The Pancake House in Central Bedfordshire

Took a chance by turning up but luckily there was space for a large group of us, who just happen to decide we should at least try the menu. Staff where really nice and welcoming to use and guided us through anything we was not sure of. From ordering to eating, food was really good as well as arrived on time for everyone to eat at the same time. There was even an Ella's kitchen snack for free included for the kids. If you have a group of 4 or more people then boom in advance, or avoid busy times to not be disappointed

Unfortunately when you are staying at Center parcs, your options are limited. We stayed in a double hotel room (4 nights for £299 in Feb) and used it as a base to visit nearby places like Bletchley Park. We did eat at the Pancake House one of the mornings and probably would not go back. There was a grumpy lady who greeted us at the front desk but the waiting staff were otherwise ok. Ordered the all day breakfast Dutch pancakes and had the tiniest portion of the driest baked beans in the land. It was not proportional to the pancake making it a very dry meal. Cleanliness was also an issue, there was a left over baby wipe on the floor nearby which was not swept away for the duration of our meal. Also pricey but to be expected at Center Parcs. The menu is also really strange with a very modular layout to 'build' your pancake. Would have just preferred a normal menu.

Absolutely fantastic. The service was great. It was my nieces birthday, they brought out a pancake with a candle in and sung happy birthday. They even gave her a birthday card. It made her day. We were also celebrating a Wedding anniversary on the party they each got a glass of Prosecco on the house, a card and a candle in the pancakes. The food was amazing also and reasonably priced especially considering it’s in Centre Parks which is so expensive. Overall a fantastic experience made by the team and the food. Definitely go and give it a try

Disappointing. Overpriced. Won't go again. Stupid kids menu. Sweet pancakes as a main course in a meal deal that comes with fizzy drink and dessert included?! Ridiculous

Bad customer service, extremely slow service resulting in food coming before the drinks. The American omelette was really nice however wasn’t piping hot. Lots of staff working so don’t understand why the service wasn’t great.

Was unsure based on comments what this would be like but overall we thought it was pretty good, food was good and service was great, we paid £15 a head for pancakes and a drink (+tip) which I don’t think is too bad (especially considering at centerparcs), would definitely go again when at centerparcs

We had a family breakfast to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday. The staff were very attentive and efficient, the food was fabulous and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

We've been to the Pancake House many times at other Center Parcs but this one just seemed off? The food was extremely overpriced for what it is: 3 tiny little pre made pancakes that taste like Asda own, 4 pieces of bacon and maple syrup. I can't remember but I want to say this ranges from £9-£11. When the waitress took our plates, she said "you don't want to see the desert menu right?", well we did but felt really rushed so just said no. Overall, very cheap food put out at an expensive price.

Yummy pancakes + good service 🥞😋

I will start with the most concerning thing. The chefs were making the food with their bare hands... No gloves. Not only does this raise questions of adequate separation of meat and non-meat options but brings up very serious concerns about cross contamination and allergy awareness. Sat down and placed our orders... Waited approx 30 mins and when we queried this we were told that we should have been informed by our server there is a 30-45 minute wait (which we weren't). Ordered one of the vegan options and was essentially odd tasting pancakes with raw fruit thrown on top, including raw apples?!. Not exactly something that takes 30 minutes to make. Not only disappointed with the food and service but genuinely concerned with the food hygiene levels here.

As a person with a dairy allergy going on holiday is stressful. The staff at the pancake house were so helpful. Even though the item I picked appeared to be crossed off the tablet they made me the vegan Sicilian pancake. It was so tasty. Definitely recommend if you like a savoury pancake.

The overall food was so tasteless. Pancakes with poor add ons and very high price for what you get. I do not recommend this establishment.

I have a banana allergy and this meant I was not able to have any thing from the sweet pancake menu. They explained that if I wanted a pancake my only option was a Dutch-style savoury pancake with parsley in the mixture. This is because they use the same griddle for all pancakes. I am not sure why they do not have separate pans to allow them to adequately cater for people with allergies. I ended up eating some disappointing ice cream whilst the group of people I was with had pancakes.

Came in for lunchtime and they ran out of Oreo for the Oreo and cookie dough pancakes. I asked if I could still get the cookie dough with other options and the waiter said no. I then changed my order to strawberry’s and chocolate sauce and was told they ran out of chocolate sauce. I was then rushed to find a third choice and then it took a long time to come.

