Just been to Phoenix Cafe, St Just, West Cornwall. Huge range of food and cakes. The best bit pasties that are ready to eat now rather than having to ring an hour before to cook for you. All made by the lovely cafe owner. For anyone visiting this part of Cornwall it is 100% worth a visit, even to take away for eating later!! What a find, lovely atmosphere and completely safe for coeliacs.

My wife has a gluten intolerance so we were very glad to find this last year. Everything is gluten free, but everything we've tried is also just really good. The cheese pasties (and I am sure the meat ones) are not just good gluten-free pasties they are very good pasties full stop. If you go to St Just, eat here.

Multiple visits since The Phoenix Cafes early days - a romantic gesture on the part of the husband of this husband and wife team apparently, repurposing the old factory to coeliac food only cafe alongside multiple small, local businesses. That's quite a gesture! There's no cross contamination as said wife is coeliac and having been a member of the former Warrens pasty line knows a thing or two about pasties...and cakes...and soup...and Christmas treats...and Christmas and occasion crafts...and as the two youngest children are only at school a few days a week add in childcare with frontline running of a cafe. This smart, multi-talented couple have, in less than a year, created a family atmosphere, properly reasonable priced cafe where you'll be warmly welcomed by the daft, friendly dogs and curious, smart as a whip children. If you're not so lucky you'll just have to feast on excellent soup, pasties, cake and mince pies to die for. All gluten free, some also vegan and all made onsite from scratch. Why would you not?

Absolutely delighted to have found this wonderful gluten free cafe in St Just, a haven for coeliacs like me. Everything they serve is completely gluten free so no need to worry about cross contamination. The homemade butternut squash soup and focaccia was so delicious, as were the huge selection of homemade cakes, pies and cookies. We will definitely be back very soon!

Over priced and service wasn’t great. Owner/manager came out to speak to us after we’d asked a couple of times on the estimated time and she clearly wasn’t happy. Hoping it was a one off and they were having problems that day as St Just is such a beautiful place to visit.

The fish and meat counters are excellent, and the ready-made tarts are supper party worthy (five stars). Avoid the cafe unless you want to pick up a cinnamon swirl, though. The menu looks modern and
