The Patricia in Newcastle upon Tyne

Just heard that Vinny’s which was the fantastic Italian pop up at Patricia is no more! Gutted as it was one of the best Italian restaurants out there! Visited multiple times and always had great meals! I hope whatever they’ve got planned is just as good!

Absolutely perfect evening. What an amazing restaurant. The food was unbelievable and so reasonably priced with good portions and excellent taste. The staff were so lovely, chatty and knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcomed. We shared most of the starters which I would definitely recommend doing so you get to enjoy the variety of the menu. The pasta dishes were also all phenomenal, but the tiramisu was the absolute highlight of the meal. It was one of the best puddings I’ve ever had. Thank you!

I ate at the Patricia a few times when I used to live in the toon a few years ago and loved it. When I saw what they were doing with the Vinny’s residency I knew we had to try it. We finally got the chance on Saturday night and it didn’t disappoint! Good tunes and wine, every dish was great but the Tiramisu was the highlight and a good recommendation from Eva who was lovely and knew her wines really well. Definitely coming back.

Outstanding food and exceptional service, again!

Came for the vinny’s menu. Unbelievable start to finish. Really reasonable for how amazing the food quality was. Hospitality was so great extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The restaurant is very small, but has a nice and friendly atmosphere. The food was phenomenal. I had the opportunity to taste new flavors. High quality products. All products made by yourself. Freshly baked bread, homemade pesto and pasta. I recommend it 😀

This was our first visit to Vinny's at The Patricia and we will definitely be back! We decided to go for the full experience of starters, pasta and meat courses. Everything was delicious. The pesto on the burrata was unbelievable and the veal saltimbocca was 2nd to none. I MAY have ordered too much cheese with the burrata and the gnocchi with gorgonzola but NO REGRETS! The homemade limoncello topped it off beautifully. Wonderful food, wonderful service. Ava (or is it Eva?) and Angus have created a really relaxed, friendly and delicious experience. Highly recommend!

Mamma Mia! What a restaurant, actually this is the Patricia / Vinny’s, the restaurant you have to visit while around in Jesmond or Newcastle. Whether you live close by or just visiting, you cannot miss it. Just make sure you book a table beforehand as your chances getting one without booking are very slim. And then be prepared for a warm welcome by a very friendly and professional staff member Eva, great atmosphere with phenomenal music, traditional Italian style interior with squeaky floor will send you back to the last time you visited the finest restaurants in Rome. This is only the beginning… Once your food is served a taste of wonderful dishes will take you straight to the heaven and you will stay there until the very last bite. The experience cannot be written by words, you need to be there to feel the difference between an Italian restaurant and the Patricia / Vinny’s!

Incredible meal with really warm and friendly service. It was nice to go somewhere with atmosphere and Vinny's is an absolute gem. Genuinely excellent pasta and arancini which is a rarity in Newcastle. We'll be back ❤️

Vinny’s at the Patricia. Wow! Having been to the Patricia a few times before we were looking forward to trying Vinny’s at The Patricia on a Monday night Staff were brilliant, food was really really good. The focaccia delicious, and the pasta dishes as good as any pasta I’ve had anywhere, including high end London places! Really really good! We even got a small taster of the panna cotta dish which was a lovely touch by the team there. Best pasta in the north east by some distance ! Definitely be back for the tiramisu too ;)

We were presented with the bill before we asked for it £216.75. When asked did they want us to go, the waiter said 'yes, people were waiting for our table'. I don't think we were lingering over the meal, maybe service was not that prompt. I will not go back.

We came here for an amazing meal in restaurant week. The focaccia is stunning, as are the rigatoni and Parpadelle dishes. Really enjoyed our wine too. The desserts were a lemon meringue and chocolate with boozy cherries. I'd only mark this place down because we were unfortunately late to be seated due to the table before us leaving a lot later than planned, which meant a fair few items had sold out by the time to came to order, but the staff were quick to respond by discounting our wine and desserts. Really lovely, worth a visit!

I ate here during the Vinny’s kitchen residency and it was a phenomenal meal, the standard is way above most other restaurants in town. Unique flavors and high quality ingredients even in something as expected as a Caesar salad. I am already looking forward to my next chance to eat here and I highly recommend for any foodies. It would make an excellent date or special occasion meal but get yourself here if you can, even if you haven’t got a reason. Thanks!

