My partner booked dinner at Adam's, was really looking forward to it but from the moment we walked in the experience was very disappointing. Located in Luton hoo, the decor is lacking and seems dated, staff are not very attentive and seem to spend more time chatting amongst themselves then serving tables, seemed to take ages to order food and to pay the bill considering only a handful of customers in the restaurant. The food itself was ok but nothing to shout about, I had the steak for mains, medium but clearly the meat wasnt rested before serving as my plate had blood seeping into the plate. Personally I wouldn't recommend, plenty of good restaurants in Harpenden which is just down the road.

Booked on line for a group of 5 friends for what we thought was their Festive Christmas menu. Arrived to be told that this was not available and was presented with their ‘normal’ menu. We were incredibly disappointed but we have to say that Neel, the restaurant manager turned our experience into a very pleasant lunch. Great customer service Neel (it could have been a very different experience!). Our thanks also to Cole for his excellent service. As an observation, it was disappointing that there there wasn’t one Christmas decoration to be seen, so unlike our Brasserie experience of previous years. Although the main house was decorated beautifully. It seems that the new owners have a lot of work to bring this hotel up to its normal high standards of excellence.

Did advise a Xmas celebration so was disappointed to see both outside and inside had no decorations or even a bunch of flowers somewhere. The staff were super, very attentive and keen. The food was average would have preferred if food was freshly made but was food ready made and heated. Last time I was here food was definitely made fresh by the chefs the summer was busy whilst now it is very quiet. Prices were fair. I will come back in the summer when, hopefully, the chefs are using their skills. The hotel was amazing as usual, always worth a visit; love Luton Hoo.

Dinner at Adam’s Brasserie is probably one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I may as well have been dining at a motorway service station - it certainly did not represent any of the photos that are on the website. The lights are glaring, there are no personal touches to the tables and the service was slow and unfriendly. When we arrived for dinner one of the waiters told us we were only entitled to a 2 course dinner. When we said we were actually due a 3 course meal (per the website description) he said he would go and check and come back to us. He did not come back to chat with us. It’s really not a great way to start dinner when you’re told you’re not going to have what you signed up for. The service was slow and ill attentive despite the restaurant only being half full. We asked to order wine and were rudely told to wait. Once finished we then asked for the bill…we waited 20 minutes and it never came so we decided to leave. This was not in part to not pay the bill but because we were frustrated from the whole evening. The waiters then told us we weren’t due a 3 course meal but were in fact only allowed £40 worth each. We disputed this and showed the booking email as well as the website which states we were entitled to a 3 course meal. I shouldn’t expect to have to haggle our dinner at a 5* hotel. The fact we were then told we had to pay almost £20 for terrible service was beyond me. Don't waste your time or money coming to this restaurant... go and dine at The Grove instead!

You only live once, and although some people would say this restaurant and Luton Hoo are very expensive you go for the quality of food, service and surroundings. However, another very important element is the staff and beyond doubt the way we were treated was exemplary. Hadn't visited for some considerable time and was looking forward to traditional Sunday lunch, which was one of their highlights in the past. However the experience was not the same. Adams Brasserie no longer do Sunday roasts. The menu they have is limited (no starters and only two options for pudding). My friend ordered steak and chips, which was served with no garnish and no condiments. I would have ordered steak but the only option they had was rump. I ordered the pasta which was adequate but to be honest I could have had this meal in any establishment. The restaurant was also freezing cold and with winter underway this seemed unreasonable not to have any heating. We were told the heating was not working, something I have never encountered in my 15 years visiting the restaurant. The toilets were heated at least. However where they used have hand towels in baskets, a nice luxury detail, this has now been replaced by paper towels dispensed from the wall. There was also one young waiter on duty. And no maitre 'd to take our coats. All in all standards have dropped considerably and no longer consider this a quality establishment, even though the price point seemed high (over £70 for two people having just one course and one glass of wine). I have had much better quality meals, service and ambience at my local Beefeater. Very disappointed.

