Good selection of cakes and food and everything tasted nice but nothing special. Unfortunately nothing is labelled for price or description so you’re left having to ask the staff what everything is or just guess. Prices seemed quite steep although it is Highgate so maybe theirs is same as others 🤷‍♂️. Staff ok but not overly friendly or welcoming.

Very poor service!!! They didn’t want to give me a tea spoon to stair up my coffee!!! Then they blamed us for using the auger from the table!!! Toilet isn’t clean at all especially for a place where food is the main thing!!! This business will go down if they don’t learn how to win every single customer!!! Especially in this area the rich people aren’t stupid!!! If you’re not excellent in what you’re doing you’ll fell behind as this business already has its competitors which are well established!!!

This place looks so lovely from outside we had been aiming to go in for a while. Its very crowded inside. My friend had to move everytime someone wanted to go to the fridge. We realised that many of the cakes are actually idential in look and taste to a huge range sold at Costco! A coincidence???? The small slice of quiche (albeit home made) with a small side salad was £12 and a cup of tea was something like £4.50 so the bill for four of us took our breath away. The other thing to mention is how actually dirty the place is. Its fine if you keep your eyes at eye level but if you look down the actual dust around the skirting boards is so dense its forming black fluff! Not sure environmental health would give it a great rating. Wont be going back

The reason I come here is to support independent proprietors. Pros : gorgeous array of cakes and pastries. Nice selection of cooked savouries. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Cons: Where they can improve is the savoury food is quite bland. For example the couscous can be vastly improved if they cooked that in chicken stock and added some herbs. The lasagne and quiche were quite bland also and the type of veges they are using in the lasagne are just basic frozen vege mix. They could add some more interesting veg like eggplant and zucchini for example. The staff are consistently very friendly and polite, so any other comments,on here saying to the contrary are just making that up or trying to sabotage, in my opinion

Shocked to have been charged £17 for 2 cream éclairs and 2 cream horns! And, they weren't even good! Better quality in supermarkets! And the lady serving me didn't even bother to mention the price, just took my card for payment! Think they are over trading on the area's popularity.

I have been to the Pantry 3 times. We had a soup for lunch which was quite bland. I bought some sweets/cakes that were really nice. And a coffee that was practically undrinkable. As much as I would want to support an indie business - Gails opposite is just better. The only reason I would visit pantry is if the queue at Gails is too long. If they want to compete they need to at least improve the coffee because the standard everywhere is so much higher. Lovely service though and very nice baked goods.

Unconvinced by anyone putting anything more than 3 stars for this place. Not unless things change considerably day to day, which is possible. Think the worst part really is the deceptiveness of the lack of pricing, and how that equates to the experience and food quality. The drinks were OK, as was the pecan pie we had, but the cottage pie was just so bland it didn't justify the seeming expense when it came to the bill; nearly £28 for drinks, a main and a sweet. The staff were pleasant but by no means personable. The atmosphere inside is just so different and lackluster from what you expect looking at the front. If you just want a pastry/sweet and coffee, yeah it's OK but anything beyond that, could not recommend.

Local (not chain) business - the main reason to visit. The coffe is okey, the cakes too. Unfortunately, everything is just average. A huge downside is that cakes and pastries are not labeled, there are no lists of ingredients and no price list. The staff are polite but uninterested. Non-dairy milk options available. Savory meals also sold. The saucer of my coffe cup was a bit dirty - that was very unpleasant.

Huge disappointment and regret about money wasted. It looks nice from outside but once inside... First of all, there was no price list for pantry stuff (only for drinks). There were no item labels either, so we had to ask about each and every one what that thing was and what's inside. After all, we ordered 2 cups of coffee and 3 pantry items. Scone was awful: dry, not fresh at all, it tasted old actually. They didn't warm it up either, so it was - besides dry - also cold and hard. Instead of clotted cream there was butter I believe, very soft, almost melted, actually it tasted pure fat. Dry, cold, old scone with a layer of fat on it.... I felt nauseous 20 min later... Place to sit downstairs was stinky and uncomfortable, definitely far from cozy. It is actually a kind of small hall in front of toilet. At the end we were shocked by the bill: 20 pounds.

We just came back very disappointing from this little cafe. We ordered 2 cappuccinos and one cheese panini. The coffee were so bitter and strong that we could not drink them. The panini had cheddar cheese only, although on the display they had different cheese with ham and tomato and basil. I was not offered the veg at all, but ended up paying £6.95 for the most average panini that you can get in some places for couple of quid. When I said that they told me that the price is £4.50 for a sandwich with everything in it, they said that the panini is more expensive. They did not apologies or seemed troubled to serve a cheep panini bread with cheap cheddar without offering tomato etc that was actually included in the price. Miserable place, skip it.

The Greek Salad had no olives, no herbs and was littered with lettuce and a tiny touch of Feta, so not Greek! The tomatoes were tasteless and, only the cucumber was edible. The cream tea was disappointing with hard, bland scones and off - flavour, cream? The tea was so bad I could not finish drinking it. One friend ate the lasagne and came home with a stomach ache! So sad, and depressing to see. The staff speak Polish all the Time and, leave customers without conversation! The radio is on quite loud, too. When an elderly man and younger carer came in as regulars, the female manager expressed some offensive political views and criticised the U.K. - so, why is she even here? Just yo earn a living? Go away! I won’t be back!
