We ordered two mains and two desserts from the online menu for our Sunday lunch. The food was glorious in quality and quantity and was presented in sensible cardboard boxes.

A warm friendly welcome, a great selection of dishes, perfectly cooked and piping hot. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, the potatoes were amazing and the lamb so tender and flavoursome. The chickpea roast was fantastic, the schnitzel was to die for, and the the tiramisu topped off the meal perfectly. This was the best takeaway ever! Make sure you order the day before.

We are still being cautious around COVID so very pleased to find the Pepperpot was doing a takeaway service. We had the lamb shank which was delicious with good sized portions and fresh vegetables. We had panacotta with raspberries that was also very tasty. The hot food came well packaged in foil containers and stayed piping hot. Will be going back for more.

We have visited the Pepperpot restaurant many times on holiday and have always enjoyed the food. However we were unsure if the same standard could be maintained as a takeaway meal. However our concerns proved unfounded and the initial evening meals we ordered were excellent, so much so that we ordered a second meal later in the week which also met the same standard.

I don’t think I’ve ever had such a delicious takeaway! We have eaten at this lovely restaurant a couple of times over the years whilst we holidayed in the area. We are here again and were sad to see that Covid has meant they can’t open but delighted to see they offered a takeaway service instead. Reasonably priced, still the same delicious fresh flavours and excellent quality. I’m not easily pleased but I can’t rate this restaurant highly enough! Yum

4 of us came for the set menu on Valentine's night. As far as I was concerned everything was absolutely super. The food was delicious, the service impeccable and the atmosphere just right. I don't know what 'cuddles1108' below expected, French onion sellers on bicycles, perhaps! Regional French dishes belong in Regional France - a Cassoulet belongs in Toulouse rather than Normandy and not West Runton. Tho' I speak French I do not want French menus with English translations, pretentious.

We had lunch on Valentine's day and it was lovely. The Asparagus tart was lovely and the crab linguine were very tasty. The sole was beautifully cooked but if I may be a bit picky, the saffron sauce was lovely but the plate was flooded with it and the puff pastry went soggy. Could I suggest a little sauce and the rest in a jug. It was beautiful sauce though. Crepe Suzette was unbelievably thin but may I just say about the sauce on the desert - I would like to have put it on myself and gone back for more if I needed it.A lovely restaurant which we will be visiting again - perhaps the menu could be in French with English translation under. Hopefully they will have cassoulet on the menu soon or perhaps regional french dishes - fingers crossed. Mind you having spoken to other diners they have been coming for years and love it all.

I attended the Pepperpot as part of a group - all of us are ex Royal Air Force who meet up every other month for lunch. We found the Pepperpot rather small - not much room to move about - and car parking was very restricted due to its small park.It was a Burns themed lunch and we tried a variety of choices on offer. All the food was well presented, hot and sufficient enough. All staff were very courteous and helpful so, all in all, a good place for lunch. My only quibble was the cost of a drink - orange juice and lemonade was almost double that of a pint of beer!Worth a visit

I feel bad , after having a delicious meal, giving The Pepperpot a very good rating instead of excellent. I did this because there was not one vegetarian main course on the menu. I do eat fish but not lobster and the Panache of fish was my only option. In hindsight I should have asked to have two starters. However the restaurant is extremely cosy and the staff are delightful, including a very nice young girl who was new to the job. It was very relaxed and there was no pressure or rush even though the whole place was full.Having criticised the mains I must go on to say that the portion sizes for a Sunday lunch were amazing and the quality of the food far surpassed what we were expecting.Super selection of starters and deserts to die for ..... in fact it was a dilemma as to what to choose . If it is on the menu you should choose Nougat Glacé ..... a superb desert ! I probably could have eaten another portion !Altogether a super experience and I hope we will return.

Nice selection on menu with some specials for starters and mains. I liked that we had the table for the evening, which meant a leisurely dining experience. I really liked the good selection of quality half bottles of wine on the menu. Ideal if your partner doesn’t drink wine. Puilly Fume and Sancerre are among some of the 1/2 bottle selections. It means you’re not confined to limited wines by the glass. I don’t normally eat dessert but the excellent choices ensured I succumbed. Had the Strawberry Charlotte which contained whole succulent strawberries. I’d definitely return if we visit north Norfolk again.

