We were really looking forward to this but it was a bit of a let down. The waitress was more interested in flirting than serving and didn’t bother to tell us items were off the menu until we ordered them, then stood over us waiting for us to choose something else which was very stressful. The pancakes when they arrived were ok. My husband had a savoury pancake which he said was good, but the pancake wasn’t very warm. I ordered my daughter pancakes with a side of blueberries and strawberries… she got about 3 strawberries and 5 blueberries which wasn’t very impressive. I ended up choosing the banoffee which was tasteless apart from sickly sweetness and my pancakes were cold. We also got a side of bacon which again was cold. Getting the bill was an ordeal as the waitress was once again busy flirting. Would not book again as I could make better myself.

Worst service ever at a centre Parcs pancake house. Sullen waitresses who were more interested with chatting about their weekend, or eating to bother with the customers. One especially, a shorter lady with a long dark plait really did not want to serve anyone and made us feel very unwelcome. Took us about 20 minutes to get someone’s attention just to get the bill. Definitely will not return.

The furniture really needed wiping down - all of it. The dining area was generally dirty and untidy - short of a good clean everywhere. The service was chaotic and slow - took 38 minutes to receive our simple order of 2 pancakes. We could see the waiting staff by the counter, so the problem seemed to be in the kitchen. A customer nearby had a dog that she put on her lap, so the dog was at the table. When staff approached I expected them to ask the guest to keep the dog on the floor, but instead, she stroked and handled the dog, even round its mouth, then did not wash her hands before going on to place cutlery and serve food. The dog remained at the table. When our food (pancakes) did arrive they were dry. The American pancakes were overcooked, powdery and had been cooked in a dirty pan, the Dutch pancake was dry. Both were lukewarm. No staff checked on us during our food. When the staff did speak to us, only to order and bring the bill, they were friendly - but overall - poor service. After paying, we asked to see the manager but none was available - perhaps going some way to explaining why the floor was so disorganised. A supervisor did speak to us, saying she was ‘not a manager, manager’ but she could speak to us, whatever that means. A waitress loitered nearby, clearly to eavesdrop. This was not dealt with. We told the ‘not a manager, manager’ the problems with the service and hygiene. The response was that it’s because it was busy, sorry. She asked how the food was and I told her. She just said ‘sorry - enjoy the rest of your day. Maybe it’s poor management that is the problem here. We hadn’t withheld the service charge, feeling it may be unfair on the overworked staff who beat the brunt, but on reflection maybe we should have. It may be the only way to get this company to provide customers with the service and food they are paying for. That, and reviews like this. All the problems could be rectified easily, but they don’t seem bothered. The Pancake House is not cheap and was a really poor experience. I regret paying the bill- I wish we had left without waiting so long for such poor food. I would avoid it - go elsewhere where you can get much better for much less.

Just awful, don’t bother. Great if you like cylinder foam tasteless ‘pancakes’ at ridiculous prices. Service slow despite it being pretty quiet, they took a while to clear our initial serving of drinks & ice cream before bringing out the mains, we had to ask them to clear the table. Staff hanging around chatting. Centre Parks, sort it out, we were expecting a better experience than this!

I've been here in the past and the pancakes were a decent size. Probably you would struggle to finish it as I have. Now, forget that. Service was slow first off. Took 25mins to get food even though it wasn't that busy. Now for £13 you get 2 tiny pancakes with a tiny spray of cream. We got blueberry and a banoffee. Basically a couple of spoonfuls of jam put on it. No actual blueberries and banana slices that was nowhere near a full banana. They even use the old plates which used to match the pancake size. Now, less than half the plate is taken up with 2 pancakes. The waitress saw my face when it arrived and apologised immediately before I even had a chance to comment. 5mins later when another waitress arrived to ask if "all ok" I said it was pathetic and looks like kids portions. She smiled and apologised. One blueberry, one banoffee, coffee & Pepsi( glass full of ice) was £32.90 including the 7.5% discretionary tip. I was stunned and feel like I was mugged. Quality wasn't great neither as they were rubbery. Save yourself a LOT of money and avoid. Sheer greed and sasky every restaurant is the same poor quality with extortionate prices. Think packet £1 for 6 pancakes from Tesco, Asda that's the size.

We have always enjoyed the food at the pancake house and I think it was previously one of the better options at Centre Parcs. However, some significant changes to the way the food is made and the quality meant that we really didn’t enjoy our meals at all. Firstly, like many of the other reviewers, we were disappointed to see that many of the savoury options have been removed from the menu and it is now far more boring. Secondly, the pancakes we ordered were very different to what we’d previously had there. Rather than having a good amount of nice topping cooked within the pancake, the restaurant seems to now just cook little pancakes and slap some toppings on them depending on what has been ordered. For example, the banoffee pancake used to have a caramelised banana cooked inside it and plenty of nice cream etc. on the top. It now appears to be a smaller serving with a more limited number of toppings plopped on top of a pancake. The pancakes themselves are not very nice as they were very dry and poor quality. The sauce on the pancake was pretty disgusting. We really missed the old forrester pancake. Restaurant decoration is ok but I preferred the cosy old style. Service was reasonably good. We didn’t actually cancelled our second booking there after this meal as it was so poor. Please return to the old style! I see from the other reviews that I’m not the only one saying this…

