I was really looking forward to visit the place after seeing the menu online, but sadly when I arrived to the restaurant there was at least 5 different dishes, if the menu was the same of the one online I would have gone for the 10 courses menu but opted for the 8 instead, which felt like a gimmick anyways because they count the canapés, pre dessert and petit fours as a course, and the cheese course being a shortcut to avoid cooking an extra dish, so in the end I really got 5 courses and paid for 8, I think they do this with everyone. The canapés and the 3 savoury courses were great, but the pre dessert and dessert were really disappointing, not really creative and the dessert left me only with a taste of basil even after the petit fours and a bit of wine that I had left. The service was friendly but sloppy, the tablecloth was dirty and I noticed even before seating but didn’t want to make a fuss out of it. Then I’ve been asked for water twice and got even the wrong one 🤦🏻‍♂️ To order food was way quicker than ordering wine which took like 15 mins and they literally had 5 tables in the room, also the waiting between the courses was way too long, which means that either the front of house or the chefs are very slow. The wine list is embarrassing and as a sommelier myself seems like a set up to rip you off, there’s not a single bottle of wine under £90, also the wines by the glass they have a gap from like £25 to £40 to £125 which is insane, no half bottles either, and for my firsrt glass of wine they didn’t even offer me to taste it before, despite the wines I ordered were both a good value and the guy who served it was decent and had some knowledge. In all this I think it was the owner sitting next to my table with some friends and drinking wine instead of worrying about the mediocre service they give which is not worth of a Michelin star, probably they are just retaining it because they have it for long time and know the people of the guide. 190£ for just myself for that menu and 2 glasses of wine is absolutely not worth it and I won’t recommend anyone that has eye for details to go there. The room itself looks so old that saying that the place feel like is stuck in the 80’s is generous. Feels bad to leave a review like this, in first place because I work in the industry and I never like to talk bad about other places, and because the staff were friendly and offered me also a glass of white wine to go with my cheeses, but after what I spent I feel like it was absolutely outrageous for the food and wines and the only taste that stays in your mouth is bitter. Also for some very weird reasons after the review the owner tries to follow me from his private instagram account probably trying to write me something. He never moved from the table as he stated in the answer and he had about 2 bottles of wine while on duty. Manager apparently that doesn’t know what a salsa verde is made of, letting guests order anything and then go and amend the order which is very annoying, another lady nearly placed my water bottle on the butter plate and so on I can go ahead for 4 pages. This place is completely pitiful and the owner is the most embarrassing and unprofessional I ever seen in my life, drinking while working and also trying to contact people. Avoid at all cost, mediocrity masked for class, which they won’t have even if they will but.

I simply can’t fault the food - it was stunning. However the service was truly disappointing and it felt they were all in training. One of our courses we weren’t even told what the components were on the plate, and some of the table said their plates were cold when they arrived. For a Michelin Star meal I don’t expect just the food to be 5 star, but the service should be too.

Lunch at Pied à Terre Restaurant, the longest standing Michelin starred restaurant in London. The owner David Moore is really nice and best to try it soon as it could close in 2029 when the lease ends. Highlights are that you get super privacy from the outside world here. Moving on to the food, the egg canape was amazing, you have this intense yolk tasting treat with bits of bacon. Their whipped butter served on a slice of agate is not to be under looked as it was fluffy and light as heaven on bread. The French Quail cassoulet is the star of the show because it was cooked just right, bouncy yet tender tasting quail. Overall, an amazing experience.

I was taken there by my family as a birthday surprise. I have eaten in many Michelin star restaurants and Pied a Terre lived up to its reputation. The owner and his staff went above and beyond to look after us, explaing each course and accompanying wine in great detail (we had the taster menu). Over four hours later we left this splendid establishment having enjoyed a wonderful evening.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Pied a Terre where I had the vegan 4-course lunch menu and cocktails. Food was exquisite, the watermelon 'tuna' was particularly well done. Even someone who regularly eats meat said the vegan dishes were excellent. To round off the experience, the cocktails were delicious and well presented. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and having spoken with the owner, David Moore, I discovered more about the artwork which was produced by resident artists. At lunchtime on a weekday, the restaurant was pleasantly busy - a good atmosphere without being noisy or crowded.

