William Morris in Islington

Only popped in for a quick pint, and had no complaints. Have never been to this area before, but can imagine it being packed out on a weekend when we have some decent weather.

Very tasty food but the mains was like a starter the plates are tiny . And with the greatest respect the staff are like a bunch of slofs

A nice waterfront pub in a small and secluded space in south London. I loved how it looked just like a nice gastro pub inside whilst having huge bay windows looking over the river. There is also an old mill. We went for Sunday dinner which was very nice. The vegetables were done perfectly and the meat was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding wasn't the best. It didn't taste or have a very nice texture. The sauce was lovely though. Whilst the prices were on the higher side, we loved the staff, atmosphere and quiet location. Outdoor tables seem available for the sunnier days too.

A fantastic pub, great for Sunday lunches with lovely staff. Ignore the one star review from Anne Everard! I sat behind her group with some friends on the monthly sea shanties night that's clearly advertised and is very obviously a regular local event. Her group were rude, drunken and loud during the whole performance. They had every opportunity to move to another area of the pub but when politely asked to be a bit quieter during the more solemn songs they lashed out. She complains in her review that there should be some signage but it's literally throughout the pub saying shanties on the first Thursday of the month. In short, great pub and Anne's group were some of the more obnoxious people I've bumped into and their review is garbage.

absolutely disgraceful booked a baby shower with these people the weekend i requested was free, they took my number and told me that i would get a call from the events manager to explain more about the evening never got no call , sent out invites to everyone and then they say they have cancelled it (after i called them to double confirm as they havent bothered) , very unreliable and disgusting service at now 6 months pregnant i have to worry about arrangements for elsewhere, never contacted me to tell me they was cancelling it either apparently sent me an email to which i cant access at the moment, baring in mind they took my phone number so had many chances to call!! really wouldnt recommend hiring this place at all complete idiots.

I love this place - warm - clean - friendly staff, even on a bad day I was having - i was given a extra hot chocolate! In the summer there is a huge outdoor area which is lovely , and a bar that wraps almost around the whole pub. Its also kid friendly and does hot drinks as well as alcohol.

Mostly ok but a minority of bar staff are quite rude making an otherwise great bar quite awkward. I was told by one bar maid that she didnt like me and that was why she wouldnt give me the 20% regular customer discount the other staff had given me previously. Absolutely uncalled for and shockingly misandrist.

Food came cold so sent it back and got a whole new plate rather than just warmed up. Alex was a great waitress. Will definitely come back

I booked a table for my bday . Just a lunch with my son and 2 friends. Staff were really friendly, food was very good. Sunday roast I got was a beef one, but I got disappointed to have to pay £16.95 for some vegetables and only 2, yes, 2 very thin slice of roast beef. I was expecting more than it. The meal comes with caulyflower cheese and broccoli, but I asked it to be out. At the end got disappointed with my meal. Other sharer platers from the start menu were delicious, and friends meal were good also. Update 2024 February.... Visited today with a friend just for a drink. They do have discount for Blue light cards. The Nachos home made is a good option. Service was good and I enjoyed my time there.

Very tasty Sunday roast! Poor quantity but very good overall. The services was very poor as most all the workers are "kids" very unprofessional. Nonetheless, great atmosphere! Beautiful views to the small river and very nice floor.

I’m really upset that you have gone cashless. I means I will no longer be able to enjoy my local pub. Which I visit all the time in the warmer months. I came with fry to celebrate a birthday and we left due to this. Don’t know why the kings coin is not good enough. Well we ended up else where and betw 9 of spent nearly 800 per group. That could of been yours. So would the money we planned to spend at a quiz night. Extremely disappointing

Always enjoy coming to the William Morris. Good ambience, good menu choices and good food. We had a couple of issues this time round but the manager was very professional and kind in helping to resolve them. Will certainly be back whenever in the vicinity.

Beautiful riverside pub with good food, a fine selection of booze and staff who go the extra mile. I have been a fan for a long time and booked a few tables for my birthday for one of their Sing-A-Long Sea Shanty Night (first Thursday of every month (highly recommended) but annoyingly due to a computer mess-up my tables were not booked. Now, while many pubs would simply have shrugged their shoulders, manager Kit and his team went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated and even threw in some free drinks for good measure. A true South London treasure.

We had a very good experience celebrating our Civil Partnership at the William Morris Pub, we and our guests felt comfortable and in a good atmosphere, the buffet food was good and the portions were enough for everyone. They also have a great selection of tap beers and other drinks, the cappuccino coffee is excellent. We thank Nat, Sebastian and all the staff for the effort in preparing our celebration, the information and advice we received to prepare our party. It is a diverse local pub with a young and proactive staff. We would definitely recommend The William Morris pub to anyone who wants to celebrate a private event or just go, have a drink and a bite to eat. The surroundings are beautiful and in spring and summer even more so. Thank you very much to everyone. Great job!

