The Kitchen at Holmes in City of London, Westminster

Dined at the Kitchen at Holmes Hotel. The ambiance was spot on, and the service couldn’t be faulted — warm, attentive, and professional. Sadly, the food didn’t match. Overpriced, bland, and forgettable. Feels like all the effort went into the setting and staff, and the kitchen was an afterthought. Expensive disappointment.

I have concerns about the hygiene in this restaurant. I saw the cook placing French fries on the plate with bare hands—no gloves, nothing.

Kostas was the perfect host for a lovely evening catching up with friends. The sharing plates were delicious!

We stayed at the hotel and dined at the restaurant a few times. The food was great each time, fresh and good flavours. The ambience and service were very nice too. We were served by Julie (thank you).

Habíamos reservado su encantadora y acogedora sala de estar para celebrar un cumpleaños, y me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para encomiar a Kosta por su excepcional servicio. Su profesionalidad y flexibilidad, desde la etapa de reserva hasta el final de la noche, fueron realmente notables. Muchos de mis amigos estaban visitando su hotel por primera vez, y quedaron muy impresionados con el servicio al cliente de Kosta. Está claro que la experiencia no se trata solo del lugar, sino en gran medida del excelente servicio prestado por el maravilloso personal de The Holmes Bar, bajo el liderazgo del legendario Kosta. Great food, great service, always great

Tuvimos una noche increíble aquí en Holmes, el concepto es genial! ¡El cóctel ahumado especializado en un tema Holmes es realmente increíble! ¡De un gerente de una coctelería esto realmente dio en el blanco! Had a very lovely meal at this restaurant. The food was very good and the service of a high standard. Prices were very reasonable. We had three courses, wine, dessert wine and coffee for less than £100 each. The atmosphere was pleasant with music at a nice level. Will absolutely return to this restaurant.

This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Firstly the staff were so friendly and welcoming - especially Costas. It was my first time visiting the Kitchen at Holmes and I was made to feel like I’d been there before, felt so at home thanks to the warm nature of Costas and his team. The food was exceptional - absolutely phenomenal. We had a mix of small plates and a couple of the larger plates - I couldn’t pick a favourite as they were all absolutely delicious in their own way. The presentation of the plates was stunning too. The ambience of the restaurant was just perfect - so cosy and homely, beautifully decorated and all of the staff made the experience truly exceptional - and of course the scrumptious food! I can’t wait to go back!

One of my favorite restaurants, where I often dine. The food is delicious and of high quality. The service is excellent. Today, my husband and I had lunch there, and we were treated to a complimentary dessert. It was incredibly delicious!

Ugh! We waited an hour and 10 minutes for two dishes and were alone in the restaurant, after about 35-40 minutes a waiter comes with two beef carpaccio and says, this is for you, sorry for the wait (we didn't order them, in our country when the wait is long then from the kitchen they send an appetizer to account for the wait, which we thought was going to happen, but apparently it wasn't). Then we went to pay and saw those two beef carpaccio on the bill, told the waiter that we didn't order them but he brought them himself, he just laughed and said you ate them. Be careful!

Dining at Sherlock Holmes's Restaurant was an extraordinary experience. The ravioli with truffle was simply divine, and the sea bass for sharing was beautifully presented with delicate flavors. The staff were incredibly attentive, and Emmanuel, the chef, delighted our taste buds with his subtle yet sophisticated culinary combinations. An exquisite dining experience that left us craving more!

I've just finished my meal here and everything was so wonderful! The staff were wonderful and polite. The food was exquisite and beautifully displayed. But what I loved the most was the open kitchen concept. It was an inviting atmosphere that allowed us to see the sheer delight and enjoyment on the faces of the chefs as they perfected their art. Love, love, love this place!

Great small plates selection and vibe. All for ordered was delicious. Great for sharing - ordered a variety of dishes all were good. Service was quite slow - took a while to take drinks order and then food and not too attentive. Vibe and decor of the place was nice. Good place for small plate / sharer food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Kitchen at Holmes, and I must say the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Delicious food. Pricey for what you get, especially when you're getting nickel and dimed for a bread basket (£5.50) to accompany starters that should come with it (e.g., burrata) and bottled water. We had to ask several times for the waiter's attention to get our bill.

