S I G Lamb was amazing! Definitely recommend Everyone had a good time. I can’t wait to go back. Oh, and the workers are really nice. Made our evening.

The service was painfully slow. We kept seeing the manager the guy with glasses eating food at the bar. Then bending down and drinking Lemonade and drinking it from the bottle. The same bottle he serves drinks up to the customers. At this point we wanted to leave but didn’t have the choice as we was awaiting our food that took over an hour to arrive despite being only one of two tables in the restaurant. I ordered a Korma and didn’t get a Korma but I didn’t complain because I was so hungry and I’d knew it would take 1+ hours to turn up. My son had a chicken curry.. which gave him the worst bellyache (in the restaurant) probably because of their lack of hygiene (clearly demonstrated by the manager) we couldn’t wait to leave. I remember how good & busy this place used to be. Then it changed hands and has come completely down hill. What a shame! The only good thing about our meal was the young polite waiter :) - Avoid if you don’t want to be disappointed

We had a lovely meal in there tonight. Food was really tasty , food cooked well and lots of flavour, service and friendly ness of staff was great. If you’ve not been, you’re missing a real little Gem here !

The food quantity was good but it’s not authentic North Indian as both paneer and chicken ordered were sweet, chole were also not at all north Indian taste, rice was good but again not proper Indian flavour.

My food came over an hour late and when it arrived it was the WRONG food. When they re delivered the food, it was bland, watery and FOUL. I knew I shouldn’t have ordered from here. Man on the phone was rude. So many 1 star reviews is never good. STAY AWAY. Waste of £18

its about half a mile away from Bromley Tandoori and well worth the extra walk. If you like your nann bread burnt and your children run over then go to bromley Tandoori. if you like decent indian cuisine which you know has not been spat in then go to the popadom

Been a regular customer for many of years however we waited just under 3 hours for a delivery, was promised many of time by the management that it was only a few minutes away, 50 minutes later the food arrived, appalling service would definitely not recommend ordering for delivery as they cannot cope. Food was cold, would have been better with a microwave meal.

Whilst I appreciate these are difficult times, if you advertise a service you need to provide it. We have been regular customers of The Papadam and have a delivery about once a week. Whilst in ‘lockdown’ we were delighted to see that Papadam were still delivering and decided we would treat ourselves to our favourite takeaway, Chicken Lucknow. We ordered and accepted that it took a little longer than normal to arrive (over an hour) what we couldn’t accept was the food they delivered. It looked nothing like our normal dish, was cold, congealed and smelt horrible. Needless to say we did not risk tasting it. We phoned the restaurant and asked them to call to discuss. No response. We messaged and again asked them to contact us. Again no response. So disappointed in not only the food but also the complete lack of customer service. Perhaps there is a good reason they have a one star rating from the Food Standards Agency. Make you own choice, but we won’t be using them again.

We have used this restaurant for a long time but it has recently undergone a change of ownership and merged with a local takeaway provider. Despite early orders and a delivery time we have had to call to chase orders. On three occasions breads have not been delivered and recently rice was not delivered. When we have called pointing out the error the restaurant has said it will send the missing item(s) which have never arrived. I have also had to go to the restaurant to collect an order when it was over 40 mins late only to find they had lost the order. This is a great shame as the food is good, although the standard is starting to slip.

We visited last evening and the food was excellent as was the service. Best we have had in a long time. Will definitely be returning there soon.

I can only think that previous bad reviews were under different ownership? We tried this place after a new brochure came through our letter box with a £10 voucher. Since then we have had it twice again and we find the food consistently good. Lots of good choices and good servings every time. Due to its location we always find the food comes piping hot which is a bonus compared to some delivery’s. So far it’s the best curry we have had in the area since we moved to Bromley. Haven’t tried eating in yet.

Visited here on a weekday evening. The choice of food was good, typical Indian restaurant menu. The food was freshly cooked and nicely spiced. Staff were friendly and service was good. We were the only couple in the restaurant till about 8.00. The decor is modern, light and clean. I look forward to visiting again, later in the evening to experience more ambience and atmosphere hopefully.

We went the other night and the food was lovely staff very pleasant as well, the night we went, midweek, the restaurant wasn’t busy, but lots of the takeaways going out the door, the food must be popular. Will definitely go back

Visited the restaurant 11/1 for a family meal. Have to say that we had a great time. The food and service were excellent. The Papadom has a very interesting menu with a lot of dishes that I hadn't seen before along with the traditional ones too.

