After a tour at the Cannon Hall museum needed a coffee and snack when I came across this place next to the walled garden. It is an outside facility which not ideal on a wet day but fortunately there are shelters! Had warm vegan roll, ginger and pumpkin cake and coffee for just £8. I'm not a vegan and generally avoid vegan food but this was spicy and delicious. The ginger cake was yummy and good coffee too. Staff were friendly and the whole experience was a pleasure. Highly recommended, great for dog walkers.

Lovely setting. Terrible service.. so slow with a huge queue. Not enough staff working on a Sunday. Hot drinks gone cold by the time our food came. Need more staff.

Love Pear tree cafe, all coffees are spot on, cakes are delicious, homemade soup is delightful, setting picturesque, friendly relaxed atmosphere & staff are so friendly & accommodating going over & above to provide a personal service. The special events are really enjoyable especially the Christmas one which made us all feel so festive, hopefully to be repeated this year Also the flower shop next door work with Pear Tree which makes it even more special with the lovely array of plants & flowers available

Didn't actually know this place existed until we came across it in passing. Very small service area but very well staffed so got our items quickly. Went for 2 different teas, a coffee and simply had to go for a couple of the homemade cakes as they looked delicious (carrot and pistachio). Plenty of seating and a lovely time in the October sun right next to the walled garden. What really made our visit was the extremely friendly nature of the staff - they also went out of their way to give us extra milk in a glass container as I wasn't sure if one of the party wanted it or not. Prices were very reasonable, surroundings lovely, drinks and cakes very good quality.

The staff, the choice, the quality and the location. All superb! I walk Cawthorne Park 2 or 3 times a week and the Pear Tree Pantry is my go to Pitstop. Dog friendly too!!

Coffee great but after 35 minute wait for ham and cheese baguette it was cold. Two bites of sandwich it went in bin. Soft tough crusty bread which was obviously not fresh, and grated cheese which fell all over. Very disappointed 😢 not usual standard. Second time we called this week the first time it was not good either and just thought it was a blip does second disappointment mean a trend? Did not complain perhaps I should have, it was not really busy either no apology for delay.

Just found this little gem hidden in the walled garden and behind Cannon Hall museum. I've never tasted as good a piece of cake as the gingerbread and toffee apple cake. Words fail to describe the bite of the ginger with the toffee apple. The coffee was excellent. It's only been open since 1st of April. The seating is in the old storage area but the throws provided for the seats take the chill off on a very chilly day. I'll be coming back!!!

A fairly new addition to the catering scene at Cannon Hall. Excellent tea and cake and a beautiful courtyard to sit and rest

Nestled in the walled gardens of Cannon Hall, with access to the downstairs section of the hall. A small kiosk with plenty of yummy cakes, pastries and a choice of hot and cold drinks and icecream. Lots of outdoor seating in shade or sun. Very peaceful.

This was a gorgeous little café in beautiful surroundings: great range of cakes (highly recommend the blondie cheesecake) and tea made exactly the way you like it.

Beautiful little cafe in the Walled Garden at Cannon Hall. All coffee is freshly ground and decaf is available along with other hot and cold drinks too. Brilliant range of sweet and savoury gluten free and vegan options, including some amazing cakes and pastries, and hot and cold sandwiches. A great place to stop in on a dog walk (lots of water bowls and free dog biscuits!) or visit to the hall, lovely clean toilets are close by too.

Left before ordering, we didn't dare sit down in case we landed on another customer's knee! This small venue has too many tables pushed into the space available, plus steps inside the door to navigate. Too many levels. Profits are essential but not at the cost of practicality, ease of movement and comfort.

We went for breakfast on Easter Friday and thankfully had booked a table because it was heaving. We've been before and hadn't needed to book as it's never been as busy. The parking can be a bit of a problem as there aren't many options other than the Hare and Hounds car park or the main road but there is a time limit which could leave you with a ticket. It was full that morning and the car park only had one space left. As we were leaving a woman had been driving up and down waiting for a space to become free. I'm not sure if there's anywhere close by to give another option. Amyway, we had 4 cooked breakfasts, 2 small and 2 normal. They come with tea/coffee and a slice of toast. It would be nice to be able to swap out items or pick extra items and I like to be able to butter my own toast but that's because I, weirdly, don't like the butter to soak in. It would be lovely to have the option of fried bread, they offer spam as an option but weirdly not fried bread. We didn't ask for anything to be added or removed because I am sure they would have done it but I very much go by the menu and it's probably much easier to churn out set meals that messing around with removing or adding items. They have lots of options and some interesting specials for breakfast, including halloumi and chilli poached eggs with avocado. All in all, it was quite tasty and the place is very clean and the service good. We will definitely be back as it's become a bit or a regular breakfast meet up for us.

We visited for a family meal. Unfortunately no one contacted or it wasn’t on the booking email regarding a pre - order so this put our meal preparation time longer. The food was lovely however and staff very friendly and accommodating. It was a little strange sat amongst drinkers whilst eating a booked restaurant meal, however they soon left and caused no grief.
