Recently had food and drink at The Robins Nest, which appears to be under new management. Will definitely be returning and hope the high standards continue.

I have been coming here for years. But recently I have not been leaving pleased. Service is great for the most part however I was waiting a very long time while others who had come in after and ordered got theirs ’s fast. Me and my mother had saw the main server pouring left over orange juices back into the carton. Right at the bar as if that was ok. Customers across from me had to look at multiple tables just to find their preferred sauce and ended up having to ask as all was empty. Even the server struggled to find one. Empty sauce bottles on all tables. any garlic bread I have ever been served here has been burnt to a crisp iv never been able to eat it. This particular time I got the macaroni with a SIDE of chicken they dumped big chunks of chicken on the top instead. The macaroni used to be amazing. Now it is flavourless and just tastes overly microwaved. Any juice from the fridge is warm when served to you. Chicken was extremely dry and should not need the effort it needed to be cut.

Went drinking one night. Very rustic experience!! Smells of urine, table marked with cold beer and a waiter reluctant to come and clean it. Filthy toilets... and so on...

Food cooked beautifully. Friendly staff. Brilliant atmosphere

Oh my gosh! I cannot rave about this little pocket of joy enough! If it’s sitting enjoying pints with Jimmy or being served food by the handsome worker Paul, I’m always in my element! My favourite haunt in this crazy city!

Two holiday cover managers, one from Cramlington and one from Pollok both of whom were very friendly and attentive. Lovely meal with family.

I organised a table of 30 guests for a surprise meal for my fiancé's 40th birthday, the staff went beyond my expectations to make sure this went well. I was provided information on the pre ordering of our meals, the staff were accommodating of changes and allowed us to decorate etc if we wished. The food was absolutely fantastic, not your standard 'pub grub' and they happily provided a GF meal due to my coeliac disease diagnosis. Only negative feedback that I would provide is it was impossible to contact the establishment, I attempted to telephone the venue over 20 times in 4 days but was unsuccessful, which resulted in me having to visit the venue several times to discuss the planning of the meal.

Unfortunately, their treatment of customers and the delivery is very bad. I hope the restaurant manager takes the matter seriously. The food is more than wonderful.

Food was dreadful over sized sandwiches soggy stodgy white bread ,steak sandwich was lacking in meat and had squashed hash browns on it 🤨 out of 6 of us no one ate the bread just some of the filling .Food didn’t even look appealing .Toilets were shocking more like a club toilet running water on the floor and who knows what ,scrunched up toilet paper all over the place and disgusting dirty toilet bowls ,clearly no checks being done and this was 6.30 pm on a Saturday evening Will not be back .

Really nice food at very reasonable prices

We went for a belated family birthday celebration and everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. The manager was very friendly and accommodating and even offered to take a photo of our party for us. Great value for money on what was an extensive choice from the menu. A good time was had by all thank you.

This pub closes when they suit themselves I was in in 2nd aug there was about 25-30 Customers in and they rang the last order bell at 9pm Also the polish manager won’t give pints as last orders nips only So he can get rid off people quicker And I don’t think they ever clean the table through out the day they are abloutly filthy You have to request for them to be clean

I really liked the seasoned salmon good kids menu. The small desert with drink is a good addition.

We understand the closing of the kitchen at 8pm, but not the reason why the place remains open until 11pm but only for drinking, as it is not possible to order even a dessert or an ice cream, unavailability and desire not to have tourists, we will take this into account

The staff are very helpful. The food is great and very reasonable we take our mum every week.

We came there for somewhere close to us.it was when Scotland was planning against Hungary on June 23rd 2024.bar staff very friendly and atmosphere was fab.defgo be back

The food was nice..I'd give it 3 stars, but we sat at the bottom, as it was busy, near a door, which we realised after a few minutes, it was the toilets, the smell was awful, when someone went in, and the door banged so loud, it was alarming. There was also a woman with 2 kids that came in, about 8 & 10 ... she let her kids run riot, they were fighting, swearing, pulling the chairs out, and climbing on a baby chair, while she drank 4 blue wkd ignoring their bad behaviour ..we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted because of this behaviour. Sadly we won't be back, you can't control your customers. People don't pay to eat, and watch other people's children run riot, while getting drunk!

