The only good part was the desserts the sandwiches was stodgy due to damp bread and not only was the bread stodgy it was also stale the prawn sandwich was absolutely disgusting and gave my mum severe food poisoning ( we know it was this because this was the only thing she ate that i did not ) we was told by the waiter that it's a customer favourite how I don't know as it's vile and should be taken off the menu . although the staff were perfectly pleasant we felt as though we couldn't go 5 minutes without a member of staff coming over to our table there was a couple of instances where a staff member came over while either my mum and I had food in our mouths and would just stand there untill we had finahed and the reason being they wanted to know if we needed anything when we clearly didnt we both had the joy cocktail and found that the gin over powered every other flavour the scones were far too crumbly and dry one actually broke apart as I picked it up the desserts were nice and the flavours complimented each other nicely however it would be nice if there was one dessert each as we had to share which we didn't mind to much as niether one of us eat alot however we both left feeling hungry and had go get food later in the day when normally after afternoon we wouldn't have to get extra food after honestly this was such a disappointment and so not wroth £140

Nice location decor & chilled but abysmal service, had to be asked by staff what gin was used as they couldn’t remember. Previous occasion I was charged for a round of drinks I hadn’t ordered.

Really good selection of food and drinks for a hotel bar/restaurant, have been here for breakfast, drinks and snacks and the menu has been great for all those. Really enjoyed the matcha lattes!

Came here after birthday dinner for a cocktail. It is pricey but the staff are nice and the cocktails and the ambience were also nice

I had a very BAD experience celebrating my birthday at this place. Nobody was helpful or attentive there. I reserved a spot for 15 people on Tuesday, 30/04. Petya Stoyanova, who is the sales executive, first tried to sell me a sofa for £700. I said no. She attempted to rip me off, and then when I said no, she offered a minimum spend £50/person. I asked if the chef could make a cake, and she said yes, so I decided to proceed with the deal of £50/person + cake £60. On my bday day, I arrived with two balloons; the manager at the bar asked me to put the two balloons in the locker room because they don’t allow balloons. Ok! I gave the balloons to them. After that, the girl disappeared and never came to ask if we needed any drinks or food. We had to go to the bar and order anything we needed. We ordered lots of food and beverages, but even so, the service was not welcoming and professional. When all my friends arrived, I asked about the cake, and they took 20’ to bring it, but the cake had no candle. It’s ridiculous! How come you SELL a birthday cake without candles to sing Happy Birthday? The bar manager said it wasn’t allowed to have candles. None of that was mentioned before my reservation. Everything was so weird and annoying! They brought the cake without proper cutlery, and I started complaining because it was already a horrible experience. I asked for a knife to cut the cake, and the same girl told me they must bring the cake inside because knives were not allowed at the bar. They could have asked someone to come with the knife and cut it for us. They took the cake inside, brought some slices and again disappeared. My group decided to leave and go to a different place. I asked for a takeaway package to get the remaining cake home. The bar manager said the only option was to put the cake inside a PIZZA BOX. How ridiculous is that? W Hotel is a five-star hotel, and they only have pizza boxes to take away your food. I REALLY REGRET doing my birthday there! Finally, I wrote the sales executive to inform her of all these nonsense issues that I faced on my special day, and she wrote me back a stupid email apologising for not meeting my expectations. RIDICULOUS!

Nice place for drinks and to take business partners or friends. Love the toilets oddly - all mirrored glass - I walked into the walls twice, hilarious. The service was excellent, and they make very nice cocktails.

I am here for the breakfast and I am quite content with I what I had. W London is a modern hotel. Likewise, their restaurant also leaves an edgy image to diners. I love the way how individual ingredients are combined together. Although they don't really have much selections for dessert, you do have a wide range of high-quality juicy/smoothies you can choose from. Ginger shot is super spicy, I am convinced that they are designed to wake up and scared of your immune system.

Afternoon tea was quite disappointing. Sandwiches and cakes were pre-made. Bread was stale and cakes were nothing special. Scones were very average and the selection of tea was limited.

I was violently sick having the Afternoon Tea here. Even if I hadn't, the rating would still be a 2. Why? PRO: - Very pretty looking presentation. This is where the positive ends. CON: - Ridiculous expensive! - Non existent service (we were the only ones in the restaurant) - Stale bread for sandwiches. How? We were the only (and 1st) Afternoon Tea booking - Server told us that they take food out of fridge. Makes me think it's not fresh (didn't taste fresh) - Server told us we could only have one extra round since they had the rest in the fridge for tomorrow. Turned out that was ok since I puked it all out the next day. - Tea was so-so - Had to chase down server. Not sure why that would be since there was no one else in the restaurant, where exactly was he? - Scones were terrible. ??? Scones are the centerpiece of ANY afternoon tea - Food was not good - Restaurant would not take responsibility that it gave me food poisoning. - Assistant manager (Iulia) kept arguing about how it must have been something I ate elsewhere since food poisoning takes 24 hrs. So rude. SUMMARY: Even if I didn't puke my guts out it was terrible afternoon tea. Pretty looking but also pretty terrible. I heard recently that they've had influencers invited so they could get the word going how good the Afternoon Tea is at Perception in the W. You've been warned.

