Really good no frills pub food. Good value for money. Main courses two for the price of one. White bait good, Ribeye steaks cooked beautifully and were very tender. Homemade sauces both peppercorn and Stilton were very good.

Brilliant place for an evening meal. Great 2 4 1 on main courses. friendly staff to where happy to help change meals to a request. Dog friendly.

Fantastic menu choice, absolutely delicious food and reasonably priced. Lovely beer garden and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Lovely welcome, great food and a good pint and very dog friendly. What’s not to like, so relaxing after motorway driving. Staying at Michaelwood so a perfect place to eat. The staff made it though. Have booked again for this coming Friday on our return down the motorway.

Been here maybe 5/6 times , always had a nice meal so chose this as a birthday treat! Unfortunately it has massively gone down hill , portions have gotten small , steak was extremely well done when asked for medium… no pink in sight, thin cut of meat , tasted more like braising steak! Meal was meant to come with peas it but never instead there were a few rocket leaves! Stilton sauce was lovely as always , added onion rings which we haven’t had before, I’m not sure there was any onion in there just 4 rings of thin batter dripping in oil! So disappointed as we loved supporting a local Business on our doorstep for our treat nights, last time we noticed the portions getting smaller which is why we added sides but this time the quality had drastically gone downhill! Unfortunately we shall not return to this pub or chain of pubs again although it was buy one get one free £53 is still a lot of money for a poor meal ! We will spend our money elsewhere

Eastington Craft Group Lunch. We were ladies that lunch and visited the Pepperpot to savour the 2 for 1 on main courses. There were 14 of us and the food was amazing, from steaks cooked perfectly to hunters chicken and fish and chips. The choice is broad and with specials on the board. All meals arrived at the same time perfectly cooked. The service was excellent,helpful and friendly. 12 of us had puddings which were delicious and all homemade . Atmosphere and comfort were top notch. The whole group was very impressed and will all be returning.

Fantastic meal We stopped in the caravan site and decided to have lunch. What a pleasant surprise. The lady who served us was lovely and the food was excellent. Two for one and such good value. I had chicken fajitas and my husband had burger. Very generous portions and perfectly cooked. I really recommend and we will definitely visit again

We had lunch here whilst staying on the campsite, and was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. The "lightly dusted" calamari starter was all coating and very little calamari, and tough to eat. The house burger - The burger patty was nice and well seasoned, and the bacon was really good, but the chicken breast was dry and overcooked. The fries were on the cusp of being incinerated, and were mainly hard. The ones that weren't though were really nice, so that was a shame. The onion rings looked great, and were definitely home made, but they just tasted of cooking oil. Again, a real shame. The pork belly was also overcooked. There was nobody else eating in the pub when we were there, so not sure whey most of the meal was overdone. The main meals are "Two for one", but at £20.00 for the burger, are they really? Nobody checked in on us when we were eating, so couldn't give any feedback. They do serve a good pint of Guinness though. Maybe it was just an off day, and hopefully others have a much more positive experience.

Stayed on the caravan park for a couple of nights and spent New Year's Eve in the pub. The welcome both at the site and in the pub were superb and everyone made us feel at home. Food was great and the New Year's event was well put together and great fun. The new management (8 months) are working hard to make a success of the place so good luck to them.

From the minute we booked with the lovely lady from Aberdare to the minute we had Sunday lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Pepper pot. We were greeted warmly and our dog was given treats and water. The team are so friendly and the food is home cooked, delicious and extremely generous in serving. Added bonus is that there’s quite a few choices if you’re vegetarian too. Excellent value for money. We met our friends there and left saying we would definitely return.

This was our second visit to the Pepper Pot. The first one was okay, but this one was exceptional. I see that it has recently changed hands and you can see the difference. We went for a birthday meal, two of the group arrived a day early and the staff could not have been kinder. They kept hold of some flowers and a cake to be presented when we returned on the right day!! They were very accommodating, good service and good food, we've already booked again to try their Sunday lunch!

Great little pub/restaurant this. Went there last night and learnt it has recently changed hands. Had a really good evening - tasty and fairly-priced food, great range of beers and real ales and friendly staff. Terrific little blues band in the main bar too, and not too loud either. Will come back for their Sunday roast, and reckon it will be a good little pub for a relaxed mid-week drink as well. Cheers landlord!