Pied à Terre puts a modern spin on French classics, and they nail it. The cassoulet starter was rich and full of depth, while the chocolate mousse dessert was pure indulgence. Add in flawless service, and it’s an experience worth every bite!

We ordered the vegan menu, we liked everything, it even exceeded our expectations. But I didn’t get the aesthetic pleasure from the restaurant itself as I expected. I chose the restaurant based on the picture and video that is in the description. As a result, we were put in a “nook”, which is not even really shown in the video. A box-like room is not at all what I wanted to get after paying a considerable amount. I never saw the restaurant itself, but not only the food is important to me, but also the atmosphere. There was a suspicion that everyone who ordered the vegan option was being put there, I don’t know why we were being put in such a pen. That's the only reason I gave it a 4.

Food was amazing, nothing too experimental which is great for me - just good quality ingredients and good food. They do accept dogs but make sure the dog is small and can ideally sit on your lap/under the table for as long as your meal takes. Fantastic evening at Pied à Terre 👍 the 10 courses menu was a true culinary experience, what a rare feeling for a food lover to think « I have never had something like that » 🤷🏻‍♂️🤤 service was both impeccable and friendly, with lots of funny stories told by Paolo, our extraordinary waiter, and by David Moore himself, who is brilliantly sharing his passion for wine and the beautiful history of his restaurant. The atmosphere is the one of a very chic brasserie (not an intimidating « Michelin starred place » 🙄). The Guinea fowl Cassoulet with its Foie Gras foam was a masterpiece 🤤 so were the smoked Whisky ice cream, the Cannelés, the Salsa Verde, etc. Faultless wine recommendations too (including an amazing Essex Pinot Noir!) what a glorious evening!!!

Terrible experience yesterday, when two of us went for a festive lunch. The restaurant was half empty, with a subdued atmosphere. The food and wine was OK, but nothing special for a Michelin starred restaurant. The really terrible thing was the pricing. We got the 6-course premium lunch for £125. Some stale amuse, one teaspoon of oyster mushroom as a starter, and two teaspoons of bland lobster for the main course. A nice enough chocolate fondant as dessert. I was still very hungry at the end. The wine pairing was even worse value; £100 for four 100ml glasses. That suggests wines selling at £200 per bottle. We asked for evidence of these £200 bottles, but none could be provided. Used to love this restaurant, but won’t be back. You shouldn’t have to leave a restaurant hungry and thirsty when you are charged over £250 per person. Especially at Christmas.

A very different gastronomic experience from anything I've ever had. I ordered the A La Carte dishes, with a starter and a main course, as well as canapés and breads to accompany each dish. The food is amazing! Very delicate and refined flavors, and the presentation of the dishes is impeccable. The menu has few options, which, personally, I don't like - but I recognize that this is the restaurant's proposal, and everything is very well done. The atmosphere is beautiful, with several references to the 70s in the decoration, an aesthetic that I really like. The service is wonderful and we were very well looked after throughout the evening. Personally, it's not a restaurant I would go to again, but it was a very good experience.

100% perfect from start to finish - honestly, I just don't have the vocabulary to describe how wonderful our dining experience at Pied à Terre was. To call this 'food' (I think) is to insult what actually takes place in the dining room - it is otherwordly. The team put all the care and craft into every dish! Who knew you could pack SO much into a single dish! They don't really taste like ingredients - like 'chives' or 'olives' - they taste more like emotions or memories - 'Christmassy' or 'heartwarming' or 'Summery'. Ditto for the cocktails. Every dish we finished made us a little sad because we knew we were getting closer to the end. We really envied the people around us just starting. Partner took us there as a Christmas surprise. This was our first Michelin-star meal, and first £100+ meal ever. She was saving for most of the year to afford it, and I am so grateful she did. Above all, I'm happy I got to come here before I died. 11/10

Food poisoning from a Michelin quality restaurant?! Attended with my partner for our anniversary and had the 10 course tasting menu. The food was nice but not at the same quality as other Michelin restaurants we had attended. Only after we returned home did the trouble start. My partner and I both had food poisoning and spent most of the night and following day in the toilet. This was my first time having oysters and I will ensure it was the last. The service was okay however the sommelier seemed quite rude and abrupt. Cosy atmosphere but can get quite loud at times. The last thing we expected from a restaurant of this quality.