Really enjoyed restaurant, lots of dishes I hadn't seen before and advice given was great. Great food , great atmosphere. Hope it doesn't become too popular as it was brilliant, only about six tables. Would recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food.

Best Indian food around, real quality food. Not the normal fayre you get from Indian restaurants. As well as the normal dishes offered the restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes for Indian food lovers. If you don’t like hot spicy there are other dishes apart from a korma you can have.

Great food, great staff, great times- would definitely recommend. Whenever we come here we have a great time and the staff are so accommodating.

We've had numerous takeaways and visited the restaurant several times over the years and always found both the food and service to be consistently good. Really surprised to read some of the other reviews... best advice is to try it for yourself.

Awful, unfriendly, unreliable. Avoid this place. Shame, used to be good and save your money for a better quality service...which would not be hard

When we arrived, unfriendly unwelcoming waiter showed us to the round table in the bay window. Then another member of staff moved us saying that table was already booked (it remained unoccupied the whole time we were there). Papadoms served were delicious, with dips, no fault with those, and two of our three party were happy with our main courses, but the third ordered a lamb dish, which came as a completely different dish with chicken, and the waiter tried to convince her it was lamb! They changed it eventually. Drinks order was wrong too, like he did not listen to us. When we got the bill, which we asked for a little early as we were getting a taxi to the theatre and wanted to be ready to leave, they hovered and checked with us several times for payment, and actually lifted the cloths on the table well before we actually vacated. The service was very bad indeed and I could not recommend going there based on our experience

The food was okay but nothing special, passanda was the stand out meal. Staff are helpful but it was quiet when I went and I felt like I was being watched too closely.

Tuesday has a £15 meal of papadum, starter, main, side, rice or nan which is a pretty good deal. Shashlik chicken was flavoursome and tender. Good value

Tried out this restaurant seeing as me and my family live quite close by. As we walked in we were greeted with friendly faces, meal with the family was fantastic, no complaints. I am a big curry fan so I know a good curry when I try one and this place didn't disappoint at all. Wife and kids loved it and will be coming back soon. Thanks guys!

Early Xmas eve meal . Restaurant was cold. The food arrived quickly but table too small for the numerous side dishes. Staff reluctant to put another table on the side ( restaurant not busy then ) staff disinterested . 3 Xmas crackers for 6 people ... when we requested one each - it was like asking for the moon ! Needless to say we did not get anymore crackers. Service charge added to the bill - although it clearly stated “ no service charge added “. It was removed - well the words on bill were then scratched out !

Don't be fooled by the modern decor. The place serves very, very average food. The staff couldn't care less most of the time (except when it gets near to leaving a tip time) We have three times recently order take aways' only to get home and find there was an item missing. I guess these missing dishes add up to a tidy profit by the end of the year. If you like old-fashioned, bland Indian food, served by indifferent staff, then this is the place for you. For the same, reasonably expensive, prices, there is much better in Bromley.

This restaurant did not make some of the staples dishes which we always have in an Indian restaurant (like Dal makhani). Therefore we asked for recommendations and ordered some of their "best" dishes. The food we ordered was way too hot although we did say we like it spicy but not hot. My little girl's korma was way too sweet, you could not taste anything else.

Decidimos probar este restaurante de nuevo tras una separación. Pedimos un pescado de llevar jalfrezi, arroz y verduras korma, un par de guarniciones. La salsa jalfrezi era insípida y muy grasienta y el pescado estaba poco hecha. Aunque son muy locales que no te molestará de nuevo.

Calidad pobre pollo de nuevo en comida para llevar. Muy muy decepcionante, ya que era el único tipo de carne ordenados. Pollo era difícil, precocida y fue todo mini filetes en la salsa de encogimiento. Porción muy generosa, pero desaprovechado ya que no podía ser comido. Hemos comido en el restaurante un par de veces y ha sido buena, pero para llevar siempre decepcionante. Es una pena porque pensamos que habíamos encontrado una muy buena.

Fue una cena para dos en una noche de viernes. Nos sentamos abajo en lo que puede, y puede ser descrita como un ambiente acogedor. Nos recibieron muy bien por el personal y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. La comida y el vino era magnífico! No es el menú indio estándar. El personal era eficiente y amable. Un ambiente encantador y un precio razonable. Sin duda volveremos!

