Thought we would treat ourself to a spot of lunch (light bite to eat) whilst shopping in F&M’s. The Parlour was extremely disappointing. The staff seemed totally disinterested. We queued for 20 minutes whilst there were over 10 unused tables whilst the staff just stood at the counter. I would never come again to The Parlour. The food was lovely however but the total lack of customer service left a bitter taste.

I visited today to treat my daughter in law and young grandson. We were seated promptly by the concierge. After more than 15 minutes I asked a waiter if I could place our order. He did not reply but called over another waiter who took it with no grace whatsoever. The ice cream came quickly (delicious) but we waited for our drinks. At no time did the waiter smile or interact with us. He seemed to have disappeared when we wanted to pay the bill - one of his colleagues produced the bill and took payment, again not a word being spoken. Such a shame that the staff spoilt the occasion with their casual rudeness.

We popped here for drinks, we were seated straight away and our order taken quickly. Our drinks were very slow to arrive, quite a few people were complaining about the length of time they had waited. We also ordered the gluten free scones, when they arrived I double checked they were gluten free. However, the waitress was very quick to spot (before they even touched the table) they were not gluten free. She did apologise as she had not entered gluten free in the system when ordering. When the gluten free scones arrived, they were really delicious light and fluffy.

Had the worst experience at The Parlour. The website says that they close at 6pm on Sundays and accept guests and orders 1 hour and 45 mins before respectively. When we got there over an hour before, we were told they close at 5pm. When we showed the website and explained all of this to him (as we were travelling from overseas and were told the scones here were delicious) we were treated rudely and arrogantly and still denied service. Not sure why. Other experiences I had at Fortnum and Mason were lovely. One of your staff even went out of their way to inform me that my handbag was open!

We were in the area looking for drinks and snacks on a swelteringly hot day in London and decided to opt for Fortnum's to do it with a bit of style. When we first sat down in The Parlour, we had some initial doubts, since the decor and ambience wasn't really what we'd expect from Fortnum's. I think it's aimed at families. Worry not, however, the food was excellent and the service undoubtedly improved with time. In fact, Boom got better and better as time went by. I had the parlour tea: Portland crab fishcakes and a duo of scones. My wife had grilled vegetable focaccia with burrito and basil pesto. We both had different blends of black tea (with a pot of hot water). As an impromptu visit for drinks and snacks, we were both pleased with our choice. It was also a great opportunity to walk the wonderful F&M floors!

We visited with friends over from Japan and as a treat we came in to F&M to do some shopping and get a bite to eat. The Parlour appealed to the children in our group so we asked for a table and were sat down quickly. We then waited a remarkably long time to be greeted by a server who despite some language barriers between them and our guests were bordering on rude and snappy. If someone doesn’t understand what’s being said, saying it louder and faster isn’t going to help the situation. When I stepped in to restore a bit of dignity for our guests it was clearly a step too far for our server and he quickly hurried away and practically ignored us for the rest of our visit. This was exceptionally disappointing given our surroundings, I wasn’t expecting to have to make excuses for an impolite service. The food was good however the experience was marred by our server.

The taste and serve was completely bad. Ordered a cappuccino which just came very poor with plain coffee and lots of milk, looking like from a corner shop. Not the quality expected from Fortnum & Mason at all! Nevertheless, when I asked for a replacement, just been told that it would be the same. Came in this afternoon and was really disappointed. Waited about twenty minutes ( that’s fine) to be seated at the bar. Another 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. I believe this was the manager, who was running around. They were out of several items. Which, whatever. Sorbet was okay. My dining partner really liked the blueberry. I found that it tasted like preservatives. I would have expected more from F & M. Took another twenty minutes to flag down someone to get us our check so we could leave. Overall, disappointing experience.

Cute pastel coloured ice-cream parlour on the 1st floor of the iconic Fortnum & Mason. Extremely Instagrammable, but unfortunately the food did not live up to my expectations. I ordered a latte, which was nicely presented with a cute little ice-cream cone attached. The coffee was okay, but the restaurant is actually quite cold and within less than ten minutes my coffee was also cold. I had the scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast - which again were just okay, but I’ve had far better (and cheaper) elsewhere. Service though was superb, and staff were very attentive. Overall I felt quite disappointed and don’t feel I could (or would) recommend visiting - not unless you like cold and overpriced food.