We got a canapé of truffle eggs, an appetizer of scallop for me, and quail for him, and main of halibut and venison respectively. the scallop was the most magnificent thing + the most perfect bite. I actually was pleasantly impressed with the wine pairing/choices for the express lunch and noted the wine down so that I could purchase bottles when I'm back in the States. Had the privilege of being invited to a management social group including dinner at Pied à Terre - what an experience! The intimate room was beautifully decorated, though a bit snug around our table of 14. But who needs elbow room when you're about to embark on a 4-hour culinary journey? The 10-course tasting menu was a parade of edible art. Each dish was a masterpiece of presentation, flavors, and textures. The chefs here are clearly at the top of their game - the taste was perfectly balanced, never veering into "challenging" territory. Service was impeccable. Our glasses were never empty, with excellent wine flowing as freely as the conversation. The attentive staff made the whole evening feel effortless. Now, here's my hot take: the total experience is fantastic but to me it felt like 50% visual spectacle, 30% taste, and 20% appreciation for the craft. Is that the right balance? Maybe, maybe not. But it's certainly an experience worth having. If you can snag a reservation (or better yet, a private dinner invite!), do it. It's pricey, but for a special occasion, Pied à Terre delivers a night you won't forget. It is a Michelin-Starred Feast for the Senses Tip: Bring your camera and your appetite - you'll want to remember every beautifully plated bite!

Average cooking quality. It isn’t bad but unmemorable. Flavor profile is more varied but lacking in interesting variations (temperature, flavor combinations or ingredients). Sweets were mediocre at best. Chocolate mousse was well done but I thought the final course was meh. They all lacked nuance and tasted like something from a candy store. Madeleines were small, too dense and served cold. At the current price point, I wouldn’t return. There are many better Michelin starred restaurants. Service was ok but the front of house couldn’t remember which baggage was ours when there were only 4-5 tables. I think that speaks volumes about how they view patrons

We enjoyed some lovely food at la pied a terre. I had the omnivore 8 course tasting menu and my mum had the plant-based 8 course tasting menu. The morel dish was one of the nicest dishes I have ever eaten. The truffled egg / aged Parmesan dish was also lovely. However the restaurant is quite small and so it got rather noisy. We were able to hear the conversations going on at tables at the other end of the restaurant. There was also a clear difference in the service given to those who ordered the wine tasting menu and those who didn’t.The servers spent a great deal of time talking to the table next to us (they ordered the wine tasting), but didn’t talk much to us at all. We often felt rather neglected at times. I finished my drink and at no point did someone come over and ask if I would like another. We were asked after several of the courses if we enjoyed the dish, but they often wandered off before we had the chance to answer! After one of the courses, they cleared away the plates whilst I was still eating which made me feel very rushed. When you are paying a lot of money you expect better service. It let the evening down for us. We have dined at better plant-based Michelin-starred restaurants that are not as expensive, with much better service and ambience.

I went the other week with my boyfriend but I’ve only got round to making a review now. We went as I am vegetarian and this restaurant is meant to have award winning vegetarian menus. We opted for a 3 course meal instead of the tasting menu, and after the first course (albeit very small for the expensive price per person) it was tasty. However, the vegetarian options for the main course was carbonara which was very thick and stodgy. It also makes me feel rather upset the fact I paid so much money just for some egg and spaghetti. We didn’t have the desert as we were disappointed with the mains so didn’t want to spend any more money. It wasnt until a day after we realised the £100 deposit hadn’t even been taken off our final bill! and so along with paying well over a hundred for some carbonara and a starter each, we were almost scammed out our deposit too but luckily I remembered that one was taken and phoned them up for a refund of the deposit!

