The Penny Lane in Liverpool

Just been to Penny Lane Wine Bar for Mother’s Day lunch . Roast dinner was amazing .. best roast potatoes I’ve had eating out .. Annemarie and paul are brilliant waiting on staff and James the manager was really lovely . The desserts .. Eton mess and sticky toffee pudding were incredible .. and boss live music too . Highly recommended if you want an authentic eating experience . Definitely coming back . Congrats PLWB.. you should be proud . Eve and Medb 🥰

As new locals to penny lane we thought we’d enjoy the sun in a new pub. Couldn’t recommend this pub enough. Really lovely garden with fab tunes and live music! Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Anne-Marie was especially lovely, couldn’t recommend enough.

A go to bar for a quiet drink and excellent food in the daytime. The venue comes alive in the evening...still with good food and on a Friday ,live music. Great time whatever the time of day Thankyou to Paul and the PL team.

The place is very nice and warm. Super friendly service, we noticed that it is ideal for drinks but not for eating. In our case the portions were tiny (3 lamb meatballs per plate). We thought it was expensive for the amount. Yes, exquisite

Amazing sunday lunch today! Had them before and I'm sure they get better each time! Service was great, really friendly staff and well organised. The food is superb, i went for the vegan sunday lunch and every element of the dish is well seasoned, flavourson and leaves you wanting more! But, the portions are perfect and i couldn't of eaten another thing, even though i was desperate to try the tirramasu, maybe next week 😉

Best burger and salt and pepper chips by far. Big shout out to Paul our server who was fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Me and my friend went on a Wednesday night for bottle of wine Paul was our server for the night and he was amazing making sure our food was perfect we ordered twice the smash burgers were so good , Paul was lovely and so attending with the best attitude will be back again also selection in music was great !

Paul served us and was funny and polite lovely atmosphere great place to go couldn't recommend it highly enough

We have stopped in here for lunch twice and were delighted to find that we were remembered by the staff. The 2nd time was around Christmas and we had a lovely full Turkey dinner.

I recently visited the Penny Lane Wine Bar in Liverpool and had an absolutely delightful experience. I recently went down to the penny lane wine bar where i was greeted by the most friendliest staff who made me feel safe and welcome all night i could not say one negative thing about any of them from the moment i sat down lexi welcomed us with a warm smile and made me feel comfortable she was incredibly attentive checking in frequently to ensure i had everything i needed without being intrusive.Biggest praise to the chef the food was amazing definitely be back the vibes were perfect.

Absolutely great bar. All the food is amazing and such lovely small plates so you can have a nice variety. But the Sunday roasts are of the Richter scale, so so nice. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Higjly recommend.

Nice atmosphere with happy friendly people

Nice atmosphere friendly staff and dog friendly. Always a plus. Gets very busy after 6pm so if you want a girly chat over a glass of wine get there early before the young crowd arrive.

Had the small plates 2 for £15, big portions everything was delicious we had prawns, lamb balls, seafood croquettes, and crispy chicken tighs all presented really well. Highly recommend. Staff are really nice and friendly

We went to the Penny Lane Wine Bar because we had seen it forever but never tried and heard they are dog friendly. It didn't disappoint! We all had a different starter, a different Sunday roast and the resident dog welcomed our pug who was so relaxed for once - I've never seen him so happy somewhere before. Food was delicious even the veggie main I was a bit nervous for. And we booked for my dogs birthday and they didn't have a pork sausage left so brought the pork offcuts for him, after I explained he had a chicken allergy. He was OBSESSED with it and is actually pretty fussy. Overall we had gorgeous food, a really lovely relaxed lunch in a place that is truly dog friendly. We will absolutely be back again!

New menu. Food very nice - the crispy chicken and the lamb dishes were devoured with gusto. Staff attentive and very, very good. Loos are pi** poor. Dirty with broken hand dryers. Shame. Would definitly return if the loos worked properly. Otherwise not. Lots of choice in the area. Sort it out.

Really lovely place. We didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food. Lots of Beatles memorabilia adorns the walls. Decent beers as well as an excellent selection of wines. Cute little beer garden at the back..

Not as good as on my previous visit No guest ales European beers as previously food has definitely gone down hill Previously enjoyed the food but myself and my brother ordered steak neither cooked the way they were ordered and at £17 they should be half decent Disappointing and sadly the rest of our family felt the same way about the food Shame used to be a great place to go for food and a decent beer

I cannot believe the fall from grace of this place. From evening till close this place is full of dealers, the owners must embrace. Merseyside Police need to do a sting in here. A lot of scumbags will be stirring at the back of doors.

Popped in for a drink on Sunday, good atmosphere and food and menu looked good, will return soon to try the food.

Didn't get food, but seen other get it and it looked unreal Came on a Tuesday with my mate, got a few drinks and both the lad bartenders that were on were absolutely lovely! Especially the lad who gave me extra coffee beans with my martini! It's just such a lush vibe and the student prices are great! Will 100% be coming back!

