Second time returning and blown away !! Stunning seaside views; friendly staff; and AMAZING food. This is a new family favourite spot and we are so grateful to the staff for this great experience. We received fast service both times . Everything was perfect from the mozzarella and chicken bites to the burgers and dessert. Best burgers I have had !

Excellent steak cooked perfectly! Thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere, service was brilliant too i would definitely recommend to friends and family

Inexpensive, good pub food, perfect after a day’s walking. If you are looking for fine dining this is not the place for you but if you want good service, pleasant staff, a choice of pub food classics served hot and good sized portions then this may well suit. We were here early April and ate here 3 times. Suspect it will be hard to get a table without pre booking once the season gets going

Great spot !! I came for dinner and had an absolutely amazing burger. The homemade sauce was great and so was the customer service ! People were very nice and I had a good view through the window of the sea. I also had dessert and I definitely recommend the dark chocolate and mint tart !

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Food was amazing and looked just as good, the staff were so nice and greeted us with smiles. I highly recommend the cheese burger as it was absolutely amazing and you can also get great vegetarian options. The views of the sea were amazing and the place was very clean xxx

Exceptionally poor service, for a pre-booked table. It took in excess of an hour to have order brought to the table, and even then one meal was never arrived despite several requests. To make matters worse the young female member of staff was rude, utterly baligerant, and totally non-apologetic, even blaming us the customers for not pre-ordering the food - it was breakfast for goodness sake!! I will not give this establishment my custom at any point in the future. Ergo, use this establishment at your own risk!!

Excellent service and welcome provided by the team on Christmas Eve. Colin was especially welcoming and made us feel very special. Lovely atmosphere and food decent for the price. Able to take our dog in which makes all the difference

Great hotel with a very easy check-in. Wonderful staff who were so helpful. Great views of the bay and parking was easy. The food was plentiful and tasty, with a good menu. I recently stayed at Hotel Penwig and had an exceptional experience! The rooms were of a very high standard—clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Every detail in the room made my stay feel extra special and relaxing. The food at the restaurant was equally impressive. Each meal was delicious, with fresh ingredients and great flavors, making dining there a real treat. The variety on the menu and the quality of the dishes were outstanding. The combination of top-notch accommodation and excellent dining makes Hotel Penwig a fantastic place to stay. I’ll definitely be recommending it to others and look forward to visiting again soon!

The staff great. However the food, was flipping terrible. The chips and peas were cold the pie looked like it was over cooked. Had to break in the pie. My wife asked for well done steak . The steak was red. Obviously she did not eat the steak. Such a waste of money. We were regulars. We will not be returning.

A warm friendly family pub. Loved the layout of the bar and the serving area. A great variety of meals on the menu. A great selection of drinks at the bar including a good selection of Alcohol Free drinks. Service was great, even during busy times. Great views of the bay from the windows and the seated area outside the pub. Over the week we spent in New Quay, we visited this establishment twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits.

Great spot to take a min and chill. Can get very busy but the team try their best to keep up and keep everyone happy. They sell brains ales and brains larger.

Absolutely awful- don't waste your money. The staff were rude, the food was cold and half of the stuff which was mentioned on the menu was missing. I think the picture of the lettuce below says it all. If I could give zero stars I would, so disappointing. The only redeeming feature was the view. I don't think I have ever written a review whilst being at a venue before but this was just dreadful, never again!

Spent one night here in July. Spacious room with the addition of a fan, really thoughtful on a rare hot day in Wales. Our room was at a very reasonable price. Staff helpful and friendly. We will be back.

Just returned from a lovely week in New Quay! Came here every day for a drink and to enjoy the view! Ate here too and enjoyed the pie night deal! All staff very friendly especially Lynne and Stewart! See you next year!

This pub is usually nice. This time we were surrounded by flies and couldn’t enjoy our meal because of them. Moved twice and still had flies flying around.

Come here every time I visit New Quay. Friendly service and great food partnered with a great choice of alcoholic drinks on the bar. Thank you for looking after us again.

After ordering 4 x adult breakfast and 1 x child breakfast, we were a little disappointed the time we were having to wait - unfortunately when the breakfast arrived all were very cold and arrived with no eggs - The breakfast were sent back to the kitchen to be surprised as they were returned a couple of minutes later again with no eggs and still cold. The one star is for the manager who agreed to refund. If they can't get breakfast correct I wish anyone good luck with lunch or dinner.

Went for lunch, was told a 40 minute wait when ordering which was ok but actually took over 1hr 15 minutes. Chips were stone cold, when I approached the waiter to let him know he just asked what table number. Few minutes later shoved a dish of chips on the table and left, no apology or acknowledgment - lasagne was nice but would not recommend

We came here at lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon and were easily able to book a table online for the time we wanted the evening before. Our table was reserved for us with no issues. The bar and restaurant areas were lovely and we were seated at a table that had beautiful sea views. The food here is reasonably priced. Our starters arrived promptly and were enjoyable. We had a bit of a longer wait for our mains, but nothing unreasonable. I had the vegetarian chilli with pilau rice which was delicious ~ I would have just preferred that the nachos and guacamole/salsa/sour cream had been served separately rather than being put in altogether! I was impressed by the over 5’s children’s fish finger meal as my son was served 4 lovely, fresh fish fingers with chips and peas. Overall, a beautiful place with stunning views serving pretty good food at very reasonable prices considering it’s touristy position.

Went for lunch, 3 of us and 2 dogs, really welcoming. Food was really good, 2 of us had the pie and chips which was delicious and my daughter had the chicken burger that she said was really tasty. Couldn't fault anything.

Popped in for a drink which was nice, seen the breakfast menu and decided to go the next morning. Kids breakfasts were very good value for money. Adults not so much. Seems to be a big baked bean shortage. I don't usually count my beans but 24 beans on a vegan breakfast was not great. There were more on the kids breakfast. Also the 'smashed avocado' was just guacamole from a tub.

Lovely helpful staff,(guy in loud shirt & ponytail) food arrived very quickly. Desert seemed forgotten took a long while to arrive but was worth the wait. The cod & chips was really good, 2 main courses 1 desert plus tonics & cola was about £32. Beautiful view from the outside dinning area. Lots to like & above average pub grub. Can’t wait to return.

We ate here every day on our trip to New Quay because it was great value with a fantastic view of the harbour. Every meal was what we expected and the team went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our food and drink. The staff clearly work very hard but you could see that they remained happy and cheerful throughout. Thanks for looking after us on our anniversary trip.

A beautiful destination set in New Quay, overlooking the most wonderful views watching the boats come in and out. The food was good and the range of drinks great. Staff friendly and service was good. Sat outside in the beer garden later in the evening having a nice bottle of wine listening to the waves.

I don’t write reviews as I often feel it’s unfair on the establishment. However after last nights visit ,I must.Service was poor,many options on menu unavailable and we had to wait nearly an hour. When the food arrived our order was wrong and the meals were awful. Other customers had been waiting even longer and the kitchen clearly could not cope. As for the cleanliness and toilets the less said the better. Would not come back again

Great location and friendly staff. That’s why it gets 3 stars. The food was decidedly average at best. I think everything they have is frozen and pretty much tasteless. In fact I am sure it’s frozen as the bar/ restaurant area has a massive freezer init.

Enjoyed our visits to The Penwig this last five days whilst away! We’re lucky with weather and we’re able to sit in the week situated front beer garden which has just had new tables and chairs! Are here too and food was good and reasonably priced!
