We went around 10am and asked for tea, coffee and two cooked breakfasts to eat in. We were given the drinks to take to our table but my tea came in a cardboard cup. I pointed out that I was eating in and could I please have a real cup but was told that he didn't have any. When I pointed out the row of cups on the shelf behind him he then told me that people stole the real cups, and they cost a fortune to replace (he took out a box of new cups and showed them to me to prove his point) so no I would have to have a cardboard one. When I then noted that everyone drinking coffee had a real cup, he dug his heels in and insisted that I couldn't have a cup. I probably should have left then but we had paid, so I went to our table spilling hot tea on to my hand as the flimsy cardboard cup buckled. I was then given the wrong breakfast, along with one other woman on another table. When I eventually got my correct order (my tea - what remained of it was cold by now), the food was actually very good and the portions were generous. Just give your paying customer an actual cup to drink from please!! Don't argue, lie or start lecturing on how much cups cost!!!!

This has always been a lovely spot in the middle of the woods, a welcome break in Winter or Spring/Summer, offering nice brunches, light meals and cakes. Unfortunately, the pleasant caring service doesn't seem to extend to the appearance or cleanliness of the place, and the area for dogs + owners looks like the inside of an old kennel. Very off-putting, and you can't help wondering therefore what else they aren't 'seeing' in back of house. Come on Pavilion Cafe, you're surrounded by picturesque nature - embrace it, don't scare it away !

Staff were really poor and quite aggressive. After waiting ten minutes to order food in the queue, the staff slammed a kitchen closed sign on the counter at 1220. I understand it was a busy bank holiday and staff were very busy, but there was no explanation or info re how long before it opened again. I tried to politely ask if we could wait to order but was just shouted at to bare with them. The waiter then proceeded to slam down trays everywhere. Not a nice experience! Shame as the food has been good in the past but I won’t be returning.

Had to walk away empty handed. Supervisor unwilling to let me swap the ham in the toasted sandwich for something else and had to pay the same price for cheese and tomato as I would if the ham were included. Will stick to the more flexible café in waterlow park in future.

A welcome break from walking in the delightful Highgate Woods, this little cafe has a predictable selection of refreshments. Staff are friendly, but it’s all a bit haphazard and scruffy. Still perfectly nice though.

The Pavilion cafe is coping well with Covid restrictions. Lunch yesterday - avocado and tomato on sourdough was excellent. Coffee also very good. Highly recommend.

Lunch- good eggs, avo and bacon plate at a reasonable cost. Relxed, pleasant outdoor space, Not so happy about this: I didn't know (and wasn't told) that 'We'll bring your food to your table' meant 'we won't bring your coffee'. 20 mins later faced with 'well if you didn't collect it we'd have thrown it away'.. and having to say firmly, 'so can you make another then', and also, 'I've already paid for it' I decided I just wasn't good enough for these folk (The barista's blithe dismissal of me not knowing the unwritten ropes, no apology, then 'hurt' when I said I'd already paid..my bad! )

Had lunch there in February. This is an outdoor café with only a little bit of inside seating. The food (English breakfast) was OK and I found the staff polite enough. It was a nice oasis in the woods. Prices seemed fair, though I thought the coffee cup was on t small side! If you don't have high expectations you won't be disappointed! This is dog friendly and the local forest school were taking advantage of the shelter when I was there.

Ordered avo and tomato on toast and that is exactly what I got. Slabs of avo on toast with a couple of slices of tomato. No finesse or flavour. Not a hint of guacamole. You get what you order and you pay through your nose for it.

Half of the sandwich/panini menu is off, very long queue but food served reasonably in time, fairly warm small sandwiches with little side salad, for extras we ordered delicious chips, very pricey for £3.50! The cappuccino is delicious even went for seconds☺️ Average meals prices are £10 😐 The first staffs who served was lovely lady but second lady could’ve smile more and offered me two loyal stamp like the first staff did! Lol 😏 lovely large outdoor sittings area, quite small for indoor, it was full when we arrived, was hoping for indoor while eating but we end up ate outdoor.

I have been visiting the cafe for a number of years and there is a great community spirit about the place on Saturdays and Sundays it is a hub for tired parents desperate for a coffee and bacon buttie while their kids have football and tennis lessons. It is so much more than this though. The food is much improved and James does winter warmers during the week and great 2 course deals. A supper club has started which has been a great success and more planned. I have been to some great events here too. The Christmas craft market was fantastic, showcasing local talent. Also there are quiz nights and music events. The Grateful Dad's event in December was top notch! We are really lucky to have this place and I for one will continue to support it. Yes like any place it is busy at times and cannot cater for lost property requests as they would like but I would not be without it. Bravo Robbie I hope you go from strength to strength in 2018.

Having been going on and off for years with the children and friends, but less frequently recently as standards have been slipping. It managed to reach a new low today, the waitress taking the orders was offhand to everyone to the point of rudeness, and the food was terrible. Over cooked poached egg on soggy toast and rock hard avocado. It seems as though they just don't care and just want to count the cash. Such a pity as it used to be a local treasure.

i recently visited for coffee. Sadly left my childs coat behind. I rang one hour later to be told instantly it was not there. I knew they had not looked as the answer was too instant. i registered my views on their Facebook page i explained my reasons for a low rating only to have a reply that stated. ' so its not our coffee your rating as low its the fact we were too busy to drop everything to look for your coat.' my reply was that i felt the staff were busy they should ask for my number and get back to me'. this reply was blocked intact i have not been able to write any reply. they then posted a picture of my childs coat asking me to call to pick it up. I live in Spain so asked my friend to call she arranged a date. when she called in she was told. "we have lost it we put it on a chair and now its gone.' my friend asked, 'do you always put lost property on a chair.' They said 'yes!' my friend obviously was appalled and voiced this and stated 'you knew I was coming in?' i received an email from her telling me she found their attitude to be appalling and RUDE. they could not have cared less and did not think in any way they behaved irresponsibility. they have made no offer to contribute to the cost of a £45 coat.

Didnt pop up in search but so glad I stopped. Lovely welcome and good choice of sandwiches, jacket potatoes or sweet treats. I enjoyed a good cappuccino and panini. The address on TripAdvisor needs updating as not London but nearest city is High Wycombe!