The staff are very nice and kind, someone did our order very quick and it came very quick we order fish and chips the chips were so delicious and the fish was crispy and lovely to the restaurant is well looked after and very clean, and the staff make you welcome I 100% recommend it is easy to park your car it is easy for people in wheelchairs and it is affordable

Came for a meal today as a party of 7 for a birthday dinner. Was sorely disappointed with the food, chips were cold steak was full of grizzle and the chicken and mushroom pie was so hard it couldn’t be cut with a knife, the poor waitress was on her own having to deal with serving 2 bars, taking food orders and then having to serve the food to the tables to which our table was so sticky we had to wipe before we could eat of it. Plus there was no chicken burgers we also asked for mayonnaise but the lady couldn’t get us any as it was downstairs and she was on her own

First visit in yrs. Had fish and chips.. Used to a smaller portion. So barely finished it . Lol..

I visited The Robins Nest with friends for lunch. What a welcoming place! Gabriel looked after us so well and is soooo funny! A great host. The food was delicious and at £11 for fish n chips for two, totally unbeatable! We all really enjoyed our lunches and snacks we had later in the day ( lunch stretched to after 8pm!) the wine is really good value too with Oyster Bay just £17.99 a bottle. I just loved it and looking forward to going back next month with my family for dinner. Keep up the good work guys. A fab day out!

A less than happy child spoiled our lunch. Otherwise it would have been full marks. Nobody to blame, it is just the way it is.

Went for dinner with the other half, we were greeted by a lovely man called Gabriel who got us seated and was very welcoming. Food was great, pub was busy with the football bit the dining area was nice and relaxing, we had to dash before the live music unfortunately.

Great sizzler pub, getting very expensive though. Heard quite a few people complaining about hike in prices. But it's abit of captive audience. As nothing else near by.

We had good pub dinner in the Robin's Nest on a Thursday evening in their lounge. After an initial wait to order food (we came at a busy time), we were well looked after and the food served was well presented and tasty. We had a discount code which made the meal very good value for money. The staff were friendly and checked after each course that everything was as it should be. We'll be back!

Took my wife and my sister For a bar lunch I had the mixedgrill large my wife had the gammon steak and my sister had the scampi All the meals were excellent and very reasonable priced great value so good we been back three times

We had the rib and rump and the loaded surf and turf. This came with spiral chips and sweet potatoes chips plus a pepper sauce. Along with this we had a pint of best plus a Draught coke. The total cost of the meal excluding a tip was £37.50 which I thought was a little expensive hence the 3 stars. On the other hand the service was good. The food was good. The Decor needs touched up.

When we arrived we were told where abt or table was and just left to get on with it. We were not told that there was no table service you had to use the Q R code to order food and drink. The food came to the table and we were very disappointed as it looked like a child’s portion. I felt when I came out that I didn’t really have a meal and that I was going to have to get something later on to eat.

Not been here for ages and won't be back anytime soon. Guy behind the bar shouting and bawling at folk walking in. My starter Calamari, like deep fried rubber bands in a bowl, no side plate, wife's starter nachos, basically just a bag of tortillas served cold with cheese sauce and salsa , no melted cheese. Mains were 2 Chicken fajitas. No peppers, veg was fried tomatoes, broccoli/asparagus, and onion stir fry. Weird. Maybe it was because it was a groupon who knows.

Food was lovely, served really quickly. Gabriel was excellent, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and also kept the children (and adults) entertained throughout our visit. Highly recommend.

I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to visit this place,food was not as expected,we have ordered medium steaks,but it was overcooked,it was well done and super dry. We have had issues with our bill,staff was unhelpful and not interested to resolve it,we had deal about our issue over half an hour,because staff person been running from us to other clients every couple of minutes and left us in the middle of conversation with him and anyway not cleared our issue. Very disappointed.

We had a great time last night. Stopped in for a few drinks and a quick meal with friends. Bar staff funny and friendly! Great price! Will be back. Thanks so much!

Starters are lovely and well portioned. Unfortunately neither of our main dishes were as nice as starters.

I had a lovely reunion lunch with some uni friends at Robin's Nest. Food was very reasonably priced, delicious and fresh (I had a chicken wrap). Their portions were adequate too. Would definitely revisit if given the chance.

Friendly and efficient service.

Food very freshly prepared,service very good, staff very attentive. We had a Groupon voucher but will be back as menu reasonably priced and good value for money. Wine very good value, not ripped off like some places.

Gabriel is lots of fun! Very good host.
