The Park Cafe in Poole

Popped in on dog walk, purchased two 99’s and nearly died when they asked for £7!! Been coming here for years and can’t believe what they now charging! Wasn’t even the peak summer season !

Great little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. It's next to the kids park and splash pool, small beach and is a 15 min walk into Poole - parking onsite is very cheap too. Offers breakfast, lunch and small bites - we just had breakfast so unsure what the rest of the menu is like. Great coffee, friendly service, and the cakes are delicious, you get a great slab for the price (carrot cake a must). We had the full breakfast bap which was nice, but it did cost £7. In my opinion, a bit steep for 1 average quality sausage, 1 bit of bacon, and egg and hash brown. You can grab a full English for that - would return though.

I decided to take my mum here today for a first visit for lunch. It was busy however we did find a table inside I went to order our lunch, and it seemed a little pricey for Hamworthy. The lady said that they were not cooking food anymore due to the cook in the kitchen feeling overwhelmed !!! Surely they should have more staff . My mum and I left feeling quite cross, so don't bother visiting. There are other much nicer cheaper eateries on Poole Quay

Lovely little cafe, reasonable prices, was raining but still got to sit outside a cover canope over outside tables, staff were very friendly and dogs were very welcome

Shambles of a cafe. We visited just for chips but waited half an hour before being told our ‘ticket had been lost’ 5 minutes later the chips come out. We had ketchup and mayonnaise squirted from a dodgy looking container. Needless to say both of my children have been I’ll in the night and that’s the only thing they had to eat in common. Hygiene appalling and service not much better. Wont be returning.

But over the last year have seen a sharp drop off. The staff are delightful and do the best they can, but the owner should be ashamed of how this place now functions. The recent refurb is a total disaster in terms of layout.... Apparantly he designed it. I can't count the number of times I've seen customers complain in terms of service and food. I remember a few months ago a couple sent back a cheese and onion sandwich which they found inedible and cost £5, it's not rocket science. I repeat the staff are lovely but have not been supported at all by the owner. Looks like making money is the priority now and so the food is base quality and staff are run ragged. Such a shame.

Contaminated with chicken pieces, albeit small pieces.None the less, may I politely suggest better hygiene practices please. As a vegetarian who does not eat meat, I threw the toast away. A shame, as love having coffee here. I did not go back and return the toast as it is a small cafe, it was very busy, and I hate to embarrass people or staff. I am quite sure it was unintentional. It has put me off eating here though. Please also advise staff that cups used for customer drinks, should be handled by the handle, keep fingers out of the inside of a cup, that's my pet hate. Having staff finger prints over the inside of my cup before making my drink. Esp. As staff also handle money.

Decided to paddle board over from lake pier for refreshment. Latte £2.95 was somewhat overpriced and disappointing. Tasted like it was made with powdered milk. Understaffed, one lady manning the counter and making the drinks. Sadly couldn’t drink my latte. Think next visit I will buy an ice cream.

Arrived at 1pm, 3 adults and two children from different families. Long queue, but eventually reached ordering point and ordered and paid for meals for 3 of us. After the 3 of us had ordered and paid we were told the kitchen was now closed and the food would be about 45 minutes. We walked away back to our table to await our meals. The other adult and child were behind us in the queue and wished to pay separately. When they tried to order they were refused, despite telling the cafe that we were all in the same party and on the same table. The adult and child then had little option but to go elsewhere for lunch. Our meals arrived about 35 minutes later. The food was actually good. Needless to say we will not return as a party again.

What a gem of a place this is. Delicious bacon sandwiches and coffees. Others in our party had ice-creams. This cafe also sells beach toys. Social distancing did not spoil the enjoyment as there were tables available to sit at whilst eating. The toilets were very clean.

We’re always looking for new places to explore and what a beautiful park and lovely place to eat we found. Food was great, not expensive, well cooked and good portions. Lyndsay served us too, works very hard with a big smile on her face, credit to the place. Will be coming back soon.

After having a morning of bad luck I pop in for some chill time and the person who served me (Lyndsey) was so friendly , welcoming and definitely made me feel better about my day, will definitely return thanks

Food was very generous in size and nicely done. We had jacket potatoes, burgers, sausage rolls etc. Good value for money. Service a bit sketchy.

Great food and lovely place to visit the park is exceptional childrens paddling pool, beach for sun bathing, safe for swimming in the sea.childrens play area, tennis court FOC, just a great place to visit.

Just room for 17 guests, a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. Wines, beers, soft drinks available and hot drinks too. Not open every night. Food was good and very nicely presented.

Sometimes you just cannot predict how your meal and service will be. We needed the toilet so went in the park cafe to use their facilities. Once inside I suggested we stayed and had something to eat. I had a breakfast and the wife had a salad. Both meals had generous portions. Food was cooked well and mine was piping hot. The tea was hot too and the prices very reasonable. Staff are great , welcoming and joyful. Great spot..

