After a long day shopping in Bromley, my friend and I were looking forward to some fish and chips and decided to check out The Partridge Pub. This was actually my first time inside, despite having lived in Bromley my whole life, and I was excited to finally try it. We even went as far as asking one of the younger staff members for her honest opinion about their fish and chips. She hadn’t tried it herself but told us it had good reviews, which reassured us that we’d made a solid choice. Once seated, my friend and I began checking out the menu, debating on whether to add a starter or maybe even a dessert. Just as we were getting comfortable, an older man from the staff abruptly approached us with zero greeting or warmth and, without any pleasantries, bluntly asked, “Do you two have ID?” The lack of any kind of courtesy caught us off guard right away. There was no “Hello” or “How are you”—just a cold question about ID. I politely explained that I didn’t have my physical ID with me, but I could show him a photo of it, since I am 25. My friend, who is 28, had her passport, which was only expired by a week. Instead of offering any understanding, he immediately shut us down, saying he wouldn’t accept it. His tone was dismissive and even slightly aggressive, which made the situation feel needlessly confrontational. We were taken aback because we hadn’t even walked up to the bar yet and had no plans to order any alcohol—we were there simply to enjoy a meal. This detail seemed to make no difference to him, as he seemed unwilling to listen or show any understanding whatsoever. After a few awkward exchanges, it was clear he wasn’t interested in accommodating us, so we decided to leave. This whole encounter left a really sour taste, and we ended up feeling as though we weren’t welcome. It’s sad, especially when so many pubs are built on warm hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for customers, whether they’re regulars or new faces. The Partridge Pub unfortunately fell short in every way when it came to customer service. It’s unfortunate that such a promising evening ended in such a disappointing way. If this is the level of service they offer to potential new customers, I can’t imagine recommending The Partridge to anyone looking for a friendly and enjoyable experience. We ended up going elsewhere and having a lovely meal, but it’s a shame that we had to go through this negative experience first.

Nice old school pub with decent food and great live music. Most staff friendly but there’s one that seems like he’s rather be somewhere else!

Out with friends and the soul band was great but how can you charge £29.00 for a house bottle of wine in a pub. Such a shame, put a damper on our evening so went somewhere cheaper! This is a standard pub!

We came into the partridge on 23rd September 2023. Had a bottle of red, a tea. Then 2x A Spritz and a Rum and coke. We were a party of three in our 40’s. The lady in our party is a light weight, and when she went to the bar she got refused. So one of us went up instead to get her some water, I was drinking tea, and wanted blackcurrant and lemonade. However I was refused. This is both irresponsible of the pub, one not giving water and two not serving me, non alcoholic drinks. We went there for the band but, the lady on the bar ran up the bar to the man serving me and said don’t serve them the lady needs to go home. Won’t be coming back here again, you should be ashamed!!!

Made several visits to the Partridge when we were recently in Bromley. This used to be my ' Local ' when living in the area and it was nice to be back. Enjoyed the range of beers as well as a snack a Lunchtime. Service always good , except for Staff who were there on Wednesday 26th July , who showed a lack of customer service skills ( Please note ! ) towards a group of friends who joined me for a drink that evening. The only blemish, fortunately , in thousands of visits , so suffice to say I will return when next in the area.

Went with my family this evening for dinner. My wife and elder son (15) were seated and when I turned up with my 11 year old I was told that children weren’t allowed in! Quite repetitively… I interrupted the bar tender to say yes I understand I just want to find my wife so we could leave. Hence the rating. Also I suggest that if children are not allowed you should take the children’s menu off. Bit pointless really

I had a great high ceiling head room, real ale experience. It is an old fashioned ,well run pub. No screaming children, good beer, including one of my faves Fullers ESB. A really good place to have pre - theatre or whatever grown up drinks! Polite and, apparently, genuinely helpful staff. Great for shopping break etc. Love the place. Live music some nights too! Great! In my view, the best pub in Bromley with a good food menu. H of the World.