Good food but slow service. The pancakes were quite small.

I was waiting in a long line. I was really looking forward to tasty pancakes. Finally, we were at the front of the line. We couldn't go in because they were not doing walk ins. They said we will have to wait till 11:30 when the current time was 10:00. I was not aware that they only gave places to people that booked. I then had to walk back to another cafe to have my breakfast I had been longing for. I realised they had wasted my time and I could have had 5 pancakes in that much time. I hope the service will better in the future. However, I am sure the pancakes must be delicious.

Utterly terrible service for a family of 4 who all ordered pancakes. We were there for over 2 hours as it took that long to receive mains and desserts. Staff were kind and gave us free coffee but they really need to work on their speed.

Food was mediocre at best, asked for coke received Pepsi,£4.25 for a cold drink??? Little note on table informing you that you have to tip 7.5%.... Or you can ask to remove this charge...... Really!!! Have been going to Centre parcs for years but pancake house has changed not worth it, won't return

Very nice place to get breakfast🥞

Went twice for our weekend away, once with booking and once without. Both time were given middle room table and had throughout enjoyable experience. Service was polite. Food was simply amazing. We had banoffee, raspberry,Nutella and blueberry pancakes, omelette and smoothies. All was great, thank you. Was not 100% reading all the disappointing reviews but have some experience with other pancakes houses Would return with pleasure and would recommend.

I was surprised by how good this place was a couple of years ago on my first visit so we marked it for breakfast again recently. We had french toast with red berries, bacon, maple syrup. I had the scrambled egg and toast. Both of us had a smoothie each. All was excellent with great service. It was fairly busy too with lots of loud kids around who were somehow allowed to ferrally paw everything in sight, spill drinks everywhere, and scream the windows to cracking point by miserable, unskilled parents. Despite the utter chaos around us on a morning bereft of sun, we were pleased with our meal and service. The waffles are also very nice if sweet is your thing.

6 of us went delicious but portions alot smaller than last year and I'm not keen on cream so asked if I could swap the cream for ice-cream and said no needed to pay £2 more for ice-cream. Also do not now do adult milkshakes. Overpriced too but everything is in centre parcs. So you expect to pay extra. Also they add 7 and a half % service charge, you can ask to take it off your bill bit cheeky as some people may be embarrassed to ask.

very overpriced for what it is and the service you recieve. half of the options weren't available, so we settled on the new yorker pancakes and the fruit and honey ones. very disappointed.. paid £12 for 3 small pancakes with some blueberries thrown on the plate and a small amount of syrup, same with the new yorker ones but replace the blueberries with a bit of bacon.

Truly awful experience, came away feeling traumatised. I have coeliac and also can't eat dairy, my daughter is the same. I kept asking what would be safe to eat and got conflicting responses from each server. No idea why we had 3 different servers. This lead me to feel very concerned. One server called the manager, who I thought knew what she was doing. She swapped things around and said our meal was now safely vegan and gluten free. When my daughter and I had consumed nearly all the savory pancake, yet a different server came to the table and said we had been eating dairy, as that the feta used was the wrong one and that we should seek medical attention. Thank goodness someone told us, but was an awful experience.

Unfortunately, we’re disappointed every time we come to the pancake house at CP Woburn. This time, we had a luke warm (at a push) coffee, a green smoothie (£5) that tasted of water with a tiny hint of spinach (on complaining they bought a new one that was fractionally better but not great at all). No milk, spoon or sugar bought out with tea and coffee. Asked for an extra plate that never came. Only positives were the young man serving us (Soul I think his name was) - he was lovely and very attentive, and the pancakes were nice this time (historically they haven’t been). Shame as the location of the pancake house is fantastic next to the lake and it has a lot of potential.

Staff were friendly but service was slow. Admittedly busy but I like to have my drink WITH my meal, not 20 minutes before. Pancakes were pretty atrocious. Tasted like the grtty mixture you buy in a store. And putting bacon on a pancake doesn't make it American. It needs to be made with buttermilk to be super fluffy, and traditionally larger than a standard scotch pancake. Prices are outrageous (paid £9.50 for pictured pancakes) Not recommended.

