Very expensive for what it is. Give it a miss.

Lovely place with excellent service - really friendly staff - and very good food. A nice location on a busy street with a much bigger offering in terms of space, food and drinks than you'd expect. Cocktails are excellent (beekeeper!) and a quick drink here is worth it. Only drawback is that it tends to be more quiet, although I may have gone at the wrong time last couple of times. If being at a more quiet, less packed place is your thing, then you'll love it.

Needed to write a review to thank Pariya who was beyond kind, lovely and so so helpful - I have an allergy and she checked all the ingredients/dishes for me so thoroughly! Highly recommend! She is amazing! (I went to the cafe not the restaurant but they are the same establishment, I think, just next to each other :) )

The food was delicious and so was the coffee. The environment is very spacious and comfortable, and the decoration is elegant. Perfect for a quiet meal or gathering with friends.

A fantastic antipasti sharing plates spread including gorgeous octopus, Sicilian DOC red wine, delicious Sunday roast lunches and fab beautifully presented desserts coupled with pleasant service @kitchenatholmes !

The Holmes signature 'White Lasagne' is highly recommended.

Our stay at Holmes hotel was amazing from all sides. The hotel is impeccably nice and clean with a very good location. The food is excellent. We tried the Padron peppers, grilled aubergines, Linguine with Prawn, sirloin,…I mostly want to highlight the exceptional service offered by the staff, particularly by Costas and Silas at the restaurant.They are amazing individuals and they go above and beyond for the client to be happy and well served. A very nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced for this area. However the service leaves much to be desired. There appeared to only be one waiter for the entire restaurant on a Friday night which led to a variety of problems. Our drink order was incorrect. The dips we ordered as starters arrived without bread. We were a party of 5 and when the mains were served one dish was brought and the others didn’t arrive for more than five minutes later. We asked for a wine list which was never brought. We had to ask repeatedly for water refills.

We had an excellent lunch at a comfortable table overlooking the bustling kitchen. The restaurant was modern and airy and the menu was varied and interesting, with many sharing dishes that the four of us took full advantage of. We enjoyed every minute and will certainly return in the future.

The standard of the food is very high & the hake dish I had was one of the best fish dishes I have had in a long time. Breakfast was lovely too - nice choice - great portions . Worst excuse for an English breakfast I've ever had anywhere around the world. Next to zero bacon & what was served up was just fat, egg was uneditable & like rubber, baked beans were stale & congealed. No sausage, no butter but given sauerkraut??? And they still wanted payment for something that was inedible.

what a disputable night out with my friend, a lovely atmosphere as soon as i entered the premises and greeted by two lovely members of staff named costa and alex. they accommodated us to our table and described the food in the menu. I ordered a lamb kofce and a stake, both felt really fresh and cocked amazingly(big up the chef andrea). i would recommend coming here with anyone as its a great place to have a conversation with people

They placed us outside, took 20 minutes to have someone come take our order, then came to warn us this side of the terrasse is closing in 10…. Food was good, atmosphere is good, service is why I put that note

The food was frensh and well prepared, but the portion is dispointing. We ordered the fish for two persons. On the menu, the dish includes fish, potatos and the salade. We were served only with the fish at the beginnig. After inquiry, the server bougt only the potatos. We resuired the dessert card after, but never arrived. I really wonder how could the restaurant justify the service charge.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in London. Great flavours, good portions and a wonderful service.

A relaxing haven from the noise and bustle of Baker Street. And it's always nice to get a full pot of tea, rather than just a cup.

Nice and compact menu with very tasty dishes. A bit on the pricey side due to being part of the hotel I guess. Service, a bit slow but very polite and attentive otherwise. Many thanks to Matteo for taking extra care of us! Would recommend for sure.

But if a downer that one of our party had her purse stolen in a relatively empty bar...

Holmes. A place where you feel home. When you arrive there ask for the great fish the make. By the way every food is delicious. I also recommend you to try the magnific cocktail (Mezchillin) made by the barman Ruben. He is a proper barman.

I came here with my friends for a dinner, and as expected the quality of the food was immaculate and tasty. I definitely recommend coming here as a night out to a well kept and unique mediterranean restaurant. I was greeted by Costa and Alex, the service was amazing and i’m definitely coming back again.

I came here for my birthday with my friends and it was an amazing atmosphere which was provided by Costa and his team. They looked after me and my friend and treated us with care and respect. The steak was cooked amazingly by chef Andrea. The lamb kofta was lovely and I don’t think you would find any lamb kofta better than here at the kitchen holmes

Normally a good place to have a business meeting & catch up. This time on a Thursday evening the service was slow & not quite up to the normal. Felt there was a shortage of staff. Hopefully it will get back to its high standards soon.

