Booked a table for Sunday 13th about 2 weeks ago as it was recommended and we knew it would be busy. There were 6 of us and we were all looking forward to a roast dinner. We were told that there were only 2 roast turkey dinners left…it was only 2:15!! Ordered other things from the menu and then waited almost an hour for our food to arrive. Peppercorn sauce was a further 10 minutes wait. Poor quality food, very poor service. Very expensive, even taking into account the BOGOF!! Very disappointed and will not return. Definitely would not recommend.

4th oct had a lovely meal on our 38th wedding anniversary ... steak cooked to perfection superb meal and not our first here and never disappointed... highly reccomended

We popped in on spec and had the nachos and rump steak. My steak was cooked to perfection (med rare) and was delicious. My husband's nachos were v spicy and plentiful. Service excellent. Highly recommend.

Friendly pub and dog friendly. Good welcome and directed straight to our table. Drinks order taken immediately, then given plenty of time to study the menu while we waited for the 4th human and the solitary canine of our party. Lovely choice of traditional roasts and a vegetarian option. 1 of our party is coeliac, and another has a dairy allergy. No problem at The Pepperpot, plenty of advice on choices. The crackling was not served with our roast pork, so we asked for crackling. It came out in a bowl but was a bit soft rather than crunchy crisp. Maybe it needed a bit longer in the hot oven. We were the first to arrive at opening time so maybe a bit ahead of the cooking of the crackling. Other than that, a lovely meal in a nice country pub.

Good food, large portions and great service. Excellent key lime pie. Even better it was 2 for one.

We ordered The Chef's Special X2 which was a Wild Boar Burger with bacon and brie... It was lovely apart from the lack of bacon... We also had the Hunter's Chicken and a chicken and bacon salad. All good was delicious and came out in good time! They currently have a BOGOF deal on mains which is very helpful, Thanks. We had a lovely evening👍🏽

The cauliflower cheese was tasteless you need to use mature cheddar in the sauce with a teaspoon of mustard and salt and pepper.My friend had the curry which was dry the chicken was a shredded mess.You definitely need a new chef.

Food was really not brilliant, most of it from the microwave (ribs). Bloke, we are assuming was the landlord, was really quite grumpy. No atmosphere. Won’t be back.

Visited here with family. Placecwas clean and the food excellent. There was an offers on too which was an added bonus. Would definitely go again when in the area

Was really excited about having a meal here after reading the reviews. However our experience was not as we expected. When we booked we were told that you couldn’t sit outside for food yet loads of people were eating outside and were having food served. The pub was really busy and really noisy. The table that was reserved for us was really sticky. When the food came it was average, my meal was barely warm and the portion of chips, that was extra, weren’t properly cooked. I have never been anywhere where they don’t ask if you want any sauces etc or come back to check the meal is alright. Yes they were busy but no excuse for poorly cooked food. Won’t be back for another meal.

Absolutely amazing meals, ordered Hunters Chicken, Beer Battered Fish & chips House Burger, Rump Steak Strips with Stilton Salad.... everything was perfect thank you. Dog friendly too 🐶 Hoping to book caravan site too so will return 👍

I had heard through several clients that the pepper pot 2 for 1 is the place to try! I had to admit I was dubious. About 18 months ago I had an awful meal there but upon finding out it was back in the hands of the previous owners I felt much happier. Rump steak and Hunters chicken with delicious home made onion rings. Was delicious! We had a bit of a wait but I’m not surprised, the car park was rammed and we hadn’t booked. I have already rebooked! Highly recommend!

Had a wonderful lunch , 1 of the best roast meal I've eaten, if not The best.

First time visit so can only comment based on that but my sis who is local says PP never fails in delivering quality food and service. On own personal experience today,I would highly recommend.

Did you know The pepper pot is buy 1 get 1 free on all Main meals Including Sunday lunch 😋 just had a meal which was roast beef with all the trimmings very tasty .Definitely recommend to friends and family

Went for lunch. Nice pub. Good 2 for 1 food deals. Beer was nice. Dog friendly.

Lovely little pub. The food was lovely. it did take a while for it to come out, though. Wasn't easy to get to the bar to order drinks or food as there were people sitting up at the bar drinking and a young girl sitting at the bar having some food. Plenty of parking. Only down side to the parking was when we were leaving it was dark and none of the car park lights were on, so used phone torch to see where we were walking.

Buy one meal and get one free, bargain! Lovely steaks, good service.

Small, nice and humble little place to eat and have drinks. Great staff, good specials good food, not a reason I wouldn't recommend.

This is a 2 for 1 pub, that I understand, but I felt the prices were priced as so. A house burger was £20, I had a starter, a main, a side and 3 pints, this came to £46, Things have definitely gone up in price but I felt this was a little expensive for a solo diner. I'm sure a couple of diners would have a much better review because they are able to make use of the discount. Unfortunately for me I wasn't able to do this. The ales I had were nice, the atmosphere was quite but friendly and the food came out fast.

Lovely local pub with good food. My wife and I had fish and scampi which was great and good portions. The burgers we saw looked amazing and made me want to come again and try one.

What's not too like! Tammy and Andy are great welcoming hosts and go out of their way to accommodate you. Best to book in advance at busy times like Sundays as its popular. Large garden and a play area for kids. Next door is a campsite.

Great Sunday lunch, they made up a table for 17 of us to celebrate my dad's 80th. Food was hot and served quickly, great service from all. 🙂

Popped in for a pint on 30 September stayed there for 3 plus hrs had a 3 course meal service was really good, food was excellent definitely go there again.

