No puedo explicar lo asquerosa que era la comida - pedí patatas fritas de salchicha y salsa - que costaba casi £ 10 y había algo realmente malo con la salchicha y la salsa. Tenía el sabor más horrible.

Loved this place for years. However, food this time was awful. Chips well over cooked. Fish was almost non existent. Batter hard as nails. Doner kebab consisted of chopped meat in small pieces. 2 drinks. £37.00. This is a take away chippie! We wont be missed I'm sure but sad to see a lovely place change so much.

We booked this afternoon tea as a treat whilst away for a few days in Edinburgh but can honestly say it is the worst customer service we have received anywhere. To start, we were kept waiting for 20 minutes, after being seated, before anyone came to speak to us and the room was freezing cold. Food was reasonably nice but when asking for another pot of tea, which we had been advised was included in the extortionate price of the afternoon tea, they simply topped up the existing tea bag with hot water. When we asked for a new tea bag you would have thought we had asked for the world! Everything seemed to be too much trouble and made us feel as though we were making a fuss. There was a teaspoon of jam provided to accompany two scones and when we politely requested more jam we were told this was not possible as it had all been measured out according to the bookings for the day....unbelievable! A little more thought and consideration about the customer experience would have made all the difference but sadly we would not recommend this afternoon tea at all, you would do better in the regular cafe with a sandwich, piece of cake and cup of tea.

We had a great experience! Kenneth was personable and friendly. We had the Korean Chicken burger and Bacon Roll, both were delicious. It was a great way to start our travels.

After arriving in Edinburgh late yesterday and not being able to locate a restaurant that did not require reservations we opted for a pub for dinner tonight. And we are very happy we did. We mostly interacted with the manager Jamie although the bartender was pleseant as well. Jamie was very helpful offering suggestions and insight into their food and drink options. Service was great, drinks refreshing and the food delicious! We tried haggies for the first time with their special- haggies fritters and they were very good. Have to say this evening was by far one of the best dining experiences so far on our Europe trip! Highly recommended if you are in the area.