The food was delicious and I really enjoyed the Sherlock's pipe cocktail that arrives smoking and they even give you a hat to wear if you wish. . Worst experience I’ve ever had trying to book a table for my Auntie’s birthday. They insisted on a £30 deposit a head for a booking of 10, despite initially offering a reservation without a deposit. Typically they allow reservations for up to 8 people with no deposit at all. They dragged their feet so much over the course of a week in which it was very difficult to get in touch with them either by email or phone, with promised follow up contact never materialising unless I chased. I was more than happy to jump through all their hoops but was unsure whether we would necessarily spend £300+ judging by the menu, and my attempt to offer a slightly smaller deposit was just ignored by management. Never have I found it so difficult to get a business to accept my custom!

Great place to get a nice drink with your friends or family. The prices are very respectable. Great refurbishment also. Fully recommended!!

I have been visiting the kitchen at the Holmes’s for over 4 years and unfortunately it has had a notable fall from the high standards it once set. Most notably is the change in staff. I understand times change but what was once a genuinely warm and welcoming restaurant with personality headed up by a charismatic group of Italians has become a dull typical service with no personality and no reason to come back. The personal service offered by the previous staff is what kept people coming back and made the place feel alive. it has lost its spark. Secondly is the price increase. This restaurant for central London used to be excellent value for money but is now extremely over priced. Gone are the days of the sub £25 steak which came with chips to a £35 steak chips sold separately 🤦‍♂️With price increases of %30 and more for some dishes. The restaurant now doesn’t offer any value for money and I consider it over very overpriced. The beef carpaccio served with no salt, the romesco gone from the octopus and the fried squid coming with 4 tiny pieces left a lot to be desired. I actually used to order two carpaccio starters because they were that good and were an affordable £12 What a pity, even if I combined my Raddison vip discount with the %25 off in January i wouldn’t be back anytime soon.

Visited on Christmas Day for lunch, and it was fabulous. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was exceptional.The range of starters were especially superb.The flavours and textures of the pastas were amazing. The roast dinners were succulent and cooked to perfection. WHat can we say about the desserts!! My wife is still dreaming about the pavlova. Had a really nice ambience about it. Overall it was a wonderful experience, and considering its location, good value for money. Would highly recommend, and cant wait to go back.

This was a Christmas menu. Some were unnecessarily precooked and reheated like the turkey and the bass. The result is an overcooked microwaved version of the original. It is expected, at such prices, to cook them just before serving . Also the panetone was stale and the sauce to the ravioli not made with fresh tomatoes but tinned ones. Pitta bread was not grilled, bread with cheese was dry, the chicken liver pate cold and thick and cauliflower Croquettes lost their crispiness from the reheating. Also the sylvaner lost its freshness due to the keeping. Average reheated food at premium prices with very good service

A very lovely restaurant, staff were friendly and attentive and food was delicious. Felt fancy without being expensive or pretentious. We weren't rushed and were able to catch up with friends. Worth a visit!

This place has such a laid-back, relaxing atmosphere. The lighting isn't in your face and the seating makes you feel comfortable. The food is amazing and beautifully presented. Decent portion sizes (especially the chips!). Wonderful staff members.

We came here specifically for the festive feast menu (as advertised on the website) but when we arrived and we’re presented with just the a la carte menu. We were told the festive menus (which are separate to the Christmas Day and New Year menus) were available for Christmas Day only. I checked the website and this was not clear at all, as it says ‘This Christmas, we have a number of exclusive feast menus that are perfect for get-togethers with colleagues and friends during the festive period’. ‘Festive period’ would imply that it’s not just Christmas Day that these would be available. A second staff member who was serving us informed us that there is in fact a sharing set menu available which we weren’t informed about when presented with the a la carte menu. Perhaps the first staff member had forgotten. This menu was of great value: £28.99pp for four sharing starters, one main and one dessert. We also added a carafe of red wine for £20 between us. Standout dishes were the polenta and seasonal mushrooms and chicken thigh pizzaiola. Overall, we enjoyed the food (although the pumpkin flan wasn’t to our taste) and it’s a nice venue but we were disappointed by the unclear website, lack of festive menu available and being informed late about the sharing set menu.

We would like to eat the Sunday Roast, first We asked a taste of appetizers, we've got a lot of deliciuos and special dishes. We tried all Roast, everythings good.!They also cared about my 5years old son.. It's a very nice and elegant place!!!

Absolutely our best meal in London. We stayed at the hotel for a week and found out the best restaurant in our area was in our building!! We are truly going to miss this food. I feel it’s a shame I won’t have it again for a long time. Tuna tartar, avacado salad, chicken dinner and ribeye. We had the same meal two nights during our week stay in London. It’s one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life.