It had been a little while since we ate at The Patricia, and seeing the online posts for Vinny's gave us the push we needed to go back, and it didn't disappoint. Having looked at the menu beforehand, we knew we were going four courses so went hungry; it's worth it! A tempting range of starters that we struggled to choose from, some perfectly cooked pasta accompanied by rich sauces with real depth of flavour, a very NY Italian meat course and rounded off with the traditional Italian desserts you hope for. The whole meal was superb, and I haven't even mentioned the cocktails or the wine list. So delighted that Vinny's is in residence for the winter, as it will give us more opportunities to go back soon!

Cosy little restaurant with great food and ambiance. Excellent personal service from the waiter (Angus) without being intrusive. Made a great suggestion for wine to accompany the tasting menu. Little gem in Jesmond - away from all the student bars.

The Patricia is a small upscale place in Jesmond. There are 9 tables and an open kitchen. It is a charming and welcoming place. No room for waiters, so they are very present in the dining area. The winelist is short, very eclectic, and non-traditionalIt offers both a set menu and a small list of a la carte. I went for the full menu (65 pounds). And…well it started out nicely with the best focaccia I ever had. Then followed a series of OK, but forgettable, dishes. There were some very nice ideas, but the overall execution lacked precision, depth and confidence! A few examples: The tuna dish. The tuna was a bit mushy, the smoke in the smoked tomatoes elusive the some goes for the fermented part of the fermented juice. The pasta dish. The pasta with spinach and ricotta was very average in taste and plain out ugly in presentation. The bland tasting tomatoes made a very unnecessary reappearance with the suckling pig. The presumedly malted chocolate tart was fine. I had a glass of cava which I would suggest replacing with something better. The same goes for the Chardonnay. Two more glasses of wine which were OK. Ended up spending around 115 pounds. The service is friendly, but somehow underwhelming. I am not looking for long speeches, but simply leaving plates and glasses and walking off seems awkward. I missed short engaging introductions. Something to grasp my attention and frame the expectations. Overall unfortunately not the meal I had been looking forward to. Which is a shame. There are so many things working well and lots of missed opportunities.

Unassuming exterior belies the vibrant interior. Warm welcome on arrival by friendly front of house team. We selected the 5 course taster menu, which was superb! Our favourite being the Pici pasta dish. However the other courses were all excellent. We also had the extra cheese course, which was a medley of 3 cheeses, served at ambient temperature with Focaccia. The wine list was very interesting, featuring wines from many small European wineries. Overall, our meal experience was enhanced by the eclectic choice of music.

This was a very disappointing meal for the price. This restaurant still in the 80's and believes nouvelle cuisine still fashionable. The lardo was salty, the garlic in the brushchetta was overpowering and the picci was salty. For the main courses: the pork and beef was perfectly done but I could count the number of beans I had with the beef and it came with two fig halves and a spoonful of great blue cheese. The pork was tiny and had 3 tiny baby potatoes cut in half. Not a great selection of desserts but given the size of the meals I expected a bit more but didn't get it. I will certainly not go back

Lovely simple italian menu offered every Monday night, we shared some focaccia & marinated aubergines which were fab. Followed by a pasta dish each (we were warned that the pasta were small portions & advised to order 3 between us) but we aren’t big eaters, so opted for just 2 + deserts. The pasta was delicious albeit tiny as suggested. The panna cotta was ok, the tiramisu was better. All in all a lovely meal but the one thing that stood out was the cost of the wine, not sure there’s that many people who want to spend £40/50+ on a bottle of wine on a Monday night! Wine list attached. We had the Sicilian white which was pretty average. Dinner for 2 cost £80 inc service.

I was passing, decided to pop in. had the taster menu and loved all. started with a Negroni then a few wines. Food was exceptional and front of house was so switched on, and the fella really looked after me. I will go again, most definitely. I could not fault at all. had a lovely evening.

Impersonal service, wine not served to us left in glasses at end of the table. No explanation of what the food is, very slow service and poor that the staff don’t wear uniform but good atmosphere and nice food. Ultimately not convinced it’s worth the high price

For the price we paid, we couldn't believe we had to use the same cutlery throughout the meal!!! Some dishes had creamy sauces and had fish but we still had to use the same knife and fork for other dishes. Food was lovely but served in very small bowls or plates and didn't fill my partner up. Alcohol was very very expensive... we wouldn't go there again!!