Responding to email asking for reviews. My wife and I dined at this restaurant numerous times over the last 10 years, always having the vegetarian tasting menu. However, as she is a vegetarian and not a vegan, our last few visits have been disappointing - we visited 3 times under Covid restrictions and twice since that time. "Veganzola" and protein-based artificial pork ribs aren't a patch on when you offered a proper vegetarian menu with egg based courses, whipped cheeses and, going back far enough, a full cheese board or even pre-pandemic a pre-set cheese course. Visiting during the pandemic we were told (by David himself) that the vegetarian option had been dropped due to kitchen space and social distancing, however that period is long gone and on our last visit in October, it was notable that the menu had been printed with Vegetarian at the top but was in fact entirely vegan (although you did provide butter when asked). We now tend to visit Pollen St Social on our London trips when wanting the tasting experience as they still offer a menu for the vegetarian plus a full cheese board, not having gone full vegan. I wouldn't be surprised if our view on this isn't shared with other diners, given the older clientèle we've tended to see in Pied-a-Terre, and the pattern of vegans mainly being of younger generations.

We had the most wonderful lunch - the beautiful and delicious courses just kept coming. Overall a truly delightful experience. The highlight for me was the risotto - that delicate crispy edible crown was too good to eat (until I tasted it!) and the risotto underneath had so much depth of flavour. We were impeccably well looked after by our lovely waiter and sommelier, who explained each of the wines in our wine flight with such interesting anecdotes and descriptions. It made the whole experience really enjoyable. The space itself and the ambience are also great. Intimidate, classy, stylish. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you so much David, chef Asimakis and all the team for a very memorisable afternoon.

Incredible. The best fine dining in London, hands down. The food is incredible and really imaginative - particularly for the vegan/vegetarian menu. Great to be able to have choice for various dietary requirements. The chef is a genius and all of the staff from front of house to the kitchen are superb. When there's a special occasion, Pied a Terre is without a doubt the place to go (for me). If I could afford it, I'd eat there every day.

Pied a Terre was my first Michelin experience and it is a restaurant I will always return too, and for any and every occasion. Everything about it is special. The dining room is beautiful, the service is spot on without being fussy and the food... exquisite. When I decided to switch to a vegan diet I thought my fine dining days were passed, and then in stepped these guys. If you have a larger number of guests make sure you use the private dining room. I was a bit hectic with my booking with people dropping out, adding people in etc and nothing was too much. I received some flowers when I arrived which was such a lovely touch.

For a restaurant that hosts a vegan masterclass, I would have expected some level of kindness and compassion when errors occur as they often do in business, particularly given their large role in the misunderstanding. A friend purchased a voucher for a masterclass and it took several calls to get it booked as phone calls were not returned. I get an email confirmation stating an erroneous time from the restaurant indicating that the class started at 12. They say they sent another email (that I did not receive) indicating that the class time was at 10 not 12. They say this email was sent on the 3rd of March, which was nearly 3 weeks ago. They also say they left a voicemail which was not received by me. I had it in my schedule to attend the class at the time of the date confirmation they sent to me which confirmed that the class was at 12. A person named Ciara called me when we did not show up at 10am urging me to get to restaurant as soon as possible, and I stated that I thought the class was at 12 as per their communication. I found her to be curt, rude, and condescending. She cancelled the reservation on her end and called later to tell me that no accommodation would be provided to reschedule. I spoke with her again and I found her to be further condescending in her manner of speech when they had a large role to play in the misunderstanding of the time. Why would you send a calendar invite with the wrong time and then put the blame on the client for planning to show at the time you indicated in the calendar invite? I would never, ever frequent this restaurant to dine or for their “masterclass” and would encourage anyone who is thinking of attending the vegan masterclass to think of the many other options that are available in London.

A real gem of a restaurant. The service was friendly and engaging (without being over the top). The team were knowledgeable and helpful on the menu - and made some excellent wine pairings. The food itself was really high quality - French cuisine but with a Greek influence, and the tasting menu ensured that we tried a lot of dishes that we wouldn't normally select. Overall one of the best restaurants we've ever visited - highly recommend.

Have to agree with Debbie R on this one (see review from 5 months before this one). Had the 10 course tasting menu but I could tell from the moment I arrived that we may be in for an average experience. Musty smell and the staff whilst friendly weren’t up to standard for a Michelin restaurant. There was not one person who conducted themselves as if you were at a Michelin restaurant. It was a circus with average food. My friend and I visit a lot of Michelin star restaurants on a regular basis. I would try another if it’s a one off treat. Perhaps St Bart's or Muse for true Michelin star experience.