The Kitchen at Holmes is a hidden gem on Baker Street. It looks fairly ordinary outside, but I totally liked the interior when I got in. It's cozy and well decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and wines. All delicious, and the portion is generous. Thanks to Fatmir for looking after us. The whole experience was very pleasant. Definitely go back again.

I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant because it looked like a nice environment and most of all I was hungry. However, I found that this restaurant did not give me a good experience. The service wasn't good...........the flavours were mediocre and I wasn't satisfied.

Okay - party of two - we ordered for three or a sensible four. Why? Because the menu is so damn appealing and we incorrectly assumed all of these dishes couldn’t be as well executed as their descriptions implied, so we over ordered prepared to accept a few failures. Silly us. Every single plate was entertaining and well composed. Execution flawless. So here’s a problem, we couldn’t pick a favorite - the one that was absolutely better than the rest. They were all that good. Love that you can see the kitchen from so many tables. Love the decor, cutlery, table and glassware and service. But most of all we love the kitchen. Smart, skilled and talented. Was our first visit and it won’t be our last.

Absolutely lovely dinner. Enjoyed many of the 'small dishes' and every one was superb. Very tasty and also some unusual flavours, particularly the yellowtail tiradito and the ragu. The courgette tempura were light and crispy. Perfect. Went with family and had a great evening. Cocktails and drinks also excellent. Service was knowledgeable and professional and there wasn't a wait for the food to arrive. I would highly recommend.

We visited last night and enjoyed the ambience and the food. The only disappointing thing was that the on line wine menu lists white wines starting from £26, with 6 under £40. The wine menu however on the table only had one wine for under £40. I ordered that and was told it was out of stock. Not a great start, however the food was good and overall we enjoyed it, it just felt as though we’d been pushed into spending more in the wine that we would normally choose to do so

Décoration soignée, service de haute qualité. Quant à la cuisine, cela vaut largement des restaurants gastronomiques réputés en France ! Un véritable régal, un concept de partage du repas qui augmente le plaisir et la convivialité ! Bravo !

Went with my friend to have a dinner there. It is unforgettable experience. The interior is very nice, table are quite from others so it is very nice to have a nice chat with friends. Service was excellent. Very attentive service, friendly and professional. BUT FOOD WAS THE BEST. We tried a couple of starters. Tuna tartar was my favorite one, meat very soft with sauce on top of it. Croquettes were really lovely, a nice starter to share. For the main we had Swordfish and lamb cutlets. Swordfish was really delicious with a nice sauce salsa verde on top. Lamb cutlets were tasty as well. Thanks to wonderful recommendation we ordered two desserts , bonet and panna cota. I always try panna cotta in any place I go and this is one was one of the best. For people who really like chocolate and want to eat nice desserts , bonet is a great one to try. And very nice concept with open kitchen, we had a table near the kitchen, it was really nice to see all the work. Coctails were nice as well. 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend and be back soon!

Lovely place with beautiful interior and friendly atmosphere. Had a dinner here today and it was an amazing experience. The staff was attentive and helpful. Food was really delicious. We shared a couple of starters and for my main I had lamb cutlets. Desret menu is nice too and most of the deserts are home made. Panna cotta was absolutely delicious! I will definitely come back.

I have come to this place twice and both occasions have been awful. The first time I came with my family and It took almost half an hour to 45 mins for our drinks to come as they ‘forgot’. The second time I came alone and sat down waiting to order a drink and no one came to me to order instead everyone else that walked in got served before me, so I just walked out. AWFUL service never coming to this place again. Staff all need training.

We were 6 people for dinner.It was amazing,helpfull staff,delicious food,quiet atmosphere,will come back.

Came here for a brunch and it was alright. Ordered a shakshuka which was average and sweet potato which was pretty burnt and had no taste. Sat and waited for a while to order and a lady too was waiting long enough and left. Overall a 3/5, it does have nice outdoor terrace for the summer but food can be better.

Maybe it was a bad day, and we still had a nice time and the servers were nice, but service was pretty slow and the food was a mix of really nice and disappointing. Staff were friendly and the drinks were good, the nibbles were great. We tried the tuna, plaice, chicken and sides. All of the sides were really nice and the plaice was really good quality, would recommend. But the tuna was a little underdone for us, maybe it's a preference, but the chicken was also bit underwhelming too. We were offered some drinks as we were celebrating a birthday, and to reiterate staff were really nice, but the service was just taking a while to get round.

Last minute visit after a quick search for a relaxed place for an evening drink around Baker Street. The staff was adorable - extremely polite and helpful. Our beer was chilled to perfection and shared snack board was magnificent!!

I work 5 minutes away from this place, so whenever I am craving good quality lunch and can spend a bit more money on it, I'd come here. Loving the take-away lunch boxes of protein + 3 salads for £13. The food is always delicious and fresh, and staff are very friendly. The place looks great to sit down for a bite, too. Would recommend to anyone in the area!
