We popped in for a drink and snack after visiting the theatre and were sorely disappointed. Whilst the venue was lovely the time spent waiting for a tiny portion of chips was ridiculous. £4 for about 12 small chips was very disappointing. When we asked if the tiny portion was normal we were just told ‘yes’. We won’t be going back again!

Went here for lunch with 2 friends before visit to Sadlers Wells. Greeted by friendly waiter. Fish cake starters were very good but needed a small green salad. For my main I had Guinea Fowl which was very well cooked. But now the bad bits. My wife had vegetable ragu which was very mushy. The green beans with it were cold. We ordered 2 portions of new potatoes which were luke warm, dry and some of them undercooked. How can you cook Guinea Fowl so well and get the spuds so wrong. This place has potential but they need to keep any eye on the detail. Also they do not do coffee. It is a real shame as the restaurant is in a really good location just a little way from Sadlers Wells.

I had been to the Pearl and Feather previously on a trip to Sadlers Wells the previous Christmas. However, on this occassion they were having a nightmare day. They denied I had a reservation when my friend arrived there, so I had to text it through to her again. Then the waiter was new and so didn't ask for whether we wanted a drink and so my friend went to the bar to get it after being there 30 minutes. The person behind the bar thrust it at her rather abruptly. While the menu is reasonably priced for London it has very little vegetarian choice, with gaspazcho the starter option, which is not to everyones taste and out of an option of 6 items isnt good enough. My friends had the salmon and the pate. For the mains I had the vegetable ragu served with long stem broccoli, while my freinds had the fish (I've forgotten what the fish was - sorry) and fish and chips. The latter item, chips, was the main issue as they were struggling to keep up with demand as the fish and chips were popular. The mains finally arrived 50 minutes after we first arrived. Probably won't be back.

A nice pub either just for a drink or for food. The place is nothing special, though it is well located to be near a couple of theatres. When we went in there appeared to be others also having pre-theatre meals. The drinks were reasoanbly priced for the location and the staff are both friendly and helpful. The place is also kept reasonably clean, so it is worth going into. Not an exceptional place, but the staff make the best of it and it is well located with decent service.

When we entered we had a sense of deja vu when we entered the building as we realised we had eaten in the restaurant before when it was a different establishment and I had not rated it favourably. However, to our relief it was a very good experience. We were welcomed warmly, immediately shown to our table even though we were early for our booking. My husband chose the fish and I chose a vegetarian dish, both of which were very good particularly bearing in mind the establishment is basically a pub they should be proud of what dishes they are serving. I would have one particular comment which was disappointing in that the food was well cooked and piping hot BUT was served on cold plates. The food and wines were all reasonably priced. We would return again in the anticipation that hot plates will be used next time.

The place can be loud with no soft furnishings to absorb noise. The fish and chips we had was very average, but the service was fab, even with a mixed plate of sweets at the end of the meal, and on the house. Nice beer too, and very near Sadlers Wells theatre.

Hadn't planned ahead for pre-ballet food and everywhere was busy, shared a table for six with another couple, was offered the pre-ballet menu, but they were happy to just serve us one course. Was very busy, fish and chips had just sold out, so went for the veggie ragu, which came with perfectly cooked long stemmed broccoli. Was given tap water on the table and they seemed happy that we did not buy drinks. Meal was worth the £11 price, service was added, but we were happy to pay. Service was speedy, they were aware we were on a set time frame. Would return. On another note, the couple sharing our table seemed unhappy, in fact I think their review is below mine, they got their soup quite quickly, if I wasn't happy with the temperature I would have sent back. They did chase their main, were told ten minutes, which was a shame, but it was a busy service. Didn't visit the loos.

We made our way to the Pearl and Feather before a Sadlers Wells performance. The top floor was full, so we ordered our drinks and went downstairs where we were the only ones there (that soon filled up to). Had four G&T's (there were four of us !), came to £22, not a bad price at all and they were really good. When it came time to leave, we were the last ones out as everyone else musty have been having a pre-ballet drink. Would return for sure.

We were going to Sadlers Wells to see Matthew Bourne's 'Swan Lake'. Although it was the 2nd of January, we felt it advisable to book. We walked the easy short walk down from Angel station. A warm welcome awaited us and a window table overlooking the garden courtyard. The pre-theatre menu is excellent value, especially as the quality of the food was so good. There is a good wine list, by the glass, carafe or bottle. We had a cheeky rich merlot. The pre-theatre menu has a good selection, including for vegetarians. We had the buttersquash soup and the pate for starters and then the fish and chips, which was one of the best I have had in London for a long time. The fish was delicious and moist and the minted mushy peas were again moist and tasty, compared to the congealed mushy peas I have experienced elsewhere. Service was attentive, we had no room left for dessert, and we left with plenty of time fot the theatre - excellent!

We have eaten here in its present and past incarnations and found it pleasant. Today however we had a very indifferent meal. My wife's squash soup was the best of the dishes. Her confit duck was floppy and lacking flavour. My cod fishcake was acceptable, but my fillet of sole was flimsy, slightly sticky and utterly without taste. We ordered chips which were good. Service was friendly. The place is superbly located for Sadler's Wells..But the food lets it down.
