The Patate in Camden

We visited the location at 55 Neal street for a late Sun day night dinner. This was our first time in London, and at the end of a very busy weekend, the restaurant was out of stock of a few items. Tired as they must have been, the staff were friendly, efficient and made us feel very welcome as their last customers that night. We tried a " burger " ( the meat is cooked in the French Bbeef Bourgeon style, and is more the consistency of pulled pork... it is delicious !) with cheddar, cabbage & mushrooms, and also one with Raclette, onion jam and slaw . the meat was moist, tender, and tasty. This little shop is just around the corner from the 7 Dials Hotel, and will provide you with a delcious, budget dinner !

A little bit different to a regular burger as it is a ‘patty’ of beef Bourguignon. Nice enough but not sure it works as a burger. Restaurant is clean and modern with lots of plug sockets but was completely empty when we ate Wednesday early evening. Sadly they only had 1 of the 3 or 4 desserts on offer and despite their worthy sustainable credentials the offerings are fairly limited.

I had the double burger with cheddar, onions, and mushrooms. It was simply amazing. The flavor was tremendous. Far too much for me to eat in one sitting.

Overpriced & didn't meet expectations I ordered a beef burger with blue cheese, with fries and a can of ginger beer The burger was OK but I was expecting something much better tbh, a simple bread with some meat and a questionable blue cheese. No vegetables ? The fries were way too much for one person to eat and very buttery ( probably due to the variety of "patate"they are using. & no mayo or ketchup was provided. The service & the ginger beer was below average. I paid £15 and really regret it. I don't think I will go back again. I'm French btw, and this got nothing to do with France apart avoir la patate.

Ordered takeaway from here - the pictures on the menu compared to the reality were so disappointing. Barely any cheese on the burger or the poutine, the gravy was thin and tasteless, the meat was dry and overcooked. Definitely not coming back here.

Absolutely love this place- the food is faultless, the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. Have been several times and will be visiting again soon. Their special sauce for their burgers and chips is sensational. Food is fresh and you can watch them make it.

Was really sad to see this new business close so soon after opening due to the crisis. But they reopened for takeaways/deliveries about 2 weeks ago and wanted to treat myself so thought I’d check it out. The burger was AMAZING and the chips which came with a truffle mayo were the best I’ve had in years. I’ll definitely be returning.

This has to be the best burger I’ve ever tasted - incredible flavours, the jus is like nectar from the gods! Really enjoyed every bite - brought so much joy in lockdown, thank you X

After reading rave reviews about the beef bourgnion cheeseburger we were excited to try The Patate's burger bar in Kentish Town but my husband and I were very disappointed. The beef patty lacked flavour and the "chilli" bernaise on top definitely contained no chilli!! Without any lettuce/onion/pickles etc the meat was just sandwiched between some cheese and a brioche bun-overral it was all very plain. The chips were a dark brown and extremely soggy. Aside from food, the drinks were limited to soft drinks as they they were yet to obtain an alcohol license. All in all, it's a great concept but poorly executed.

To be Honest, one of the most yummy burger we've ever had! We highly recommend The Patate! The beef Bourguignon is just great ... Meat lovers will definitely enjoy it ! Give it a try, you guys won't regret it!

I’ve had this beef bourguignon burger a few times now. I will keep coming back, as it is absolutely amazing. Not a traditional burger, as it isn’t a preformed patty; however, the gravy they use when heating the beef up takes the flavour to another level entirely. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommended!

Mouthwatering burgers and so filling. The lady at the counter was very friendly. You could really taste the red wine.

Comme promis, on y est retournés. L'année dernière nous nous y étions arrêtés lors de notre visite à Camden, et nous y sommes retournés. Les burger sont toujours aussi bons ! La queue au kiosque en dit long... burger boeuf bourguignon et fromage à raclette avec sauce the patate... les français vous remercient de nous faire honneur !