We made the mistake of Camping at a nearby Caravan site called Hogsdown Caravan Park, had to leave the site due to the owners being ridiculously unreasonable. We walked down to this lovely little pub and were blown away by the food and friendliness of the staff and customers. Popping in here really did make our holiday and can't wait to return to your campsite next time. Thank you for making our day and note to all avoid the nearby caravan site Hogsdown if you are actually wanting to have a good time 🤣

Well what a difference from June, when we had a thoroughly delicious meal. Our meal this time was very disappointing, two months on, what’s happened? Firstly the starters were over cooked and dry, the prawns in the prawn cocktail were few and far between, served in a small dish with a teaspoon! , with no presentation or bread. The main courses were again dry, overcooked and slapped on a plate. The waiting staff were in experienced and had no idea on how to serve. They gave the meal to one person and then stretched over that person to serve someone else. When asked if any bread with the prawn cocktail, they said , oh I don’t know I will check, a slice of bread turned up with a small pat of butter - no presentation, ( last time it was placed on a plate cut in quarters and arranged around the cocktail with 2x pats of butter with a fork and spoon. Tuesdays were advertised as steak night but evidently they have stopped doing through the summer. It would have been nice to know they had stopped. All in all we won’t be returning unless it improves vastly. Very disappointed .

We are regulars to The Pepper Pot As it was a Tuesday night (advertised as steak night and still is) we couldn't order on special steak night as they have stopped for the summer months (no advertisement locally to say this) We ordered off the main menu STARTERS: Prawn Cocktail (salad existed of small bit of lettuce and 1 thin slice of tomato cut in half, no plate, no bread and butter until asked for it), Brie (salad existed of small bit of lettuce and 1 thin slice of tomato cut in half), Garlic Mushrooms (salad existed of small bit of lettuce and 1 thin slice of tomato cut in half, over-cooked) MAINS: Full Racks of Ribs (Ok), Chicken Stack (Chicken very dry and charred on one side, salad existed of small bit of lettuce and 1 thin slice of tomato cut in half), Sizzling Chicken Fajitas (NO SIZZLE, too much liquid) DESSERTS: Ok All in all, the worst meal we've had at the Pepper Pot Disappointed as this was a friends birthday meal

We visited as we’d stayed on the campsite next door. Food was lovely, staff friendly and reasonably priced. The home cooked chips are spot on. Kids meals are generous portions unlike some places. Service was nice and efficient too and you could tell it was freshly cooked. I’d recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

We went for an evening meal on a Tuesday. All staff were very polite and welcoming, and we accidentally stumbled into ‘steak night’, which was a very fair price for what we had. The food was delicious and if we were ever in the area again, would 100% return.

We called here as we were looking for a home cooked pub meal after arriving back at our holiday cottage in Uley after a day out. Wow! This did not disappoint. Tuesday night is steak night here and on recommendation one of us had the rump steak which was absolutely beautiful and so tender, like butter with a side of onion rings and peppercorn sauce which were stunning and the perfect partners to the steak. The meal was gorgeous and at a very reasonable price too. The lasagne and ham, egg and chips were also ordered by the others and both were beautiful, with the lasagne being home made too. Generous portions as well as excellent quality. Tammy and Andy are so welcoming and the service is first class. Highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely be back.

Found the Pepper Pot on our last night staying in the Cotswolds and I wish we had found it earlier. What an absolute gem of a country pub. If you are looking for a traditional country inn with a great atmosphere and fantastic food then this is the spot. The owner Andy and his family are so friendly and welcoming you feel like a regular. To add to the family vibes we had the absolute pleasure of meeting the mum Bev who was helping her family out for the week, she is a real character and one of the warmest people you could hope to meet. The food cooked by Andy himself is fantastic and exceptional value for money. I had the mixed grill which I thoroughly recommend, my wife had the fajitas, my daughter had scampi and her partner had the burger and everyone loved their meal. Thanks Andy, Bev and family for making our last night in the Cotswolds so enjoyable and memorable and we will definitely be back when we are in the area again!

Was camping next door so popped in a couple of times over the weekend for a pint and to let the kids have a run around in the park. Met up with some friends for dinner whilst on a weekend in the Area. Really lovely cosy little restaurant, great atmosphere, great food and wonderful friendly service. We’ve been eating here a few times a year since first opening. Great heights In it’s first incarnation as The Pepper Pot, up and down since then. We’ve moved slightly further away so visits are more sporadic. For a number of reasons our last visit was nigh on a year ago, back then we had the most delicious Sunday roast, meat tender, veg perfectly cooked, and the most delicious cauliflower cheese...and the gravy?, literally to die for. Fast forward to now...well where do I start?...atmosphere changed completely, service is not attentive, but then wasn’t great before either in all honesty. Drinks order took an age to take and be supplied. On to food...well, chalk and cheeseIs an understatement, overcooked meat, veg soggy and literally looked like it was chucked into the dish. Watery gravy that is hardly worth the title. As for the Yorkshire, well ...yeah....really?? This pub is part of a chain locally that’s good in places and not others, shame their not applying the same standards here they do in other venues. Improvements needed across the board tbh...sorry.

All meals were good with generous portions. Not cheap pub food but all cooked fresh. Service was quite slow. There wasn't enough people in the kitchen or out front. Had a drinks order taken and then a long wait for drinks and then our menus arrived! If you're in no hurry then it won't be a problem.

