This is the place we stopped to have something to eat and drink. We were very pleased, the food was very good. The staff was very friendly.

Classic Scottish pub with prices in line with the rest of the city of Edinburgh. Wide range of beers and spirits, some big screens active for weekend sporting events and lots of "healthy" noise. The service was a little too slow, otherwise I would have given 5***** without any problems. It will be for the next one!

14 of us had food which was very good and reasonably priced Neil the barman was very pleasant with great service 🍻

Their was a party of 14 had a great meal at this lovely pub the location was spot on and the staff were excellent especially our waiter Neil who looked after table and was excellent his crack was really good

Granting that anything on Grassmarket is going to be touristy, this was a surprisingly decent pub. There was a footie match on the televisions, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, and it wasn’t overly busy. We each had sandwiches which were quite good. One orders at the bar and the food is delivered to the table. For the two of us the total bill was about £25. Even though there are dozens of other choices within steps of the Beehive, I’d go back again.

Was looking to have a pub meal in Edinburgh and came across the Beehive Inn. A little quaint place. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well done.

I booked the Beehive for an annual get together with my cousins. There were 14 of us in our party and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening (6pm to around midnight). The food was great and so was the service. We were given a semi-private area at the back of the upstairs, which worked perfectly for us. I am sorry that I didn't catch his name (might have been Neil?), but he worked upstairs and behind the bar and he went out of his way to make sure our party was well attended to. He definitely made our night. We will certainly be back!

Overcharged and were not served what was advertised, ordered 2 festive meals at £27.95, were 2x £34.50 plus 12.5% service charge on top, so it all came in at £67.67, it wasn’t the price that annoyed me that I didn’t notice til after I left, it was the meal didn’t have Chantaly carrots or cauliflower cheese

Hugis fritters are very delicious.

Disappointment. Dirty and sticky tables that are hardly cleared. Substandard food. There are many other, better things.

Came here for a quick lunch a cheese toastie and Mac and Cheese (which is on the menu aka pasta). The food took over an hour and to top it off the pub had no heating on when it was -2 outside. Also my partner has a nut allergy and I was being rushed to sign a form on a tablet that showed the menu. So the pub would not get into trouble if she was ill. This was not the vibe I was hoping for from this pub. Also it was definitely the right pub 😂

We spent Christmas Day at the Beehive Inn for lunch and it was 10/10. Our waiter David was extremely attentive and super friendly making the whole experience a true delight. The turkey lunch was spot on! Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for making ours one to remember!! 🎅🏼🎄

We are from Italy and chose Beehive Inn for Christmas lunch! The food is very good and tasty, the place is really welcoming and the staff are expert and very kind! Our waiter was David, a very good, friendly and sweet-eyed boy! Merry Christmas!

Myself and my colleagues were in recently for our work’s Christmas night out and the service and atmosphere was exceptional. A great mix of a restaurant and pub environment. We didn’t order any food but the selection looked amazing and I will definitely be returning soon!

Of the pubs on the grass market this is the best. Charley and her colleague Matteo were excellent for our work event.

We had lunch at @beehiveinn, the classics SIRLOIN STEAK sirloin steak served with triple-cooked chips, blistered vine tomatoes and onion rings. FISH & CHIPS Hand-bartered Arlantic haddock with crushed peas, chunky tartare sauce, triple-cooked chips and charred lemon. Typical Scottish pub. There is an outside area at the back of the pub. I visited The Beehive inn at Grass market, Edinburgh and was very disappointed with the service. The staff were rude and dismissive and misleading information about the drinks. This led to confusion and dissatisfaction when my order arrived, as it was not what I had been led to expect. Customer service is a critical part of the experience. I hope management takes steps to improve staff training and communication. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this establishment

The atmosphere of the bar was undeniably appealing, with a lively ambiance and well-thought-out decor that initially set high expectations for a great evening. However, the service was absolutely disgraceful and completely ruined the experience. Despite ordering a shot, the staff did not bother to ask which mixer I preferred, a basic courtesy that one would expect in any establishment claiming to offer quality service. To make matters worse, they later charged me separately for the mixer, without any prior indication that this would be the case. This lack of transparency felt like a blatant attempt to squeeze more money from customers, which is both unprofessional and unacceptable. The staff’s indifferent attitude and failure to ensure a smooth and enjoyable service were shocking and deeply disappointing. While the atmosphere might draw people in, the poor service and underhanded tactics make this bar a place I cannot recommend. Disgraceful customer service like this is a surefire way to lose patrons. I won’t be returning.

