGBTQ+ friendly stance

Looking for somewhere local to Brentford, but accessible to guests coming from further afield, my fiancé and I booked the Wellesley Room at The Pilot for our engagement party for around 65 guests (held on 16 September 2023). We'd already been to The Pilot before at various points in our lives with each other or with friends, and we knew we liked it as a pub, so it was nice to discover the function room. Even with minimum input from us with regards to how we wanted the room set up, the events staff at The Pilot quite clearly have a knack for this sort of thing. We arrived on the day to find some tables and chairs put out and arranged in such a way that those of our guests who couldn't be on their feet for too long had somewhere to sit down, with with more than enough ample seating out in the covered outdoor area that comes reserved as part of booking the Wellesley Room. The Pilot were able to provide festoons of fairy lights, which were all around the room and just perfect for the event, and there were enough points in the beams and walls where our own decorations could be hung up. As a Brentford fan, we wanted to be sure to be able to watch the match that day too - not a problem as there was a large TV in the room with Sky Sports and TNT Sports. Music later on we were able to put on ourselves with the Bluetooth speaker system available in the room (which staff will show you how to set up when you arrive). There is no hire fee, which is really good, just a minimum spend, and if booking over the weekend then expect to pay a £100 deposit to secure the room on a particular date, which is more than reasonable given the location of the pub and the size of the function room. The food options if you require catering are really good and even two weeks on from the event, our friends and family are telling us how much they enjoyed the buffet that we were able to arrange with the in-house catering (the Yorkshire puds were the firm favourite), with options available for all dietary requirements. We were allowed to bring in our own (shop-bought) cake and staff had a fridge where this could be safely stored until needed. It really was the perfect day. There's so much I want to say about it, but if you are local and considering space to hold a function, then we can highly recommend the Wellesley Room. We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ian at The Pilot, who went above and beyond that evening; he looked after us, our families and our friends on the evening to the point that we all considered him a very important person at the party – we honestly owe so much to him for making our engagement party the success that it was. It really was the perfect day, and there was no request too big for staff during the planning stages, or for Ian and his staff on the day. Thank you again to all at The Pilot for giving us a space to make memories that many of us will treasure for years to come!

What a total disappointment! Dinner with my 2 adult sons. Roast beef all round ordered, only 1 beef left we was told. The more need available, so two beef one pork ordered. The pork ok the two beef so raw, so taken away and new plates served. This time with Bisto gravy and beef curled up from over cooking and tough as old boots. On to dessert, I ordered macerated strawberries with burnt meringue and vanilla cream. What was served was 5 strawberries cut up, the only Maceration was water, the meringues broken up shop bought served with squirty cream! When I enquired the only explanation given was the cream was Vegan! Nothing like described on menu (sticky toffee pudding I was told ok) £66 of total disappointment and family dinner a disaster, never again!

I was cycling past in the morning on a 14 mile bike ride and saw this quirky little corner pub on the hottest day of the year! I had to stop for a quick drink and the team were very nice and friendly and served me quickly. I sat in the micro garden at the front and enjoy a nice chat with another customer who had the same idea of being out. On the way back (Saturday night) I stopped off again and this time it was much busier with a friendly crowd- I got served quickly again and then sat around the side of the pub where they’ve got some benches kind of built of brick where it was quiet. I didn’t try the food but it was busy and I’m sure it’s a nice. One thing to watch out for is security as when I sat quietly drinking my pint and I saw a young kid with his face covered cycling past looking into cars with a flashlight. He was clearly looking for valuables to steal - I shouted him away but I’m sure that won’t be a deterrent- it would be great if the pub at cctv that covered this angle as well so people parking their cars can feel safe as well.

Hugely disappointed with our experience here today. Service was shocking, food average at best. Despite being really quiet we waited over 40 mins for 2 roasts and a chicken pie. Ordered a second round of drinks which honestly the drinks sat on a tray on the bar counter for 10 mins and which I ended up collecting myself. The meal itself was very average, saved by a lovely properly hot gravy. Two staff on duty, not remotely interested — 3.20pm — one of them sat down in the bar with a chef for his lunch and the other had his lunch behind the bar whilst serving customers. No one checking restaurant customers. We’d been waiting 20 mins for the one dessert we’d ordered — Lemon Tart — but choose to cancel as it clearly wasn’t going to be coming any time soon and we were running out of time. Finally the ladies & gents toilets which are located in the basement were out of order — instead of putting a sign at the top of the stairs they allowed customers to go down to discover the toilets were out or order.

Great pub which I last visited many years ago when a girlfriend of mine lived nearby. Now, in 2023, I'm living in the area and it's taken some time before I've gone back as there are plenty of other distractions nearby. Well worth visiting. Staff were charming and helpful and as I was not fully mobile was allowed to use disabled toilet upstairs to avoid a steep flight of stairs down to the regular facilities. Food and beer were high quality and the whole place light and airy. There is plenty of outside space but on this visit I didn't use it or check it out. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

I don’t normally write reviews but I enjoyed this place so much. I was with my wife, two grown up daughters and one of their partners. We booked a table before and after watching London Irish play at the community stadium. We had lunch and drinks before the game then dinner and a few more drinks after. The food was incredible and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning when we are in London for the Rugby 👍

Really nice garden to sit outside and eat or have a pint. Went for lunch and had the burger which was also pretty good. This place is a little out of the way so it's quiet and comfortable during the week and on the weekends when there is not a Brentford Bees game on. Great place for a pint either way.

£3.40 for a half pint of coke. Double checked with staff member and he showed me on the screen that I was being ripped off. No more to be said..

How can you charge £3.40 for a half coke. Shameful. Verified by member of staff when checked on system

Friendliest staff ever, great beers, lovely location, cozy, nice kitchen (way above pubs average), fantastic patio. On Sunday it is awesome for families. What else can I say? Maybe they should reward me with a pint after this review. 😅

We had a good lunch, thank you. Some people said the Yorkshire puddings were cold and we would have liked less meat and more vegetables please!

Visited this local for an anniversary and so wanted it to be perfect and supporting local businesses.. Great table inside main bar but the food was a let down. £25+ for a Sunday roast on the expensive side. At 230PM no lamb available I had the duo Beef/chicken but without the giant Yorkshire pudding very little meat but plenty of veg. Asked for horseradish but there was none available. (theres a Sainsbury's across the road) ? Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Peroni nice and wines by the glass fine. All in all okay but left me feeling try somewhere else next time.
