Very decent pub with pretty tasty pizzas, I'm an older bloke who likes cutlery and range of oils, salt + pepper. All else fine 👍

Great local pub. Excellent beers in particular their own Five Points Brewery range. Definitely worth a look. Food looks good - didn't get a chance to try it. Updated August 2023 - great pub with great beers - brewed locally. Very good pizzas. Altogether a good place to be. UPDATE February 2024 - still a cracking place to drink. Great beers and excellent pizza. Get there. UPDATE November 2024 - still going strong. Excellent beers quality atmosphere and good pizza. Highly recommended.

Being a sober person who loves the pub, and spends a lot of time in them, I always investigate where to go for a good zero alcohol pint before I go. This is especially important on a date as sobriety is a conversation that one should have in their own time and not forced to by circumstances. I had emailed The Pembury Tavern the day before my date to ensure they had a zero alcohol pint and was told they did. When I arrived the woman behind the bar told me they had run out the previous weekend (again, I had emailed the day before and wasn’t asking theoretically) and went on to tell me how they made £10000 at the weekend so didn’t have anymore. Also that they didn’t have any zero alcohol bottled beer either. So unfortunately I ended up having to drink a pint of coke / pepsi on my date whilst he had a pint, and having to open up about sobriety before I was ready. It was a disappointing experience and unfortunately left me feeling upset. The pizzas were good but will also say, when our 2 pizzas arrived I mentioned how I’d forgotten to get a dip and the same woman from the bar brought one over and I thought ‘okay this is nice of her’ (considering she could see I was upset about the lack of zero alcohol options earlier) and left, and then came back 2 minutes later with the card machine to charge me £2 for the dip. Left the pub £40 poorer, forced to look like a kid drinking a fizzy drink on a date, and disappointed by what I had hoped would be a nice evening at the pub.

Popped in for a pre-gig beer, didn't eat here but definitely pop in again and try a pizza.

Struggling to remember this place. I'd just been to the NFL match at Tottenham and headed back into London. Vaguely remember some spicy and sweet pizza with a really thin base. The pizza was definitely hitting the spot! And I recall it was quite bright inside!

Great pub but there was an absolute bellend called Tom ⬇️

Call me old fashioned but I'm not a fan of seeing recently born babies being breastfed in public houses. The pub resembled a creche this afternoon and was not to my liking.

The meatball marinara pizza sandwich was brilliant. Good beer too.

I have been to TPT lots of times as i live close by it's probably the best pizza i've had in London..i always have a standard Margarita bar staff really friendly decent selection of beers

Very good Five Points Brewery pub about five minutes walk from Hackney Downs Station. Four cask beers - and two ciders - on handpump when I last visited including a porter. A few tables outside at the front. Interesting looking pizza menu.

Discrimination against introverted people. One member of staff assumed I was too drunk (after 1 pint) and didn't serve me anymore, because I wasn't talking much and couldn't integrate with the group of people (I didn't know most of them) having booked the place for a birthday party. I always recommend the Pembury Tavern and been there numerous times, but this was just ridiculous and I just left.

Probably up the in my top five London pubs, spacious, light filled, good location. Fabulous selection of craft beers, pizzas were very tasty. My only note was the bathrooms weren’t very clean but it was a Saturday night and the team was busy so it was understandable .

Best pub ever! It’s our local but we would be sad if we ever have to move out to leave this pub. It has literally best choice of beer and pizza is insane especially during weekdays. Staff is real, down to earth and honestly good people. The place is always busy, and sometimes crowded over weekends. Honestly good at all seasons.

Have heard this is best pizza North of the river and it’s in my area so decided to try it on my way home. Didn’t expect great things and it didn’t get off to a good start when I had to wait 30 mins from ordering to hand over. But the staff were lovely from recommending a good meat loving pizza option and then letting me know it would be a bit longer to wait etc. When I finally got the pizza they gave me 3 free dips as a kind gesture. Got home and opened it up and was pleasantly surprised! It looked amazing! 😍 I ordered the honey pie with extra cheese and extra pizza sauce. (I lived in NY in my youth and the pizza there is legendary so I was ready to take no prisoners! 😅) Well I have to say that with all the cheese it was hard to hold because the pizza is so thin and it was all over my hands but I didn’t care because it was a culinary explosion in my mouth! I literally haven’t had such a good pizza in years! 🥰 It was totally worth the 30 min wait as I was late for a show and the subsequent Uber I had to end up taking! 🙈😂 Wow! Soooo good! And I’m not a pizza crust eating lady but I literally ate every single bit of that pizza! Had half of it then went to the show and the other half later when I got home. It reheated well in my countertop oven and was so delicious! Would definitely recommend you cross London for this pizza! Was tempted to gate-keep this but sharing is caring. 🫶 The pub is lovely inside as well and even though I don’t drink, I’d definitely go there for a pizza and a coke with friends. 💚

I found that the pub smelt quite bad inside and the outside was not ideal because the traffic constantly buzzes past. I found that the alcohol selection was decent!

Used to be a pretty cheap pint in here, but much has changed! Still, a nice pub with a great selection of drinks.

Super pub, great staff especially Drew who was extremely kind in helping us with our drink choices, atmosphere buzzing, loved our pizza and would highly recommend a visit , actually a must visit place!

Went for the pizza which didn't disappoint. Really tasty, well made, and nice variety. You have to order at the bar which wasn't clear at first. Bathrooms definitely needed some attention but besides that, would revisit!