Went for afternoon tea. Alot of food but the vegetarian options was not as good

Booked weeks in advance to have drinks with friends, when we arrived they couldn’t find our booking which we did through the Fork because according to head of security they don’t work with this and we should check with the events team from monday-friday. Also wanted us to show physical id’s (2 out of 4 had it physicial and 2 pic on phone) which it didn’t say was needed anywhere on the booking reservation. Bad bad service as the W, not a way to treat customers. Never coming here again.

This bar was a real disappointment and let down by the atmospherics and service. We had not been attended to for around 10 minutes and had to go up to the bar to order. This is fine, but not at $20+ a cocktail. Waiting staff were unapologetic and one of them was sneezing all over the bar. When they did bring the cocktails over they partially spilled the contents, didn’t acknowledge it, and moved on. Service charge was still added to our bill. The bar was not busy so they were not rushed. Additionally, security staff were positioned at the bathroom entrance. Unusual and uncomfortable. Only redeeming feature of the bar was the bar tenders. They were knowledgable, friendly, and made great cocktails. If the table service hadn’t been non-existent, I would not have seen this. For that price point, London has so much more to offer.

The staff are extremely kind and accommodating, and the design of the bar area is unique and interesting.

We went for afternoon tea and it was a lovely experience! The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress was amazing, we will definitely be back for cocktails.

Gorgeous venue, but weak drinks and horrible fish and fries that tasted like fried butter. The waiter was lovely and the surroundings were beautiful.

We had a quick snack of tacos. Super yummy buns and savoury sauces. The coffee and martini was superb. Ambiance was also fun!

Very short visit, but had a lovely experience! Service by Chris was wonderful, fries were excellent and was the best way to start the evening. Definitely need to return for a more substantial time.

Food is extremely average for the price. Service is really poor even though the place wasn’t full. Gets 1 star for kinda cool furnishings.

Expensive drinks but it's the experience you pay for (probably a great place to go for a drink before or after a meal on a date). I'd warmly recommend the banana old fashioned (seen beneath in the picture)

Great space for a large group. We had a semi private booth which was plenty of space to accommodate eight people. It has a nice fire in the middle which kept us very warm. The drinks are a little on the pricey side but the cocktails were delicious.

Wir waren von der Einrichtung sehr beeindruckt. Schön eingerichtet und gute Musik. Aber das ist dann schon alles. Wir mussten 30 Minuten auf unseren Drink warten, welcher sehr schlecht war. Komme nicht mehr wieder. Für den Preis kaufe ich mir lieber eine Flasche im Supermarkt.

The only thing that keeps this place from 4 stars is the ridiculous mirror situation for the bathroom. I was sober and still bumped into three walls on the way to the can

Extremely poor service and rude waiting staff, food was good. We went for lunch on 28/12/2022. Ordered lobster and prawn mac n cheese, chimicuri burger, a cocktail, Pepsi max and water. The person who took our order was great, then came the waiter. He firstly asked if I am staying at the hotel (I said no) then he asked for my credit/debit card to open a tab. He was going to take my card away which I don’t feel comfortable and I didn’t want to open a tab. Food arrived, we weren’t quite finish our meal, he came with our bill asking us to pay! We did not ask for the bill as we were going to have churros and coffees. The waiter decided that we need to pay the bill at that particular moment so we paid and left. Such a bad service, never going back again despite we did enjoy the food. Shame.

Great location and stylish hotel for cocktails we liked

We were greeted nicely. Good drinks. Comfortable lounge chairs and bar. Nice music in the background— not too loud, you can converse with ease. Decor, lighting, and ambiance make it a great vibe!

Love this place. It has a beautiful giant disco ball that overlooks Leicester Square, a stunning circular island fireplace perfect for the winter and a well designed toilet.I visit this place often for cocktails, tea and light bites. Highly recommend

I had a couple of drinks which was nice. Quite a boujee place, very chill classy decor and vibe. Staff were hit and miss, had a really rude member move us from our seats saying its reserved even tho we were taken there by another member of staff, he was really short and angry even tho it was am honest mistake. We moved elsewhere and was waiting ages for our drinks as we were forgotten about but we had a really nice bartender who served us eventually and even gave my friend a free drink because she didn't like her cocktail, and offered her to try others. He saved the evening. There was a dj which gave it a nice vibe but could have had bit better music. Felt a bit intimidated by bouncers everywhere but I guess that's expected in a place like this. Overall a decent experience.