Ordered Philly cheese ciabatta with home made triple cooked chips. Came in a wrap with frozen French fries….not good on a Bank Holiday Monday or any day. Not impressed

Used to be a relatively cheap place with character for locals now it's the most expensive bar in the area now with security guards and locals have understandably gone elsewhere.

1st off all didn't have food no that's why I didn't rate.Was here on the Fri+Sat night,DJ on both nights until 12am and stopped(noise laws) but backing songs on afters...Groovy place with different group ages.So if you want to boycott the centre come here..Staff,prices all top class

Food came swiftly, the nachos were amazing! But my fish burger with chips was massively over-salted and there should've been a lemon on the side to drizzle on the fish as an option, not done for you. The wine is really pricey so it turned out quite expensive due to the drinks.

Have always come here for the pub as atmosphere great and staff are friendly with quick service. We had family over for the weekend and wanted a quick lunch. We had the falafel burger and it was delicious. I asked the chef how it was made and he said he made it from scratch. It was absolutely delicious. Others had the pork belly sandwich pitta I didn't get a pic.

I wrote a review some years ago lamenting PLWB and the good old days. Well I have to be fair and say the current charming lady owner has put her heart and soul and money into the place. Great friendly staff make popping in a real pleasure. Don't just pop in for a drink, make sure you have something off the menu. A great choice and some wonderful veggie options. Don't order too many tapas dishes as you get loads!!! Good prices, excellent food and great service! Penny Lane is back YIPPEE 😁

Extremely busy so we could only sit outside the front as the back was due to close. The chatter was louder than the music so couldn't really hear whar was being played but quick service at the bar 😊

It's a little too studenty on the weekends for my partner and I, but this is my new favourite mid-week pub. The staff are awesome, and they have some great deals on food/drinks during the week! It has a great ambience, good music, and a nice and cozy bar by the fireplace.

First time in my life I’ve been at this bar. What can I say? Great expectations. Huge disappointment. I was expecting for my order - two drinks and some snacks about 40 minutes. It’s could be ok if too many people comes to the bar. But bar was busy for 50% maximum. Very strange. After that - gentleman’s room was busy all the time and everybody was waiting sometimes up to 20 minutes. When I finally came to the toilet cabin - I was shocked how dirtying is. Last time I’ve seen so dirty toilet cabin when I was at the poor village at the Pakistan. I will never come again to this place. All the best.

Avoid at all costs! So many better pubs in the nearby area. Attracts a classless crowd, probably because the owners are so classless and some of the worst neighbours you could ask for. Totally disrespectful to the residents nearby, constantly playing way to loud music, leaving their bins out and generally being very obnoxious. Please support the other local bars which are much better in terms of experience and establishment!

I went to penny lane but it was not for a pub it was for a food factory call[ Wescott Family meat ] The journey was not long approximately half an hour I done my shopping And came back home

Fantastic pub situated on Penny Lane. Great atmosphere, staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is really good! Recommend the speed quiz on a Monday night.

The place seemed nice. Pretty actually. But when I asked when to seat since all the tables were reserved, they said anywhere, oh except in the reserved tables. Check out the wonderful bar down the street; Dovedale towers. Very welcoming!

Old historical site in Liverpool with authentic pictures and buildings still going strong if you want great atmosphere and a place of nostalgia with excellent modern day service and nice food this is the spot to explore and experience some of the old lost culture that invites all cultures to join with great hospitality! Take pictures and videos to make memories of an amazing place that so many people want to go and see year in year out. The vibe is friendly with a wide range of places to go and try! 5/5 on the list to go while traveling or passing by on a date or an afternoon!

Really nice place. We decided to have food whilst there so we placed our order. When the first plate came out we advised it was not what we ordered. After the waitress had a word with the chef, she apologised. She told us to keep the meal for 'nibbles' whilst we awaited our order. She then cam back with 'drinks on the house' and apologised once more. Food was great. Plaudits to them for resolving the issue without question and providing the free drinks. Great service !!

Guinness was lovely and a great selection of wines, Ordered food which was a let down over priced, cold and brought out wrong twice.

I walked passed The Penny Lane Wine Bar a few nights ago, I liked the vibe that I felt of the place and the people. Tonight I decided to call in to try it out. I am so glad that I did. What I found was happy, welcoming bar staff Nick and Grace, really good live music and a bar full of lovely people. Lots of choices of drinks. I had the Somersby's Cider, which was perfectly cold and crisp. I will definitely be returning very soon to try the freshly cooked food and I recommend this place to everyone.

Great pub, but staff are allowing their dogs to roam free in the pub. This is including the kitchen area. Not hygienic.

A busy bar with friendly staff. It was difficult to get served at times because people were crowding the bar but that's the way it works I guess. Would love to go back!

As a musician I play in a lot of bars but none have the same feel as the penny lane wine bar, a great sense of hospitality whenever I'm here, the bar staff are lovely and the food is cookd fantastically, drinks served quickly and filled with friendly regulars ✌🏽

Worst service! Would not recommend. Ordered 5 roast dinners and only got serviced 4 as they forgot. Was only offered a plate of roast potatoes instead!! Then tried to charge us for the 5 roast dinners when we only had 4. Will not be going again.
