Very good and. Yummy food & staff are amazing friendly

Bought 2 doner kebabs from here today and they were dry and hard like it had been reheated 2 or 3 times, expensive and horrible had to throw away and order from some where else, don't recommend this place.

The food came quick however I told them to make fresh naan but when I received the dish it was very cold and hard. I don’t recommend this place because the food not great at all.

Honestly, should have gone to Pavlos on Queens Road the service at picnic kebab has fallen off. I used to love going to this place but now it’s horrendous will not be going back. Absolutely terrible service owner just complains about losing money doesn’t care about the customers, hence why I will not be going back I went straight to Pavlos after writing this.

The food quality is bad. Very high prices disappointed with the food quality and staff.

This restaurant's food is repulsive! I won't dine here again. The food safety council should inspect its hygiene practices. Dirt is rampant, no tidy order, and no one wears gloves and head cap . It's a guaranteed case of food poisoning with old meat and vegetables – a waste of money and stomach troubles!

based on reviews and how long this place has been around i was really looking forward to it, but it was a massive let down. i got the chicken and lamb donner mix in fresh nan. both chicken and lamb were super dry. salad was very watery, the wrapping was literally soaked through by the time i got home. the chilli sauce had a very strange taste. the only plus side was that the service was good, chaps were friendly but i will never visit again.

Looking for somewhere to get a decent doner kebab in leicester since Pavlos on Queens Rd changed owners from the greek cypriots. Thought I'd try this place. Ordered my doner kebab, it was made and bagged within 2mins. Thought that's a bit quick. Anyway got it home and opened it up only to see a mess. Pita bread wasn't cut properly and looked as if it had been hacked at. Taste was ok but no where near as good as Pavlos back in the day. To top it, found a hair in the food - unacceptable. Safe to say I won't be going there again.

The price for a small kebab has gone up to £7?! Wow! The food is rushed and when you're paying high end for a simple kebab, having it cut fresh should be mandatory rather than the oil seeped kebab from the container. The price has gone up, Service never really existed, food taste greasy, been visiting this place for the last 20 years. Just isn't the same anymore, lost a loyal customer, Won't be returning.

Got a doner kebab in a pitta. Had a weird taste to it and was pretty bland. Defo wouldn't eat again, would rather go to the local chippy to get one.

The doner meat was dry as it has been for the past couple of times and I religiously order from here. However, recently I have been ordering from Pavlos Kebabs on Queens Road and oh my oh my it is so much better. Everyone raves about the chilli sauce at Picnic but Pavlos homemade sauce is sooooo much better and their kebab meat is amazing. I only went back to Picnic as Pavlos Wasnt open at the time i wanted to order. They also advertise a naan however one would assume this is fresh however its from a packet, from my understanding Pavlos will be doing fresh tandoori naans very soon.

terribly overpriced, the food itself is okay, but the prices are just too much for what you get, portion size too is also not good. not worth the money

My latest visit was on one of the owners “good days”. This place is very hit and miss. If you catch the owner on a good day, you will get good food. But a lot of the time he is really grumpy and the food will also be crap. I can see some really poor reviews on tripadvisor and some good ones. I’ve given five stars as I feel they deserve the benefit of the doubt because they really do do the best kebabs in leicetser when they are in the right mood and frame of mind. Doner is the best in Leicester. Cheesy chips are made in the oven and are lovely. Well worth a try but be aware it is hit and miss.

Bad quality food. Doner never fresh always comes out of container which might have been cut sometime ago and this is what causes the bad smell. On top of the smell the prices are high would expect fresh food for those prices. Overall wouldn't recomend this to anyone.

Just ordered £33 worth of food for the family, unfortunately every piece of chicken was stale, and seemed like it was from yesterday 😣 quite unfortunate as usually this delivers. The chips tasted so chewy.

Order the donor or chicken yiros and both are great with the chilli sauce and salad. Spot on. Chilli cheese fries are also great. Simple customer service and great takeaway food...

this place is my favourite place to get some doner. i would recommend to everyone. make sure you get there early because there are long lines.

I now live at the other side of Leicester but will definitely travel here to get food. Service prices and the food are awesome. Haven't let me down in 15 years.

This place is a must if you want some really meaty food or have been out on the town. Great quality, cooked to order and good the next morning when you are nursing that horrible hangover, I speak from first hand hangover experience!

I’ve been coming to this place since my teens and never had a bad experience. The owner Lefty hasn’t changed or aged a bit and still the same, but tends to let the staff run the shop nowadays. The doner meat is uniquely spiced and cannot be match for taste and quality. Sadly I’ve moved away but I always make a point of visiting Picnic when I am over In Leicester and sneak in an extra large doner with salad and lots of chilli sauce... simply yum.

Service was great, the guy behind the counter was so friendly, even gave me a slice of pizza that he had just cooked for him and the staff whilst I waited for my kebab to cook!! :-) Pizza was great but my chicken shish was really disappointing. Salad was good but the chicken was completely plain, not a herb or bit of seasoning like normal, just plain chicken breast on a skewer. I could make a better shish at home! I eat chicken kebabs weekly and I’ve never experienced plain chicken, ever. Other reviews mention the chill sauce so I ordered a large pot. It was ice cold!! Who wants ice cold chilly sauce out of a fridge with a hot kebab?! Bizarre!! Only in Leicester a 4-5 times a year, may pop back here for a pizza as it was so good, but not a kebab. Shame as the staff were fantastic.

I've been going to Picnic Kebab for about 25 years, I've never had a bad takeaway from it and they usually stay open till very late, say 2 o'clock in the morning, so when everywhere else is shut you know where to go, if you like things hot ask for the chili sauce in a little pot, highly recommended.

This place is know for its food, I've been coming here for over 15yrs and brought numerous friends to try this food after a night out, or just a good fast food...I've never been disappointed! Always busy on Thursday's, Friday and Saturdays evenings. If you like your meat this a place to come. Vegi options are great the soya burgers with their homemade chill sauce always goes down well.. if you haven't tried this food, I'd say you've not really experienced Leicester's fast food!! A must...for all to try

Este es un sitio al que ir! Si alguna vez me cuesta decidir qué comer, siempre terminan aquí cómo algunos. He estado comiendo en este lugar durante más de 25 años y todavía la comida es estupenda. Salsa de chili casero, ensalada fresca y un kebab kofte siempre es increíble. Personal amable, aparcamiento en la calle disponible, pero puede estar muy concurrido debido a la popularidad en las horas pico. No dejes que eso!

Durante los últimos 15-20 años, este lugar ha sido mi local. Gran turco kebab shop con buena comida y siempre fresca. Gran comida después de una noche fuera nunca falla. Hay salsa de chile única es para morirse. Me encanta el lugar y el propietario....

Food is great, restaurant is always keen. And Prices are always fair. Queuing can be a bit difficult at times during busy periods and parking issues arise. However would highly recommend. Staff always freindly.

This place is a local institute, been open for a number of years, clean, good quality fast food. the donner is made on site from actual lamb. very nice. the other kebabs are a little bland, they offer an awesome chili sauce which is normally quite hot. open till late, owner is always friendly. and the food is halal.

After a few beers tried this place for a kebab and it still has wonderful food on offer.Won't let u down.You can eat in or takeaway.Real goo stuff

I always have the chicken kebab here and we have also tried the lamb burger and doner kebab. I have to say we have been coming here years and w only ever eat kebabs from here. The meat is good and not with any added rubbish.

This kebab house has become a fav for me, and a fav for the betters half's family for many years. Staff are friendly, food cleanliness ratings are good, and the taste of the food is brilliant! So many varieties of meal deals, and all at ridiculously good value!