Cocktails are expensive and awful tasting. They can't make a Moscow mule, and their signature cocktails are just plain vile. The morning glory cocktail smells like a wet towel and tastes like soap. Ghastly place. No atmosphere, half empty, decor looking cheap and tired, avoid.

Most reviews here talk about the great drinks and evening ambience that The Perception has at the W London, however this place also serves up some amazing breakfast food, especially if you're staying at the W hotel. As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium elite I was offered breakfast here which was beyond my expectations. A+

A friend visiting London was staying there and a few of us arranged to meet him in the bar before going for dinner. Greeted at the door by two men bursting with self importance. After having to call to get our friend to speak to someone in the hotel he reluctantly let us pass. We all got to the bar, ordered then noticed the place was full of old fat men and girls looking for rich fat old men. We downed our not so great cocktails (mine was a rather bitter espresso martini) and decided to leave sharpish. We checked out his room before leaving - just felt gimmicky and cheap. I’ve been to quite a few places all around the world inc W Sydney and NCY but this one lacks any semblance of class and reflected by the poor attitude of the door staff. We couldn’t wait to leave - happy to say I’d rather meet somewhere else

Went due to recommendation for birthday celebration. Once inside myself and my sisters were ignored and spent our time look at a boring bunch of plates in shelf's. We sat on outdated 'Alexander Henry style' plastic seats. After waiting over15 minutes we had to go find a member of staff to actually serve us. Didn't enjoy the experience of walking into glass walls and mirrors when you try to find your way out of the toilets. We drank over priced wine served by obnoxious staff who demanded a credit card up front if you aren't staying at the hotel. We choose our meal from very small menu including a steak that comes with absolutely nothing or a Budda bowl that wouldn't satisfy a hungry rabbit. Try to listen to the music which is drowned out by heckling laughter of stuck up folk sitting at the next table dressed in designer gear and painted on eyebrows....at Soho new PLACE TO AVOID

Try their cocktails as every one of them are lovely, my favourite would be the Dark & Thorny

Fantàstic cocktails. Tasty and really original

Disappointed, went for a friend's birthday and had the froze bottomless brunch. The food was pretty much toast with two eggs on top and some beans. It was quite basic and not worth the over £50 for the brunch. The froze drink was nice but tasted like there was hardly any alcohol in it and for a bottomless the drinks were not being topped up fast enough. The prosecco was ok but didn't taste like a high quality bottle. Nice atmosphere but would avoid if going for food.

The Perception Bar on the first floor of the W Hotel is fairly large and has a contemporary modern design with the usual wall features. There are several bar areas with comfortable seating. They also have a DJ. If you like a fairly young crowd and Hip Tourists then this is the place for you.

Lush decor, amazing ambience, although the style of sofa cubicles was better than the chair system now to have more capacity. Cocktails are a mixed bag, some amazing and some average. But a lovely place to chill, have a group party or 1 to 1 date/romantic evening.

Good selection of food and drink. Very attentive service. Great atmosphere and music in a very stylish setting. Expensive but you are right on Leicester Square and obviously very popular at the weekend

Was there last night. Nice atmosphere and courteous staff, but OMG what an awful, rude DJ! Lots of people were complaining about him and his music. The problem wasn’t just his music but his rude attitude. I went up to him and asked very politely if he can switch up the music a bit. He looked at me very condescendingly and asked, ‘Are you a DJ?’ I said no, but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand and appreciate good music.’ Quite a few of my friends complained. We were the only group dancing and eventually left as the music got quite monotonous. Not the attitude I would expect from a member of staff. I’ve been to and stayed at the W in other countries, and my experience has always been lovely, so DJ attitude was disappointing.

Very nice room, but a very grouchy barkeeper and a unsatisfying drink.

What a little cocktail oasis. Don't want to say how stylish it is, or how good the cocktails are cos people will rush there. A spot of repose from the madness outside. Remember this place.

Randomly walked past the W and they had a table available for two. Honestly the bar, layout and general spaciousness makes this a wonderful place for cocktails with friends. We enjoyed a few of the cocktails on the menu and the lovely music playing in the background. If you want to ensure your seating I do suggest you book in advance though.