Table sticky, with dead flies. Needed to chase staff to wipe it for us. Under the table green that stained and ruined out clothes as on the photo. The deck untidy, window sills untouched in ages, flies nesting on widow sills by the table they sit you at. Needs to be better maintained. Atmosphere saved by the lovely view and location. Food came out fast, kids loved their pancakes. Can’t comment on adult food as we didn’t eat.

Dutch pancakes were great. Rocky road pancake disappointing as it was just ice cream on a pancake. Note that although the receipt said 7% service charge is added, it was actually 12%, unclear billing.

Service a bit slower than I’d have liked

Really disappointed with this place. Paid 9 pound for one pancake that tastes disgusting. Overall we paid 31 pounds for two pancakes, a tiny milkshake and a smoothie plus the tip. Absolute rip off and food was horrible. Will never return

Booked in advance for 7, was shown a table for 6, useless as one person in a wheelchair. Service was very slow, food took nearly 45 mins to arrive and was uniformly bad! Smothered in balsamic vinegar glaze and whilst we were warned the plates were hot, the food was cold. What a disappointment. Won’t go back…

Visited in March, the service and atmosphere was exceptional. I was with my hubby, little one and fur baby and the colleagues were so accommodating and helpful. Special shout out to Summer! The food was amazing as always!

We all love a pancake however this place is overpriced and the service is awful! Took over 30mins for an order and there was empty tables everywhere. Let’s talk about the nachos limp and lifeless funny taste and the presentation was dire!

The food was very tasty but I couldn't help feel that the portions were small compared to the price! One pancake meal, one omelette meal and one soft drink plus service was £30. I also didn't feel full after this meal so was left a little disappointed! The atmosphere was lacking a bit, and felt the furniture was a bit old/outdated. But staff were very polite and attentive. Feel this would be better for kids if you're willing to spend a bit more!

We had a booking then when we arrived was told it was a 45 minutes wait for food. I’m not sure how it takes that long to make pancakes. Even the waitress said to us it was ridiculous. It’s also not the cleanest place so we left and ate that the sports bar instead.

Really unimpressive. Very slow service all round, slow to take order, deliver and clear. Food overpriced and small, and not very good. Staff pleasant but inefficient. Really poor. Nachos were awful.

Food reasonable but prices la mind boggling out of kilter - £8 for a small child’s pancake main and most kids needing 2-3 of these meaning a very expensive experience if you’re making this an actual mean. Bit of a low point for CP experience and may need a rethink

Staff and atmosphere were all good, however the prices are extremely high for the portion sizes. 5 year old boy was left hungry after the kids fruit breakfast pancake (2 small pancakes, half a strawberry, 3 blueberries and 2 small pieces of apple). Expect to pay £2 for a children’s milk.

Awful experience here. Went for my son’s birthday and it took an hour to get our pancakes. Service was appalling, manager had no clue, complete chaos. Very average pancakes and omelettes rubbery.

Overall pretty awful experience. Prices have sky rocketed with portions very small. Completely understand inflation but we were charged £8 for a single plain "child's" pancake. Then £2 for some strawberries cut up. But child's dessert pancakes are £3.95 (exact same size and had strawberies and whipped cream) 🤦 They made a big fuss about allergies and then served pasta with cheese to a child with gluten and dairy intolerances 🤦

Nice cafe (located in the Woburn Forest centre parcs resort) offering a range of pancakes, waffles and french toast. Service is quick and friendly and the food is good quality. Very large range of gluten free options and they were very allergy aware. Special mention to Kathy who was really attentive. She was so mortified that the kitchen got the order wrong that she made it her personal mission to follow it up and rectify.

Booked in for 10:30, on the Wednesday (January) and had half the place to ourselves. Great service

The food was pretty poor and wouldn't go back. Service varied. Initially met by a young lady who was very sharp and with it. Regrettably served by a gentleman who gave us a dirty obviously unwashed teacup, then dirty paper cups for our water. My wife nearly lost it when she was given lukewarm tea as well, but the nice lady thankfully replaced it. I didn't have the heart to tell her that my coffee was awful as I didn't want to cause a problem.

Having a captive audience within Center Parcs definitely seems to mean there is no incentive to try hard. The food is really poor quality and none of our meals were enjoyed or finished. Such a shame as a fantastic desert restaurant would be amazing here!