Fuimos el día de San Valentín. La comida llegó muy tarde. Sirve la principal comida antes de los entrantes. Finalmente llegó el primer plato, cuando olvidaron un entrante y tienen que recordar. Wed para factura por un largo tiempo y literalmente rogar para la factura. Lo más importante, el gusto de la comida no era excelente, especialmente yo siendo un indio. Muy decepcionado. Otros comentarios eran engañosas.

Fuimos el martes de banquetes. Lugar estaba casi vacío. . El cordero era realmente difícil, como zapatos de cuero y las porciones de vegetales eran pequeñas. La salsa tenía un sabor agradable, pero no compensa las fallas de otros departamentos. Ofrece café instantáneo no está en un restaurante, así que nos fuimos y nos fuimos a otro lado. En general una noche decepcionante.

Known this place for years, a bit hit and miss following the decor and menu changes, but great curry these days. However, I gave given a poorer rating purely due to the really terrible take away service...basically, don't order a take away! For our last three orders we got someone else's food, felt like curry pot luck. Bit disappointing, especially when it already arrived late. To be fair they did redo our order, minus one dish (vindaloo special delivery for some lucky veggie) - we got to keep the other persons order though.Stay for the curry avoid the take away, unless you want to indulge in a curry pot luck.

Coming from Neuwied Germany we had been invited to enjoy this excellent service, superb décor, probably best food in town I had been told. The dinner contribute to a most memorable occasion at The Papadom. This cosy and atmospheric restaurant is housed in a beautiful period building just off Widmore Road and is very popular with a regular local clientele. The special lunchtime buffet, which operates every day including weekends, is amazing value. An unbelievable price person when you can eat as much as you like from a large selection of delicious dishes. Food was good but service was not. We were given menus and not asked whether we wanted drinks. I had to ask to order drinks and then still had to wait for a while for a waiter to come and take our drinks order. Not sure why as there was a waiter standing around and the restaurant was not busy as this was a Sunday night. It as also an expensive meal - probably paid an extra £10-£15 more than the usual Indian restaurant that we go to. We won't be going back in a hurry.

Went here on a Friday night early on and we were the first one through the doors. We were taking our son for his first proper curry. Service was great, but I guess this would be expected as we were the only people in the restaurant initially. The food was very nice. I didn't have any special, just a Chicken Jalfrezi, but it was cooked very well, as was the rice and bread. My lad had a Chicken Tikka Masala which he seemed to enjoy. Overall a very pleasant restaurant and I would recommend.

Went here with a family we're friends with who are from India and also good cooks so the expectation was high. We weren't disappointed. Food was very good. We ordered a range of meat and veggie dishes and everything tasted properly cooked, full of flavour and very reasonable. 100% recommend this place.

Was invited to share the special occasion with friends and family at the Papadom. We went on a Sunday and had a buffet lunch. There was loads of food including starters and poppadoms with all the usual sides. Then the main help yourself curry, lot's of choice from mild to hot. I hadn't been to the restaurant before but will definitely be making a return visit.The food, decor and the staff made it a very enjoyable anniversary lunch so thankyou and see you soon.

Booked out this restaurant for a Sunday family lunch, they don't normally open on a Sunday lunchtime but will do for parties. The whole lunch was a great success the food was great, and Hafiiz and his staff could not have been more attentive. Will certainly use them again and will recommend them to anyone needing a venue for a party.

We popped out last night to Papadom as we knew we would have a very pleasant evening there. The restaurant itself is scrupulously clean and the decor is very restful and extremely comfortable. Extremely important to me this time as I had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago. As usual the service was friendly and attentive but not overly so. The food was up to its usual high standard and well we had a lovely time. We would highly recommend.

Ordered a takeaway said delivery at 8:10 arrived 8:40 with one missing main dish which took another 30 minutes to be re delivered! Food was good but occasion ruined as one person unable to eat with other guests

We ordered a take away from here via Just Eat as we fancied something different to our regular curry house. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavours of the food. We hope to come in and eat very soon.

