Bisley House Bar & Grill in Stroud

We thought it would be special, based on prices....but 2 burgers, 2 fries, an odd small £4 sad side salad, bbq chicken wings (uncooked inside), a beer (v good) and an OJ was £59 with forced 15% tip. Sorry, tummy upset as well all night....not at all worth it. Korean burger did not taste at all Korean. No kimchi. Kind server. But overall we now know why it was empty. Very disappointed, after being so hopeful. Rip off.

Came last night with my family, had 4 burgers, onion rings and 2portions of chips, it was delicious with quick service. Server was efficient, worth every penny and was happy to leave a £13 tip from a really good experience

Really poor experience. Waited an hour longer than the estimated delivery time. When it arrived, the driver didn’t come to the door, sauce had leaked over everything in the bag, the food was stone cold, dry and flavourless. Would not recommend at all

The service was great. The burger was good and so were the chicken strips but I don’t think the Mac and cheese balls were up to the standard. I enjoyed my time here but probably wouldn’t rush back. Atmosphere wasnt great but the weather at the time was poor and it was a Tuesday night.

I had the Mexican burger and it was amazing, moist patty and the toppings and sauce complimented it perfectly. The person I ate with had the welsh burger that they said was incredible aswell. We split two sides between us, the pork belly and the Korean wings… both were incredible. The pork belly was melt in the mouth and the wing flavour was sweet but full of flavour. Their selection of draft beers and cider was great offering some local lesser known ones as-well ones we all know such as Cruzacampo. To top it all off the service was perfect. A true Stroud gem if your looking for a next level burger, only problem is I now want to try the rest of the menu 😂

Great food and service. Light on the alcohol free lagers but definitely would recommend.

At first I ordered a hot dog and I received a pork sausage in a brioche which I wouldn't call a hot-dog so I then ordered a burger wich was burnt on the outside although the res was great but my mums burger was quite undercooked and I only ordered 1 portion on chips urt they charges the 1 burger as a full meal (about £14) instead of just charging for the burger wich would have been half the price of burger and chips together.

Now my fav pub/restaurant within 15miles radius of stroud . it’s a lovely place and as much as it’s a pub everyone is so friendly and doesn’t feel like your average pub. the food is 10/10 to die for . get down here it’s amazing . love from - kia , alfie and riley

100% recommend Bisley House Bar & Grill. I'm not a burger person normally but this buttermilk chicken burger (fox's favourite) was Banging 👌 Also had the cider onion rings & skin on fries 😋 The staff were amazing & made us feel welcome. Thank you 😊 It's safe to say we'll be returning. 👍

Amazing food served hot which makes a change only criticism I have is macaroni cheese balls was bit bland in flavour but still tasted banging Tell quality of food that's for sure

What an amazing meal, portion sizes are good and price was appropriate. As for my Kinder Beuno Waffle for dessert absolutely incredible, one of the best waffle desserts I have ever had and I have had a few! Well done Dan and team y po u are great :)

Not very impressed. Coca-Cola very over priced and my son asked for no onions in his burger and got 2 different types of onion ! We did point out that no onion was asked for and the waitress went to the kitchen and just came back out and walked past us ! They even had the nerve to ask for a tip! My son doesn't like to offend but I am not happy and won't be returning!

Went to have a burger with my son and his g/f following great reviews and we weren't disappointed. Burgers were top notch, service really friendly and atmosphere great. The sweet potato chips were the crispiest, nicest I'd ever had too. Will definitely go again when I'm visiting. Well worth the short trek out of town.

One of the best burgers I've had. The combination of Fillet, rib-eye, sirloin and rump made for a great tasting, juicy burger. Along with a portobello mushroom & peppercorn sauce. It was simply divine. The Pulled pork, Mac and Cheese balls were very good & the truffle fries were excellent. The onion rings had a little too much batter for my liking, but they were proper onion & not the minced formed ones you get elsewhere. The selection of ales was very good too, so all in all it was a top notch experience and I will definitely be back.

Great little restaurant fabulous burgers. Well worth a visit. The night we went it was quiet during the week but can imagine it being lively on a Saturday night!

The Manager Danny was very kind when I lost my keys and sent a text message. He took the time to call me to say he had seen a post in Facebook describing my keys. He also then called to give me the number of the person with them. He didn't need to do any of this but was kind enough to bother. So a big shout out to Danny!

