We went Sunday 9th February SOUL NIGHT, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING night. We had so much fun, singers & band was BRILLIANT. Their guest singer Yasmin just FABULOUS. TOTALLY recommend this place, you must experience it. Staff great, door staff & bar staff just so friendly and welcoming. Big thank you to all making Ronnie Scott's a night to remember. I will certainly be going back.

What an awesome experience!!! The atmosphere is amazing and I would strongly recommend you take a visit even if Jazz isn’t your number one genre. I went with my brother who is not a jazz fan at all, (I am hence the visit) and he loved it I was a little disappointed where were sat because it was in the second row on the upper floor that frames the lower area, but they do show you what the priority seat plan is before you book, so my bad for not reading it properly or making a more specific request. The service before and during the music was 10/10 They have so many different versions of jazz here that I would like to visit every week if I wasn’t so far away Great work Ronnie Scott team

Disappointed that the food menu didn't include the snacks as mentioned on your website particularly as we had emailed you in advance to enquire as to what would be available. Also I believe I had thw worst seat in the house as my seat had its back to the stage and because of the close proximity of the seat next to me, it was difficult to move my chair. This was my first visit and I was hugely disappointed. In my opinion there were far too many tables in the stage area.

They couldn't possibly fit any more tables in there... the place is too crowded! I never in my life eaten food so close to strangers, literally elbow to elbow. The food was average and overpriced for what ot was. My husband had chewy steak and I had a fish which was ok. Service is non existing yet already included in your bill. Music was not a jazz and it was painful to listen to.. There was like 10 people in the band and it was just pure chaos. If you value comfort, good food and service then dont go to this place. Save yourself money and go elsewhere cos this place is overrated. Definitely wont be back, I rather go to the Maine.

It’s very difficult to fault this venue. I love it. The food isn’t fine dining, but for a meal at a gig, it’s very good indeed. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is fabulous. Finally - don’t be put off experimenting. The don’t only have pure jazz bands, and the rest of the audience are not all jazz purists. You will feel welcome whether you know your onions or not

TLDR: Absolutely atrocious security staff, who clearly have a long history of being physically and verbally abusive (based on some of the other reviews here). Management takes no notice of complaints from customers – they are only concerned about protecting their own backs. Full Review: My partner was pushed aggressively down the stairs by a bouncer without any reason. When I said I will be ringing up the next day to make a complaint, the two bouncers on duty laughed in our faces and said “please do”. However, when I took my phone camera out to get a photo of the bouncer’s ID, he immediately turned it around so I couldn’t see the ID (see photo - shows the bouncer's badge turned around). His other bouncer colleague then started verbally abusing me by repeatedly telling me I am “totally idiot” and I must “have some mental problem” (see video). I wrote to make a complaint the following day – including the video attached here and other evidence – and the box office team recognised the seriousness of the issue straight away and were courteous enough to apologise. However, Managing Director Fred Nash wrote back a few hours later saying that he disputed our account (despite us having provided clear evidence) along with a bunch of other generic nonsense such as they "take matters like this seriously" and pride themselves "on being a safe space". Much more outrageously, however, the Managing Director also tried to allege in his email response to me that it was us who had harassed their staff instead, not the other way round! We were beyond shocked at this blatant attempt by management to protect their own backs instead of taking accountability for their staff. I had always been under the impression that Ronnie Scott’s was a fairly well-regarded institution, so I went on to read through some more reviews on this page to see if other customers had had similar experiences with the security staff. I was stunned to find several reviews detailing experiences almost identical to ours – including anecdotes where customers have rung up to complain repeatedly and no action has been taken. In particular I would like to draw attention to Roisin Aherne's complaint from 12 months ago (please filter by 1 star reviews and you can see it too) as – like me – she has included photos. Roisin mentions that she and her friends were “grabbed” and pushed “aggressively down the stairs […] with no explanation” by a security staff member who then swore at them. From Roisin’s photos, it is very clear that the person who pushed her and her friends was the same bouncer who pushed my partner. This man is therefore clearly a repeat offender, management have now received multiple complaints against him, with evidence – but they continue to refuse to take any action and victim blame instead. Toxic internal culture like this is a disgrace to the entertainment industry and put the whole hospitality industry in a bad light, when really there are plenty of respectable places who treat customers with the respect they deserve. If you have read this review, I would request that you take your custom elsewhere to more deserving businesses.