Looked like a decent enough pub. Honestly was pretty disappointed. We were there with two teenagers, so after we bought drinks went to sit down. Were then told to move as we were 'in the main bar' where there were no kids allowed by a frosty faced manager. There were no seats in the side areas so we were then advised to sit outside (Edinburgh in December ain't that warm...). Beer was flat and the wine was warm. Oh and its pretty pricy too, gents toilets are a health hazard. Avoid!!!

Food "Steak and Pie" - I haven't met anyone for a long time who could ruin such a simple dish as fries. In addition, a piece of burnt cabbage. A pie with meat the size of a 7days croissant. It was warm - the only one that met the standard. A beer for the price of two. Additionally, you pay a "tip" automatically included in the receipt, for a dirty table like the streets of Albania. The atmosphere, nothing special. You can't even pay attention to the atmosphere of the place with such a disappointment

Called in for a pit stop light lunch on Monday and enjoyed the chicken and bacon ciabatta with a side of chips and wine - absolutely delicious. We were served by Ellie who was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

The burger and wings where jucy an full of flavors best place to eat in edimburg I stay on Apex grassmarket and because of this food we eat on this restaurant each day and we are a group of 15 people all agree that the food was the best around here

Only person standing waiting at the bar. Then two guys arrive and the barman, who had seen me, served them. When I pointed out we had been waiting to be served first he just shrugged his shoulders. Well played. Disgraceful customer service. Went to pub next door - great service from great staff. Guess where we will go next time

Ate enormously good Haggis Fritters, and quite an okay range of beers. Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes for the food, and then they had missed half the order so we had to wait another 45 minutes.

Got a Innis and Gunn lager with some Haggis Fritters waiting for my son's arrival. There was a table available and we sat down eating and drinking. It was casual and quite a pleasant place to hang out. The establishment wasn't too busy so there was some room for me and others. They had 3 main areas inside with 2 by the bar. They were supposed to have a beer garden (didn't check). We didn't stay past my food and beer as we headed somewhere he had wanted to go. Even so, I would recommend this if in the Greenmarket area of Edinburgh.

Stop in and see Ellie! She was our server and she was the best! I asked for recommendations and she gave her honest opinion and it turned out exactly as I’d hoped! It’s a quaint inn with great food and good drinks!

We popped in for lunch hoping for a simple and efficient pub lunch. We didn't have a reservation and sat in the walk-in section where you order at the bar. It took just over an hour from ordering for our food to come out of the kitchen. We would have just left but unfortunately it's a pre-paid system. I'm a patient guy but when my steak and ale pie and mash came out cold I was less than enamoured. That said there is an excellent beer selection and it's a nice traditional looking place with friendly bar staff.

First visit on a busy Thursday afternoon, due to football game. Sat outside, great to people watch, football supporters njoy the area. Friendly staff, luvly pub inside, Has a beer garden and an upstairs whisky room, worth a visit :)

Had the vintage Mac & Cheese tonight and it was sooo good! So creamy, tasty and perfect for the cold weather! I then ordered the pear frangipane which was delightful and the perfect end to this dinner! The waitress, Brogan, was amazing, very attentive and kind! The atmosphere was warm and lively, I really had a lovely time! I hope to return before leaving or in the future!

Decent place for a quick drink while exploring Edinburgh. Although there are a million other options that are much better so don't make a special trip. The range of beers is pretty poor and the food is billy basic microwave stuff at outrageous prices so I'd skip that tripe. Why they insist on playing NFL matches on the TVs is anyone's guess.

