Found this by accident after doing the Cable Car across the Thames. Turned up without a reservation and staff VERY accommodating for myself, wife and 3 kids for dinner. Wife and I had the fish supper (that’s fish and chips for the English) stunning - loved the curry sauce along with tartare sauce and mushy peas. Wife had an excellent glass of NZ Sav. Kids meals superb and come with a side of veg. Would throughly recommend.

Walked in around 12.40, midweek lunchtime, looking forward to a few pints of Fullers London Pride. It's a Fullers pub so appeared to have the range of Fullers beers. "Two pints of London Pride please." Barman ...... "I'm sorry, none of our cask beers are on, but there's lager. Odd that none were on, and then to think a beer drinker would switch to fizzy lager is surprising. Then it became apparent.... A chap who I assume was the manager said "we're just cleaning the pipes through. It should be about another five to ten minutes." I'm not really going to sit around for a hopeful five/ten minutes.....when is that ever true? Left disappointed. Oh for the days when pubs would clean the pipes in the morning and be ready to serve customers in a timely fashion when the pub opened. Perhaps nobody from the pub is there early enough these days. Won't be going back any time soon. Reading another recent 2024 review, it sounds like they can't really be bothered by serving customers.

Four of us ate here recently and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent, very fresh and plenty of it. The fish and chips were fantastic and so were the pies. The restaurant is lovely and we ate inside but then sat outside to have our coffee and more drinks. It feels like old London with the pretty cottages in the same row like stepping back in time until you look up and see all the high rise flats overwhelming the area. We would definitely recommend and definitely return.

Went for lunch today, had booked a table for 3. Turned up and went to the bar where they had multiple staff standing around and no one greeted us. Eventually someone came over, didn’t say hello or anything, so we said we have a table booked for 3. Didn’t have table ready (had booked 3 hours before) took us up to terrace to what was clearly a table for 2, told them it’s for 3 and they just put a chair on one side of the two seater table. We said this wasn’t enough room, the waitress just stood there in silence? We ended up going down to the garden to a booth but the service the whole lunch was just appalling, not one person seemed to enjoy being there at all, not one smile from ANY of the staff, seemed to be annoyed any time we asked for a drink/to order food etc. The only thing that turned around our experience was the roasts we had which were delicious, so our only compliments today are for the chefs. Very disappointing.

We stopped in here for drinks on our way to a gig at the O2. Good selection of drinks and great outdoor seating areas at both the front and rear of the pub. Would recommend a few drinks in here at "normal" London prices before you get into the O2.

Absolutely no regrets about booking this hotel! Absolutely ideal location if you’re seeing a show at the o2 as it’s a very short walk just across a nice little park area. It’s also very quiet and in a nice area near the docks yet transport links still make it super simple to get into the heart of london. The rooms were lovely and clean, the staff friendly and efficient and the food was exceptional. It’s a nice old fashioned pub with lots of character and much nicer than staying at a chain. The pub was busy while we were there showing it’s a popular choice. Would not hesitate to come back!

Very friendly waiter - the food was good and came out quickly despite the pub being extremely busy. Nice decor and garden area - the fact that quite a few of the garden tables had not been cleared did detract from this though as there was some rubbish visible - this seems to be a common problem when eating out at the moment due to most pubs/restaurants seeming slightly understaffed. Fabulous location - right by the O2 but somehow manages to not feel like a fast food/chain option. I'd definitely eat here again and try to stay in one of the rooms if staying in the area overnight.

Booked quite a whole in advance. On arrival it was bedlem as it was one of the first warm nights. We were shown to our table that still had glasses on and 5 chairs instead of the 6 I had booked. But. Once the waitress began it all got better. Our food was pretty good, service was good and we had a lovely table outside. So the bad beginning was soon forgotten. Though, as it now normal in London, 27 pounds was added to our 222 pound bill which i think is a big tip for a pub.