What can I say. It's now run by the great team who ran the royal oak in Wotton-Under-Edge. Great food, great service, and fantastic atmosphere!!! Highly recommend!!!! Ps my wife always asks if the lasagne is on. It's that good!!!

Nice pub with large beer garden. Large car park and a campsite next door. Lovely venue but the food was disappointing in that the battered fish was overcooked and still had the skin on. Steak came with just one mushroom and half a tomato. Food could be better.

What i’m assuming is the manager was horribly rude and condescending blonde woman. We were overcharged for the food and she didn’t even offer it back straight away, acting as of it was a chore for her. Food was also clearly reheated from frozen. Would not recommend. The only redemption was the lovely lad that served us

It does great food, I can recommend the steak & kidney pie, its not often that this is on the menu at any other place & I enjoyed it. The staff are very frendly. Worth trying this place out.

Would never go there again! Me and my partner came here as a belated Valentine’s Day meal and were disgusted with the service. We weren’t shown to a table so decided to choose our own table to then overhear staff blatantly talking about us. The food took over an hour to come and was hoping it would taste amazing as it took so long. I was wrong. The food was very basic and not much flavour in anything. After the service we had I’m shocked you have so many good reviews!

The food was bad and undercooked, which is definitely not acceptable. Quality food is a basic expectation when visiting a restaurant especially with the price we paid! Undercooked food can also be a health hazard, ill be surprised if I don't get food poising the chicken was basically raw. The staff were very slow with our order and drinks and there was most certainly no service with a smile. The seating is uncomfortable and the pub is cold, I had to wear my coat whilst eating! Overall the experience was not up to par and I will not be returning....

Firstly, I’d give 0 stars if it were an option. Walking into the pub we were shocked about how hostile the staff were, making rude comments to the other staff members about how we sat down without permission, even though we weren’t greeted as we walked in whilst it was empty. We should have left straight away after this but we thought we would give the food a chance to redeem the experience. The food took an hour to arrive which was surprising as it wasn’t busy. The food itself was very basic, with little to no flavour, the chips were cheap and frozen and the burger i ordered was covered in grease, the salad had brown edges and looked a week old (minimum), the chicken my girlfriend ordered was dry even though it was swimming in bbq sauce. On the contrary the bacon that came with the meal was hardly cooked and stringy. The portion size was good however the awful quality of the food made it a horrifying challenge to even attempt to eat. This may seem like a joke but honestly it is not worth spending a penny in this place, don’t be fooled by the other reviews.

A lovely pub, well worth the visit. I had a steak and kidney pie with crust on top which was full of meat and very tasty. Others had Ribeye steak and marinated lamb and were equally very impressed with their meals. Good choice of desserts too. We had honeycomb cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding which were delicious and you could have these with ice cream, cream or custard.

The food was decent, but the service was shockingly bad. Might be a good enough place for the caravaners, but for someone that has standards there is need for improvement/training.

Pleasant little site with nice views across the hills. We received a friendly welcome from the chef patron of The Pepper Pot pub we ate there in the evening, food is good, staff were friendly and pub was busy. In fairness, you cannot ignore the motorway noise which, for me was the only slight downside. Would I stay again? Yes probably…

I've ate here a bunch of times over the last year. I love their burgers. I've also enjoyed a steak here. Atmosphere is often quiet, but family friendly.

Now that it's called the Pepper pot again we thought it might be time to try the new management out. We both really enjoyed our meal tonight thank you. Our rump steaks were cooked perfectly and the meals were nice and hot. Our dessert was lovely with plenty of fruit in the Eton mess. The beer was tasty and the service was attentive, happy and friendly, we will have to come back again! Thanks again it was a lovely evening. Chris.

Came for food but walked away as your area all around the pub literally stunk of sewage, same smell over the duration of 3 days whilst we stayed at a nearby campsite.

Popped in for a few drinks and some lunch. Lovely place with friendly staff. Would would highly recommend.

Still nice pub but knew it better as The Greyhound at Wick in the 60s,70s 80s what a proper pub then!!!

Good "pub" food. Children's play area needed some attention though as there was a lot of litter and weeds, just needed a general tidy up really as it let the rest of the pub down which was tidy.

Lovely pub on pepper pot caravan park. We only stayed for 1 night on our way to Cornwall. Bit pricey but nice meals

Arrived late after being delayed travelling. The chef kept the kitchen open for us, which was so kind, as we were travelling with a child. It's fair to say they cooked up a storm too. The staff were all so friendly and attended to our every need. Honestly after a long journey we couldn't have asked for more. A lovely pub that we highly recommend, nothing is too much trouble.

Wow! This pub is right next door to the pepper pot campsite. The staff are very welcoming, the menu and food is another level. This is the perfect place for any van lifer should they want to stay for a break. The facilities in the campsite are class also. I will book up here on the way to going some where. Thank you to all staff and just wow!

Food is average. Garlic mushrooms in breadcrumbs tasted like tinned ones im glad there was a dip. Garlic bread ok. Chicken wrapped in bacon with cheese "hunters chicken" was average, a bit overcooked, difficult to cut, compared to others Ive eaten. My friends had gammon which was quite dry and they also found difficult to cut. Maybe sharper knives might help?. Good service.

Fantastic welcome!! Opened half an hour early to serve coffees to my running group. Lovely atmosphere, real fire, delicious coffee. We'll be back!!

Good food, proper beer (including Proper Job) and very friendly and helpful staff. A mite nippy away from the fire. Reasonably priced too.
