Pretty good food, more in line with Italian cuisine as it is a French restaurant. Even in the service and table setting. Prices in line with the city, very expensive for us Italians. Nice place.

Wonderful place that seems to have been in its locale for ever. Something of a warren, but not unpleasantly so! . Food was excellent with wonderful onion soup and delightful pork loin with calvados sauce standing out for me. Had to queue to get in as table being prepared for group in front of us, but unsure why that stopped the greeting of others! Our visit slightly undermined by a nearby diner whose views of the world he was keen to share with all and sundry, but that was not the fault of the restaurant. Well worth a visit

I love Mon Plaisir and have been going there for years, but I do think that recently the quality of the food has declined a little. It doesn't seem so hot a fresh as before, and I recently had the impression that my dish of guinea fowl had been waiting around a bit. The chips could have been hotter too. I go for the ambiance now rather than the food.

I have eaten at Mon Plaisir several times before, and have never had a poor experience. The food is unfailingly good, with a menu that features regular favourites and seasonal specials that are beautiful examples of excellent French Cuisine. The ambience is unapologetically old school, and you could easily imagine yourself in a South Bank cafe in Paris in the early 50’s! But the service is excellent and the staff always friendly. Try the Tarte Tatin for dessert, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Have to say the food looked delicious and the place is so beautiful. We got a table for two in few minutes although it was packed on a Friday evening. We were in a hurry so we wanted to order as soon as possible. Our waiter for the table asked us to wait for 2 minutes and didn’t appear for like good 15mins after waiting for 15mins I asked for tissues, didn’t get that either. Asked a lady (was looking like a manager) gave the tissues but have to say in a very rude manner as we asked something that would required a lot of efforts. Was definitely disappointed by the service. Just ordered two glasses of wine and fries and basket of bread and butter (which we didn’t get, but was added on the bill) we asked to remove it from the bill. Paid the money but even that required good 15mins. Would definitely recommend to atleast have more staff on weekends cause these many people couldn’t handle the footfall in the restaurant.

The Mon Plaisir salad was a meal in itself, delicious and a good alternative to a mains if you have a small appetite. For both of us, the meat was cooked perfectly (steak and pork respectively.) Excellent and authentic food with enough atmosphere for the pre-theatre crowd (which included us). My partner was snapped at for trying to enter the restaurant 10 mins before official opening (the door was open). The red wine choice was unconvincing by the glass - white wine selection by the glass much better. Worth a try if you like French cuisine, though it is a little mixed with no real regional bias, so some French people might not like that and find it a little less authentic. Every single dish we had was great, however, and even the gluten free bread at the beginning was tasty. Recommended.

No volveré.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food we ordered (escargots, duck confit and the scallops with king prawns - photos attached) and the food was fairly authentic. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert! Cuisine was excellent, wine was excellent & we were really enjoying the experience up until 5.00.pm when a somewhat aggressive waitress followed by an equally aggressive senior waitress demanded we pay the bill & leave within 10 minutes. The reason given was the restaurant had another booking which needed our table. At this point the restaurant was completely empty. We were about to buy some Port & coffees to finish the afternoon. The attitude of these 2 staff members spoilt an otherwise a fantastic experience & tarnished our memory of Mon Plaisir. The staff need extensive training before we are persuaded to return. Our bill was £550 which is not a small amount. Could do better.

Unfortunately the current policy is not to open it at lunchtime with the result that service is limited to a small area with only a basic atmosphere. Hence the once fully enjoyable experience of visiting the restaurant is lost. Why do the owners not utilise one of the restaurant's finest assets to their advantage? What was once one of my favourite luncheon spots has lost its charm - a great shame.

I started with the wild mushroom croustillant, followed by salmon fish cake with Hollandaise sauce, spinach and salad. Apple Tarte Tatin with espresso for dessert. Service was really bad, DO NOT GO. They charged me 11£ for a latte and one pastry. There was not enough seating, the floor was dirty, and the waiter was rude

Story Cellar, a Parisian-inspired rotisserie-style neighborhood restaurant by chef Tom Story, holds a one Michelin star. The beef fillet was the standout dish, but the rest of the items fell short, including their renowned chicken rotisserie. The artichoke soft serve was both creative and delicious.