This is our first visit since name change from Pickwick to Hoggies. Superb Sunday lunch. 3 beef 2 pork everyone very happy with their food. Excellent veg, cabbage, creamed leeks, carrots, Swede, and calabrese all cooked to perfection. . A very welcome extra jug of gravy for gravy junkies like myself. All in all the meal was faultless. On to the puds, my daughter, an avid school pudding fan was in seventh heaven with her spotted dick, whilst my apple pie was to die for. Gin and tonic sorbet, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie also soon disappeared. I highly recommend Hoggies Sunday lunch . Service was friendly and helpful. We shall return. First outing with son daughter and twin babies. The staff were very helpful and understanding which made lunch an enjoyable event. Good selection of food and plentiful supply of fresh veg. We were quite late for Sunday lunch so can forgive the meat being a little dry.

Visité este encantador pub rural con mi esposo e hija la semana pasada y definitivamente regresaré. Todas nuestras comidas fueron cocinadas a la perfección. Tuve el pescado y las patatas fritas, que era excelente y los demás elegir de la junta de especialidades que tenía una opción de 3 entrantes y 3 platos principales. A mi marido le gustaron las cervezas de verdad y había muchas bebidas no alcohólicas para el conductor. Me gustaría volver cuando no esté conduciendo para probar algunas de las ginebras artesanales.

Recibimos una cálida bienvenida por parte del personal del bar que nos cuidó muy bien durante toda la noche, y nos sentamos en la zona del bar, ya que teníamos el perro de mis amigos que disfrutó de una tumbada frente al fuego.

No me importa pagar un poco más por comida de buena calidad, pero tener que pagar extra por una ensalada que debería venir con la comida automáticamente es un poco demasiado. Literalmente tuve carne y papas en mi plato! La comida no era mala, no era tan buena. Sin embargo, el personal fue excelente, muy amable y especialmente el joven camarero el sábado por la noche fue excelente! Si va a tener un menú de mercado más alto, ¡también necesita saber cómo deletrea la panceta lardons! (un poco mezquino lo sé, pero hace una pequeña diferencia para asegurar que las cosas estén bien escritas). Oh y Guinness en una lata. . . . . . definitivamente un no no!

We have visited on numerous occasions in the past and it is usually quite good. Visit this time was not so good. Had to wait ages along with another customer to be served. The £11 scampi came with few chips and no salad or peas. The chicken and bacon salad used to be a mixed salad with onions, peppers, celery, tomato, cucumber etc with freshly made croutons. This time it was supposed to be a caesar salad with anchovies but all I got were a few leaves out of a bag and that was it. No anchovies and the croutons were out of a packet.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for many years since living in the area, which we have done for nearly 18. We have always enjoyed coming here which we do on a regular basis - the staff are friendly and helpful, the service is good, and importantly, the food is great. Regular favourites include the fajitas and steaks, with nachos and onion rings as sides. Recently I had a crayfish salad and a pasta from the specials board which were both excellent. We will keep on coming here for many more years to come.

Had Sunday lunch and at first glance it looked good but once you started to eat it you could tell that everything had been kept warm or reheated for a long time, tough and chewy potatoes, stuffing, parsnips. Not really good enough and I wouldn’t say I’m fussy about this sort of thing but this was sub standard

We were a party of four. three adults and one child.Service excellent, food best in area. We visited on Steak night, In our party we had Gammon Steak, chips, and peas. Rump steak chips and peas, Scampi and chips also sausages. Very nicely presented.

Always packed on Sunday for one of their legendary roasts ... food is gr8! Nice friendly staff and owner. Good selection of drinks available too. There is a caravan & camping site next door so you can always book to stay over and visit the Cotswolds for a day or two.

Have visited twice before and meal was great however had meal this week and dropped in . Service was poor , bar person said she would come over to take our order which took her over 15 mins then time between starter finishing and main meal being served was again over 15mins then when it arrived it was quite disappointing steak , chips soggy , peppercorn sauce watery with no veggies included . No salt & pepper even on table - this is basic stuff . Such a shame , QA inns should be better than this

Average is how i'd describe it. Considering its off the beaten track you might expect it to be a bit better in order to entice more visitors. Nothing wrong withe the food or the service as such.

Quiet Monday evening with ample staff but food came out in dribs and drabs, one of our meals was paid for but they hadn't put the order through. By the time i got salt and ketchup my food was stone cold. I had picked up what appeared to be a bag if poop and put it on the table nearest the building as i didnt want it on the ground near my puppy and they must have walked past it 20 times and still not cleared it up. Disgrace. Shame we won't be going back to this local pub.

Food great, not our first visit have eaten there when it was the Pepperpot never had a bad meal.