This is our sixth family visit to centre parcs but our first to Woburn. We have visited the pancake house previously, so we knew what to expect or thought that we did! We were shown to our table by an unhappy looking member of staff, not the normal friendly greeting. Two of our sons ordered hot chocolate, but the machine wasn't working, no hot chocolate. When the drinks arrived, the four coffees were all lukewarm. Luckily, the teas were hot. I ordered Dutch apple waffles when it arrived it was pancakes. Fortunately, everyone else had the correct order, but everyone complained that theirs were hardly warm. I thought I would be lucky because mine had been returned the pancakes would be replaced with a fresh hot waffle, but mine was just colder than everyone else's. When the bill arrived, the £30 deposit hadn't been removed. I asked the waiter to correct it. When he returned will the new bill he had only removed £20 I had to point out I had paid £5 per person, 6 people = £30 he did get it right eventually. The cost was £99 for a very disappointing cold family breakfast

This was an awful experience. We were told that there would be a half hour wait when we arrived for food. It was infact 50 minutes to food arriving. I was asked about an allergy when I got there and the waitress looked taken aback and put out. I have a milk allergy. When my meal came it was totally wrong and I had been very specific and asked the waitress to say it back to me on ordering. By this time the kids and adults were starving. They agreed to replace straight away however after 10 minutes other big table orders were coming out. All the family had finished so I asked to cancel it. Then the bill was wrong and the waitress had to get a manager to correct it which took another 15 minutes. My husband said the food was average and pancakes smaller than 2 years ago when visited. Such a shame as we were all looking forward to it. Staff really need to show they care about the customer at Woburn

Don’t bother. Waited 45 minutes for our food including my son’s one single crepe with lemon and sugar that cost a shocking £9.50. Portion sizes are tiny and prices are extortionate for what you get. The restaurant was packed and service was slow due to an overwhelmed kitchen but I guess with it being in Center Parcs they don’t need to rely on repeat custom. Water is served in a paper cup…thought I was in a restaurant not a fast food joint. Came in for some American pancakes but there’s nothing American about the food in this place. Disappointing in all areas.

We went there for lunch. We were given children’s menus for our daughter (8) and son (11). The children’s portions were very small and both our children left hungry. Our son ordered a pancake for his main which was literally one small pancake with syrup and cost £8 or £10 as part of the meal offer. When we complained about it, we were told that the menu had been changed recently and the portion sizes for children had been made smaller to reduce waste. While I know some children don’t have big appetites, I think it should be made clear how big the portion sizes are on the menu. I would definitely advise ordering from the main menu for children over 8 with bigger appetites. The staff did give the children bigger desserts as a response to our complaint and the staff were friendly. I wouldn’t return though as I think it’s very over priced for what you get. Disappointing.

This is our first visit back with the kids who are now adults and we had prebooked which is essential even for an off peak time of year. We came late morning thinking we would beat the rush but we were wrong. Lots of screaming children sat near to a soft play section, so not the place really for a catch up. We ordered drinks and £3.25 for a black coffee would not be too bad if the coffee was strong. I have had coffee at a couple of other places here at CP Woburn and the general theme seems to be weak coffee( to make more money perhaps?) My blueberry waffle with cream and ice cream was nice but over £9! Pancakes are not a "side stack" with the ingredients but within 1 large pancake fyi. 6 people with drinks for pancakes and a waffle= £93! Yes we had a choice not to go and yes we knew that CP has always been a bit pricey but this was terrible in terms of value for what you get. Staff were friendly though with 7.5% service charge always added to the bill

Booking was straightforward on the app. Were seated quickly. Ordered The NewYorker. Pancakes were good but simply not enough maple syrup. Also had the Banoffee stack which had very little banana/chocolate sauce/cream and was left with the last few pancakes being without any sauce or cream so was dry. The pancakes were tasty though. Unfortunately the made issue was with the American breakfast savoury pancake. It came out quickly but it the dough was raw. As soon as we saw it we new it would be bad. My adult son tried it but it was inedible. He had asked for the baked beans to be on the side, which they were but there was a hair in them. This hair did not belong to any of our party. The server was mortified. She replaced the meal. The next pancake was better but still fairly undercooked so my son ate as much as he could. The knocked the cost of that meal from the bill but they still left the 7.5% service charge on the bill. I asked them to remove this charge which they did. Overall we felt a bit underwhelmed with our first visit. I did read the reviews prior to booking and was aware that there were very mixed reviews. We just got unlucky I guess. I certainly think the price they charge is crazy for what you get but wanted to give it a go. Would not go back.

