McDonalds - Oxford Street in City of London, Westminster

After leaving a gym class at 1Rebel in the same building, I sat in the chairs adjacent to the Market Halls lifts. As soon as I sat down, the security guard approached me and told that I would be banned from eating in this (apparently) communal area, where no one else was sitting. I was then informed that I would only be allowed to sit in the seats for five minutes. The guard stood next to me and watched me for this time before quite literally kicking me out for sitting in an available seat. It was rude, hostile and aggressive. I have no idea why these seats are placed at the entrance if people are not allowed to use them. Awful experience at this venue!

Conveniently located a block off Oxford Street, not far from Oxford Circus tube station. Prices are as you would expect for central London although we all enjoyed our food. We visited Salt Shed for the burgers (classic and bacon) - tasty, although perhaps on the small serving side, and Gopals for Roti Canai (quite good roti, curry sauce ok) and the thosai (very good). No problems getting a seat for Thursday lunchtime in February, and no queues for the loo!

Over we did have a nice time and the food was really good, there was a quiz running (we attended on Tuesday night), which was fun, but could've been advertised better as it was quite unclear how to participate. However, unfortunately the evening was let down significantly, due to the volume of music (at the far end of the hall). Which led to conversion being very difficult while we ate our meal. This was especially frustrating as we pre-booked the table for dinner in the peak dining period (7pm table). If the music volume was reduced by 30-40% so that conversation was readily audible, then our meal and experience would've been significantly improved and would have been pretty excellent.

Cool place but pretty dirty. I had tacos from the taco stall and they were amazing! The best tacos I’ve ever had.

I hosted a 30th birthday party in the cavendish room on Saturday and it was amazing! The team were super helpful with planning and bar staff were very friendly on the night. We ordered food from various vendors and everything was amazing. I would highly recommend hosting a party at the private hire room at Market Halls!

I went here for a quick dinner on a Friday evening. Took me by surprise. It’s like the one in Canary Wharf but had a much better selection of eateries. We went for the Salt Shed which is a steak place as we had heard about it from a friend. The concept is cool, there’s a number of eating places under one room with communal seating dotted around and two or maybe three bars where you can get alcohol should you want it. This place works better than somewhere like Brixton pop where there is only one bar. It was busy but no queues. Great atmosphere there I think there was a mix of people who work nearby and had just finished work to groups of friends having a night out. You could stay there a short or long time in my opinion. Great selection of food from sushi to tacos to steak. Felt less like street food and more like mini kitchens so the quality felt slightly higher. The food we had was amazing. We went to the Salt Shed. I had a sweet burger and it was sensational. The meat was delicious but the toppings and overall flavour was awesome! It was dripping and I couldn’t get there smell off my fingers until I had washed my hands three times but I didn’t care as the faint smell of it took me back to how delicious it was. The bavette steak was tasty and well seasoned. Also in the area itself there’s plenty of seating and the toilets were well maintained. I would 100% go back to the market halls and would definitely have the burger from Salt Shed again. Will keep an eye out as I think they have other restaurants around the uk too.

good atmosphere and lots to chose from

Unfortunately since opening a few years ago this place has really gone downhill. I visited in January 25 for lunch and had various dishes - they were ok but honestly not anything special. The whole place is a bit greasy, smell and dirty. I just didn’t enjoy it and won’t go back.

Market Halls is a great spot for lunch and food is generally good with the exception of Krapow. I had a chicken pad thai with barely any chicken and it tasted really sour. Couldn't eat it. Would definitely not go back.

Nice food hall. Had a few different food sellers although not as many as you’d think. The bar is good you can order online and they bring it to your table or at the bar, But who wants to walk right? The bar is good the food is good they have various events on different nights which is nice and I have been here a few times. Can’t complain

Love the set up of this place as a food hall, there are a range of different cuisines to try so will definitely be coming back. We ate at Gopal’s corner. Which is a Malaysian/ South Indian style cuisines and is all halal. We tried both the chicken and beef rendang roti canai and really enjoyed it. It wasn’t too spicy, the curry had great seasoning, the chicken was soft and the beef was juicy. I really enjoyed the cold tea tarik (pulled tea). The star of the show was the sweet roti, with brown sugar between the flakey pastry and condensed milk on top.

Daryll was great. Got us a great table and looked after us all night. Will defo be back.

Great variety of food, super chilled atmosphere.

We went on a Saturday afternoon, and thought it was going to be too busy but it was actually ok! Found a table easily and there were so many foods to try. We ordered from the burger place, sorry forgot what it’s called, but we both had a cheeseburger with pastrami and was delicious. Not too expensive considering and the cocktails are lovely too! Giving the atmosphere 4 stars as it was too loud for me in there, but the food and drinks makes up for it.

