Absolutely rubbish service . Food was cold

It was an excellent meal, we would like to thank all the employees one by one. Especially the service and taste of the food were excellent.

This was my 3rd time going to this restaurant as I typically go whenever I’m in the area. However, this occasion was my 3rd and last time coming. The whole restaurant was infested with flies to the extent where we were struggling to eat our food as it would fly onto our meals. Adding on to this, a waiter accidentally smashed about 5 class cups in front of us, causing glass pieces to fly everywhere all on our clothes etc. At that point we should’ve got up and walked out but we just saw it as an honest mistake to overlook. However, they failed to clean the glass thoroughly, which we then had to keep calling them back to clean large pieces of glass all around us. I was shocked at the level of hazard training as glass can be extremely dangerous if stepped on by adults or kids. I would’ve expected for the restaurant to apologise at least or even offer something as compensation as we had glass all over our clothes but they did neither. We just decided to leave our food and take off the service charge in order to just end the experience as soon as possible. I’m quite appalled to say the least as I had recommended my friend to join me at this restaurant but I guess this is why people say it’s better to eat at home.

The food tasted great. It's street food with fancy prices. But to be fair the salad, bread and desserts are included. All were tasty though. Tea is included as well but we did not have any. Probably why the dishes are a tad bit higher than usual. I don't go to Turkish restaurants often and I'm not sure if that is the norm and it would have been great if they told you these things. We got the dessert, I think it was baclava but they did not say what it was. We also needed to know what was in it to be sure, in case of allergies etc. Whilst service was good, it would have been better if they communicated better and told us the names of the dips. A solid 4 stars.

Unfortunately looked fabulous inside And out We were first timers I knew wasn't going too be good experience but I thought I might be wrong ...started off we were seated the staff kept looking over but they were very intrigued with My partner kept looking and talking about us foood came was OKish we Then had dessert and tea they still looking at us my partner knew I was uncomfortable He sat besides me we took a few photos off ourselves but we could feel the stares We got bill and quickly left Will Never recommend or visit again £71.00 later

Delicious authentic Turkish food for a reasonable price, very fancy as well! The staff is very friendly and considerate.

Have eaten at this place many times, always had nice food until now. Myself & a friend ate there last night, we ordered the mixed kebab for 2. I noticed an odd smell from some of the lamb, the taste was that of meat going off. I spoke to the waiter who just apologised. No one came to talk to us about it, no one gave a damn. Consequently I was sick later on with diarrhoea and vomiting. I’m appalled and we will never eat there again.

This was our first time visiting Selale restaurant. After reading many reviews, we certainly wanted to dine here. Upon arrival the decor and atmosphere was nice. The staff were attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to recommend dishes and to make us feel welcomed. The food was exceptional, in particular the prawn and lamachun. Food was cooked to perfection and the taste was perfect. Thank you for making our first visit memorable, and we will certainly be back with friends and family.

Everything about the restaurant is wonderful. Me and my family come here on a weekly basis for turkish breakfast and it never fails to impress. The service is amazing, the food is incredible and the restaurant itself is beautiful.

Been coming to eat here for over a decade. Everything from food to staff to drinks are top notch. You get lots of free (delicious) bread, salad and dips before your order arrives, something that we always really look forward to and enjoy because its so tasty and a free turkish tea with a baklava after your meal which is the perfect finish. We usually order the chicken shish with yogurt and the lamb beyti and they are by far the best Ive tried at any turkish restaurant. We live far away so dont visit very often, but the food, service and very reasonable prices are worth travelling for. The staff are faultless, friendly, professional and go out of their way to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. The owner is also a really warm, lovely person! My favourite restaurant by far, we will be visiting many more times over the coming years.

Lovely place! Came here for an evening meal, service was on point, atmosphere and food was lovely!! Specifically a big thank you to the lovely man who served our table, very warm, friendly and kind. Didnt catch his name unfortunately! But served us on the back window seat. Update: we come here quite regularly however this time we were really disappointed. The food tasted bland and flavourless. We always get seasoned complimentary bread, this time it was plain and when i told the waiter he said im meant to ask for it? I never usually have to, so i was quite confused by his answer. The food tasted very different to usual, we come here as its usually very flavourful and nice. Today me and my husband left over half of our plate full. My husband is a big eater however he barely ate his meal as he didnt enjoy it. I was very disappointed and asked the waiter if the chef had changed / to which he said no. Not sure what went wrong here but we were really unhappy that we spent £60+ on food we barely ate and was tasteless. Dont think we will be returning after this experience. We come here very regularly for all occasions but will have to look for a new place now!

One of the best Adana kebabs ever had, bread was seasoned and tasty. Service was kind and fast.

Just the BEST charcoal grilled lamb ever. There's always a super fresh juicy salad as a starter and soft warm bread to dip in a selection of sauces. Definitely, one of our faves.