We booked here easily through their website and even amended the time online with no trouble. A very welcoming entrance and luxurious feel when entering. The staff are super friendly, coats were taken and hung up and they had the right balance of attentiveness to provide excellent service. The drinks came quickly and so did the food. Very good food but for me just a little too small a portion. We had dessert which was sublime. They do add a service charge but was worth it.

I have travelled the world visiting 90 plus countries, dined at MICHELIN restaurants, stayed in luxury hotels but I have never paid £5.50 for a 200ml tiny bottle of Diet Coke plus service charge. This was almost the same price as my dinner at a restaurant opposite where I had a whole pizza! This is daylight robbery. I understand if it was a cocktail or a bigger size, but 200ml? I was not shown a menu. To top it off, I had to wait ages to be served. When I wrote to them after, I was offered a complimentary drink on return. I declined this offer as I will be abroad and unable to come back. I asked for a refund instead, but I was ignored despite numerous emails! This is how they treat customers with no care. It is unfair to charge customers so much for a tiny bottle of Diet Coke and then add service charge for bad service. This is really not great. To top if off, they ignore customers when they complain. No concern for guests. It is a nice venue but that is all.

Loved the cocktails by the Master of mixologist Mr. Ruban.. He is a charming guy worth of the praise. His cocktails and drinks are perfect every single time! Overall, it’s one of the best restaurants in London which I would highly recommend.

Top place to meet people good service and decent food

I have recently been to the new Sherlock Holmes hotel after a long time. I appreciated the new interior design and menu. In particular, I got the chance to taste the ricotta and truffle ravioli: I must say it was beyond delicious!! Moreover, Mr. Simone, the manager, was not only knowledgeable but also attentive during the service so that any guest could have a memorable experience at the Sherlock. I shall definitely return soon for more!

We had two meals at Kitchen At Holmes, going back a second time as we enjoyed it so much. A very stylish restaurant but still friendly and welcoming. Our very knowledgeable waiter, the lovely Costa, advised us on the small plates and the resulting meal was delicious. Thank you Costa! 💙

Great place for fine dining. Can be a bit slow on service but gives time to enjoy the experience. Highly rate: Charred aubergine, Yellow tail tiradito and Courgette spaghetti. Sea bass, Tender stem broccoli and strawberry delice Good : Hummus, beef carpaccio and Ravioli Ricotta and Affogato. Shame that they won't serve any bread or olive oil with the starters and small bites. Prices are above average and portions a tad tight.

We had a fantastic evening. Great food. we shared a big selection of appetizers, and every one had a main dish as well as a dessert. fantastic authentic tiramisu.

War nahe, bei unserem Hotel, sind wir hin gelaufen. Außen Restauration nicht genutzt, haben drinnen gesessen mit Blick auf die offene Küche. Ambiente, zeitgemäß und gut. Die Bedienung von sehr freundlich bis sehr langsam alles dabei, einer Kellnerin hätte man im Laufen die Schuhe besorgen können, Vom Essen her nichts auszusetzen, die Lasagne sehr mächtig, die frittierten Zucchini äußerst schmackhaft. Auch die Auberginen mit geschlagenem Feta Käse super lecker.

This is the perfect place for a quick affordable and high quality lunch or coffee meeting with an amazing atmosphere and pleasant staff in a central area in London. Been going here for years and it’s just really great value for money.

Lovely place with excellent service - really friendly staff - and very good food. A nice location on a busy street with a much bigger offering in terms of space, food and drinks than you'd expect. Cocktails are excellent (beekeeper!) and a quick drink here is worth it. Only drawback is that it tends to be more quiet, although I may have gone at the wrong time last couple of times. If being at a more quiet, less packed place is your thing, then you'll love it.

Loved this place.. just walked by and hungry and decided to give it a blind try. No prior knowledge, just fancied the menu outside: Amazing service, cold Champaign, succulent hake, so tasty. Service was just on point, courteous, exact, pleasant. Familiar and beavering kitchen staff. The floppies were devine, Eat tiramisu I have ever eaten, if this I what the restaurant is like we need to stay there.