Visited market halls on Oxford street while on a lunch break at work. Friday midday, the place wasn’t too busy. There’s plenty of food options to choose from, I opted for a stall called Le Bab, and got the butter chicken kebab. It was as succulent and juicy as it looked! Absolutely amazing, I’ll be visiting again.

The atmosphere is amazing, I often come here to chill. You get a variety of options to choose from as there are many places to eat from. The bar however, is on the costly side but the atmosphere makes up for it.

Tried pork fried rice today at Krapow- as Thai food lover I cannot even give 1/10. Meat was not cooked properly, and food was tasteless. Avoid Krapow if you are there as waste of money !!!

It's good. The group was happy with the food, but remember this is central London -- cheap it is not! Service is OK, friendly and nice staff, but nothing out of the ordinary. A bit loud, but there was no problem finding a table for 4.

I stopped here to buy food from the Apoy restaurant, but it turns out the restaurant has closed permanently, I got the information as of 01.02.2025. Because it was closed, we decided to look for another restaurant that hoped to be Asian, especially because we both liked the pork menu. We decided to buy food at the Krapow restaurant and the taste of the menu suited my wife and I's tastes, the service was friendly and fast, the atmosphere was also comfortable

I paid £4.25 for a lemonade at the bar, which came out of the soda gun (no fancy bottles or anything). Unbelievable rip off.

I always have a good time at the Market Halls. I stick to the grill vendor and I always enjoy the food. The Christmas non alcholic slushy was yummy. 👍🏿

It was my second visit with a group of about 20 people. I was not happy with the high table we had been allocated and once again, Timo did his utmost to move us. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon. Just one little comment on the service as it would have been good for the table to get cleared when we finished eating. I'm planning to hold more gatherings there thanks to the absolutely lovely team.

Great spot to catch up with friends. Tried DF Tacos and Whipped—both were great. Karthik asked for a review, and he definitely deserves a shoutout for keeping the drinks amazing, the conversation flowing, and the smile constant!

Karthik made the drinks perfectly. He recommended a twist on the classic espresso martini—white chocolate espresso martini. It was a must-try and exactly what we needed!

The bar looked great with plenty of beer options, including Corona on tap, which was a nice surprise and tasted fresh with the lime on the side. Karthik helped me pick a beer when I was disappointed they didn’t have Guinness. He offered a taster of the stout, and it was surprisingly similar. That kind of customer service makes you want to return!

Quite lovely place, very vibrant. Lots of food options and drink options. Order drinks to the table via QR code, but the food needs to be ordered by individual kiosks. Can get busy, especially holiday times and lunch times. You bring your own food at well.

It was great experience at the market hall especially with Rushil who served pornstar martini...exceptional service by Rushil and food was delicious at Lebab...surely this is one of the favourite places now

They have some good food options and the book room is great for events I came to a Jay z kayne and Rihanna paint and sip and it didn’t disappoint. The drinks were great strong and the variety of vendors was more than enough.

Visited for a team Christmas outing, and it’s perfect for hosting a big group. Amazing vibe here! Bartenders Karthik and Fin were hilarious and kept the energy going all night!

Had dinner with friends here on Monday night. There were two things affecting the ambience quite badly. One was what at first appeared to be a spilt drink but which later seemed to be some kind of water leak. Staff were constantly mopping at the floor and the area became effectively unpassable. Second was an awful buzzing noise at a very high frequency. Might have been coming out of the speaker system, it wasn't entirely clear. We asked two members of staff about it, one didn't seem to know what we were talking about, the other said it had been going on for days. I think the younger you were, the more you were affected by it, like the way they sometimes play noise at high frequency to deter youths from hanging around town centres. Anyway not the most relaxing or enjoyable experience. On top of that, the music was also too loud and pretty unpleasant. The staff were pleasant enough but the food was somewhat disappointing too.

Market halls is a good place to go to on weekend make sure u pre book tables and it gets busy during the evening the ambience was good for catching up with friends also the bartenders there were friendly especially Karthick I was about to get couple of pints then he saw us as a group and suggested we get the pitcher and I am glad we did saved us a bit of money and he was star didn't even take a tip and the service was on point 😊. Would recommended to friends

First time here after seeing it on Masterchef Professionals. Food was excellent, ate tacos and roti dishes which were very tasty and also a pad Thai. Highly recommend.