First night out for an indoor meal since latest lockdown, great pub serving good food, not so many food choices but something for everyone. We were seated at the rear of the pub, tables socially distanced and all staff wearing masks and tables wiped down . We had a couple of drinks then ordered food, food arrived promptly, well presented. I had the fish and chips, on the menu it came with triple fried chips but sadly my chips appeared oven cooked and not crispy at all. Overall it was a good night in a comfortable setting in a great traditional pub. I am hoping they will put the fish pie back on the menu as it is really gorgeous

This town-centre pub looks relatively standard from the outside but inside the bank conversion has been beautifully done. Food and drink is Fullers’ standard, but all executed well. We had a great steak and London Pride pie washed down with Dark Star Hophead. This is a large pub, nicely decorated old building and we were seated in one of the smaller cosier areas. We received good friendly service and all 4 of us enjoyed our roasts. Good selection of vegetables and gravy to pour on yourself rather than already swamped in gravy. There were good crisp roast potatoes and good home cooked Yorkshire puddings. Delicious sticky toffee pudding however not sure the salted caramel ice cream went with it as it was extremely salty.

As an occasional visitor to Bromley I try and take in lunch at the partridge, but on this visit my usual meal of steak and ale pie was a disappointment. The meat was much less flavoursome than usual with a stringy texture. My wife had the hop smoked haddock which she thoroughly enjoyed so a 50/50 result. We came here on a weeknight and it was still very crowded. All though a very beautiful looking pub due to the high ceilings, once you get a crowd in it gets so loud you can’t hear what is being said even if you shout. Unfortunately there is no fix for that. The wait to order food and drinks was very long. They appeared to be short staffed that night as no one was clearing tables so we had to wipe down our tables our selves. They were out of a lot of food items. Food was a long time coming but it was hot and tasty when it arrived. Half the bar was covered in dirty glasses which was kind of a turn off. All things considered our experience wasn’t too bad and we would return for a second chance.

this is a Fullers pub, so the beer is good, bit limited. the food is good but, again, limited and overpriced. Their specialty is pies. A major plus point for this pub, if you are over 40, is that it seems to attract the older drinker. The majority of pubs in Bromley aim the younger drinker. It can be hard to find a place to drink at the weekend once the first flush of youth is a distant memory. But I believe there are better options than this.

This converted bank provides a wonderful atmosphere with hanging chandeliers and original features. It is a Fullers pub serving up decent quality beer and wine. I would like to start with the positives. Bar staff where friendly and accommodating. Visited before to drink and will do again as the beers are always of a high quality. Now the food. We didn't order the pies and I think that this is the key seller in the pub. We ordered some of the social plates and they were rubbish. The kitchen didn't have what we ordered initially but that wasn't the end of the world. However the portion sizes wasn't what was expected and both the sausages and the chicken were undercooked; the sausages not nearly as bad as the chicken though. When we pointed this out the kind member of staff took them back to the kitchen. This is where it got worse. Apparently the chef tried the food we were served and said it was fine. He then proceeded to re cook the same food we were initially served until it was completely dry. It went from one extreme to the other. The chicken was also unseasoned and not of the quality you would expect. Both myself and my partner work in the industry and was surprised at the quality and approach from the kitchen to just cook through the food that was sent back. The chicken skewers would cook more evenly if they were of the same size and thickness but this is apparently lost of the kitchen staff. This and fact that the food really had no taste and I wouldn't recommend coming here for anything but drinks. Good service from the bar staff however.

I bisited this pub today with my wife and mother-in-law. My wife & I arrived first The m.i.l. was delayed. Our first impressions were of a traditional pub, with dark panelling, and comfortable seats. I ordered drinks. Iam not familiar with Fullers beers but I enjoyed my ESB. As my m.i.l. was further delayed I ordered 2 breakfast baps, 1 each of sausage & bacon. They were generously filled and delicious. For lunch the m.i.l. had a steak & ale pie; my wife had a chicken madras pie; & I had stargazy pie - filled with salmon & prawns. Fullers pubs apparently specilize in pies. We found them to be delicious. The bar staff were friendly, courteous and efficient. Our thanks to Bozenka, Dan, & Edward. One of the things that attracted us to the was that the manager responded positively to negative reviews posted here.We have nothing negative to say, and would happily recommend this pub to anyone, apart from the under 25s. Popped in for a drink with friends. Not sure what it was but the atmosphere was not great, it is a friendly enough place but just lacking vibrancy. In fairness they have a good range of beers and service is good. Sure it is a great place to go to but just not for me.

Always a brilliant pub but they truly pulled out all the stops for my partners themed birthday party at the weekend. Brilliant music, great atmosphere and the excellent team of staff really made it a fantastic (and hilariously memorable) night. Thanks team!