Have been coming to this pub for years and its changed hands so many times over as well. Had a bad experience this evening from one of the customers, Was meeting friends in this pub l had not seen for ages. There where afew tables reserved for a group . When they arrived they connected their equipment and left song books around the pub. We did not have a problem with the loud noise. A lady from the group had the cheek to approach me when the band was on their break to ask me to keep quiet as they could hear me and my friends talking when they where on their break. I find that very very rude as this is a public place and we did not complain about the noise they where making. The pub should of put up some signage stating there would be loud noise. We went to complain but there was no management to help but the staff there where nice.

Lovely place, great roast, excellent service and good price!

Food has went really downhill the past few months, especially the chicken and beef burgers and not worth the money they are charging. I think they have either changed chef or are trying to save money by providing tasteless burgers with hardly anything on them. They used to give a bit of coleslaw but even that disappeared from the plate. So disappointing and be back for alcohol but 3rd strike with the food and I'm done, never again.

Dog friendly, easy atmosphere by the river. Friendly staff. We had a large group of parents and babies and they were very accommodating, allowing us to set up a little area to play. We also had allergies, so they marked which items on the menu had those allergies, and the chef also came out to offer to make adjustments where possible depending on what we wanted to order. We've always loved coming here and it continues to be a great experience.

Roast beef tough.. cold served on a small plate . Potatoes to be improved on. Food cold .. service slow . Atmosphere non existent .. Will definitely not return

Came here with my family and everything was exceptional, one of my fave pubs now and I will definitely be coming back. The portions are incredibly good for the price and taste amazing! The staff were also so lovely :)

I haven't been to this pub for at least 8 years. I can see that it has improved so much. The staff were very friendly, accommodating and service was very good. The food was also tasty and good value for money. They allow dogs so it's generally a very relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Love this place. By the river wandle so has a nice view and in a quaint area but also has a lovely cosy interior. Roast dinner was so lovely, best I’ve had in a while - I had the kids portion and it was more than enough. The workers are so kind as well! Highly recommend

Used to go here often, hasn't changed much, glad I revisited, enjoyed the food, great selection of beer, be going back.

We were out on a walk along the Wandle and came across this pub. We decided to stop to watch the rugby. The staff were really friendly and Bradley was great at helping us to find a table that allowed us to view the rugby action. The beer selection was good. We also ordered some food and the squid was yummy. We will definitely visit again.

Really impressed with the service from the barman who covered upstairs for a private hire! The pub is lovely & very picturesque outside.

Lovely pub by the river. It's been a while since I've been here and discovered that they have a new menu. I had the mushroom ravioli which was really tasty. I also had their skin on fries, really nice My colleague had wings and halloumi fries also great

A lovely meal in a quaint part of Colliers Wood. Super friendly staff and amazing food. My aunt said it her fish and chips was the best piece of fish she’s ever had and well worth the trip from Norfolk! We’ll definitely be returning and recommend!

We booked the William Morris for our wedding party for 75 people and had the most incredible experience. Through the planning process Nat made us feel totally at ease and was very flexible to all our requests. On the day the room looked beautiful and the staff behind the bar and clearing drinks/running food were all so friendly. The service was excellent and the food we ordered was really tasty. The next day the team had very kindly already started clearing away our decorations which made collection super easy. I could not more highly recommend to the William Morris for anyone looking for a fun, laid back wedding party. Thank you so much to all the team for making it so special.

food is fine but really over priced for what it is. bao buns are massively over priced and truffle and parmasan fries are not as good as other pubs, dirty fries are really bad like someone dumped a shepherd's pie on top of my chips and again massively over priced. Food is ok but for the price not worth it the swuid was overcooked and portion was very small

OK pub by the side of the River Wandle about ten minutes walk from Colliers Wood tube station. Only one cask beer on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating most of it covered. The pub is a conversion of the block-house of the former Liberty print works a quarter of a mile upstream on the Wandle from the former William Morris works.

Best Sunday lunch I’ve eaten in a long time. Had belly of pork roast, others had chicken and everyone was blown away by the good food. Amazing staff, definitely visit here.

A delightful venue with extensive indoor, covered and uncovered outside space. Some gorgeous table with some lining the river and others are on the rooftop terrace. Always a good vibe, perfect for families, couples and groups alike. Great food and drink selection with a top notch Sunday roast. Child, stroller, bike and dog friendly. It's lovely to see such a cross section of society enjoying their time at this pub. Ability to order at the bar or via app. Almost a country pub in the city!

Totally ignored three times by a barman who was wiping cutlery a few feet away. Second barman walked behind the counter, also ignored us to mess around with the till. First barman then served a woman who'd just walked up to the bar.

Nice pub but the food here isn’t so great and service is ok. I had the dirty fries, squid and fish and chips and they were too salty and just not very tasty so I’m confused why people rave about the food here… The location of it is great though if you want to come here for a drink with friends and family

Lovely pub in a very picturesque location, next to the river. Reasonably priced and the food was of a high standard. I had beer battered fish and chips, which was large, tasty and came with some nice accompaniments. My partner had a Wagyu beef burger with fries and plenty of salad; again a large portion of food and very tasty. Service was prompt and friendly, and lunchtime the place was pretty quiet, which is a surprise. Some might find the number of dishes on the menu small, but I think most would find something to eat. Music inside was played at a good volume and we personally enjoyed the choice of 90s tracks playing. This gave the pub an air of privacy as conversations couldn't be overheard. The pub is 5 minutes from the Deen City Farm and 10 minutes from the amazing Morden Hall Park, so an ideal place to grab a bite and a drink before or after a long walk.