An excellent trip to Market halls for our company Christmas party. The Christmas party packages are well organised and market halls were communicative throughout the booking process. We really enjoyed our evening, the service was very good (never a long wait at the bar) and the food excellent.

Quick and easy place to get food near Oxford Street station

I went there with my boyfriend today and we had a great time. Rushil was very helpful at the bar and he poured us perfect pints which elevated the experience. Will deffo come again!

The place is really good, it has many options to eat and drink but one thing which was outstanding was Rushil's service at the bar. He seemed like a very good chap and I wish him all the best.

Went there on a very busy Saturday,me and my mates were served by this charming young lady named Aparna , my mates are not a fan of Bitters , Aparna had a great knowledge of the drinks and explained about the Camden IPA. We all tried it and enjoyed the drinks and food thoroughly , each time we needed something the lady came by very politely, absolute eye for detail in this chaotic environment where other staffs barely looked at our table, someone give this lady a raise !

I had high expectations for the Market Halls on Oxford Street, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. The main issue was the lack of seating—it's frustrating to wander around with your food, searching for a place to sit. The food selection, while diverse, felt overpriced for the portion sizes, and the quality didn’t match the cost and nothing memorable. The atmosphere felt a bit chaotic rather than inviting, and the staff, while doing their best in a busy environment, didn’t seem particularly attentive. Overall, it’s not a place I’d rush back to. If you’re in the area and desperate for food, it’s worth a quick visit, but don’t expect a relaxing or exceptional dining experience.

Got to say, for a Xmas event, this was one of the best I've had in 10 years in central London. Food was very good, fresh, tasty, and spicy if you like that! Good selection of beer also. Would definitely go again

The process for ordering drinks was an absolute joke, i had to input far too many details just to get a drink and trying to get on the wifi. Ordering food was fine and some nice options. Recommend the tacos.

Group of 20. We had to wait a long time to be acknowledged on arrival and shown to our reserved area. Getting served at the bar was painfully slow the whole time we were there. Apart from that was a great venue and great set up for a large group. Having the flexibility to order individually when Roy like and pay individually was a really good dynamic and worked well for our group.

Market hall with 2 pubs, 1 desert stall and a number of international cuisine - Malaysian, Thai and Filipino. The Filipino Adobo (soy chicken) was yummy. Carollers were spreading christmas festive cheer. Very nice atmosphere

Absolute gem in the heart of central London. The staff were really lovely and reserved a lovely table for me. There was so much choice and the food was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to return!

Our first time. We arrived at 11:55, just before opening time. So we had a chance to look around, wondering which set of chefs to trust with our needs after 3 hours of walking and Christmas shopping! Gopal’s Corner did not disappoint. Great food and the Roti was pure magic - both watching it being cooked then devouring it. And ordering another!

The food was equally impressive, with Kyra Pow delivering exceptional dishes. I had the Khao Soi with tofu, a flavorful and satisfying Thai noodle soup, accompanied by perfectly cooked fried rice. At the Salt Shed, the steak was of excellent quality, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. To round out the visit, the Market Bar offered fantastic drinks, with the frozen options being particularly refreshing and expertly crafted. Overall, the combination of great food, a lively setting, and Gautham’s stellar service made this a highlight of my trip to London. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!

The choice of vendors was amazing and the food we had was really lovely. The bar service however, was slow. We tried to use the QR code on the table but the basket wouldn’t load at checkout so I ended up going to the bar. No one else was there and it took a while for my drinks to be served. It would have been nice for there to have been some music playing to help with the atmosphere. All the staff members we encountered were friendly.

Quiet Sunday evening and staff weren’t at their best. Bar staff didn’t seem to know what seasonal beer was until we could show them a menu and at some food stalls staff were stood idle and in one case ignoring you until you shouted to them. Not the freshest of ingredients either in some places with one serving very soft tomatoes probably sat cut for days. Probably best to avoid it when quiet as might be more aimed for delivery

Yesterday It was my first time visiting this place. Calm environment, All Food are amazing a massive space. All the staffs in that place are so good. Especially a floor staff Diagnous was too kind and helped us until we leave he was always smiling and treating good to the customers. Simply the place is amazing highly recommend

The food and atmosphere here are fantastic! The service, especially from Natene, was outstanding, she recommended the Gopals, which were absolutely delicious. There’s plenty of seating and bench space, making it perfect for larger groups to enjoy together. Highly recommend!

20ft Fried Chicken. Not worth the money. Don’t visit, The went to the chicken place and I ordered the 20ft chicken burger. There was very little chicken and so much batter and very oily. Won’t visit again.
