I wanted to bring my children here to further their education; instead, we came across a display pushing critical race theory, and another about the LGBT lives of marine life. So we left. The museum curators would do well to remember that so many of us have had enough of this rubbish.

MORE AT Google

World Museum in Liverpool is a remarkable institution that combines education, culture, and history, offering visitors an immersive experience into the natural world, ancient civilizations, and the cosmos. Situated in the heart of Liverpool, the museum is one of the city’s oldest and most beloved cultural landmarks. Originally opened in 1853, it has evolved significantly over the years, becoming a modern and comprehensive museum while maintaining its historical significance. The museum's building itself is an architectural masterpiece, a grand structure that dates back to the 19th century, with a blend of classical and modern elements. Visitors are greeted by a large staircase and a stunning glass dome, which adds to the sense of awe as one enters. The World Museum’s extensive collection spans a wide range of exhibits, making it a must-visit for anyone with an interest in the world around them. One of the highlights of the museum is the Natural History section, which houses an impressive array of specimens from the animal kingdom, including preserved creatures and fossils. The dinosaur exhibit is particularly popular, with life-sized models of prehistoric creatures that captivate both children and adults. The museum’s comprehensive collection of taxidermied animals from across the globe adds to its appeal, allowing visitors to explore the diversity of life on Earth. Additionally, the museum’s hands-on learning experiences, such as interactive displays and exhibits, ensure that visitors engage with the content in a meaningful way. The museum's Ancient Civilizations section is equally captivating, with exhibits dedicated to ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as artifacts from other significant cultures. The Egyptian collection, in particular, is one of the museum’s most cherished, featuring mummies, statues, and jewelry that provide a fascinating glimpse into life thousands of years ago. The ancient civilizations section invites visitors to step back in time and explore the rich history and achievements of these great cultures. In addition to the historical and natural history exhibits, the World Museum has an impressive space and astronomy section. This section showcases the wonders of the universe, including displays on the solar system, stars, and galaxies, along with models of spacecraft. The planetarium, located within the museum, offers an immersive experience, taking visitors on a journey through space with stunning visuals and informative shows. One of the museum’s greatest strengths is its commitment to family-friendly experiences. The interactive exhibits, child-friendly activities, and educational programs make it an ideal destination for families with young children. There are also temporary exhibitions that cater to diverse interests, ranging from art and science to history and technology, ensuring that there is always something new and exciting to explore. World Museum also provides a range of educational programs and events, offering school groups and visitors the opportunity to engage with experts in various fields. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always ready to assist with questions and provide context to the exhibits. The museum is free to enter, making it an accessible and affordable option for anyone visiting Liverpool. Its location in the city center is convenient, with easy access to public transport, shops, and restaurants, making it an ideal stop for both locals and tourists alike. In conclusion, World Museum Liverpool is a treasure trove of knowledge and culture, offering something for everyone. Whether you’re fascinated by the wonders of the natural world, the mysteries of ancient civilizations, or the vastness of space, this museum provides an enriching and engaging experience. Its combination of fascinating exhibits, interactive displays, and educational programs ensures that it remains a must-visit destination in Liverpool.

I love museums in Liverpool but especially this one.Not only because they are free to enter (except for special events), the beautiful architecture of the sandstone building itself is rich in history. The staff are always pleasant and helpful. Sometimes rooms are closed, and speciman draws can't be opened. On these occasions, this can be disappointing, however. on the whole well worth a visit. I would Recomendation: as it is a popular venue for school children to visit during term time, if this bothers you. I recommend visiting later in the afternoon when they have all gone back to school.

I was disappointed with the museum overall. The displays in some cases were not lit at all. In others, the lighting was too dim to make out what you were looking at. Some of the displays had buttons to press to make something happen, and these all didn't work. The items on display were, for the most part, dirty and covered in a visible thick film of dust. The whole place has a run-down feel to it. On the plus side, the food in the cafe was tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly.

ACTION NEEDED: Please monitor lifts. My partner had to wait 30 minutes to enter a lift to leave the building. As a wheelchair user, this was his only way out of the building. I honestly thought we would be there for hours until I asked one of the reception staff for help. Staff had a very blasé attitude, saying "oh it always happens around this time of day, people get lazy." I urge you to reconsider how you'll respond to someone in this situation in future. Just ordered from this restaurant and found a clump of hair in my food, specifically around the corn. When I called the restaurant to let them know they tried to tell me it isn’t hair but strands from the plastic fork. However the fork wasn’t even in the box of food. It was at the bottom of the bag and the hair is longer than the fork. Sadly I won’t be able to eat the food and terrible customer service

The hotel has a ridiculous number of policies - enforcing ID checks (which no other hotel in the UK I have been to requires), not taking American Express and not accepting pay wave for their £100 deposit. Overall the hotel is extremely inflexible on very basic points and it made the stay a deeply uncomfortable experience. There are better value and more pleasant hotels in Liverpool.
