Taken 2 hours for delivery. Food was cold & not edible. Never again, called to complain & told next meal will give 20% discount. Paid £4 delivery on top of the food price, COLD food. Will never use again.

Excellent food and service - some of the best Chinese food I have had and my partner loves the tofu dishes. Love the freebies they throw in as well with each order, this has become our regular takeaway and we’re so glad we found it.

The chicken and pork dish I ordered came with three massive prawns in. Luckily I don't have any allergies, but I'm grossed out by seafood so it did ruin the meal a bit for me. I should be wolfing it down, not picking at it going "eww, is that ANOTHER prawn?" Two stars because when you are specifying what meat/sauce you are getting on your menu, that's what the customer should get. No nasty surprises! The rest of the food we had was really nice and lovely, and to be honest some of the best Chinese we've had. It really was tasty! But they either lack attention to detail when putting orders together, or their menu is incorrect and doesn't accurately tell you what you're getting. If you're a bit squeamish about certain products like me (or have dietary requirements such as not eating pork) definitely clarify what's in a dish before ordering it. The menu isn't accurate and that's unacceptable. Please note: this takeaway is a cash-only business. There is an ATM a couple of doors down if you forget and turn up with just your card. No online order service available, it's telephone only.

The Pastures is a fantastic Chinese Take Away with wonderful Cantonese, Peking and Szechuan food offering a great choice of dishes. Everything we have ordered has been delicious - in fact the chef/owner has worked for a number of popular Chinese restaurants in Leicestershire. Any of their deep fried dishes such as the king prawn balls and the crispy curry triangles are absolutely fantastic as the oil is changed very frequently, while the curry dishes are very fragrant and made with all sorts of wonderful ingredients. There are also economical set dinners which are very good value, and there is a good selection of vegetarian food. This is a family run business and the staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful and efficient. There is also a home delivery service. A wonderful gem with consistently good quality food. I can honestly say that this is the best Chinese take away in the area.
