Not even sure why we even thought it was a good idea going in early on a Sunday morning. What were we expecting to find!

Good wetherspoons scran. Beer is kept well.

Lovely old building typical of those used by Wetherspoons. We just called for a coffee which was good and great value as ever. We were walking along the prom and it was an easy diversion to get there. A good stop off we will use again as we often cycle along here

On a tour of the coast we were in need of a well earned coffee break. Colwyn Bay was our stop and we headed off in search of a kettle. Russell Hobbs and Morphy Richards were not options; We couldn't find a spare plug socket on the street. Then, The Picture House appeared on Princes Drive and in we headed, knowing full well that Wetherspoons almost give away their coffee to get you in the joint. Originally The Princess Picture House, the pub hasn't changed that much since those heady days of ice cream and usherettes. We had a couple of hot coffees from the self serve machines, marveled at the utterly dreadful carpet, wandered ten miles from one side of the pub to the other in order to have a wazz and disappeared further into the coast of North Wales.

Our 2nd visit and again didn't disappoint, nice place, nice atmosphere good food and staff would definitely recommend.

Stayed at the travelodge for 2 nights and this place is only a 5 minute walk, I decided to have breakfast there each morning. Lovely breakfast and staff very friendly and accommodating. Inside is really nice one of the best I have been in lots of old features from its days as a cinema and Lovely painting on the wall on the top floor, really recommended trying if staying nearby.

Special ambience and great value for money!

We love Wetherspoons and go regularly but tonight I stood at the bar for a good five minutes being ignored by the girl behind the bar who was putting glasses away. She must have known I was there, I was right in front of her but she completely blanked me. Surely customers should come before putting glasses away!!

Do you like going to a place where the manager ignores tourists and serves locals even when they tell her your first ? Do you want to be treated rudely and be harassed by staff ? Do you want your teenage son to be questioned by staff what he is drinking even though he’s not got a drink Or your other 19 year old daughter with ID being refused an adult drink ?? How about staff refusing to give names when you advise your complaining or refunding you not by your original payment method Quite simply the WORST PLACE EVER -do not go unless you want to be treated like dirt -I dare you Wetherspoons challenge this review But it gets better I bumped into the regional manager who PROMISED he would look at the cctv and get the manager to call me and no one has ever called it shows how much this pub/restaurant cares AVIOD !!

Very nice building and was quite quiet at 2pm on Saturday

We had two small plate meals which were huge and great value for money.

Lovely clean pub. Kept some of the original features. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We had mixed grills in the evening and traditional breakfasts in the morning. Both meals were lovely, hot and value for money. Will definitely return.

Visited Sunday evening. Was busy as the sun was shining and holiday makers like us were out in force . Ordered via the app, unfortunately an ale had just finished but hey ho not the end of the world and the staff advised me of other options . Drinks and food served promptly, staff polite and friendly. As with all Wetherspoons the staff are playing catch up with cleaning tables but the old Picture House is a nice quirky setting.

Burger was served with a hair in it. I requested another burger ate half, and found a piece of paper in it which i had eaten. Not brilliant.

Absolutely beautiful place in an old building with lots of character. Food was great and great service all round.

Nice building, good atmosphere and nice staff. Update: the staff make this place. It really is quaint for a huge building and the people who work here make it personal. As you would expect in a local country pub, not a huge chain. Definitely worth an award for the efforts the team put in.

Food appalling, zilch atmosphere, TV on but not allowed sound for rugby/football. Service and management terrible to what we were used to in previous yrs

Called in for breakfast. Food was tasty and hot. And service was quick. The place is looking quite dated and tired, but well worth a visit. Like all Wetherspoons you get decent value for money.

Food was pretty much freezing. Filled my drink up all the way with ice it was basically just a glass off ice Duty manager was rude gave me about 20 seconds to talk before just walking off. Overall wouldnt come back

Nice restaurant,but don't order scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. Eggs too much water,which resulted in the toast being soggy,and the eggs were tasteless. In too much of a hurry to complain.

Typical Wetherspoons experience. Good food, good atmosphere and good selection of food. Staff really friendly and fast. Beer has to be the cheapest I have had in years. Friday night was packed out, Saturday was only a little bit lighter.

Oh my goodness. Never again. It was like a zoo. Tables was not clean Stuff actually stuck to the table. I.e. the menu, so gosh knows how long they been dirty for. I won't be going again. If that's what the outside is like. Then no way am I ordering food from their. Had one pint. It was like water. Tasteless. I would of spent more money in their but, I'm not sitting at dirty tables.

Actually has signed directors for disabled access, although difficult to navigate with 2 people. A lone wheelchair person would struggle without help.

The food came and it was cold by the time I came to eat it due to 4 big fans in the ceiling and the teabags were all bursting and had to make my drink twice so did my friend .I won't be having breakfast again

We came here for an evening meal on a monday - this seems to be the night most other restaurants close in the area Service was really good, staff all friendly and helpful The food was hot but the portions are very small We both had double burger. Anyone with a big appetite might have needed two. But the price was good and it was tasty

Try the noodles, a really nice change from the norm. Loved it

Beautiful setting for a quiet meal.

Very similar to previous visits. Very minor criticism. Only 4 chicken strips instead of 5 and no coleslaw despite asking twice. Apart from that acceptable

A very bizzy place. Some staff couldn't be bothered with service. Table's not cleared or cleaned. Luckily I always have some wipes with me. The inside looks amazing.

When ordering a dessert of chocolate brownie and ice cream ! To be told we have no ice cream and then get charged full price for just a small chocolate brownie 🤬

Nice and bright pub, staff friendly and helpful

Ordered drinks on the app and had to go and fetch them myself as they were sat on the bar for 20 mins with staff walking past them.