The burgers were amazing and great service too. The Bisley house may be out of the town centre but it's really worth the effort to travel a little further.

Amazing food! I got a rib eye beef burger with streaky bacon and grilled cheese and caramelised onions and all the salads. And a side of pulled pork mac&cheese bites which were the size of tennis balls! Best family friendly pub and grill with a cozy fire for chilly days and a beautiful garden aswell for the summer. 10/10

Extra star for the food as that was great, but service didn't exist tonight. Took 15 minutes to get a pint poured and bottle taken out of the fridge. I expected the food will not be quick after that start and I wasn't wrong. If I wasn't so hungry I would have stood up and left. I'm pretty sure after asking about my food for the second time is when they started working on it, and no, only two other people were having food at the time so the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed. Late for following appointment, manager wasn't aware of what's happening and seemed surprised to see us leave. Took the food away in a box as we were now late. No napkins and no sauce on the wings which we previously asked about. And atmosphere was probably 1 star also, not necessarily the venue fault but to add to the situation it makes a big cross on the map of where not to come again.

Great food but do check when open. Busier evenings were told but on our 2 lunchtime visits it was quiet.

Had a pre-Christmas meal with a good friend and enjoyed the Limited edition "Fat Santa" burger with curly fries. A very tasty burger indeed, which also tasted of a Christmas dinner! Yummy. Will be back in 2024! Thanks.

Perfect place for great food and drink and hold business meetings and catch up with friends. Recommended I have never tasted a burger like these anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed.

The burgers and hotdogs we had were delicious. They also have some yummy sides, puds and milkshakes. If you’re into that type of menu in a nice pub setting then I highly recommend it.

We went in on a Saturday and it had already been a busy night but the service & food was brilliant. They don't have starters on the menu so we requested some Sides to be served as starters which they did. They were great & set us up ready for the mains. Pork belly bites were melt in the mouth, chicken bites with the gravy mayo was lovely and fresh & the Jalapeno poppers were banging! The burgers were superb! Dont your time adding any sauces to the burgers until you have tried them how they are served first! The flavours were amazing and it definitely didn't need any additional sauces. 5 start food & 5 start service! Looking forward to my next visit, maybe try out the steak specials

This restaurant is located a 10 minute walk from Stroud town centre in a quiet residential neighbourhood. It has a small seating area at the front, and a rear garden. Inside, there is a dining tables as well as a bar, and a fire in the winter. The food is mainly burger based, with beef, chicken, pork and vegetarian options. The burgers are all large and delicious. The Welsh Cow (beef burger with rarebit) is particularly good. The only potential improvement would be for the fries toppings to be dusted all over the fries rather than a topping. The staff are polite and friendly.

My partner and I dined here last night and all we have to say is WOW! The food was absolutely delicious. We both agreed the burgers were the best we have eaten - doubt we will go anywhere else for a burger now! Even the onion rings were next level. Really enjoyed our evening. We will be heading back with our kids who have plenty of options on the menu to choose from. Highly recommend and will be recommending to friends👍🏽

It was a warm Friday lunch and I had a craving for a really good beef burger locally, not the fast food ones; this place was the answer and I look forward to coming back again. I had ‘The Welsh Cow’ with skin-on fries - yum!

The Welsh burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and the pulled pork Mac n cheese balls were amazing! It wasn’t even overly expensive for the amount and quality of the food we had. Burgers good, ended up busy for a Tuesday evening. Perfect for a family meal and dog friendly. Only reason not a 5 star is because the 'fat Burger' was sold out. Well worth a visit!

Ordered through Uber Eats and was sent the completely wrong veggie burger. Also ordered fries on the side and they were put in with the meat burger so I couldn't eat them. Dreadful quality, over-priced and ultimately inedible.

Heard good things so was expecting more. Nachos were crisps with hardly any cheese, burger was nice but basic, garlic and Parmesan fries weren’t very tasteful and not much cheese. Not sure if we got them on a bad night but wouldn’t rush back unfortunately

Absolutely fabulous. Great welcome on arrival and good service throughout (best to book as they can get very busy). Excellent menu choices including a few gluten free options (unusual for burger places). The burgers were fantastic. Really big and tasty, you possibly won't need fries, but the sweet potato fries were great! We were impressed with the price of drinks too, £5.50 for a large glass of wine, or £16.50 for a bottle. We'll definitely go back.