We came to London from Leicester after reading the reviews and I must say you didn’t disappoint. The service and food was impeccable and will surely visit again upon my return. If you want Turkish food guys this place won’t disappoint

I recently ordered two kunefe from selale through Deliveroo and was very disappointed with my experience. The menu description promised kunefe served with syrup and pistachios, and the accompanying picture looked delicious. However, what I received was simply baked plain shredded fillo dough with none of the promised toppings. This was a major letdown, especially considering I was looking forward to a sweet treat. I hope the restaurant improves the accuracy of their menu descriptions and photos to avoid misleading other customers.

Very high quality food, great service and atmosphere. They even play my fav musician Kenny G’s songs, deserves a 6 star!

Always good food but the previously competitive prices have crept up. Back in 2024 for fabulous food. Always friendly, efficient staff. Fab meal.

This restaurant is a favourite amongst my buddies. Despite the scowling female waitress, who thankfully we didn't have much to do with, we were not disappointed. Great selection of food and good sized portions. Everything arrived hot and they gave us free baklava and rice pudding to share (not pictured). The mains were Chicken salad, Halep and Lamb chops. The bill was just over £100 for 3 of us and we took doggy bags home.

Horrible cold dishes and service. Overpriced for the quality of food. However we ate the things that came out of jars, was nice clotted cream and jam. Eggs was hot dishes are served so cold and under cooked though there were very few customers around.

Ferdi’s service was phenomenal!! My sister had the BEST birthday, he was efficient, friendly and catered to our many requests with grace and humour. I’ll definitely be back!

A great restaurant. You can find other Turkish restaurants of similar quality in this region, but you will immediately notice the difference in Şelale's menu and the taste of its food. The music playing in the background does not tire you, the team is wonderful and the service always pleases you. If you go a little further inside, take a look at the section where they prepare the food and you will see how neat and clean it is.

One of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve been to. Took my family here, they were very attentive, very good food and very good staff. Me and my family had a really good time here very good atmosphere. The staff, in particular Emine and Ferdi were very good. I’ve not had this good of service in very long time, was quite refreshing and I’m really happy with Emine and Ferdi. The food was really nice but the staff made the experience. My family was very happy. Excellent, definitely recommend.

Amazing food, even better service. Whole experience was really good came for my mums birthday, they have such a warm welcome and such a good birthday surprise as I asked them to bring out cake for her. She was so so happy. Every time were in North London with my mum it's a must go spot for us! We love it. There are many similar places on the high road but Selale is the best.

Ridiculous prices, Same food as the rest of the shops on Green lanes., but price is soooo much. I asked them if they are halal, the workers were confused what halal even was. Best shop is Diyaarbakir on green lanes or any other shops where they proudly sell halal food and avoid alcohol.

Ferdi was a lovely man who served us very well. It was my first time here and I will be coming again. Free tea, and a free dessert to try yum - food was excellent and moist. Well done everyone - highly recommend. I suggest everyone come here to eat for a treat.

Small portion sizes and bland meat, salad and no tzatiki. I have been a regular customer of a different Turkish restaurant on green lanes for 8 years but after a series of disappointing orders decided to look to use a different restaurant. Plumped for selale due to good reviews. However, I'm sad to report that I'll be continuing my search for a decent replacement restaurant. Selale's offering was basic at best. The meat was not flavoursome, and we got 5 chunks of chicken / lamb...this is way less than other restaurants count as a portion. The salad was fresh but there was no herbs or dressing involved. The bread was really good - soft on the inside and crispy in the outside...if only the rest of the meal had been as good. The side sauces for the meat (chilli / mint) tasted like they had been slopped out of a 5L catering drum. The rice pudding looked very sloppy, and after the mains we had, I just ditched it in the bin. I won't return to Selale. My search for an alternative to "blue skies" continues!

It wasn't as busy when my friend and I went. There was a table with a birthday party which was lovely and another full table on the other end. I must say my yogurt lamb soup was a lil too yogurty for me. I loved the liver I had was well seasoned. Was rather difficult to get service even though there were atleast 6 ppl around. Still doesn't detour me from returning. Maybe next time would be better.

The place itself is so nice and the service was excellent. Special thanks to the waiting staff. However, I wouldn't say the same thing for the food. Kisir was delicious, bread was one of the best and side salad was good but all the other food was low quality. I had vegan platter, it seemed to me either the food was cooked in the same place as meat is or the taste of the oil used is bad. It tasted as if there is a smell of meat in the food. Even the tomato sauce was out of taste, which makes me think that the food was cooked carelessly. It is so overpriced when I think about the taste especially for a Turkish restaurant in Harringay.

The food was ok but the service was dull, no attention to our table unless you really made them pay attention to you. It was Monday night we went the restaurant was not busy, imagine if it was full how long you have to wait for the waiter to come to your table when they delay that in quiet times…!! The cost is overpriced for food and drinks, a bottle of Turkish beer is £7.5 like in the fancy bar in the west end when this is only Harringay Turkish corner shop and take away restaurant street. Never again!!