Needed to write a review to thank Pariya who was beyond kind, lovely and so so helpful - I have an allergy and she checked all the ingredients/dishes for me so thoroughly! Highly recommend! She is amazing! (I went to the cafe not the restaurant but they are the same establishment, I think, just next to each other :) )

The service was really good, especially Kanya. Also, the food was excellent. I highly recommend the zucchini fritti and the lamp kofta.

The food was delicious and so was the coffee. The environment is very spacious and comfortable, and the decoration is elegant. Perfect for a quiet meal or gathering with friends.

A fantastic antipasti sharing plates spread including gorgeous octopus, Sicilian DOC red wine, delicious Sunday roast lunches and fab beautifully presented desserts coupled with pleasant service @kitchenatholmes !

Our stay at Holmes hotel was amazing from all sides. The hotel is impeccably nice and clean with a very good location. The food is excellent. We tried the Padron peppers, grilled aubergines, Linguine with Prawn, sirloin,…I mostly want to highlight the exceptional service offered by the staff, particularly by Costas and Silas at the restaurant.They are amazing individuals and they go above and beyond for the client to be happy and well served. A very nice restaurant and very friendly staff. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced for this area. However the service leaves much to be desired. There appeared to only be one waiter for the entire restaurant on a Friday night which led to a variety of problems. Our drink order was incorrect. The dips we ordered as starters arrived without bread. We were a party of 5 and when the mains were served one dish was brought and the others didn’t arrive for more than five minutes later. We asked for a wine list which was never brought. We had to ask repeatedly for water refills.

We had an excellent lunch at a comfortable table overlooking the bustling kitchen. The restaurant was modern and airy and the menu was varied and interesting, with many sharing dishes that the four of us took full advantage of. We enjoyed every minute and will certainly return in the future.

We sat outside and soaked up the vibrancy that is London whilst enjoying the fabulous food and drinks of Kitchen at Holmes. Superb hospitality and delicious food made a lovely afternoon.

Worst excuse for an English breakfast I've ever had anywhere around the world. Next to zero bacon & what was served up was just fat, egg was uneditable & like rubber, baked beans were stale & congealed. No sausage, no butter but given sauerkraut??? And they still wanted payment for something that was inedible.

what a disputable night out with my friend, a lovely atmosphere as soon as i entered the premises and greeted by two lovely members of staff named costa and alex. they accommodated us to our table and described the food in the menu. I ordered a lamb kofce and a stake, both felt really fresh and cocked amazingly(big up the chef andrea). i would recommend coming here with anyone as its a great place to have a conversation with people

They placed us outside, took 20 minutes to have someone come take our order, then came to warn us this side of the terrasse is closing in 10…. Food was good, atmosphere is good, service is why I put that note

The food was frensh and well prepared, but the portion is dispointing. We ordered the fish for two persons. On the menu, the dish includes fish, potatos and the salade. We were served only with the fish at the beginnig. After inquiry, the server bougt only the potatos. We resuired the dessert card after, but never arrived. I really wonder how could the restaurant justify the service charge.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in London. Great flavours, good portions and a wonderful service.

A relaxing haven from the noise and bustle of Baker Street. And it's always nice to get a full pot of tea, rather than just a cup.

Nice and compact menu with very tasty dishes. A bit on the pricey side due to being part of the hotel I guess. Service, a bit slow but very polite and attentive otherwise. Many thanks to Matteo for taking extra care of us! Would recommend for sure.

Holmes. A place where you feel home. When you arrive there ask for the great fish the make. By the way every food is delicious. I also recommend you to try the magnific cocktail (Mezchillin) made by the barman Ruben. He is a proper barman.

I came here for my birthday with my friends and it was an amazing atmosphere which was provided by Costa and his team. They looked after me and my friend and treated us with care and respect. The steak was cooked amazingly by chef Andrea. The lamb kofta was lovely and I don’t think you would find any lamb kofta better than here at the kitchen holmes