Meal was good with their own app you just pick what you want drink and food tap it in to your table number and everything comes to the table great way to order

Me and my partner went in last night, we had been in a while when at 10.30 we're told by the guy behind the bar that he had been told not to serve us anymore as we had often outdated our welcome. As a licencee of a pub I regularly finish work late and pop in for last orders but have always left when I'm asked to. I have never been aggressive or augmentative and just left. It has once been said by the barmaid that I go in and take advantage because there are women on which is also untrue, I go in mind my own business and cause no trouble so.i felt the treatment I have recieved regularly is unfair and that the staff are very rude. They seem happy enough to serve at 12 then kickyou out at five past. I am.more than aware that there is no drinking up time now but I seem to be regularly picked on above anyone else. I have literally only been drinking in the pub a week or so since the last time.it happened.

Quick service, helpful, plenty of seating, not top notch food, but plentiful and ok.

first impression the place was quiet second impression the place was filthy. we had just arrived in colwyn bay and we was tired & hungry not much choice of other eating places open on a sunday night decided to give it a try. 4 of us ordered steak at varying levels of cooking 1 blue 1 medium rare 2 medium. all steaks tough as old nick even with a steak knife. 1 steak was sent back & cod and chips ordered as a replacement this came out over cooked dark brown leaning towaeds black. standards are dropping and tim martin needs to look at training & quality control & perhaps acceptable standard levels before they have a direct influence on the business

Everything you want from a Wetherspoons. Good food and good beer at sensible prices.

It is Wetherspoons cheap and cheerful however the veggie large breakfast was top

Made a random stop here after being told another place had an hour wait. Incredibly happy it occurred or else I wouldn't have wound up here. From the States, first visit. Incredibly friendly staff. Great food and atmosphere. Had our one year old with us. Would highly recommend and come back.

This place is amazing, bright, clean, happy staff happy to help too. Sat up on the top balcony jus absorbing the decor, amazing mural, definitely going back soon, was a midweek kids in school visit.

As weatherspoons go it's nice, beautiful decor, staff are nice and friendly.

Food was ok, not as good as other spoons. Service was slow, got the meal and drinks came 15 mins later. Had to ask for someone to chase them up. I like that the seats are staggered up different levels.

Hairs in food and was missing the sausages off large mixed grill, we told them we were missing the sausages and they refused to give them to us because they seemed to think we were trying to scam them out of 2 sausages

Another great wetherspoons, lovely big building.

Love a Spoons, and this is one of our faves. It's set over four levels in an old cinema, so there's plenty of room but it doesn't feel big and cavernous. Staff are super friendly and on it, and everything feels clean. Never have to wait long for food, even when it's busy, and the open fire makes it feel cosy when it's cold outside. We usually go at least once a week for breakfast - the muffin and coffee deal is a bargain - and I nip in sometimes for a cheap coffee on my way to work (you can take a reusable cup and use the coffee machine for a fraction of the price of Costa).

Great service. Friendly staff. Great food. Great value drink.

Ordered the mixed grill, tomato was fine, tasted like a tomato, sadly everything else was dire. Lamb and rump, couldn’t tell the difference. Pork loin could easily have been chicken or turkey leftover from Christmas. Gammon was just a plain old bacon chop, no age no seasoning. Lucky for me the mushroom (1) I saved for the end almost tasted like a mushroom. Definitely not eating here again, I don’t care how much it costs.

So what I’ll do is il l start it off on a positive before I go onto the work on point there is one Narmada who is very down to earth and treats everyone with respect and I hate the fact that I had to put a complaint in through her because she did nothing wrong and her name is(Sarah she is one of the best workers here she always make sure that everything is perfect for you ) But the only down side to hear was I orderd a mix grill and it was stine cold but after I put the complete in they sorted it out complete it’s 100% worth going here one of the best place and the best staff that work here.

Had a lovely meal can’t get over how well mannered all the staff are especially Zoe and Josh who served us All the staff are helpful couldn’t do enough for us I am disabled with an assistant dog the food was excellent and place very welcoming Geoff Jill certainly be going again

You get what you pay good old breakfast

A small quaint Wetherspoons. Like them or hate them; don't forget they have bought and renovated these unique buildings for new generations to enjoy.

Never visited this place for over 20 years and was reluctant to go in. On entering I was so surprised at how cosy and warm it was. It was clean although it wasn't too busy so that helps. The price of the drinks we had was so much cheaper than many other establishments in this area. We sat near the fireplace which was lovely and Christmassy! On our visit I found the staff all pleasant. I prefer it to Wetherspoons in Llandudno. One other thing I do like is that it is a dog free pub unlike so many other pubs and eateries along the North Wales coast. I will certainly be calling in more often.

The restaurant was lovely and our server Molly was an absolute joy. Pity that the bar staff were not as helpful or friendly.

You generally get what you pay for with food at a spoons so not a 5 star but ok for the price. Another lovely building kept, well worth a visit.

We went today and the place was filthy, sticky floors, tables full of dirty plates, sauce dripping on the outside of the bottles, menus stuck to the floors under the tables. Ordered food, the children’s meal has dried up beans and more chips than the adult portions of food. The all day brunch consisted of fatty bacon which looked raw. We couldn’t even be bothered to complain, we left the food and went. Your probably wondering why we stayed on the first place, if you have a 4 year old who is very hungry you will get them food ASAP! Feel for the staff, they are polite enough and smile but not enough of them clearing tables and cleaning in general. Afraid to say but won’t be eating there again!

Very clean for a spoons, it seems to be hit and miss at many of them but this was lovely. Great layout and many happy customers. Lovely building and would definitely recommend.