We visit this Indian restaurant every Friday evening its the best Indian restaurant in Bromley. The food is fantastic & the new management staff are extremely friendly & polite. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I have been here a couple of times, the last time, for a birthday celebration. It was very quiet both times, which I was surprised about, because the food is really good. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered, it was fresh, not greasy or heavy and really good flavours. The surroundings are modern and nicely decorated.The service was very attentive and we were given complimentary drinks for the birthday celebrations, although the other people in my party have been there several times. Will definitely be back.

I went with my brother in law last month. The food was fresh and tasty. Big lamb chops. Staff very friendly and curteous. Reasonably priced. I will definately go again and tell my friends

I have had a takeaway from here a few times and been impressed every time. Good quality food at a reasonable price, delivered straight to my door in a reasonable time.I will continue to use this place in future and will have to have a meal in the restaurant at some point as well!

This has recently been refurbished and the decor and style is very good, a vast improvement. The decor complements the food which is extremely good. I had the chicken lohari, it was beautifully coked, presented and above tasted wonderful.The rice had a lovely fresh fragrance. The service is friendly and efficient.I haven't been in this restaurant for several years, I will be back soon.

This small restaurant tucked away in Bromley is always excellent value with friendly staff. We have been numerous times and the food and service is always good. Excellent for takeaways too.

Not actually eaten in the restaurant but we always get a takeaway from here and it is first class - if you spend over a certain amount you get 20 per cent discount

I used to always order my takeaway from the Papadam and would often head in after the gym with my friend. But after they changed management and seemed to stop taking American Express I didn't go or order there again. I haven't had a curry actually since. We drive past there regularly and my little boy even used to sing a cheerful song about it as he was keen to go there.Today I logged into my O2 priority moments app and it said there was 25% off if I booked. We had planned to go to the Toby Carvery but thought it would be a nice treat for my boys and it made a change. So I booked online stating I had the offer.Driving there I had two missed calls but no voicemail from an unknown number. We arrived saying we had a reservation and the staff said they had tried to call me as they "don't do the offer" and had never heard of it. I showed them the app on my phone. They said they had nothing to do with it and made out I was making it up, eventhough it had all their details. I couldn't believe how rude they were especially as I had 2 children with me. They could have said that they didn't know about it but would honour it. Nothing. They just let us walk away. Turns out Papadam are with Gourmet Society (and the O2 thing is a Gourmet Society link in) and the O2 discount is the same anyway so they could have offered us that or asked if we are with GS (we are!)I found out about it being linked to GS as I rang up Yak and Yeti who were also on the app. They hadn't heard of the promo either but very graciously let us book and told us to come in. They said they would honour the offer as their details were on it. I showed them the offer and they bothered to read it properly unlike the people at Papadam and realised about the Gourmet Society tie in. Well Papadam have lost out on our regular custom as Yak and Yeti's staff were lovely and the food was delicious, so we will go there instead. My 5 year old said he wasn't going to sing about the Papadam anymore as "they are mean" and has decided to sing about Yak and Yeti.

i was a little bit sceptical after its recent refurb as i have many fond memories from it when i was younger.it still has its charm and is ok as indians go but due to its tucked away location it needs to offer something extra to drag people in but alas there is nothing special about it.Worth a visit if your local but nothing special

Second time of eating at/delivery from this restaurant. Food is by far the freshest and tastiest curry for miles around. The service is excellent both dining in the restaurant and delivery was prompt and food piping hot. The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. So pleased we found this place which is enjoyed by the whole family. It's a must!

New management new rude staff. Seams like they don't give a monkey's.Do not bother. There are better in bromley.

I live near this popular restaurant, so I know how busy it gets in the evenings at the weekend. So I was astonished at how quiet the restaurant was last Sunday lunchtime. Equally astonishing is that, in spite of the small number of customers, there was such a wide range of curries, rices, etc on offer, all for the as-much-as-you-can-eat price of £8.95. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended for Sunday Lunch. I do not normally give good reviews, preferring to keep any gems I discover to myself. But in this case, this restaurant clearly deserves to be better patronised at Sunday lunchtime.

The Papadom is a small and friendly restaurant offering, really good quality food at a very reasonable price, service is courteous and unintrusive. We have eaten at the Papadom for years, and despite a brief period earlier in the year which saw a brief decline in quality I am pleased to say that they are now back to their normal (excellent) standard. I certainly feel that other reviewers who have commented on rudeness of the staff no longer apply. I would put this in my personal top 3 Indian restaurants.The food itself is delicious and is much less heavy than equivalent meals I have eaten at other Indian restaurants. The Sunday buffet is especially worthwhile, as the is was a selection of 9 different curries along with a a selection of rices, sides, starters and other sundries, all of which were cooked to perfection (I can say this with confidence because I ended up trying a bit of everything). When you also take into account the food, the service and the fact that this costs just £8.95 per person I don't see how I could rate this restaurant as being anything less than excellent. In short defiantly worth a visit, especially for the Sunday buffet.