We had Delicious, imaginative, innovative food, as usual. The service was friendly, helpful and efficient as always and the atmosphere also relaxed and friendly.

I don't think this was a fine dining experience at all. Staff, although polite, were reluctant to change cutlery between courses and serving the next course before the current one is finished, then a very long wait for the one after. The dessert was good but each of the other courses completely missed the mark with either extremely overpowering ingredients or being completely bland and devoid of flavour. One of my few truly negative restaurant experiences especially considering the price of the tasting menu.

Shocking people, I was unable to attend as I had an accident, and my girlfriend cancelled our reservation, they then had the cheek to charge me £70 cancellation and when I rang to complain they lied and said nobody cancelled but as this screenshot from the restaurant states we clearly did, and the refused to refund my money, and the person I spoke to was extremely arrogant, avoid these shoddy thieving cowboys like the plague.

My comments are comparing this restaurant to the very best. I am fed up of over complex unrecognizable food. For the quality and care of the ingredients and culinary skills this is great value. The service is well meaning and enthusiastic if a little uninformed as to the contents of each dish. I really cannot pick a fault. Even the bread was excellent. Have 3 courses.This is a small place where you can dress up or be informal. It looks nothing from outside.A must for anyone who appreciates very well judged cooking.Not a place for young children.

A foodie friend recommended this place and it was really great. I have to be honest, I wasn't sure when we went in as there was a strong smell of fat and the toilets need a bit of a spruce up but I loved the open kitchen and the simplicity of the decor and unusually for me, I loved the music they played which created a great mood. The waitresses are lovely and the restaurant is small and warm which is another big one for me as I often find restaurants too cold. I also found the lighting great; the attention to detail in the things that make the difference is very good. I started with oysters which were delicious and my husband had a lovely cheese toastie - these are classed as snacks on the menu, and we loved them. My starter was pasta which was simple and delicious whilst my husband had one of the best tuna starters I've ever tasted - loads of flavour. Our main dishes were both really good too; I had slow cooked mutton which fell apart on my plate whilst my husband had a beautiful Spanish influenced fish dish. To finish the Tiramisu was gorgeous! This is a great restaurant with a really skilled team of chefs who know what they're doing. We have eaten at most of the restaurants in Newcastle and it's the best food we've had in a long time. We will definitely return.

One of those restaurants where you know it’s going to be great before you sit down! Starters...Lindisfarne oysters. The most plumptious oysters I have ever had. Mains ...6 year old dairy cow, chips and béarnaise with radicchio. Matchless..perfect, paired with the oddest wine, French vin de garage, but it was perfect , it’s freshness and acidity cutting through the richness. Cheese. Yum . Pudding yum. A chef who knows his stuff. Hope to go again soon.

We have wanted to eat here for a while now, having walked past it on the way to other restaurants in the area. Tonight we went and were not disappointed. The food was delicious especially the starters. Hubby loved his pate and I haven’t had pasta like it in a very long time. We were too full for dessert but that’s ok because we will be back again. The waiting staff were lovely and attentive. Not many places where you can thank the chef for your delicious meal. Don’t walk past, go in. This place is a little gem and we will return.

Reservamos esta comida después de que mi pareja y yo decidimos probar un lugar nuevo y ciertamente no nos decepcionó. ¡Definitivamente regresaremos pronto!Pensé que el personal era extremadamente atento, amable, profesional, agradable y competente. La noche particular que fuimos allí fue un terrible accidente en la carretera principal fuera del restaurante, sin embargo, todo el personal permaneció tranquilo y considerado dentro del edificio, así como respetuoso con la situación en el exterior. No es el restaurante más inspirador desde el exterior, pero mejora por dentro. El almuerzo fijo es una ganga absoluta y podría haber comido cualquiera de las opciones de cada plato. El plato de ragú estaba lleno de sabor y la pierna de pato muy sabrosa. Probablemente la camarera más agradable y eficiente que hemos encontrado en cualquier lugar. Definitivamente volveremos a llamar la próxima vez que estemos en la zona.
