Popped in for a high quality Cornish pasty for lunch. The Pasty Shop sells pasties on a par with Rowes, Warren's & Phelps. Choice today was a Large traditional steak rather than a Giant. Served by a young lady who was probably the most friendly and courteous I've come across in The New St Station Pasty Shop, and I have bought many pasties from here. Quality of the pasty was all the better for it. Plenty of filling and just enough pepper.

My train was delayed so I popped in to get a mocha and kill the time. Jordan was really chatty and friendly, really refreshing to see. Plus the mocha was lovely. Would 100% recommend.

Pretty poor pasty..no flavour, hardly any filling, pastry wasn't cooked evenly, just broke apart in the bag after 5mins of travel and it's so small for £7! Will definitely not buy from here again!

Visited today. Wanted to buy a bottle of water. Took it to counter 2 staff one went through to the back the other was stacking the fridge with water. I asked if anyone serving and was told I would have to wait until she had finished stacking the water. I left without purchasing anything as had a train to catch. Surely the water stacking could have waited! Bad customer service

I was served here today by a really wonderful assistant - she said her name was Katie (she was blonde and petite). She recommended the vegan sausage roll and it was delicious. Even though you could tell she was busy, she gave outstanding customer service to me. I rarely leave reviews, but I wanted the assistant’s management to be aware of the exceptional staff they have working there.

It was a complete delight to meet Jordan who is the the most friendly and helpful person at New Street Station. The Pasty Shop is my go to comfort food and space.

After spending £5 on a bacon roll I'm very disappointed with your service. No butter on the roll and hardly any bacon as it was full of fat. Gave it the dog, even he spat it out.

got a "too good to go" lunch time bag which consisted of a bacon sandwich, and a sausage roll and pasty pulled off the hot plate there and then. the bacon roll was a little hard by the time we got it home but it was nothing a damp bit of Polly roll wouldn't solve and it was actually edable once reheated both the pasty and the sausage roll were also very tasty and flavoursome. would i pay the 6 quid for the pasty and 5 quid for the sausage roll probs not as its a tad expencive but for a TGTG bag not bad

Genuine Cornish Pasty Well they should be had up by trading standards Got to be the worst Pasty I've ever had.and that includes Ginsters that's saying something. I have to take my hat to the owners who responded. With an honest reply. I will pop in again and try another Pasty if you are going to improve the cornish Pasty

I don't know why people in the reviews are comparing this to Greggs. The Pasty Shop does authentic cornish pasties, just like you get in Cornwall. Greggs does basic pasty-style products that are nothing like Cornish pasties (vastly inferior in every way) and hence obviously cheaper. You get what you pay for..

Tried this place for the first time last week and I was surprised how good it was. I had a vegetable pasty and my husband had a chicken and mushroom pasty must say they were very crispy and fulfilling, unfortunately do not have any photos. The guy who served us was super nice, will definitely be going back. FYI you do need a valid train ticket as it’s past the ticket barriers.

Olivia provided me with great service and good conversation as I passed by the pasty shop whilst waiting for my train. Not to mention the amazing food I will definitely be returning again.

Mo is an outstanding person, she Has a welcome smile at all times When ever you enter the shop or Even outside of the shop, she delivers an excellent service, so am Giving Mo a five 🌟. Emma is a very warm and friendly person, she have very good customer skills which is second to none, Emma is passionate about the idea s she have for the company. Emma have a good team which she managed, and then told me how happy they are to have Emma as their manager. Emma is good listener and with a happy smile. Decent shop, good for a stop over. But expensive, one pasty will cost the same as an entire Greggs feed. Still good for a change and good for a quick stop. Get the wedges, and the vegan sausage roll is potentially better than Greggs. 4/5, would probably visit again.

I recently encountered a rather disturbing experience at the pasty store located at Birmingham New Street. Upon entering the shop , I was met with a surprising level of rudeness from the staff. The store assistant, appeared to be annoyed by my accent , even making several comments regarding my accent while I was walking out of the shop . Overall , the whole experience made me feel embarrassed and the staff were displaying a visible lack of professionalism. I will make sure I will avoid this shop in the future .

I must recount a rather distressing experience I recently encountered at a pasty store located at Birmingham New Street. Upon entering the establishment, I was met with an unexpected level of indifference from the staff. The attendant, seemingly more engrossed in her personal correspondence via mobile phone, made me wait unnecessarily, displaying a palpable lack of professionalism. When I finally placed my order, I opted for a breakfast roll, anticipating a satisfactory meal. However, I was profoundly disappointed. The roll presented was not only hardened to an almost inedible degree, but the meat and egg components were egregiously overcooked. This resulted in a texture that was dry and unpalatable, far from the quality one would expect from such an establishment. Given the urgency of my travel schedule, I had no choice but to take the offending item with me as I hurried to catch my train. Unfortunately, upon attempting to consume the breakfast roll, I found it so unpleasant that I was compelled to discard it in a bin, a clear testament to its inadequacy. This experience was not merely inconvenient but also a flagrant waste of money, leaving me not only dissatisfied but also somewhat appalled by the lack of attention to quality and customer service. The encounter has certainly marred my perception of this pasty store, and I am left to ponder the standards to which it holds itself.