This used to be a very good bar however the vibe is weird now and the service is terrible. Not only do you have to wait a long time to be served on an evening where there’s hardly anybody there; after we paid the bill and was walking out the hostess chased us and asked if we had paid and basically accused us of trying to walk out even though she was aware we had started a tab with a bank card. We told her to liaise with her colleague before profiling and assuming people are trying to run out on a £50 bill as we had paid already!! So embarrassing. Not only is the service slow - there’s a bit of profiling and discrimination, possibly the hostess needs more training. The bar was empty and we went on a Thursday night.

Book a table for 1030, arrived at 40 mins early our table wasn't ready but we could sit down near the entrance. We just got sat down and someone came over straight away but one of the party had gone to the toilet so I she was asked to come back in a minute. 25 minutes later and no one came back, had to flag down someone for a drink. The drinks were not great at all the cherry blossom tasted like soap, and the morning glory tasted like an airwick candle. At 1050pm our table was still not ready for us, so we got the bill and they tried charging us 117 pounds, someone's else's drink were on the bill. We eventually got our bill of 51.60 for 3 drinks as a service charge was included.

Attended the Froze brunch. Including service charge it came to around £55 for 1 and half hours. The food was a good size and tasted good. The staff was attentive during our time there.

Randomly found this place with my husband on Friday night after dinner. We weren't ready to go home and felt like some cocktails to continue his birthday celebrations. Cocktails were nice and service was really good considering how busy they were. Music was a tad loud to hold conversations but we had a great time nevertheless.

A booked the afternoon tease as a birthday treat for my mum. We didn’t start the afternoon off we’ll due to a few service related issues but the bar staff (Diana in particular) then went out of their way to ensure we have the best experience. The food was delicious and a result immersive experience. A very different afternoon tea to what you would typically expect. The sweets treats in particular are delicious. Onto the show - the girls are fabulous. So much energy, well rehearsed and so much phone. I would highly recommend booking onto the next drag afternoon tea. The whole experience was unique and fun

This place used to be nice. Spacious and yet cosy. Now it's packed with chairs, seat and stuff.Weird sitting position on the round seats. Seats are fairly close to each other and all night you are facing with the couples or groups you don't even know them.

Had a couple cocktails...I feel like they put so much into making an ultimately mediocre drink...but maybe I ordered the wrong thing.

I always have a nice time here. The staff and ambience really makes you feel very special. The drinks are super tasty and the food is top-notch. If you want a special evening for a date or just a pit-stop for an amazing cocktail, go here! Pro tip: Make sure to take a look at the enormous disco ball located at the back, it's incredible!! I've been to the bar on a weekday and, despite it being a little too loud for conversation, we loved the drink and the service. Shout-out to the lovely hostess Emma for the warm welcome and the help with choosing the drinks. We also asked about seeing a room and Giacomo was so kind to accommodate our request. Gianluca at the door was also very welcoming and actually showed us up. Great drinks and amazing staff.

I loved the bartenders. They were very engaged, fun & talented. I would recommend to seat at the bar - if you are a small party - to chill and enjoy the experience.

Fairly intrusive bass from the DJ, unspectacular but acceptable service, and literally the worst Whiskey Sour I've ever had (but in their defence, it wasn't listed on the menu).

Gorgeous bar, has a luxurious essence. Comfortable seating arrangements with lots of space. Great location within the heart of Leicester Square. Seated table service which is nice. What would be great is to see a bigger cocktail/Drinks menu. Not a cheap night out at all, but worth the visit. Bar staff are friendly and helpful, service is such a big deal to me! A very pleasant afternoon tipsy tea experience with its uniqueness nothing like the traditional. Staff were very friendly. However music was too loud.

I have been here quite a few times over the years. This is the first time I have been since there has been quite a refurbishment. It’s got a very brash and loud feel now, it used to be much quieter. The food area is really just a part of the bar area and on a Saturday night is very loud. We had the 7 course tasting menu which was actually excellent and good value. And we really enjoyed our meal, but I think most people would be put off by the noise. The Saturday night clientele and overall vibe here is now very young, unsophisticated, noisy, vodka bottles with sparklers kind of place - reminds me of the 90’s, and doesn’t represent modern London. Oh and the bathrooms were a mess.

Kept telling me off for being at the bar so I had to pick a drink without looking at the menu. Also the batman seemed very knowledgeable but I couldn't really tell him what I wanted. Had to order and sit down would have preferred to be less rushed. Overall a nice bar and would come back.

I loved the atmosphere, public and music. Much better comparing to the nightclubs which are overcrowded. 4 stars only for the selection of cocktails, could be improved a little bit. We ordered few which we didn't like at all.