We used to enjoy the Papadom, under new management it is not the same. The service is "take it or leave it" attitude. This is a shame, the waiters are the same but the attitude has changed along with the standard of food. Oh well, plenty of other good Indian restaurants around, I will not be returning to the Papafom

Haven't been there for a couple of years then heard it was under new management. I thought I'd try it again as I'm local and I must say my king prawn pathia had lots of flavour, sweet, and hot and the shell on prawns were fresh. Everyone enjoyed there meal!

We visited and had the all you can eat buffet for 8.95. There was a nice selection of food on offer all very tasty and unlike some curries we have had was not at all greasy. Highly recommended.

The Papadam has been refurbished and is under new management. Had a meal with a friend last Thursday . Food was excellent and the service was very good. The new management seems to be trying hard. There were only a few customers when I ate there, so the atmosphere was a bit dull although the takeaway business seemed to be quite busy. Hopefully they get busier as word gets round.

The Papadom has been going for years - from the old days of cushioned chairs and dark and dingy to now . . all bright, modern and very swanky! Since its reopening last year it has already had one new management that frankly I didn't bother reviewing on as ate there twice in 6 months (I used to eat there weekly in the old days) and never went back!.Went back to the opening night with the new management and have to say it was lovely. Since then we have been back with and without children on a number of occasions and really enjoyed it.If I had to pick a fault it may be that the food isn't rushed out but then we didn't want to eat our food within half hour and leave anyway. ENJOY!

We went as a party of 6 last week and all of us commented on how good the food was. We saw some friends in there who also said their food was excellent. The lighting is a bit harsh to start with but once you get used to it it's fine. The décor has been spruced up nicely but the food was fantastic.

Have used this restaurant on and off for many years. There is a new menu now and last night the whole family couldn't fault it. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Excellent value for money also.

We've been reasonably regular punters at Papadom for the past three years and recently had our worst takeaway since then. We'd always found the food very good, very consistent and the prices very competitive.However, it now appears to be under new management and the standard has nose dived. In particular the two curries we had were swimming in oil, to the extent that the oil dominated the flavour and left an unpleasant taste in the mouth. Neither of us can work out why any more than the minimum amount to oil is required to cook these dishes. Also, the cost of a takeaway has increased markedly. Please note the review only applies to the takeaway we had, maybe sitting in is a better experience but we'll now never know.

good food for a good price, would go again. just came down for a meal for my brothers birthday and a drink went very well he enjoyed it also. no rush and nothing was to much trouble.

I live a 10min walk from here and have been coming for a nice meal out or to celebrate something like exam results for as long as I can remember. I've not been for some time as I am away for uni, but came last week and was pleasantly surprised with the new look.The food has always been great, and now the dining experience has been lifted to the next level.

Manager of the popadom is incredibly rude! They sometimes run special offers but like to hide these from their regulars. Shocking customer service and not worth supporting.

Well presented restaurant, good food, never rushed through your meal so you can go out and enjoy a full evening. Excellent staff who are friendly without being intrusive. Prices are very good with house wine at a reasonable £12.50.

Been many times to this restaurant and over the last 10 years after the recent refit they have turned the restaurant into one of my favourite eateriesGone are the silver serving dishes and in are classy looking white bowls which show off the food much better.Went last night Friday 28th September 2012 with a friend (Hi Patrick) and the meal came up trumps all round. In particular the chicken dopiaza and special rice were sublime and drinks are well priced. Coffee was also good in large cups and not the normal wee ones.Best Indian in Bromley and I've been to them all.

Me and my partner love this restaurant. In approximately a 1 mile radius there is maybe 6 or 7 Indian restaurants and take always and Papadams is by far the best. Excellent decor, great atmosphere and beautiful food made with quality ingredients.You are never rushed. We have used the restaurant maybe 10 times and usually spend around 3 hours, taking our time over every course. I would recommend highly. Mike and Chel
