Visited the Christmas markets in December with close friends. Not much for the kids, a couple of rides. The stalls were mostly like a makers' market with locally made food or crafts in the central square. The upper boutique shops were varied, including Christmas decorations, books, toys, and jewellery. The atmosphere was great. Accessibility in the Square was great. There were steps and ramps. However, when we visited, the lifts were out of service, so access to the upper tiers would be impossible for wheelchair users, plus the walkways of the listed building are narrow but accessible. Had a great visit overall. 4 stars because of the broken lift at a busy time of year.

Despite the wind and rain we went to the Christmas markets. The shops were lovely and it was busy but it was well worth a visit. Some incredible independent shops and some local traders in the stalls in the square. Well worth a visit for the markets or any other time.

Visually, the Piece Hall venue looks amazing, especially after dark. It's essentially a large courtyard surrounded by sandstone Georgian warehouses. Beautifully lit, it's open air, so sound quality will vary depending on conditions. AIR sounded pretty good and the gig looked stunning. All the staff were super-helpful and friendly. Halifax is a lovely town, btw, and everyone seemed friendly to talk to. If I had a quibble...I'm not convinced the balcony tickets we had were worth the extra cost. Yeah, you'd stay dry if it was raining, but the balcony is just a fairly narrow corridor overlooking the square and quite far back from the stage with no seating. If you go to the bar or toilet, chances are someone will have nicked your spot by the time you get back Also, £16 for a pint and a vodka and coke from plastic glasses is a bit of a liberty. Toilet provision is very limited for balcony users. There are 4 or 5 individual toilets that were unisex as far as I could tell, and there was a queue at the end. Apart from that, I think this is a great venue and lovely to visit during the day. Really nice shops and good food.

A Cracking Day Out at Piece Hall We headed to Piece Hall for the first time this Christmas and had a right good time. The place was decked out and looked absolutely stunning. We tucked into a lovely lunch and wandered around the market stalls, picking up a few bits and bobs. We couldn't resist trying the churros - they were delish! Piece Hall is a brilliant place to spend a day out. We'll definitely be back!

Went to Xmas markets at Piece Hall - lovely set up, nice stalls. Biggest problem was not enough toilet facilities - queues were massive at each toilet - need more for the amount of footfall. That's the reason for three stars and don't particularly think I'd return to Xmas markets.

I haven't been since it was done up and my husband has never been! Was pleasantly surprised how nice it was and spent a good hour browsing the little shops, that have something different to the normal. The cafe bars were fairly full and the food smelt delicious. We declined eating or drinking there but I'm sure we'll be back. Not as many cafe bars as before which was disappointing! The market was pretty and nicely done up.

A wonderful place to visit, soak up the atmosphere/history and browse through the eclectic mix of shops, from a retro gaming arcade to a crystal shop. We particularly liked said crystal shop with my wife picking up an awesome quartz globe, along with two other pieces. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, but we did not partake given they were extremely busy. Main access to the upper levels are by stair, but lifts are also available next to the stairs. One comment is that many of the shops were quite cramped and so wheel chair access would be awkward at busy times such as this. The Christmas market was slightly disappointing a large proportion being hot food stalls, and the rest crafts that you can see anytime of the year. Thoroughly recommended. Note parking is not easy. There are currently major roadworks and spaces are limited. Taxis though are cheap and quick to deliver you from your hotel.

Positives:First time here and thought it really nice. Market stalls set in middle of square with lots of different products. Two different levels with independent shops, (though not much on the top level). Food places were busy. Negatives: lifts difficult to locate with a couple out of order - not good when people rely on them like my mum. Toilets also difficult to find also with a few not working (!), and disability Access needed ... Overall ok if not been before, but not sure if id go.back and getting to it is difficult.

We attended when the Christmas market were on so it was busy but it was still easy to get around. The small shops are nice and the shopkeepers are friendly. I came here with my partner for the Christmas market and to have a look at the shops. It was a very pleasant experience. There is a train station within walking distance as well as various car parks and other shopping centres, indoor markets and amenities. The Piece Hall shops and eateries tend to be a bit more on the pricey side compared to shops and eateries outside of it. It was nice and clean, busy but not overcrowded. There was a small performance stand as well that we saw some music acts performing on.

Lasagne was very cold when served to me chips were piping hot. I told one of the servers and she took it away, literally 2 minutes later my plate of food was brought back and no change to the temperature of the lasagne so I sent it back for a third time again on return the lasagne still was not warm let alone hot and by this time my chips were also going cold so I sent the food away. £8.00 wasted and we will not return there again .
