We booked an all inclusive accommodation and food weekend. Everything was just as we would have wished with a very comfortable room and a fantastic ‘around the world’ menu. The wine flowed freely and we just relaxed into a stress free few days.

How this establishment remains open to do trade is beyond me. The authorities really need to clamp down on these rule-breakers who are contributing tenfold to the situation we currently find ourselves in. To add insult to injury, I ordered a Pad Thai and received a Pot Noodle! Outrageous.

We visited again with great anticipation but I’m afraid we were left feeling a little disappointed. We ordered the roast lamb and whilst all the side dishes were excellent the meat was a little disappointing - grey and lacking in flavour. The Tall Sommelier was as attentive as usual but the Pinot Noir was very average indeed. We have put this down as a temporary aberration and will be back as we love the ambience of The Patio.

We booked for lunch and dinner yesterday for the BBQ Feast Day and were not disappointed. Lunch was wonderful stuffed squid and juicy crevettes with grilled lemons and a crunchy fresh salad - just gorgeous. Dinner was a belly of pork rubbed in harissa and cooked on the rotisserie. The crackling was perfect and the meat moist and delicious. The sides of beetroot and cumin, asparagus, more crunchy salad and dauphinois pots were spot on. Wine was included and the tall sommelier was always at hand when glasses emptied. A top restaurant but the booking process is a little on the mysterious side.