It was Good Friday and we booked a table for 3. The dining room had only three tables occupied, which was a bit disappointing, but the lady of the house said a number of cancellations had been made probably due to the fine weather.Nevertheless, it meant that the chef could concentrate one just us few diners and we weren't at all disappointed. Wihtout going into detail we all had fish mains and they were superb - the various types of fish were cooked to perfection and accompanied by tasty sauces and lovely vegetables. All the puds were equally satisfying and tasty. We had a couple of glasses of wine which enhanced the food and table service was spot on.This is not cheap nor, for that matter, especially expensive when you look at the ingredients used and the skills of preparation and execution. A small family restaurant run to the highest standards. Each dished is cooked individually to order and of course this makes eating there very leisurely. This is not a restaurant for you if you are in a hurry. Each dish can only be described as excellent. There are only places for about 20-24 people, so it is wise to book. The restaurant is on the road to the beach and I would respectfully suggest this is not the place to stop if you have children to feed who would much prefer to be on the beach. The Sunday lunch is £24.95 and very reasonable for such a higher quality meal.I had Roast Pepper & Brie, Tart, followed by Chicken and Honey with Dijon Mustard, dessert was the ever popular Hazelnut Nougat Glace. Portions are very generous. Welcome and service cannot be faulted. Some of the following questions are little difficult to answer e.g the main entrance does not have what I would call easy access through the main door but I am sure the proprietor would arrange for a wheel chair to be brought in via the car park sliding door window "entrance".

The Pepperpot is a treat destination, ideally when somebody else is paying ... although it is not that expensive considering the quality. Based in a small house (with a good car park) just away from the village and beach at West Runton the Peppermint is a charming, homely restaurant with a French inspired menu. You are made to feel at home as soon as you enter. Coats are taken and you are invited to sit in a small bar area while you can enjoy a pre-dinner drink and have your order taken. With the cook-to-order policy this will not be a quick meal, but the speed is appropriate, not slow.We have been several times. The restaurant run themes throughout the year. We came in at the end of pie week; I note 'Poseidon Adventure' is next (where you eat until you look like Shelly Winters?) with treats such as red mullet with fennel and sea bream with samphire. The food is high quality, well presented and served in sensible portions ... big enough to feed you but small enough to allow room for dessert. The wine list, to my mind, is exactly what you want. There are some top end offerings, and I am sure they are lovely, but a truly smooth Argentinian malbec, at £18.00, was far from the cheapest on the list. You won't have to open the wine list with foreboding. And an important note, the place is perfect for vegetarians, with lots of interesting choice. All in all, highly recommended for a good evening out: a bit posh, but not threatening, a bit foodie, but very welcoming. If these is to be a grumble ... the music! I actually listen to what is on in the background. This place needs something classy and not "We will Survive" amidst a run of other cheesy, lates 70/early 80 disco hits.

Reading other reviews it seems this family run restaurant prides itself on staying the same since it was started (think Crepes Suzette). Regrettably the restaurant business has moved on quite a bit in the last 20 years and as a result it feels a bit left behind.I had devilled kidneys to start. Was expecting a few kidney halves with a reasonably hot marinade, perhaps on toast. Received a small soup bowl with some chopped kidneys, in a tasty but by no means "devillish" sauce. Finished off the bread that came for the table in order to bulk it up. My wife had crab linguini which was tasty but the pasta was over-cooked and the sauce somewhat watery. My main was bouillabaise. I appreciate this dish is open to interpretation, but essentially it is a good and hearty fish stew served with large croutons and rouille (sometimes also grated cheese). Chunky pieces of bread to soak up the broth is also a good idea. My bouillabaise was served in a shallow soup plate, with about 5 thin croutons. a good rouille and a small dish of grated gruyere(?). Although the broth was tasty, there wasn't that much and the fish seemed to me to be a fish pie selection (including smoked haddock, which I must say I've never had in a bouillabaise before). I think I would have preferred the fish in a fish pie. It was sufficient but not hearty and why no mussels or crab, both key products of the North Norfolk coast? Surprisingly it came with a side of steamed vegetables (one floret each of broccoli and cauliflower, a few carrot sticks and some cabbage). An unusual accompaniment. For around £17 this was a disappointment. Our guests seemed to enjoy their meal (and indeed we went on their recommendation). But I was underwhelmed given the restaurant pitches itself at the more expensive end.