Very good pizza. Good dough with good chewiness, cheese great and plenty, good sauce. Variety of dips and free chili oil. Garlic cheese bread was also good. Didnt try the beers. You have to order at the bar

My favourite local pub. Five Points brewery make wonderful beers (the Pale Ale is my go-to), and this pub also always has a good selection of guest craft beers and cask ales. The pizzas are also fantastic.

Popped in for a pre and post gig beer enjoying a local Five Points Porter which was full of flavour and a DEYA which had found its way from Cheltenham. Friendly staff and relaxed customers. Nice pub to go for peace and quiet or chat with friends and enjoy good beers. Did not try the pizza this time.

Edit: Switching to five stars due to the excellent service of two staff members and the wonderful dj sets they have on some Fridays.

Cool pub. Great vibe. Excellent beer selection from Five Points and other breweries. Drop Project West Coast IPA pictured. Bar billiards table is very cool, don't see that very often. Staff were a mixed bag, one guy was extremely funny/friendly. His female colleague, however, was grumpy, patronising and lacking in basic social skills. We all have bad days I suppose.

After buying a Pizza directly after my party, their's arrived in a reasonable length of time, by the time they were finishing I went in search of my food! After finally finding an available member of staff, I was offered a Pizza (not quite sure it was my order, as it had salad with it). I asked if it was hot enough, then basically to be asked, feel the tray for yourself...! I then took my Pizza to the table myself- then realising I hadn't been given napkins... went back and was then given the dip that I had already paid for... Not good enough, especially considering the price of the food.

Excellent atmosphere, lovely staff. Please just do not order the double pepperoni pizza. How much pepperoni is too much pepperoni ? Well tonight I finally found my answer. They should put a salt warning on that bad boy, it was a pepperoni nightmare. Great pizza otherwise. Tread cautiously.

Don't mind child friendly but Sundays are like a crèche. Fortunately they've mostly departed by 7pm. Great friendly staff and management, great beer great pizza and great vibes

Love the seasonal selection of beers and ales. Went to visit for St Davids day and enjoyed a couple of lovely Welsh ales. 🐉🍺

Fantastic pizza, great family Sunday lunch. The kids table arts and crafts were brilliant. Staff really nice.

Lovely experience , probs the best pizza I’ve had outside of Italy . The evening in this pubs takes you straight back to the 70’s and 80’s with some of the funkiest music from that era played by the in house DJ .

Magnificent as ever. One of the best pubs in London, if not the UK.

This place is a real gem if you're looking to drink cask ales. Excellently kept ales that are hand pumped through a sparkler top. Prices are kept very reasonable and there's usually some good guest beer options on top of the excellent range of Five Points alea. Staff have always been friendly. The venue is clean. What's not to love?

Creepy man at the bar taking pictures and videos of me and my friends. Told the staff about him and said he’s an off duty member of staff and couldn’t serve us as WE we’re causing trouble. Very strange and not experienced anything like this before. Avoid.

A good modern pub, selling fantastic cask ale and new age English beers (Hackney 5 points HQ). Often quite busy and with a mixed bag vibe. A bit disjointed from my experience. More like that of a bar, with little groups spread out. Not too cosy although it is nice and warm and with good lighting. Pizzas seem popular so I assume they're good. Had a solo pint last week and didn't have any patter or niceties with any staff. I've visited a handful of times due to the beer and overall good set up. Good place seemingly to reserve areas as a group.

This pub is fabulous, the vibe was perfect but I wasn’t a fan of either of their IPAs.

My first visit in about 10 years. The pub has moved on from being a Milton brewery outlet operated by Individual pubs to a Five Points outlet. 6 hand pumps with 4 beers plus 14 keg taps. Still definitely worth a visit.

A really nice pub. An old working mens club to be taken over by a trendy brewery could be a recipe for disaster but this is a really nice place. It gets busy but never too busy. The pizza is great. Best of all it has an old bar billiards table, not many of them around anymore, hope it stays there forever

there was no option to pay in cash, so I have to give a poor rating as other places offer a lot more flexibility in this regard

I came here for the pizza, which I was told is the best in London, and while I'm not sure I agree, it's definitely worth the conversation. It was really good. The pub in general has a great vibe, a large indoor area that was buzzing with happy clientele. The facilities were clean, and the staff were for the most part very cool. There seems to be a great sense of community behind and in front of the bar, and they know their beers. Definitely worth the revisit!

The staff are absolutely incredible apart from the woman behind the bar who is very rude towards children. She is in the wrong industry.

Really lovely pub, our second visit. Staff very friendly. Had the pizza this time (honey pie), it was fab, that crispy base, great toppings, yuuum.

Called in with friends on a Saturday, the bar staff were welcoming and friendly and the choice of beers on offer was great. We had the Ace Pizzas whilst on the visit, fantastic!!!! The building is lovely and has some quirky decor. A must visit when in the area!!!!

I like this place, during the week there is almost always space to sit and it's relatively quiet to have a convo over a pint.

We came in at six o clock on a Friday for a drink and a pizza. No Budvar anymore which is a shame. New items on the menu which were tasty but the pizzas arrived Luke warm. This is the third time this has happened recently. If you are going to advertise fancy ingredients in your pizzas, you must get the basics right!

I would say drinks quite pricey and should have a broader selection of starters/snacks at least some fries. But the garlic pizza bread is quite nice

Good atmosphere, loud and lively on a Friday night with a DJ. Pizzas were ok, a bit light on cheese, and the gluten free base was premade and not great. Nice to have GF beer on tap though.