The ice creams and milkshakes we had all tasted very fresh and were very tasty! I had the special, limited edition Easter Sundae which was very tasty and was decorated with 3 mini egg shells. You can taste the quality in the ice cream and would definitely return again in the future if in the area. The negative side to this review is that we experienced a very long wait. We must have been waiting for at least 30 minutes or more with only 4 people in front of us. When we asked the members of staff, they said that they were unable to say how long the wait will last, they have to wait for people already dining to finish so that the tables become clear again. The parlour is decorated nicely, our server was friendly and with nice quality ice cream, I would return in the future. Just brace yourself for a wait!

I personally feel that this nod to an American diner or ice cream parlour is a waste. It could feel a lot more special, instead it feels cheap and childish. A bit like a McDonald's. My table smells of faint cleaning products, there is no music playing, the lighting is banal, whereas of course the rest of Fortnum's is amazing. So this doesn't translate Fortnum for the masses, it's just boring. Not at all worth the 20 minute wait (I had agreed to meet someone there and couldn't change location, but would have).

We did a cream tea here because we didn't have the time for a full afternoon tea in the tea salon. The decor at The Parlour looks very dated and reminded us a bit of American diners. Service wasn't great either, it took a while for our order to be taken and then another long while before our tea was served and then some more time before our scones were served. The scones were served and the host immediately walked off so fast that we couldn't bring to his attention that he served one of us two clotted creams instead of a cream and a jam. The hostess who was cleaning the table next to ours had to ask a server at a different table to come over to us when we brought it to her attention so that took some time as well. For the premium price you pay for tea and scones at Fortnum & Mason I expected a bit more attentive service. The server who took our order and brought us our bill was very lovely though and gave me a great tea recommendation (ended up buying a tin downstairs).

The Parlour is situated on the 1st floor of F&M, and I managed to stop by recently for some coffee and scones. Whilst the pricing isn’t cheap, I found the pricing of the coffee to be very expensive, and unfortunately not that good. £5.50 for a flat white really is the pushing it, but the least I would expect for that price is amazing coffee, which it was not. The scones were good, and came out warm, which is a bonus. The price of the scones in comparison to the coffee was actually ok. The cafe itself is a little on the cold side, and I’m not sure if that’s to do with the ice cream refrigerator, but I had to keep my coat on whilst I had my coffee.

Food was fine, but the service was appalling. Our experience was ruined by rude staff. We were served by a lady waitress whose name starts with Ay… She was filled with bad attitude, almost to the point of scowling at the diners. When the food came, it was literally shoved onto the table. When we asked for help for a photo to be taken, we almost got an eye roll and the photos taken were not even in focus. It was a “I’ll help you but I’ll speed shoot the button but I’m not looking” attitude. The guy waiter on the other end wearing a suit was so pleasant and we noticed he was at least making effort to help guests take photos on that end. What was the 12.5% service charge for on top of the overpriced food? Surely you can do better F and M

There were no pleasantries from the waiter or waitresses. When we decided what to order some items on the menu had run out. I was gifted a tin of fortnum & mason tea many years ago and was on a mission to finally visit the place when we visited London. Tea was great, scones were small and meh, and the service was awful. When we were in line, i asked the hostess a question about the menu and she answered me like I didn’t understand English. It was very patronizing. Once we sat down a server came around for our orders which we asked for a few more minutes. The next wait was 15 minutes. When we asked for the bill, the server brought it in an envelope and presented the point of sale terminal in front of me. I went ahead and tapped THEN looked at the bill, seeing a 12.5% service charge. I asked what this was for as the restaurants from previous days didn’t have this, and he said “It’s part of the bill” and walked away. I would not have tipped to begin with considering the experience. Saying it’s part of the bill is like forcing the customers hand. Just up your prices if it’s “part of the bill”. Buyer beware!!

We had the homemade scones and guanduja chocolate cake.. both were excellent. Staff was also really friendly and helpful.

It’s a tea store but they only serve two kinds of iced tea. I asked for a brewed tea just over ice, and apparently it was « not possible ». Service is very rude. Nothing about this cafe fits into the Fortnum and Mason brand.

This was the most expensive and at the same time most underwhelming banana split I ever had. The only outstanding was the banana. Icecream melted immediatly and tasted like a cheap soft ice... Cappuccino was good though...