I’m a bit of a pub aficionado when I’m in the United Kingdom and I prefer to seek out the older and more historic venues. We’re staying in Greenwich in a wonderful Airbnb near the O2 and I was looking for a place to have a pint that wasn’t too far afield. There are at least 3 pubs in Greenwich that I found but this was the closest. First off, it looks like a bit of history that remained untouched as the areas around it were gentrified and tall buildings constructed with £500k+ condos for sale. The minute you walk in you know you’re some place older and unique. The decor takes you back 200 years and the pub / restaurant is larger than you’d expect. With a garden patio secluded in the back and a terrace overlooking it, there were several outside seating options to choose from. Ordering a pint and meal were as easy as pointing my phone at the QR code on the table. The contactless systems in place now makes it all simple and the ale arrived quickly. The staff was friendly and very helpful; I insisted on tipping though they politely tried to talk me out of it (I forget that servers in the UK actually make a livable wage in comparison to the United States).I’ll be back to have a pint.

Called early in the day to book a table for Sunday lunch for 4pm. We arrived early to be told that they’ve sold out of roast dinners. The waitress then said she needed to check with the manager if there is any other food unavailable. She took us to our table only to find 4 people sat there. At that point we gave up and went elsewhere. A real shame as the menu looked nice and the pub seemed good. It’s a shame the staff let us down. When you plan lunch with a young family you don’t expect to be walking out of a pub without eating. Surely if you’re a waitress you need to know what food is available. They definitely need to train this member of staff, I felt sorry for her really as from the original call to book to arrival and trying to seat us, it really didn’t appear that she had a clue. Also worth informing customers if you’re likely to run out. If we’d have known we could have gone earlier ( there was availability earlier)

My parents and I stayed for three nights at the Pilot Inn. We we're there to visit the Emirates experience nearby. We happened to be staying at the same time as the Euro final between England and Italy, so we anticipated some noise which was easily heard from my room on the first floor. But that didn't spoil our stay. The pub is old and has very old corridors, stairways and doors. As I'm a larger man with mobility issues, I found it quite difficult to navigate around comfortably. But as we had to change hotels last minute, in addition to age of the building I made do. One thing that spoilt the stay for me was my bed. At the Pilot Inn all beds are metal framed, which I didn't like as I'm quite tall, the major issue I had was the boards of my bed continuously become dislodged. Even when I just sat on the edge of the bed, the boards would shift and I would fall through. At one point my elderly father insisted on fixing it, by crawling under the bed and using a shoelace of mine, to prevent it from shifting. Other than that the stay was fine, food and drink was acceptable as standard pub food, but, what made the stay for me was the fact my room had air conditioning.

At first it went great, great table service from the waiters! Came to the end of our time at our table, the waitress told us to ask the manager for another potential table (we were ready to leave regardless). We went inside to find the manager, he came up to us very rudely and abruptly said that we couldn’t be inside with glasses (we were not made aware of this and were there to ask a question...). He did not give us any chance to ask him and he poured our drinks and practically shoved us outside, we were not giving any hassle whatsoever. Just made the experience completely uncomfortable and it is such a shame, because I have never had this experience there. Shame on the manager, great staff!

We picked this for one night as we were visiting the o2 and it looked quirky & interesting as well as being a stone’s throw from the event. It certainly is quirky & a very interesting building. We were greeted enthusiastically and shown to our room, number 5. Whilst it was only small, it had everything necessary - a comfy bed, Nespresso machine, kettle, choice of teas and good quality shortbread biscuits. Like the bedroom, the shower room was spotless with a large shower cubicle and a powerful shower and really big fluffy towels. Unfortunately, the loo seat was split and wasn’t very comfortable nor particularly hygienic. I’m hoping it’s been fixed since we were there as it was a bit of a let down for an otherwise first rate property. We wanted to eat before leaving for the o2 but were too early for the main menu so ordered some bar snacks which were very tasty and extremely reasonably priced. After a good night’s sleep, we were rudely awoken around 5am by a lot of noise coming from the bar area beneath us which sounded like a full scale rearrangement of furniture and went on for ages so there was no more sleep. Breakfast was a treat with really good, high end yogurts, croissants, fruit and a huge range of cooked options. The flat white I had from the bar was one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Would we stay again and would we recommend? A resounding ‘yes’ to both, though not room 5!

We stayed at the Pilot Inn for one night and thought it was quaint, comfortable and well equipped. The bed and pillows were great, the bathroom was spotless and had all of the miniature toiletries that one could wish for (use of small plastics aside). Inside the rooms, there were coffee/tea facilities, TV, air con, etc. The only downside was that you can hear everything outside the room as people go up and down stairs to other rooms. We ate a meal in the restaurant at supper. This was typical pub food and was fine but not brilliant. Would, however, eat here again. The service was good. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold foods served quickly. All in all, would definitely stay here again if in the Greenwich area. Overall, this was great value and highly recommend.

