The Pem in City of London, Westminster

Had a drink here with my partner as we returned to the Conrad hotel next door. The window tables were pretty for a relaxing evening but according to the staff, it required reservations and were highly sought after. The bar seats and the table just in front of the bar counter should be the next best. As for the drinks, they were solid. Well curated and executed by the bartender. The service was also attentive and overall, I had a good after dinner experience here.

Lunch here today on theatre trip with my wife Restaurant was very quiet which was a bit of a shame That not withstanding, excellent service, very good wine and good food Emma had the cheese soufflé for starter (highlight) and monk fish main I had the crab crumpet (nice - wasn’t 100% sure on the crumpet) excellent venison main No room for dessert although did share the cheese plate (bit pricey for what it was I thought but good nonetheless) Very nice experience Thanks

I could have just eaten the bread and butter all night and I’d have still given a 5* review. Visited last week for a business dinner. From start to finish the food and wine was excellent. The freshly baked bread was still warm, my crab starter was incredible and venison melted in the mouth. The lemon meringue dessert was a triumph. I was lucky that this was a work event and I wasn’t paying the bill, but I will hopefully go back in my own time because it felt like it was worth the money. Great service too.

Visited with friends. Met in their large cocktail bar connected to the restaurant - ideal as it was lively but not overcrowded. The restaurant itself is really stylish but it’s definitely not style over substance as the food was amazing. Call out to their staff as they are very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!

Sally Abe and her team will take you on a fine dining culinary experience. From the minute you arrive service is attentive confident and relaxed . The food is five star delux and a Michelin star must come soon . from the amuse canapé to deserts is pure fine dining . Monkfish perfectly cooked., quail Ballantine succulent and melding . Blackcurrant teacake was a cracker . Lemon meringue plate as good as any 3 star dessert we have experienced . Look forward to spring menu change when we look forward to a second visit . Not sure what the arrangement is with this hotel but our view is one of the delux 5* hotel must come in for Sally .

This was our second visit to The Pem and it was once again fabulous. We went for the Thanksgiving dinner and the food was exceptional from start to finish. What made it more special was that all our dietary requirements were taken care of with both gluten and dairy allergies and this made the kids in our family feel extra well taken care of. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and welcoming, the staff were great and each course was greeted with an "oooohhh". It was hard for everyone to pick a favourite part as everything was delicious! My daughter is also a big fan of Chef Sally who came out and said hi to her at the end of the meal too, which was brilliant for! Great food, great memories, can't wait to come back!

Gorgeous on the eye and on the tastebuds! Beautifully presented and deliciously more-ish! The wine pairings were superb. Ambiance was beautiful. Service was excellent!

Super night out with great dishes booked through Amex . The restaurant and atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. The host of the London Food Festival introduced the chef and Sally Abe’ gave a good introduction to the experience ahead.

Although the food was good, our group felt the setting and service were a bit pretentious. Before even being seated we were shown a menu - not by our request - and we interpreted that to mean they didn't think we could afford to eat there. We weren't dressed shabby, just apparently didn't fit the stereotype of their typical diner. Again, the food was good but due to the overly formal atmosphere (my opinion) and slow service I would not dine here again.

My partner and I hosted a dinner for visiting friends and they were wowed. A delicious meal ( I would particularly recommend the Knife and Fork Bacon starter) washed down by interesting and very enjoyable wines recommended by the delightful sommelier. Charming service and a very relaxed atmosphere . A great choice for a special night out

I was staying at the hotel, so thought I ought to try it out. The food itself was incredible. I asked the waiter what he recommended, and he said the trout for starters, and then the Fallow deer for main course. The trout was absolutely delicious- the flavours paired so well together. I usually stay just to fish, but decided to go with the Fallow deer on his recommendation and that was also was amazingly tender. The wine list is seemingly endless, with some fantastic wines and all wines seem to stick to the Head Sommelier’s style of independent vineyards. Food aside, the service and the feel of the restaurant is great. While it definitely is made for couples, it is also open and inviting for solo travellers. The waiters really appear as if they love their job. I unfortunately only got the names of Matteo & Valeria BUT Matteo, Valeria and the entire staff made the experience so much more memorable. Highly recommended anyone who looking for an up and coming fine dining restaurant with an enthusiastic waiting team and chefs!

All the food we had was extremely good, so why not 5 stars? At these prices I need to be be wowed for 5 stars. We both had the venison, which was excellent, but (I am perhaps a philistine) I feel that meat dishes need some carbs (ideally potato) to provide balance .... and there were no side dishes on offer. I was a bit surprised there was no cheese option in the desert list either. Overall very good, but not quite the full house.

Absolutely fabulous restaurant, wonderful service excellent serving. A relatively narrow menu, but that is, of course, an advantage. I was not feeling too well on the night, I just asked for a starter, no main course, which was to some extent a shame, but my mushroom soufflé was simply beyond marvelous. My wife also was only capable of a main course. She said that her monkfish was wonderful. The wines by the glass were quite pricy, but just what do you expect in a five star Michelin restaurant? My wife said hers was lovely. I could not imbibe alcohol thus my sparkling non alcohol rose was equally excellent. We could not fault this wonderful restaurant, food and service were sublime. We are definitely going to return to partake in a more extensive offering from this fabulous eatery, a wonderful restaurant deserving of it’s Michelin rating.

Restaurant is in Conrad St James Hotel and was convenient as that was where we were staying. We reserved a table in advance for Saturday evening and were surprised to find the restaurant less than half full (perhaps because this was January?). The service was first class with the waiter being attentive. We were seated in a booth which could have seated four but was comfortable and semi private, a nice touch. The food style is described as Modern British and was delightful. A special shout out to the puddings, my apple pie and my wife's lemon meringue were in a phrase "to die for". We chose to have bottled water with the meal and happily were not made to feel pressured into ordering wine. Similarly there was no pressure to leave the table immediately we finished the meal. All in all a very pleasant evening.

We had a lovely family Christmas lunch. The menu was well planned out, perfect from beginning to end. The service was delightful and food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas dinner!