Needs no introduction. You know why you’re here. One of the best and most historic jazz clubs in the world. I have been probably a hundred times, and will go a hundred more - especially with the fantastic new renovation which stays very true to the old vibe (I was worried they would mess it up!) That being said, I give it 3 stars because it has in recent years deliberately appealed more and more to punters who just want somewhere to get more drunk after the nearby pubs shut at 11. Most of them have little to no appreciation for jazz music. For this reason, I would sadly recommend that avid jazz enthusiasts avoid the venue’s late-night Friday and Saturday evening showing. Broadly speaking, these are generously described as fusion nights that go for mass appeal, but you won’t be able to hear the music anyway over the audience’s competition for who can have the loudest conversation. The club still feels like its old self on most week nights - Wednesdays tend to be my favourite - and some may accuse me of being uptight about it, but the club’s surrender to commercialism was nonetheless enough for me not to renew my membership this year. The final straw was when a man, who I clocked was plainly on a fair bit of cocaine at least, got up to fight me after I politely asked that he not watch videos on his phone at full volume while the band was playing. This is the sort of thing I wish the club was as proactive about as it was before the pandemic. Despite all this, the place remains my spiritual home and I know they have to do what they have to do to keep the lights on. The late show is STILL great value for money and you’ll see some of the best players in the city for only a few quid if you’re lucky. The student discount is also very generous. So, it’s 3 stars because I hold this place to the highest possible standard. It is still my favourite place in the world and I unequivocally recommend that you see some great music here. But to get 5-stars like I would have given them circa 2019, I selfishly demand that they cater to die-hards like myself once more like they used to. Until then, I’ll be steering clear on weekends.

Odd. Been coming to Ronnie Scott's for over a couple of decades. Something is very different. Maybe it was because it was an early Saturday show - which I had previously never been to. First thing I noticed was the absence of those little '...please no talking / respect the performance'.. signs that used to be at the tables. This may or may not have contributed to full set enjoyment being riddled with the constant chat and cackling of the four people behind me and the two people two rows in front. A quick couple of scans round the venue and it was good to see the usual sight of people just grooving or enjoying the set. But this cluster of people not giving a f##k and behaving like it was just a club night out or something. Never experienced that before. Not sure about things now. Just very very unfortunate. A bit sad really. Shame.

It used to be a jazz club, now it is a restaurant with background music played by top musicians. It used to be an iconic jazz club where people came to listen and appreciate the music and the artists. Now it is a restaurant where people are eating and clinking cutlery. How upsetting it is when you pay 40 pounds to see an incredible artist, and this is the atmosphere you get. Ronnie Scott’s is not a jazz club anymore, but a restaurant

As an event producer and passionate music advocate, visiting Ronnie Scott's was a pleasure. The venue's iconic atmosphere remains unparalleled—there's a certain magic in the air that blends history, artistry, and intimacy. The setting is everything you’d hope for in a world-renowned jazz club. The dim lighting, decor, and venue layout create a vibe that feels effortlessly timeless. I have to commend the security and staff for their professionalism and friendliness. This is unusual... From the moment you arrive, you’re met with welcoming faces. While the music for the Late Late Show was enjoyable, it wasn’t as striking as I’d hoped for from such a prestigious venue. That said, Ronnie Scott’s has an incredible reputation, and I know the music offerings vary greatly depending on the night and performers. This particular evening just wasn’t one of the standouts for me. Ronnie Scott's is an institution that continues to shine as one of the best live music venues in the world. Even when the music doesn’t quite hit the high notes, the experience of being in such an iconic space more than makes up for it. It’s a must-visit for any music lover, and I’ll undoubtedly return to see what magic the next show has in store.