Just like any beautiful water. The service was flowing staff, was consistent with the service. Food as usual was amazing. The adana kebab on the mix grill was sooooo tasty. The food just great and that all we can ask for. Plus lots to take away.

I've been most of the turkish restaurant on green lane including Gokyuzu, Diyarbakir but must say this is the better place by far.

It's a lovely place, but service was not done with a smile. If you know me, I am a happy go lucky person. But still, this is a beautiful place. Nice birthday songs and cake. Just needs a little bit of a zing.

There's a lot of Turkish restaurants on this road but Selale is the best one! When ever we want to eat Turkish we travel from north west London only to come and eat here.

Absolutely amazing service, generous portions. The waiters and managers were so quick, friendly and amazing at customer service. Hard to find a place that has a balance of everything!

I can say my favourite restaurant is Turkish, The spice, flavour, colour and nutrition of the food makes it one of the best cuisine in the world, Atmosphere was perfect, It was a bit noisy but pleasant. Food was very average nothing creative or outstanding, meat was not seasoned to my taste but fresh, waiters were very polite but in a rush, It was a bit pricey too It was mother's day and we had a good time.♥️

Grilled meats were good. However don’t do mixed rice with bulgur like other places (unless you pay extra), only serve white rice which was bland and lacked flavour. The staff were lovely and our waiter gave us free Turkish tea and a desert on the house as it was super quiet. I would go again just for three deserts (Kunefe & Tresleces)

The food was good. I loved the salads. We ordered Dish no:73 which is steak 🥩 and dish No :22 as well. The steak was not cooked as we wanted so we had half of it. We realized it wasn’t cooked to our expectations. We told the waiter name Ferdi. We were asked if we want something els ? Nop” Great Great customer service as they did not charge us for the dish 73. Thank you 🙏 we will be back again soon

Quiet night at Selale, but it's a school night. We went after work because we were ravenous. We stuffed ourselves and then they brought us free baklava and rice pudding, which by some miracle we managed to force down. Of course they bagged up the leftovers for us.

Great service and food defo coming back

We went to selale last night and both ordered mixer donors, I was really disappointed, The meat was tasteless and both the meat and rice seemed 'watery'. The bread did not seem fresh and even their chilli sauce was tasteless. With so much great options on Green Lanes who needs this

This place used to be very good. On our recent visit, the food was very average, and meat was under-seasoned. Wouldn't go back.

Fantastic!! The food is fabulous, full of flavour, so much variety, nothing is too much !! So kind & friendly, our waiter Ferdi is brilliant, looks after us like royalty, all the staff are so friendly, perfect restaurant for all occasions, highly recommend

We were 12 of us . We booked as the restaurant looked good and we decided to give them a try . The food was okay . You don’t order a steak ( expensive and not worthy) . We didn’t want to mention anything as the were two steaks and both were horrendous. Really hard to eat . It was a special day to my mum so we didn’t want to ruin the day complaining. The rest of the plates were fine . We asked them to remove the service charge as was a lot and we prefer to tip them separately. A big suggestion will be if they serve Presecco this need to be cold enough otherwise is not nice . We ordered many bottle and we asked the lovely Derya and Umut for a bucket of plenty ice and they were really lovey . We will be back a some point first for the service . Very nice staff . I do recommend this place for the service . Good is not too bad but not the best . Thank you Derya and Umut for being professional and efficient

Lovely waiter Ferdi served us very well and we had a great family celebration on the beautiful round tables. Found this restaurant to be more personable in terms of service and not as loud as the more ‘famous’ other Green Lanes’ options. Thank you for a great birthday celebration.

I’ve been to Selale many times and one thing that remains consistent and makes me proud to introduce/take someone to this restaurant is the service. Yes the food is amazing and so is the decor but the service is simply outstanding and I believe that is one of the most important things to me at a restaurant.

Five across the board, my neighbourhood favourite. Excellent service and attention.

It was the worst turkish food I have ever eaten. Cheap meat, which was very fatty. Had the mixed doner, and it was greasy, lacked flavour. Had better at 3 am after a good night out. For the price, the presentation is nonexistent. We paid £130 for 4 people, and I with 3 plates left full. This was not questioned.

Been here before, as usual the food was amazing. Staff are super helpful and gave good recommendations, but a special shout out to Zinar - he’s service was probably the best I’ve ever had in England - super kind, helpful and attentive, thank you so much.

What a place!! Looked after very well. We had a mixed grill platter. Enormous amount of food. May seem expensive at eighty pound but there was plenty of food for the four of us which made it well worth it. Plus there were sides of bread and salad in the price. Nice staff,attentive but not intrusive. Would highly recommend.

The lentil soup is lovely.. a friend dining had the lamb soup saw our soup and swapped!..Vegan platter was nom nom..the aubergine, mushrooms so, good. Its nice to go somewhere and have good flavourful vegan food... Staff friendly and attentive good atmosphere family friendly..yea noice! Sorry no pics remembered when i had finished!