My husband, myself and our friends visited Bromley from Manchester last weekend. We spent most of our time in this beautiful pub lol... everyone was so welcoming - the staff are amazing and the locals so inviting.. Saturday night they had a live band on - they were fantastic from start to finish!Sunday morning we headed back to the pub for dinner before leaving for home - lovely sandwiches and chips!Honestly wish I lived closer to make it my local- can't wait for my next visit!

This is a nice old pub, just off the market square in Bromley. The food was very good pub fare and the staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining things like size of portions. We tried a pie, the ham and eggs, a smoked salmon sandwich and the fish and chips and the quality of all of them was excellent.

I've been in here a few times for drinks, and it's always a lovely experience. Although it's a large building with tall ceilings, it always has a cosy feel about it. There is a nice snug area in the back if you want to eat tucked away, and an outside area perfect for the summer months. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable and there is a wide range of drinks on offer. The wine is a little pricey, but no more really than other similar places. Perfect escape from the "theme" style pubs there are so many of these days.

We were extremely impressed with our whole Christmas experience at The Partridge. For a table of 18 we were very well looked after! Excellent table service and lovely food! Worth every penny! Will definitely be going back there again.

As a family we had not planned on going to this Pub, but because of unforeseen circumstances this is where we found ourselves.A smart traditional looking London style pub both inside and outside, well dressed in Christmas decorations. They quickly answered our query about allowing children in - they do so till 9.00pm. The pub had a number of screens/TVs showing a couple of different matches for that evening but the speakers were not overpowering in any way.A good and respectful clientele seem to use the Pub. The Bar Staff were excellent and very attentive. Drink prices seemed to be reasonable and quite a few Ales to choose from as well. Our group of 5 had food. All of this was very good, especially the Pies which seem to be a Pub speciality. All in all a good pub and a pleasing visit. We will be back next time we are using Bromley as a Town.

Following our shopping trip in Bromley on Sunday we called in the Partridge for a well earned drink. It was a very welcoming place and having seen the meals come out of the kitchen decided to eat here ourselves. We couldn't fault the food and the staff was very accommodating. Thank you and we well be calling again.

Visited today and had a sandwich from their menu which is quite restrictive. The bread was stale and contained only one sausage cut in half which was cold. Cost £5.95, value......? Paid additional £1.95 for chips, small handful, value......? I complained and told them the standard was very poor, they responded that they would pass my complaint on. We left 30 minutes later with no further comment from the management. They clearly didn't care. Last time I will ever frequent this establishment!

I was here last month and had a roast dinner it was very tasty and I would recommend going to anyone. You The only issues were for £15 for a roast the portion was very meagre. I understand that usually you never get massive amounts of meat but it is usually made up for by more veg etc but this was not the case here. We also had meals arrive at off times and ended up not eating together it wasn't massively busy so I don't know why we experienced the difficulties we did.

As winter comes in pub food becomes appealing and this pub's food is pretty good. A pint and a pie, it's tasty full of big chunks of beef, very filling, just what you need.

Came here on A Sunday with my family including my two little ones. We were made to feel very welcome. We all ordered the Sunday roasts and they were lovely although a little expensive especially for kids ones. Customer service was great the polish lady who served us is a credit to your pub and we will definitely visit again soon

Popped in for a few pints one evening. Decent Guinness fast, friendly service, good amount of seats. Can't fault it but equally nothing really memorable about it.

We have been to the restaurant on many occasions, but I have to say the service that we have received on the last three occasions from a young gentleman called Liam has been absolutely first class. He’s a young man with the courtesy and finesse that belies his years. He greets with a smile, is never pushy.. extremely attentive, welcoming and overall I would say an absolute asset to the Royal Oak. The food is also great there and if you want a reasonably priced meal with old-fashioned courtesy and a friendly, warm atmosphere then the Royal Oak your best bet. Don’t forget to ask for Liam.!

We booked the Christmas meal at the Chequers, we have always been fond of this place so thought we would make the trip to catch up with friends. The 3 courses were plentiful and such great value for money! The staff here are always polite, friendly and attentive. So glad we chose The Chequers as our place to have a Christmas meal. We always look forward to visiting here time and time again. Thank you to The Team