Great welcome shown to sitting out area for preprandials (although not offered any canapés) orders taken by owner very efficient. We chose a special for one of the starters asparagus wrapped with a cheese and tomato base served on a puff pastry base, and my other half had salmon and dill Mousse both very tasty. For mains I had oxtail which is quite unusual these days which was cooked in a rich red wine sauce and the meat just fell off the bones, the other main was fillets of sea bass with a selection of nuts and a white sauce. The service was slick with a smile. There was an excellent wine list which we could not take advantage of unfortunately as we had had drinks before we arrived so we stuck to a glass of house wine each. It is a pleasant restaurant with chef from Normandy, who takes pride in his cooking. Every sauce and every garnish had its purpose, very thorough attention to detail and combination of flavors. We have not had such an amazing meal in a long time.We were pleasantly surprised by how professional our waiters were. Tables were served and cleared out in a great professional manner and without unnecessary fuss. The hostess was a little loud announcing the specials AND their prices to each table. Such overpowering noise did not seem to fit the lovely atmosphere of the cozy restaurant with white tablecloths and a charm of the higher class venue. The prices are surprisingly low for the quality of the service and meals. We dined here on a recommendation given to my parents in law. It was moms 78th birthday & we were just visiting the Cromer area with them. If you are elderly then this is probably the place for some of you & I will clarify that we eat out a great deal. So maybe my expectations are to high. The owner is very proud that nothing has changed for 20+ years & that the food is wholesome and filling. I would totally agree with this. You enter into a house & sit in a living room type bar area with a very cottagey feel. My Granny's in the 70's. We ordered drinks & were then shown to a well laid table & not to squashed into the relatively small space. They have a lovely garden & outside dining area but sadly the weather was not good enough. Our meals were ok & delivered very hot. We ordered Devilled Kidneys special which was tasty but sadly the devil was missing probably catering to older tummies. The salmon & prawn was plentiful if uninspired. The mains were good in general & my steak was excellent but the salad was only adequate. I also had to ask for the sauce to be separate as everything comes covered with it's sauce. English mustard came in the jar? My parents had a haddock surprise? Which they enjoyed but couldn't finish & my partner ordered the chicken & asparagus which was delicious probably the best meal. Vegetables were ordinary but the roast potatoes were lovely. On the whole you get exactly what they advertise but it is definitely not 4 star cuisine & very stuck in the 80's . A bit more imagination would go a long way. The service was good & the staff seemed quite friendly. I was surprised that no effort was made for moms birthday even our local Indian put a candle in a complimentary ice cream. Not for the young or young at heart. However we couldn't say that we wouldn't eat there again but we would know what to expect.

No kidding, this has got to one of the best places I've ever eaten - and that includes some famous, Michelin starred names. At The Pepperpot's very reasonable price point, there is simply nothing to touch it. I've not been in the evening yet but the lunchtime menu is superb. It changes frequently- the dishes are mainly French rural cuisine, using fresh, locally sourced produce and often includes surprises such as devilled kidneys, rabbit and jugged hair - but it consistently offers variety, choice and excellent value for money. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the service superb. All in all, The Pepperpot comes highly recommended. As you might expect, booking is essential.

No pude encontrar ningún defecto.

No volvería

We stopped here for Sunday lunch on the walk from Sheringham back to Cromer after Sunday morning church at Life Church in Sheringham. Conveniently situated just a few minutes from the coast path. Although we had not booked they were able to accommodate us in the garden. Food was excellent and seemed good value.