Although I love this place and it is a great club, overall, I would say 3* because the team members may bring somebody to your table halfway through the performance (like happened with us in October) without explaining anything. Only after my question the employee (brunet woman) said “We use these benches for up to three people”, without sorry or any explanation before my questions. The club’s employee just moved out coat and said to another visitor to take a seat. It became a bit tight and we had to leave during the break. Funny enough - when we had been allocated seats initially, before the performance began, one of the employees escorted us to the seats - I asked which area of the bench was ours (for me and my partner) and he said “it is all yours”, hence it was unclear why another visitor was added to the same bench without any explanations to us.

Superb atmosphere and one can get very close to the band which is fantastic. It is however now very expensive and one feels pressured to leave after the first show. The timing is tight so they can get two shows in in an evening. This meant our food arrived just as the band went on stage. Other venues allow time to eat before the show which is much better. Well worth trying out if you are a jazz fan but it comes at a price.

My first time here. Absolutely loved it. A real cellar jazz club, you could feel the history just sitting there looking around. The sound was amazing considering it is so small, even though it was loud you never felt as though your ears were being assaulted. Sunday lunch was fine, decent size portions. Drinks are really reasonably priced considering it's London. There are price lists for the drinks so you know what you're paying. The staff work so hard, they never stop. At very short notice, I decided to enjoy an evening in London. I just couldn’t rush home. The warm autumn day, the golden sunset crossing Millennium Bridge—the magnetism of London was irresistibly delightful. The blend of architecture, lighting, and sunset created an infinite show. Along the way, people responded warmly. I met some veterinary students who introduced me to a city map and helped me find a place with live music. Further down the South Bank, illuminated by streetlights, I met a well-dressed woman speaking like a writer, encouraged me to keep walking and head to Soho for live music at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz**** Club. The show was fully booked, however Thank you to the door man for listening to my qu’est- I came from far! Stepping inside felt like traveling back in time—dim lighting, cabaret style, with a mix of ages all sharing a love of jazz. The world-class artists, hailing from Italy, Germany, and England, raised the energy, engaging with the audience. One hour flew by in no time. I was thrilled to enjoy something I truly love. Afterward, I had great conversations with some of the artists, all fully immersed in their craft. It felt like everyone was pushing their limits, striving to surpass themselves, and making space to truly enjoy life. The DJ plugged in international environment played eclectic tracks. One made my heart melt reminding me my powerful youth -Alliance Ethnik ‘Respect yourself , respect the funk’. I felt yes ! It's good to be a queen, respect yourself and the rest will flow! Thank you, London, for the beautiful windows of opportunity—you always offer the chance to turn up the experience! ☺️

I have visited Ronnie Scott’s on several occasions and have always enjoyed the experience. However, my recent visit was disappointing. My partner and I were unable to secure tickets for an event, so we decided to queue outside the venue, as we were informed that tickets would be available at the door and it’d be easy to get them if we queued from 10:30 PM. We arrived on time and waited in the cold for over two hours. Unfortunately, a few people ahead of us were told the venue was full. Bad luck this time. While we understand that space is limited, what we found frustrating was the lack of communication. Despite the long queue, no staff member came outside to inform us that the venue had reached capacity. Instead, people had to approach the door themselves to find out. After waiting for hours in the cold, this felt inconsiderate and could have been easily avoided with a simple announcement. However, the most disappointing part of the evening came when one of their staff members began picking people at random to let them inside. This unprofessional behavior left those of us who had patiently waited feeling angry and confused. It was something I would expect from a lesser venue, not from a reputable place like Ronnie Scott’s. Sadly, this experience has left a bad impression on us, and I fear they have lost two loyal customers as a result. I hope they will address these issues to ensure that future guests are treated more fairly.

I visited Clipstone recently and left absolutely full to the brim with delicious food and wine. The atmosphere of the place is so comforting and cosy. We were served by Kat who attended to our every need, recommending dishes and wines - we were stoked with her recommendations! The house smoked salmon and Yorkshire partridge pie were our favourites! Thanks so much for a lovely evening, I can't wait to come back!