Terrible service. We ate out several times during our recent short break at Center Parcs. This was the worst meal by a long shot. The whole restaurant was really dirty with left over food left on tables, chairs and the floor. The member of staff (male, long hair in pony tail) who served us was lazy and rude, spending their time gossiping and walking slowly around instead of ensuring customers had a good experience. Service was very slow. There was no pleasant chit chat, he barely acknowledged us, and the member of staff who served us made us feel we were a chore. Lots of sighing and smirking. Our food was brought out without cutlery and another member of staff was very apologetic and went to find some. When it did arrive our ice cream was liquid and the cutlery was dangerously hot (assume it had come straight from the dishwasher). We had to hold it in napkins to avoid burns! We asked to remove the 7.5% service charge that CP now add to all restaurant bills. They are obviously not confident enough in their service to leave this to the customer's discretion. We were made to feel very guilty about this request and the staff member refused to speak to us following this, simply thrusting the card machine at my husband.

We visited the pancake house on the morning of our last day here as we had been here once before and service and food was very good thanks to Malcom he was lovely and friendly throughout our whole experience. We got here at about 11:30 on the friday morning and we sat down and ordered. Our food took about 35-40 minutes to come out and when it did come out only 4/5 meals came out first and my sisters pancakes were stale and the maple syrup had a film over as it had obviously been waiting in the kitchen for a long time. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for the other dish to come out and it took another waitress to realise that we were all waiting for the other dish and then she walked into the kitchen and came out with it straight away which obviously means once again it was just waiting on the side all this was whilst we watched another table of 6 behind us get served however they sat down after us! There were six of us. The menu gave us plenty of choice with various sweet and savoury pancakes. Our granddaughter particularly enjoyed the stacked pancakes with chocolate and cream. Reasonably priced.

I've been to The Pancake House before at another Centerparcs location so knew that this was a must book restaurant before my stay and it didn't disappoint. They have had to introduce strict social distancing measures during the pandemic, but they work well and actually, I quite liked that my table wasn't close to others! I found it annoying having to order everything via the Centerparcs website to limit the contact with staff and decaf options for drinks aren't available on the website ordering system despite a staff member telling us that they were. However, we asked another waiter and he said he would ensure that my Latte was served as decaf and it was. The food was outstanding! We ordered the regular Blueberry Delight Stack and Chocoholics stack and both were amazing and highly recommended.

So where do I start ...well the pancakes themselves were actually quite nice ...synthetic strawberry / blueberry sauces ..if that's your thing then they were ok ...it was just the customer service where it all went a bit wrong ...Several of the party wanted a half and half ..savory and sweet ..best of both worlds.. and asked the waitress if this was possible ..they were assured it was so the half and halfs were duly ordered... bit of a cock up with a pancake that should have been an omelette And took an age to get rectified..but heh...it was sorted eventually ...food consumed and time for the bill ..all in all came to about 140£ for 10 of us ...which is where the problem came ...3 of the party had ordered half and half but had been charged double ..so full price for each pancake ....which defeated the object of the half and half request ...objections raised ( unfortunately one of the party's voice got a bit raised too ...which was apologised for later ) so duty manager duly Called over.... In THE MOST patronising voice ever she explained ( mansplained ) that the half and half was infact just two pancakes and were charged accordingly and couldn't understand why when we were expecting to pay the price of one pancake ( 9.95 for two halves ) my party Were balking at paying nearly 20£ for a breakfast item ....eventually she conceded that the waitress should have explained it a little better as to how the menu worked and as a courtesy ...tho she didn't feel it should have been necessary as in her words they had far exceeded their level of courtesy ..she reduced the bill by 6£ ....This on top of her demeanor and patronising arrogance was actually more of an insult than anything else ...we duly paid and left ...and won't be returning. To contrast this my party went to Hucks the night previous And spent less ( 120£) on 10 main meals a couple of desserts and alcohol ....And were treated with respect and courtesy ......Do not go to the pancake house...go to the sports bar ....buy your own..do anything but give patronage to the pancake house !

Been here a couple of times before but this was the worst. Came here as happened to be in Biggleswade on business Overpriced completely for breakfasts and not allowed any breakfast swaps and wants to charge £1.50 for anything extra… waiter, in between being on his laptop with headphones, was trying to upsell and even at one point congratulated himself on being a great salesman!! You are not :-( Food quality not good and for £7 elsewhere I also get toast and a hot drink and good quality food. So wasted £21 and your milk was on the turn too!

Tried this takeaway restaurant for the first time, never again, probably one of the worst Chinese takeaway meals we’ve ever had, the chow mein had hardly any vegetables, thin cheap noodles in a watery sauce, special fried rice was anything but special, no complementary prawn crackers - we won’t be returning.

Extensive refurbishment since the business was taken over and restaurant is now more modern and efficient. It is still changing as they learn from experience as to what works best - which is fine and does show they are willing to adapt. We call in occasionally as it is local to us. Good selection of snacks and the cooked food is always very well done and seems cooked to order rather than sitting on hotplates as in some similar venues. What stops us using the place more often is that the coffee is not great, specifically not very strong. I'm aware this is a matter of taste but the coffee (best example is their flat white) often doesn't taste very much of coffee, just hot water and milk - they need to look at the settings they use I think. Four stars for their food but only one or two stars for their coffee (which is at least nice and hot),