Avoid this place breakfast pancake is tastless low budget ingredients made me feel sick afterwards don't listen to good reviews wasted £55 here. Don't order the hot chocolate it's just instant chocolate with hot Water no cream. I could have made better with ingredients from the shop If you want nice food the sports cafe is 100 times better and reasonably priced.

I have a dairy allergy and was told that I was not able to have one of the very few vegan friendly options due to a crunchie chocolate bar being used to make the honeycomb crunch that accompanied the meal. Luckily this had been pulled from the menu, but could have caused me serious issues if it had not, and had only left me with 3 other options to choose from.

Hadn’t heard great things about this place but we enjoyed our experience. The food was brilliant and the staff were very friendly.

Nice place loads to choose from. Prices reasonable. Good service. Our waitress was very helpful and gave us a 20% off voucher for another restaurant on site which was kind.

Service beyond a joke. Sat waiting for 20mins once being seated without even being asked for a drink order. We left. Wasn't even busy.

Matteo was a great host. Enjoyed our pancakes and waffles for brunch. Would highly recommend.

Good pancakes and excellent lake view ..

The place feels tired. The pancakes are not delicate and more-ish. Most like stodgy and hefty. Omelette is fine (but the veg in it didn’t seem to have been cooked at all). So much potential to be a memorable experience. Sadly, instantly forgettable.

Amazing place and amazing service, there is a guy over there and his name is Matteo he is the best waiter I have ever seen in my life, he has an amazing personality.

The kids loved it, especially the pancake with baked beans. Personally I thought it was okay. The service was great, quick and people are nice like everywhere honestly in this Centerparcs. The setting/ambiance is not the best, not very cozy and the proximity of the beach means that of course there is sand on the floor that the staff have no way to deal with during the day.

The glasses are super old and the tables are dirty. The pancakes were below average. The staff is friendly

4th visit here and every time we come I think the same. Place lack’s management and any passion for customer service. Foods always been good but the welcome was cold as if it was a hassle to seat us. Quick service itself from staff who don’t seem to be arsed which again comes from a lack of management. Someone leading from the front is needed to improve the customer experience.

Nice location by the lake, shame they don't give you real maple syrup, considering the prices!

Fantastic place. Served by a lovely waitress called Nikki and she was very polite and helpful. Food was very filling and great quality.

Great service and food better than expected.

Good food, very tasty and filling, only issues, they served my beer with a glass of ice, and there was a delay with one of the other pancakes served. Other than that, it was a very good experience.

Imho one of the best places to eat at center parks. Prompt service, fun food, relaxed and chill early in the day can get a bit mouser later on.

We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks. I ordered the Mexican Omelette it was discussing the pork is processed pieces of meat. The meat in the Omelette was cold I didn't even eat it. The morning staff we not attentive at all.

Interesting place. You can have just about anything in a pancake. Was very busy.

Unlike other Center Parcs restaurants at Woburn, The Pancake House seems to have significantly improved over the past year. Service was outstanding from greeting at the door to subsequent attention to detail - shout out to Zoe who was working her socks off and remained smiling and engaging throughout ! Had American pancake stacks for breakfast and wow ! Best i've gad since the last time i visited the US. The New York stack - pancakes with maple and lots of crispy bacon (and i mean lots!!) was fabulous. The Strawberry and cream stack sweet and delicious. Coffee was great too. No excessively priced and overall a pleasant surprise.

Absolutely amazing, could not fault the staff, fantastic service and the food is to die for! Banana and waffles for breakfast is incredible! Even though we hadn't booked, we were seated and served quickly. Despite it being check out day, the food didn't take more than 15-20 minutes, and we all savoured every bite. 100/100 absolutely recommend!

Located in Centre Parcs it is a very popular restaurant and definitely worth booking before your visit if you can, as I does get busy. You can turn up without a booking but you might have to wait a while to be seated. The staff are friendly and polite and orders are presented well and quite quickly. If you have a sweet tooth you won’t be disappointed.

Visited today (Tue) for a table for 3 and had not booked. We were seated swiftly and ordered quickly too. Kids menu had a game and crayons which kept my son busy. Shame the kids menu doesn't have pancakes and maple so had to order the boy an adult size! Food came out quickly and was delicious. Was disappointed there was no omelettes available today, maybe they ran out of eggs. Staff were friendly and service swift. Large gluten free options and 1 vegan option. Had a lovely brunch and morning on holiday!