We went here on Valentine’s Day, hoping for a romantic lunch. We were very disappointed. The building is lovely and quirky and the staff were friendly. However, the food left a lot to be desired, as did the service. We ordered the sea food sharing platter and two sides (chips and broccoli). We had a fairly long wait for our food, which would have been fine, but when the food finally came, the sea food platter came on its own (despite the server repeating several times when we ordered that we wanted everything together). What’s more, the platter came without any butter for the toast or any tartare sauce for the cod. There also were no plates to start with. The server went to get us some plates and came back with tiny tea plates! She did als if we wanted bigger plates. We should have been braver and said ‘yes, please’, but we bottled it. We did ask for butter with the toast and asked if there should have been sauce with the seafood platter. The server (a third one) looked at us with a puzzled look on his face as if we’d asked something strange. He offered us mayonnaise or ketchup. I suggested that this sort of platter would normally have tartare sauce with it. He said he’d go and ask in the kitchen (the menu does mention tartare sauce). By the time we finally were given butter and sauce and the sides had arrived, the seafood platter was basically cold. The calamari looked distinctly undercooked and still tasted floury when eaten. The prawns tasted weird and were mushy. The smoked salmon was nice, though, but £17 for a bit of smoked salmon seems rather expensive. The sides were lovely. The chips were good and the broccoli with garlic butter was perfectly cooked.

My daughter had an interview near to the O2 in the north Greenwich peninsular and this was one of the nearest hotels. Our stay exceeded our expectations. We knew the rooms were going to be small, but they were very cleverly fitted out and we appreciated all the little extras such as a coffee machine, with capsules and milk and sugar, a kettle with a selection of teas, bottles of water and biscuits and shampoos, conditioner and body wash. The rooms were charmingly decorated with a nautical theme and were spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and there was also air conditioning which would be very useful in the summer months. The Pilot is a pub so there was some buzz from the patrons but this stopped at 11pm. Breakfast had a particularly good selection of cooked options. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The reception area is in the pub to the left as you go in and can be easy to miss if the pub is busy. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Considering how much we paid for this room, it was very disappointing. The room was sold as a superior double, in my opinion, it was anything but. The room suffered from poor lighting, there was no hot water from the hot water tap in the hand basin, the window blind did not work properly and opening and closing the window was a challenge. The generators at the back appeared to switch on and off during he course of the night. The full English breakfast was poor with lukewarm eggs, an anaemic looking sausage and streaky bacon that was barely warmed through. On the plus side, the towels were soft and the mattress was firm.

I really cannot understand a business that spends most of its time saying no. This was my 3 rd visit and last. For some insane reason on a beautiful sunny winters day, you are not allowed to eat outside ( even if you carry it yourself). The pub inside was too hot and there was hardly anyone there, but there was plenty of staff so they couldn’t blame that. So this stupid rule and attitude let them see our business walk out and go back to Greenwich where every business let’s you eat outside. ( and why on earth wouldn’t they). It’s things like this that annoy customers so much they don’t go back.

Had pre-concert dinner here recently, very limited menu-choice with several items not available that can't be good at the start of a whole evening. Opted for fish and chips which was cold. So recommend for pre-concert drinks but would skip on the food.

A really cosy pub surrounded by new buildings .It felt almost like going back in time.Very cosy with various rooms to sit in.No main meals before 6pm,but we had a plentiful bowl of hummus and warm flatbread and a generous bowl of chips and a very nice cider..We were glad we found it rather than eating in the overcrowded restaurants in the O2

Went in for a couple of drinks and ended up eating, the squid was a bar snack and was the best I have had in this country. Very friendly and good service. Spitting distance from the O2 but a whole world away in character.

We used to eat here years ago but it went downhill. However, we were in the area and fancied a roast so decided to try it again. Pleased to say the food (Sunday roast) is back up to standard. The pub has been refurbished and looked good. Efficient friendly service and a good choice of craft beers & wine available. Now that we know it is back to the standard we used to enjoy, we will go more often. Highly recommend. Five minute walk from the o2.