The most delightful tasty and imaginative vegan menu. We had the 8 course tasting menu and every dish was superb. Some favourites were saffron fava canapé, the smoked artichoke and the chocolate pumpkin dessert not to mention the petite four. As you would expect there was an extensive drinks menu and you can pair wines if you wish. There was also a great selection of Mocktails. The service was impeccable. Disappointing for the price! When we booked a table, the weekday lunch menu was at £65. We went there, same menu but at £95! They have updated the prices for Christmas they said!! So when we booked they asked us to choose a menu for the booking and we had selected the £65 menu but they did not think to let us know that prices have magically increased! Not fair at all! We chose the 6 course menu! First surprise, the canapés represent one of the courses on the menu! The mini desserts at the end will be one a course as well! It' the first time I've seen this in a gourmet restaurant! And they don't serve butter with breds! So the 6-course menu is actually a hidden 4-course!! Big disappointment too as the remaining courses are only 4 small dishes, the main is as big as the starter! However, the food was good! We had the risotto as a starter which was delicious and very well presented! Finally, for the main, which was really small for a main, we had the seabass, which was excellent! Then, the cheese millefeuille was a real disappointment! The millefeuille was hard and dry and difficult to cut with a knife! Inside, there are coarsely cut pieces of cheese, meant to have truffle which we could not taste! The presentation of this dish did not look like a Michelin restaurant at all! For desert, the chocolate hazelnut mousse was excellent! The chef's knowledge of mousses is excellent, they were the best mousses I've ever had! The canapé with egg and feta was excellent too! And to finish, 3 mini desserts that count as a main course! So we ended up being hungry! This 6 course meal is clearly missing 1 main course! There was a big imbalance with 3 starters and 3 desserts! We had the impression that we were moving on to dessert very quickly! Overall, the food was very well presented, fine and good, the balance of tastes was there! But the portions were too small even for a Michelin star restaurant so it was too overpriced! It was a £70 menu, not £95! For £95 a dish was missing! I know much better places in the area with better menus for that price! In addition, the mocktails were really not at the level of the restaurant, so I would not recommend ordering them at all! So it was a good time but we won't be coming back because cooking is also about generosity and greed! This restaurant won't be one of our favourites in London at that price! But otherwise very friendly staff! And the room was ok; not a big fan of side by side sitting, I prefer face to face!

Been there for our anniversary in December 2022, had a lovely experience! French cuisine with a Greek-Mediterranean twist is all you can hope for for a happy meal, which also uniquely positions this place among other Michelin-starred restaurants. The atmosphere is chique but the warm attitude of the personnel makes it a cosy place rather than a cold, ultra-professional environment. Perfect for a date or family-friends gathering. Looking back, the carpet at the entrance to the dining room was perhaps a sign that all would not be well on our trip to Pied a Terre. It gave off a slight smell reminiscent of an old pub and was slightly tacky underfoot - unexpected for a Michelin-starred restaurant. Even when we were seated at a large table - the only thing generous during the night - there was a strange tension in the air. Despite the lack lustre welcome I remained hopeful that Pied a Terre hadn’t lost its passion given how long it’s held that star for. We started our tasting menu journey with the tiniest trio of largely unremarkable snacks - the best of which was a smaller-than-bite-sized portion of smoked sardine. This was followed by a pleasant and pretty cauliflower and trout mousse dish. “How was it?” Asks our assigned front of house (FOH) person. “Fine. It could have done with a touch of citrus,” I reply. “I’ll tell the chef,” he says. My least favourite dish followed. It’s hard to get a dish that’s mainly potato right though not impossible (Restaurant Story a few years back A+). Where to begin with this one - grainy yet gluey, overworked mash served cold with a salted cod skordalia (which I couldn’t taste), one ring of crispy shallot, garlic, dill and caviar. I couldn’t manage more than the one chilly teaspoonful - it was that unpleasant. As if sensing my discomfort our FOH guy asks: “How was it?” “Not for me,” I say. “I’ll tell the chef,” he replies with a frown. The asparagus and crayfish that came next was okay but under seasoned and lukewarm. “Yeh nice,” I tell the FOH. I’m starting to feel under pressure. Our fourth course - red mullet on top of a firm mousse, courgette flower stuffed with mousse and one morel stuffed with the same mousse served with a harissa sauce without a hint of heat. I feel FOH’s presence looming: “How was it?” “Ok though wasn’t expecting the same mousse in the fish, courgette and mushroom.” His eyes, face and voice light up: “Ahhh well chef tried it with 3 different mousses and it didn’t work. So if he’s gonna do 3 mousses they’re gonna be the same.” “Ok,” I say hesitating… “But why do you need three mousses? A perfectly cooked piece of red mullet already has flavour.” He blinks and looks a bit crestfallen…”I’ll tell the chef.” Up next the main - assiete of rabbit, thankfully perfectly cooked and tender, with carrot, sea buckthorn and a cep reduction. “Are you just saying it’s ‘nice’ cos you’re worried about me telling the chef? asks FOH. “Errrm. It was nice…could have been warmer,” I grimace. The palette cleansers/pre desserts were pretty tasty especially the cherries with melon and mint sorbet and to my surprise - the best course was yet to come. I dislike strawberries so the millefeuille was out for me. My vegan substitute - a chocolate mousse with a balsamic beetroot sorbet was outstanding. Our weary FOH: “How was it?” “Truly delicious. That sorbet is phenomenal.” “Great. I’ll tell the chef.” He looked so happy I didn’t have the heart to add the mousse needed to be a touch sweeter to counteract the near painful sourness of the sorbet. Pied a Terre - pretty food but ultimately a soulless experience. It’s not a returner for me though glad to have ticked it off the list.