We visited today whilst visiting the park with our children. We popped into the cafe late breakfast time. The food was great quality and exactly as asked. Good portions! A great little place to pop into for a drink or snack whilst at the park. Would recommend. Thank you.

Visited for a cuppa and ended up having a late lunch. The staff are very friendly and the cafe is very clean. You can sit inside as well as outside. Overall I am very impressed with this cafe. The menu is varied with breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, whitebait, calamari, ice creams, teas, coffees, etc... and you can even enjoy a cold beer, wine and prosecco!!.. Such a lovely find in the area.

Adjacent to the childrens' park this cafe does a good range of food at decent prices. If you visit the park then have some refreshment here.

great little cafe situated by the kiddy playground in the park , great cafe food and drinks , just the ticket on the hot summer days , right next door to the Harbour challenge activity centre and the cafe does a great bit to eat once you've finished sailing .The park it self is large and ideal to take the kids to knowing you have a place to buy ice cream ,drinks and light lunch from , the food is amazing

Great little cafe near the park and the beach. Friendly staff selling a large selection of drinks (including alcohol) and snacks.

Always a very warm welcome lovely coffee and freshly cooked food. In the summer months the Friday night social events are good fun occasions.

Great cafe lovely food very good coffee and excellent service and superb views of the Purbecks and the Parks facilities are fantastic Sea,Beach,Grass,Paddling Pool,childrens playground,Tennis, plus lots more. Best park in Poole.

Staff here are always very polite and helpful. Clean and tidy environment and dog friendly, always busy, prices very reasonable.. food always served hot..

Always look forward to our cup of coffee during our dog walk, particularly in the winter, although understandably, the opening hours are more restricted. The staff are always welcoming, and that includes our dogs!. We definitely will be back!

Having a lovely extended family day out and needed somewhere that could accommodate 6 kids and 5 adults and a dog! - Park cafe was just perfect - hot and cold food , great kids menu and beer and wine for the adults- great views of the park, paddling pool and the sea - staff were lovely- flat out as it was very busy but our food still arrived swiftly and was very tasty - we came back twice in a week as on holiday in Poole - a great find!

Rainy afternoon but still busy. Great service and although nearing closing time we were still most welcome. Sneaky glass of wine most welcome.

Phoebe was outstanding and managed our feelings and expectations better than any front of house hospitalitarian we have ever had the pleasure to meet. The food melted on the tongue like a holy sacrament, praise be to the Park Cafe. We will definitely be back for more sandwiches and Doombars.

We had heard about the cafe from friends and decided to give it a try. Theres seating outside but we plumped for inside as it was a bit chilly and windy for a senior citizen. Its quite compact inside but there is space for about 20 inside. We had no trouble finding a suitable seat but I guess in the months to come it will become busy. The menu was impressive serving a range of different items from breakfasts, burgers, fish and lighter bites. There is also a kids menu. I ordered a park cafe breakfast(at 2.30pm) my dad had fish fingers and chips as he wasnt very hungry. We also had two nice mugs of tea. Theres plenty on offer and as far as I could see they can cater for most tastes. The food arrived all cooked fresh and well presented, and hot. My dad wasnt able to finish his as he got full no reflection on the food. I finished my breakfast which was quite big but tasted fine. We would certainly recommend this place. Its off the beaten track a little in Hamworthy Park, the view is lovely but once its warmer I can imagine it will be packed. Its a long way to push a wheelchair from the car park, thats no fault of the cafe just the local councils parking arrangements. Overall we were impressed and will go back in the future. The staff are friendly and were busy most of the time. Its clean and toilets are close by.

Really great Cafe. Coffee excellent, Food very good, Staff really friendly and professional. Lovely place to visit enjoy the park and have a walk by the sea as well.

A great little cafe in the park, which is a good place to stop for coffee whilst walking the dog. Staff were friendly, cafe was clean, and prices were very reasonable.

Went to the cafe tonight as they were doing a special evening meal. I had fish and chips and a knickerbocker glory for desert. My wife had fish and chips followed by waffle and ice cream. It was fantastic. Excellent value for money as it was a special deal. Service was very friendly and professional.

Slightly expensive but really nice cafe, dogs are welcome which is great. The park gets busy in summer so expect queues, i have eaten here a few times and its always freshly cooked.

Lovely place. Spotlessly clean. Great choice of food available. Reasonably priced, friendly staff. 10 out of 10.

We knew that the park cafe used to serve breakfast and so called by to check it out again as we were in Poole.

I visited the Cafe with my grandchildren last weekend. We were served quickly and our food arrived shortly after. All cooked fresh to order and you can eat in, or take away. The coffee is great and piping hot. Portion sizes are generous and the children couldn't wait to tuck in!