Give it a visit you won't be disappointed food is good and the staff are very friendly would defo be going again and recommend to my friends

the staff did not seem to care about customer service whatsoever, i am very disappointed as i came in with high expectations.

Came for my mums birthday, the table was not ready for us, and was dirty with no attempt for it to be cleaned from pre outside people, we had to find menus that were dotted around the pub as we weren't given any. When the food came, half of my fish was inedible so had to leave it, my son had a hair in his mini roast dinner, the parsnips were also inedible on the roast dinners. All in all ot was a disappointing birthday dinner for my mum and unfortunately we won't be returning.

Excellent choices of drinks from single malt to draught beers. Food is reasonably priced, good portions and freshly made. It can get quite busy but you can reserve a table if you want to guarantee a table. Quiz nights are a good fun too.

We had our wedding reception at the WMP on Sat 20th May 2023. Kit and the team worked their backsides off to deliver a seamless, laid back reception with an amazing atmosphere. We had a few ideas as to what we wanted to do as we were unsure what the weather would be like. The team bent over backwards to help us and gave us the perfection event. We had lovely sharing platters of hot food, a Prosecco reception and then an evening of drinks and dancing. We received so many compliments from our guests. The pub is a real gem. There is such a lovely vibe. The team are the ones that really made it though. I heard nothing but excellent feedback. They anticipated our needs, delivered every part with professionalism and made the whole event flow beautifully. Our guests loved the way we did our wedding. There was no waiting around or unnecessary formality, yet it still felt like a wedding. We didn't have to do much to make the venue look great as it already does. We had bits and pieces to make it our own and the team were there to help and support. I can't fault them. Excellent value for money and the pub has a soul, unlike a boring golf course with a standard 3 course meal and half a bottle of wine. For the same budget we were able to provide delicious food that the guest actually liked and a flowing pre paid bar. Result. We hope that the pub holds many more events like this. They deserve every success and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone and everyone. We will definitely do another party there as soon as we can think of an occasion! 1st time visiting this pub and I really loved the location as it's so calming. Sat inside next to the riverside and ordered the Wagyu beef burger which was soooo tasty! Even though the bun went a bit soggy from all the juices making it quite hard to eat, it was still good. Staff were friendly and helpful too.

This is a great place to relax outside in the summer with a view of the river whilst listening to the sounds of the leaves, water flow and the background sounds of conversations with your company. The service is very friendly and good as well as the venue.

All day pub with a day time coffee shop next door. Lovely riverside (Wandle) and roof terraces with shady trees, partly covered, for good weather. In a heritage area (Abbey Mills) Tea comes in a tea pot. Bit noisy inside when busy as hard surfaces. Half price happy hour 6 to 7, mon-thu is amazing value. 2hrs free parking in the "KFC" car park, or 3 hrs in Sainsburys. Sea shanty singing on Thur evenings. Updated Jun'23

Had a Sunday roast, very lovely building, very clean all through, the staff were amazing, cheerful, helpful they couldn't do enough, it was five stars before eating, they have my favourite IPA on draught, Camden pale ale, the wine was great too, the Sunday roast didn't disappoint, great value for money, definitely deserve 5 stars from us, I will be returning.

The starters arrived the same time as the mains, when I questioned it I was told they do not have heaters to keep the mains warm. Not what I wanted to hear, member of staff disinterested, their error mains should have been cooked fresh once starters were finished. Food was nice, not exceptional. No loo roll in cubicle I went in. Overall nice food, very poor service and facilities, would spect better.

Great roast dinners, can’t recommend them enough. The pub is able to accommodate for gluten free/gluten allergies on all meat roasts. They even had GF Yorkshire puddings which was unusual as pubs normally take them off altogether. A rare and lovely treat. The only thing to note is there seem to be no gluten free options on the main menu when we’ve visited mid-week, so a bit limited if not visiting on a Sunday. A lovely pub in a great spot!

The food is great and the Sunday lunch portions were very good. Very tight seating arrangements however for a pre-booked table of 10. There's a lack of staff as is the case with much of hospitality these days, which meant ordering at the bar, however the staff that were there were really friendly, polite and efficient.

Super find….. staying at nearby Premier Inn & searched on Google Maps, found William Morris & phenomenal….. Super staff; awesome atmosphere; FAB food…… 5 stars definitely 👍👍👏👏👏👏

Overall it's an ok venue to dine in. However it is very expensive and my whole family found it very cold and uncomfortable. The food wasn't the best either to be honest as a couple of us were unwell a couple of hours after leaving there. Also the gravy was very salty. My father in law was given a child's dinner and they did not replace it. Waiting for cutlery and drinks was another long wait unfortunately. I dont think the staff should be working with food if they have the flu. Won't be going there again and will not be recommending