"We visited Pied à Terre for our wedding anniversary. First off, the staff were truly attentive, greeting us with 'Happy Anniversary' upon arrival. The appetizer canapés were good, and the two pieces of meat in the main course were ok, the rabbit one is under average. However, having been to many Michelin-starred restaurants, I expected better experience. A piece of plastic was found inside the stuffed zucchini flower in the fish dish. I was mu last bite of plate, I initially thought it was a fishbone, but upon trying to split it, I realized it wasn't. I discreetly informed the staff member who took the plate away and was told it would be conveyed to the kitchen. Yet, no one came to apologize, and service continued as if nothing happened. I refrained from making a big deal since it was our anniversary and I didn't want to ruin the mood. Even at a chain restaurant, if plastic is found in your dish, an explanation or apology is expected, that was surprising. At the end of the meal, we were presented with a dessert plate that had 'Happy Anniversary' written with macarons – I'm adding an extra star for this gesture. Taste-wise, it was an average experience. As for value for money, it was definitely lacking. We paid approximately £500 for an 8-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Disappointed overall

Very underwhelming experience. We have dined in several Michelin star restaurants around the world and love a good experience. This restaurant was a great disappointment. We had the evening menu, which appears to be dishes from the menu but to share and therefore double the price, other tables had ordered regular meals and they appeared to be the same size as the one we had to share. Secondly the food was just not great. Very normal, nothing extraordinary or special in any kind of way, rather boring and bland. Also the service was unable to speak proper English therefore the communication was difficult. The wine had to be self-served, the bottle was left at the table, no-one checked on us to refill our glasses. When we spoke up regarding missing fish cutlery, we got a rude answer from the waiter that he can cut it perfectly fine and would do it for us if we struggled 😳. No explanation on the dishes was given, just placed in front of us. Also the restaurants atmosphere is not great, it is very busy as the kitchen is on the upper floor and you can see and hear the waiters running up and down the hallway. The bar in the upper floor is operated in a loudly manner. When we asked to waive the service charge, our waitress was not able to understand the ask herself and called the manager who discussed the situation, so a bad meal with bad service was followed by a socially awkward conversation. We would have expected a price reduction at the very least. Would not recommend, genuinely don’t understand how they managed to get a Michelin Star.

It was a while since we had been to Mon Plaisir and we were pleased that we had returned. The staff seemed less French but the food was decidedly so and both aspects were very good, albeit we waited a little longer than expected for our main courses. We selected from the main menu and seasonal specials rather than the good value set menu, so it was quite an expensive lunch, especially with the very good house champagne at £17 a glass and glasses of wine at 13 or 14. Our mains ranged from 28 to 36. Overall, very good but quite pricey.