Today at 2.40 I was sitting at my table at the parlor at fortnum and mason absentmindedly looking ahead suddenly a waitress came to me shouting why are you looking at me and repeatedly shouting at me . I was stunned to say the least. I called the manager and told him about her but she didn't come to apologize nor was she reprimanded. Very rude waitress.

Just as you think the Parlour can't get any better, they bring out the Fantastically Festive Sundae! The best ice cream EVER!

Amazing Service and lovley tea and GF scone. Unfortunatley a little crowded and noisy. GF wise, scone & bread were available. A little expensive, but not bad considering central london.

Fortnum and Mason has a history and a reputation which is now exploited for financial gain end of . An endless stream of tourists buy up a load of tat for extortionate prices mostly made far far away from the UK including their confectionary. I am astounded by the prices in the Parlour restaurant and its a very ordinary type cafe - nothing special in decor, plastic type tables etc. An ice cream sundae will set you back £16 and its not very big. A mediocre cup of tea is £6 and a tiny pice of cake is between £7-£11. This is rip off city and it stinks . Im sorry the place is so popular as it deserves to be sidelined and the staff should be paid a LOT for putting up with it. NEVER AGAIN

We had reservations for The Experience high tea at Diamond Jubilee at 330 pm, but had just had lunch at Bancone Covent Garden at 130 pm. So we decided to cancel that but to have a lighter meal at the Parlour. There was a queue, but we managed to snag a table after 15 minutes. A shutout to the elderly female staff who wore a face mask. She was lovely and friendly when taking our order and serving the dishes. Anyway, we had the avocado sourdough with chilli, with duo of scones and a pot of Queen Anne tea. We also had a rose and pistachio cake, which was delish if a little sweet. The disappointment was the iced peach tea - for the price of 4.96 GBP, it was a miserable portion. The food was nice, otherwise.

It was a huge dissapointment! One of the server has acted ver rude, he was obviously having a rush for close the shop immediatly. He didn’t gave us a time to look at the menu for order. We leaved without order anything. The staff should be trained F&M standarts!

We had talked about going to F&M to have a knickerbocker glory (supposedly the home of the glory) for sometime, our son was very excited. Thankfully we booked on the Saturday we went and didn't have to queue. I think it is fair to say that F&M is a luxury brand and therefore I was expecting a 'nice' experience, it would be expensive but we would feel spoilt. The Parlour is not luxurious, it has a cheap feel to it, from paper menus, as many tables as possible packed in, canteen acoustics, cheap glasses.... imagine M&S cafe... arguably the M&S would be better as it would be more than half the price. We waited a long time to be served, we weren't sure if we needed to order at the counter. The staff were clearly working hard and rushed off there feet, they were trying their best (I thought I had is take a couple of tables out, make it a better experience for guests and staff!). However the staff were polite and our waiter took the time to take our photo. We ordered Knickerbocker Glorys and a banana split. The banana split looked and tasted good. The knickerbocker glories were disappointing.... small amount of merginue on the top, 1 singular Raspberry, no pineapple and the ice cream was more like a Sorbet.... nothing like the picture on the website..... think what you could get in the Wimpy in the 90's was better. So the bill.... 3 x knickerbocker glories 1 x banana split 4 x lemonades 1 x bottle water Service charge = £95 This is what I thought it would cost and if the experience had been good it would represent value for money... but sadly I could have done better at home.

Very poor service, took 20 minutes after seating to get a waiters attention to order. Ordered savoury dishes and scones, scones came out first, then savoury.. then finally drinks ! Plates cleared, not attempt to check if we wanted more. Highlight was the manager taking time with us to discuss the issue. This was a treat for visitors to London...severe letdown

When I visit London, a trip to a quintessential British icon is always on the cards. ‘The Parlour’ at Fortnum’s is always a great experience, even if the prices may be a little on the high side. The ‘Parlour Tea’ (Set menu) offers a good selection of items from the main menu, with my choice on this occasion, the Elegant Rarebit and a duo of scones (plus an iced coffee). The food hit the proverbial spot, tasty, fresh and very well presented. I would always recommend a visit here and while your at it, take a look around the lower floors for lots of other food inspiration.

It’s a clear disappointment on the savoury dish side. Pie for 16£ and this dry. It went down with a glass of champagne.

Pret is always my go-to for semi-healthy and fresh lunch on the go when I am in the city. Their coffee is good, and I love their hot meatball wrap.