Cosy room but had to keep en suite door closed becausecof the smell. Plumbing problem or the river? Breakfast buffet a bit disappointing. Good location fof O2 though.

Lovely welcome on arrival, shown to our room and everything explained. Permit given for the car for free parking which is a huge bonus. Small quirky room called the captains cabin perfect for one night supplied with slippers, toiletries and tea and coffee. Lovely Dyson fan kept us cool overnight. Less than 10 minute walk to the O2 which you can see from the front of the hotel. Great choice of breakfast, cooked fresh to order and we were able to book for a night next year whilst having breakfast and got 15% off. Only one niggle and that was we couldn’t get anything to eat as due to traffic in central London we arrived after the kitchen had closed at 15:00. Would definitely recommend.

I have lived just 2 minutes walk from this place for almost 3 years. Finally I walked in and it was great. Really cosy and quirky. Staff are cool and friendly. Food is great! Can't wait for my next day off to return.

I love the Pilot, have been comimg to the pub on and off for years. Whilst the decor got cleaned up and flats were built up around it, the food menu has sort of erased itself. There is nothing exciting on this menu apart from 5 mediocre items. I really like this pub for its clean and cozy ambience but it makes you question why the mangers do not want to expand their menu to cater for locals and tourists? Stick some pies on, some steak, some chicken! I mean why bother employing two chefs otherwise?

They now issue parking ticket to CUSTOMERS drinking at the pub. I was only there for an hour, now have to deal with courts etc. Contacted the manager and they gave me a load of flannel... Not worth the risk, used be a decent pub for drinks although the food was always roopy...

We stayed here for the proximity to the O2. We received a warm welcome and even though the pub downstairs was very busy we were dealt with very quickly. Excellent quirky room. Breakfast was included and was made to order. Parking outside is limited but we were able to park here on a Friday night. After the gig we were able to walk back (5mins) and avoid all the traffic which was at a standstill. Would definitely recommend but it wasn’t cheap £220 for B&B.; The manager was excellent and made us feel welcome

What a lovely pub. Hidden away and not easy to walk to. Not the place you will stumble on, you’ve got to know it’s there and look for it.

What a find! Would never have come across this glorious haven on an unassuming main road through the Greenwich Peninsula without the knowledge of a family member staying locally, but now we know it’s there will definitely be returning.

A good selection of beers and wines. Very friendly staff. We can't comment on food as we had eaten elsewhere before we discovered The Pilot, but the menu looked interesting.

We stayed at the Pilot for 2 nights while we attended an event at the O2. The room was small but had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and cheerful while giving excellent service. Great place to stay. Beer and food make it a place we will certainly visit again.

I got the recommendation, fish and chips with london pride buttered mix. Grassy, oiled, I barely could end it. I ask for replace the mishy peas for more chips and they agreed. Obviously, I received the mushy peas and no extra chips. But I have to say the chips, if were less grassy, would be kind of good.

Love this gastro pub with its newly refurbished gardens and balcony. However on this visit the kitchen was closed, due to no gas? Only thing on offer was cold sausage rolls and scotch eggs.

Pub looks really appealing from outside and has a nice feel inside. Food and service sadly weren’t very good. Staff could have been happier. We both had a chicken burger. Fries were good. Burger was disgusting and disappointing. The chicken was really greasy, fatty and as though cheap cuts had been used, stuck together and cooked in old oil. I felt a little sick after and couldn’t eat it all. Gratuity is included in the bill.

I recently visited Wetherspoons Cutty Sark and placed an online order (Order #397216) to my table. However, the staff member at the till—a lady with glasses—insisted that I carry the items to my table myself. Despite explaining that the order included seven glasses and was too heavy, she still made me carry half of it. This behavior was not only unprofessional but also felt discriminatory, as I strongly believe she treated me this way because I am not British. Such treatment is unacceptable and goes against the customer service standards one expects. Extremely disappointed with this experience.

A Greene King pub overlooking the river. It is quite large with some great views. They had three cask ales and one cider, I opted for an IPA at £6.10. Unlike IPA's from other breweries the Greene King one is not overpowered by hops. It was not busy at 2.15pm on a Friday. They do offer a food menu (I was here mid November and they had just introduced their Christmas menu. Lookout for their special "double up" offer on spirits e.g. single Jameson whisky at £6.40, a double at £9.40. In summary, another nice Greenwich pub.