It’s expensive!! The staff are nice though and it’s nicely decorated, and clean. It was a bit disappointing for the price, as the sausage roll pastry was really hard. The pasty was lovely and tasty so I would get that again if I’m in the area for the train. You do have to go through the ticket barriers to reach the shop, I got off at platform 7 and it was upstairs nearby.

It's a fine place for a quick and tasty pasty for lunch. There are also a couple of vegan options here too: a pasty and a sausage roll. It's on the train-side of the ticket barrier.

I paid for two coffees by card which was fine, but then went back for another and paid by cash. Upon this the member of staff gave me the wrong change. I said excuse me and explained. She snatched the £5 off me and gave me a £10 note. I explained that was still wrong as I gave her a £20 note. She started laughing as if something was really funny with another girl. I said to my sister what's so funny and then the attitude of the staff was disgusting. I was shouted at accused of being racist. I have never been spoken to like that and I work with the public and it is no way to speak to people. It was Saturday 2nd December, if that's how they treat customers they are in the wrong job.

Not the best of pasties. Luke warm and not as much flavour as I had expected. Potato was overcooked with poor texture. My standards based on West Cornwall Pasties found on other rail stations.

I was shocked to see the sausages and bacon on the same tray as the eggs, as someone who does not eat meat I was put of by this immediately, please can you separate the eggs so we can enjoy a egg breakfast bap and not worry it had been cross contaminated with meat. The staff member wasn’t helpful and told me to complain

Needed a Coffee and hate the usual brands. This is gorgeous 😍. Flat white strong chocolatey Coffee. Really good.

Wow! How expensive is this place. Bought a steak and ale pasty to eat on the train. This expensive pasty was the pastry equivalent of Where's Wally only you're hunting the steak. Awful, no return visit for me

Having arrived at Birmingham New street Station,I was very hungry. Decided to buy a “Steak Pasty”from pasty shop. Bad move,I had taken a couple of bites,and when I looked there was something sticking out of Pasty that I didn’t recognise. Upon closer inspection,it appeared to be some sort of tube. It was white in colour about 4 inches long when I pulled it out of Pasty. It was like the structure of a vein but it was rather large. I have to be honest I started gagging. I had by this point left the Station,on my way to Hotel. My Cousins witnessed this disgusting thing In my Pasty. Never ever will I buy another Pasty from this establishment, When I think about it I want yo be sick.l paid £5.89 for this muck,for it to go in a Bin. My advice is Don’t buy “Steak Pasty” from Psdty Shop. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I am not going to review the cornish or the price because I knew it was going to be same as I expected. What I did notice was that the two girls who served me were very friendly and welcoming. I also noticed that they continued to work hard even when there were no customers, as opposed to just sitting around checking their phones I just think that they deserve a mention for their politeness and attitude

After spending 8 days in glorious Devon and Cornwall - where competition between established pasty shops is fierce - I thought I’de sample one again here mid journey north before sourcing authentic pasties vanish and only lame hybrid mass produced versions missing their crimped crusts are only found in the high street at Greggs. I was served my choice of “ Four cheeses”piping hot accompanied by a fruit squash drink within seconds. This is train forecourt dining on the go but sadly I felt my choices were rather pricey at £8.89. My pasty’ s pastry tasted bland and its filling unseasoned as well. I could only taste a mild cheesy filling. All in all sadly not worth the price.

Been travelling overnight and needed food, thought about a pasty but the giant sausage rolls were selling for £3.99 each so grabbed one. It was lovely and enormous... certainly filled more than a small corner!

Haven't eaten meat for 10 years, asked for a vegetable pasty and they must've accidentally given me a meat one, wasn't even very nice meat😢

Gave 2 stars because although the food was hot and the service was good i felt ill afterwards from eating the vegetable pasty. Also the prices are so expensive will not be returning again here.

Always find the selection of pasties wide ranging although I always have the normal Cornish pasties. Shame the costs are high as would shop there more often if more reasonably priced.

Going back to Chester after an hospital appointment in Bham,came across this place,saw a deal for Pasty, Wedges n drink, asked for said meal to be told no wedges, this was around 6pm, decided to just have a Chicken and Mushroom pasty and a coffee,pasty very good, coffee not so,nice polite young lady behind the counter,was expensive but you expect that at Railway stations and services.

I often buy pasties at other branches of the Pasty shop, what an absolute let down here. £3.99 For a dried up, tempid veg pasty with absolutely no moisture to the filling. Expensive & rubbish. I'd head over to Greggs or Prey if you at peckish at Birmingham new street station instead :(

Bit disappointed with the coffee for the price they charge. Pasties look nice, overall the place is a bit depressing!

Really enjoy their selection of pasties but has to be just occasional visits due to price. Staff always pleasant but always seem rushed.