I stopped by for a quick dinner and had the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had! It was so soft and tender. It was enjoyed with a lovely pint of level head and excellent service from Brogan. Really enjoyable evening :)

Painfully slow..... nice staff, just slow to take orders, slow food, slow drinks. Just too slow.. .. shame because apparently Robert Burns drinks here. 1hr wait so far. *edit, apparently 1 chef walked out during service! Got our food an hour and a half after arriving. Offered a discount. Food was outstanding and hope this was a one off but still a big disappointment overall. No excuse for slow and forgotten drinks.

Such a cute place for my first visit to Edinburgh. Food was fantastic - went with comfort options (Mac and cheese and French fries). I have a food allergy and I was given a binder full of information and was able to make an informed decision about what I wanted to eat. Brogan was our server and I felt like there was great attention to detail and my comfort.

The atmosphere had such a cozy warm feeling. The food was incredible I got the classic vintage Mac and cheese with a side of garlic bread. It was the best Mac and Cheese ever! So creamy and delicious! Get it even if you share it with the table! Brogan was a delight of a server! She was attentive and aware that someone in my party has a food allergy and made sure they would be fine eating what they ordered. Which was the BEST experience we have ever had with a server and food allergies. Thank you Brogan for taking care of us! We appreciate you and your amazing service!

One of the first pubs I’ve went to in Edinburgh. I tried the haggis fritters, and they were absolutely delicious – crispy on the outside, full of flavor on the inside. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a nice drink, great food and speedy service

Very good experience in Beehive Inn. Good food and good beers as well of course! We had a Scottish stout and it was just perfect in the atmosphere of the pub. Big thanks to our waitress! She was adorable.

Ate very tasty. The fries in particular were a hit - super cross, super tasty. The Haggies Bits are also recommended, but are not on the menu. Just ask for it. Service was also very friendly and attentive.

Lovely pub / restaurant. We called in on a Sunday afternoon and got served pretty much straight away. Ordered the nachos to share and one of the sandwiches. Food was great, had 2 ciders and the bill came to £35. Pretty nice atmosphere and the staff were all very nice.

This is our second time in Edinburgh. And eating at the Beehive Inn for the second time. Both times it was just great. A visit there is always worth it.

Nice place with a chill vibe atmosphere! I had the Halloumi and it was quite good ! The gin drink was also good, not strong though. The waiter also asks about allergies while taking our order so that was nice

There is plenty of atmosphere, unfortunately it took an age to get served because the bar staff were either new at the job or they were having problems with the tills. Several people were served drinks that weren't ordered. It was busy, but from what I could judge, it was down to the bar staff. The pub itself is ideally located, quirky, with seating both inside and out and a very good choice of drinks. The coffee was undrinkable. Because of the slowness of service and waiting time for food, we decided not to eat.

Visiting from America and this food was amazing. The best veggie burger I've ever had, all of the workers were really nice, and the restaurant is beautiful. Highly recommend!

We waited nearly 30 mins and no one ever came to take our drink / food orders. The restaurant wasn’t even busy compared to how it normally is. I think the server just didn’t care to do her job. Disappointing.

A busy, happening city pub in Edinburgh's Grass Market. Saw a Fringe event here - n I belkeve it has other shows (mainly music and comedy) at other points in the year too. When in town, this place os always on my potential list of places to visit n a definite 'go-to' if in The Grass Market.

Non c’è praticamente servizio al tavolo infatti per ordinare devi andare al bancone. Solo dopo aver pagato ci hanno informato che avremmo dovuto aspettare 40 minuti per l’ordinazione. Totale pagato 42 sterline

Wonderful place for quick bite or full dinner. Pea & mint soup, haggis cakes for starters, then steak & ale pie for lunch. It's definitely a place to stop in Edinburgh.

We arrived late, after a show, they were closing, but they served us, we ordered a Mac n cheese which was good and a burger just reasonable.

This ancient pub consists of a warren of rooms to relax in, many with full bars. We settled into a welcoming sofa and enjoyed one of their beers.

Decent priced pub for the heart of tourist area

Service upstairs was just a bit miserable & they don't do (in my opinion) some quite popular drinks which are available in other pubs. It may say £9 something for a double vodka in the menu, but I was charged over £11 for a very weak tasting vodka soda. Wouldn't be back.
