We are not from this area and wanted a few quiet drinks before ending our evening. Our fabulous taxi driver did tell us this was a young people's pub but we thought with it being Thursday it wouldn't be too bad. A lovely little pub. It was relatively quiet with only about 7 people in. The music played was competing with the football game on. The music was so extremely loud I ended up leaving as it gave me a headache. If its a quiet night you are looking for this is not the pub. Even the beer garden had loud music. Each to their own of course, just not my cup of tea.

Was brought here on recommendation by a good friend who visit a lot as they have a caravan in the area and go most weekends. We came all the way from Yorkshire and was welcomed by all the staff who made us feel at home. Lovely well kept beer and some cracking Gin on offer. Only problem was we couldn’t stay longer but we will definitely be visiting again on our next visit. How anyone can slate this place on reviews is beyond me and must have severe issues and not much going on in their lives! Can’t wait to visit again

Stumbled up on this little gem when visiting the local area, has a real ale fan was extremely happy to have a choice of 3, and there was a good selection of drinks for the wife, landlady greeted us with a warm and friendly service seldom seen in chain pubs. Great atmosphere and friendly regulars, I now pop in any time I'm passing, beers are very well priced and are always changing.

My friend and I called in after visiting the local airshow. The Pheasant is a Grade II listed building in a terrace of 18th century former town houses, a document dated 1747 noting it was newly built. The false exterior timbering added in the early 1980's has been removed greatly improving the look of the pub. Much modified internally the pub is now one room with pool and darts in the middle. A door towards the rear gives access to the outdoor drinking/ smoking area. Guest ales are often available.