Visited before leaving centre parcs on our last day. Average food, but dreadful slow service! Waited over 20 minutes for drinks which arrived way after food. Be aware that they automatically add a tip to your bill, which was cheeky considering the poor service!

Food wasn't bad at all, service was slow and staff a bit miserable. Kids enjoyed it.

Stopped by for a quick lunch - the initial order taking was a bit slow but the food then arrived quickly. Ordered the meat feast pancake (small, which was plenty big enough) and a Coke Zero. Not overly expensive and impressive amount of gluten free options. Closes at 17:00 which is quite early really but nice location on the lake.

Disappointed with our brunch today at The Pancake House. The service was extremely slow, we waited 30 minutes to receive drinks and 45 minutes to place a food order. The staff were new and being trained on the job, which is fine but challenging on a busy Saturday morning. When the food arrived after almost 1 hour, it was fine but average, and overall not worth the price.

It's a good place to take your kids and can be noisy without too much drama! Food was fine, sticky American style pancakes! You get what you expect!

The food was lovely and I was spoilt for choice. It's definitely worth booking in advance though as the service can be slow at busy times.

We went there with our family including 2 young grandchildren. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the chicken and mushroom pancake. The soft play area was a hit with the little ones.

Pros -wonderful and patient staff -food beautifully presented -child friendly restaurant theme -right next to waterfront so easy to find Cons - no very early or very late opening hours for children and adults with autism - though beautiful, pancakes were cold/luke warm when served - no salt or pepper on table for savory pancakes

Friendly staff and I enjoyed my pancake. However the service is really slow and the customer care could be more attentive. I was hoping for a stack of pancakes but got one big pancake. Nevertheless, it tasted good and that’s all that matters, ultimately. If they could sort out the speed of service, I’d probably go back.

Staff make this an exceptional experience. I really enjoyed the Banana Pancake staff. It was good value for money and came as a large plate. I struggled to finish it. Worth a visit as child friendly and a very enjoyable experience.

An excellent alternative family experience. They do both pancakes and omelettes; which’s is helpful if you don’t want just a pancake! Prices are steep, (aren’t they everywhere!) Harry the attendant was excellent and I got commend him highly enough for his customer service skills!

Final meal before setting of home and everything was very good and the menu was very varied. Most of our party had different items, with a mixture of savoury and sweet and we all left full and happy.

Lovely food and lots of options for food and drinks. Pancakes, waffles, omelettes, sweet and savoury! Used the app to order which was easy but the waiting staff were helpful and on hand if needed. Really good sized portions and options for smaller portions which was helpful!

Food was good but there was such a long wait for food to come. Drinks took about 20 minutes after ordering, food about 25 after that. We ordered deserts which took another 35 minutes once ordered and the plates from the main course weren’t taken away leaving no space what so ever. Staff seemed more interested in having a chat amongst each other and not very engaged with customers. Food tasted good though.

This was my first visit and maybe I was expecting too much. American style savoury pancakes are heavy. The cheese and bacon pancake contains fatty streaky bacon, and sadly was not very appetising. I should have chosen an omelette.

We pre -booked but when we arrived our names weren’t down. Then we ordered food and 4 of us had finished by the time the other meals arrived. We asked where food was and the woman said that if we ordered separately that this could happen, which I wasn’t interested in, just go and find out where it is instead of making excuses. Plus these meals were from the same ticket. Food was nice tho

Terrible. I mean really awful. A thirty minute wait for lukewarm drinks and a forty five minute wait for our food. The pancakes were salty and tough and my omlette was almost in edible. Dry, under seasoned, cooked with such a lack of love or skill that I could have cried. Even the kids didn't like the pancakes. Waste of money and wish I'd cooked at home.

Always a treat at Center Parcs, have never found a restaurant anywhere else who can do so much with batter. We visited for late lunch at 3 and had our pick of outside tables. Only one family dining inside. Huge variety of pancake and omelette based food. Savoury options make a nice change and our three year old loved sausage and beans pancake. Decent service, you now have to order from an app and pay upfront. Easier departure but difficult to judge gratuity options. A must-do at Center Parcs.