What a burger joint. Lovely warm atmosphere, maybe in part down to the beautiful log burner but mainly down to the customer service. Really friendly and welcoming staff across the board who were attentive and accommodating. I asked for my burger to be well done and unfortunately had to send it back for another dip in the pan and they were more than happy to resolve the issue without complaint. The food was of a really good standard, really tasty and not just your standard boring options. The mac’n’ cheese balls were crispy and surprisingly light rather than the usual stodgy goop you get. Chips were also delicious, my husband had the garlic and Parmesan.. but .. they do curly fries, If you didn’t need any more encouragement to go.

We have just come back having dinner at Bisley House where we had the Korean Chicken Burger, Bisley House Burger and then about 5 of the sides between 3 of us - the food was amazing, everything was packed full of flavour and reasonably priced. Staff were lovely, really helpful and friendly, service overall was great! Would definitely recommend!

We arrived for our booking at 7.30, got our food at 9.07 after having to search out someone to take our order & then again to get water for the table as this was not offered. Waitress who took our order was not happy to see us & gave general impression of not wanting to be there. When the food arrived it was fine but side orders were all mixed up. We ordered a bottle of Sauvignon which wasn't great but when we tried to order again we were told there wasn't any. The lad who served the food was helpful but we were all annoyed by this point, especially by the attitude of the waitress. We hunted her out about 9pm as we were ready to leave if the food was going to be much longer & she said it would be 2 minutes....what I hadn't realised is that it is all burgers (a friend made the booking) so even more surprising they took 90 minutes. Really wouldn't recommend & won't be going there again

Burgers where top quality and tasted great, the chef clearly takes pride and puts effort in to his food, staff where all nice and friendly Cocktails where banging too, Can’t say no at 2 for 1, first time going there, will deffo be back 👌🏼

So much potential here. Great building and location, the décor however is a real let down with no real theme or atmosphere. Plastic plants, horse painting and high backed chairs need to go! And the cactus placed right by the salt and pepper (minor moan but they were already ground...) kept catching us with it's spikes. The menu, an American influenced affair with some Welsh touches, (btw, I love Wales and my husband is Welsh) but wouldn't it make more sense to source produce locally here in the Cotswolds? With the cost of living increasing going out for a meal is a real treat and what a shame not to make the most of what could be a great place. The description of the burger I ordered didn't fully describe what was served, it had tomato and fresh lettuce but no mention of this on the menu. I could tell the chef had an understanding of flavors, but unfortunately it was a average burger. Served on a small piece of slate, which was way too small and my food was spilling onto the table. Wasn't too impressed with the waiter delivering our food, picking up a cat to move it, then going back to the kitchen to pick up the rest of our order... I hope he washed his hands! Adding to the experience was smoke blowing in from someone smoking by the front door, and some people watching loud videos on their phones and vaping near to us. What a shame!

We literally have nothing bad to say about any of it! All the staff, especially Carly, were so friendly and I will definitely be back! 💖 Would definitely recommend the pork belly bites as a side but I couldn’t choose a favourite burger so just try them all 🤪

Just heard that those establishment had reopened as a burger bar and, loving a good burger, thought, give it a go. Wow, burgers are brilliant, well cooked, juicy with lovely salad, sides are good and drinks are reasonably priced. Service was excellent. We are local and will definitely be back, but would recommend that people from further afield give this restaurant a go, you won't be disappointed.

Had the fat pig burger and rustic fries followed by the biscoff sundea. Absolutely delicious! Best burger I've had in a while, and not too overfilling! Hits the spot without making you feel overfilled. Staff are extremely friendly and the owner is a very funny bloke! Will be coming back.

Fantastic food and drink. Take your time and enjoy all that this place has to offer. A good three courses for two will cost about £100 with drinks. Total value for money.

Fabulous place to hang out with friends. The food is superb and they are very accommodating adapting dishes to suit dietary requirements or even just fussy eaters. A good range of drinks and comfortable surrounding. On a good day the garden is an ideal place to be.