I have been to this restaurant in the past and it has always been very good....until today. This was the first time I'd been back in around 18 months and the difference was sad. The dining room and the setting are both beautiful but not the food or the service. The menu mainly consists of burgers or pizza with sausage and mash thrown in which we chose. And that's what came. Sausage, mash and gravy. No green veg. We asked for a pepper grinder. We were told they don't have those. We skipped pudding and went straight to coffee. We ordered 2 black coffees with cream on the side. We were told they don't have cream but they could stick a dollop of vanilla ice cream in instead. I don't like cold coffee!! Avoid, avoid, avoid at all costs. It was absolutely awful. Just keep driving. Don't stop here.

Horrendous experience. Arrived to find menus printed on A4 paper. The menu advertised online was cancelled. Pizzas were £18 so we though they must be good - that would be a price stretch for London, but as it was a stately home thought it must be good. But the Pizza was tasteless and looked awful. The service was sour, and slow. The pasta was expensive and crusty from being cooked ages ago but left under heating lamps. The service was slow because a group of people who offered burgers send the whole lot back, not sure what was going on there. Really this place needs to be closed down and refurbished and have new management. When ever someone mentions Luton Hoo to me I will forever this of a poor version of Wetherspoon’s It was a treat for our mum so didn’t make a fuss, but if she hadn’t been there would have been more vocal. And frankly when things are this bad what’s the point of blaming the wait staff - when there are obviously management issue that are at fault.

My boyfriend and I went to the Luton Hoo hotel to celebrate my birthday this weekend and it was amazing! We had reserved dinner at the brasserie and ended up getting lunch there before too. The burger was okay but the pizza was very poor, almost like it came out of a microwave. We thought the dinner must be better, it wasn’t. We ordered steak and fries and they were terrible, the chips had been fried in the same frier as the battered fish on the menu, and so they were extremely fishy. They were also soggy like they had been microwaved to be heated up. The steak was incredibly chewy and really hard to cut through. It did not taste great either. It did not help that the prices were extortionate for food that would have been better in Toby Carvary. The waitresses were great, however the manager refused to see us. When the waitress told him that we were unhappy and would like to talk to him we saw him shrug his shoulders and walk off. Terrible experience, however the waitress did get our food half price which was very good of her. We will never be eating there again.

Whilst I could not fault the food (Spatched chicken and the Burger, with the Mango cheesecake and Chocolate & Orange Tart for dessert) both were cooked well, and my Mum really enjoyed the chicken - the service was painfully, and shockingly slow. Sitting with empty plates in front of us for over 20mins (note, only four other tables were in, circa 14 guests - so the team of four were not exactly overwhelmed) with the manager walking past us four times (and noting we had plates sat there) but did not do anything about it; either asking a member of the team, or clearing it himself (which he eventually did). The team also seemed to enjoy conversations with what looked like regulars who play golf, vs looking after all guests in the room. I would say the service is a lot more attentive and genuine at a great gastro pub a stones throw away, The Fox. Safe to say I will not be back again.

I honestly cannot fault the staff they were very tentative, friendly and just great. The food however lacked sophistication for the price you pay. Looking around at what people had ordered when I arrived I felt I was in a Fuller's pub. This restaurants came google recommended as 'similar to' places I have been, such as Soho house and local restaurants near me, e.g The Orchard. The food was a far cry from those places and highly over priced. For my main I ordered the beef and macaroni which was really just a plate full of salt no taste of cheese and it looks like it was a easy to cook packet. There is so much potential for this place based on the location, sadly the food needs to level up and better choices for children. The evening menu had fewer choices than what was served at lunch time which also was highly disappointing. They had run out of chocolate brownies and the options for chocolate doughnuts was rather miserable that the children didn't even touch them. (they looked shop bought). Luckily I read the reviews before going so did not go with high expectations but expected better then the low mark I had set.

We were staying at the hotel half board, for which we paid nearly £400 per night. Morning one - went down for breakfast at 9am. Order taken 9.09 (know because checked later!). Tea and coffee brought to us - had to ask for cups. 10.20...

Arrived and there were children running around the restaurant screaming and playing sword games, staff ignoring as if it was acceptable, so decided to sit outside. Eventually the children moved outside so we went inside. Surprised at how dirty the place was - rubbish all...

Despite having read very mixed reviews of this venue, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, and booked for a family lunch. Sadly, the poorer reviews proved to be entirely accurate; the “welcome” was very off-hand and we were seated with a...

I was expecting a little more for a £12 sandwich...(ok in the photo my bf has taken 'A' bite out of one piece)... it came like it was made for a child accompanied by some stale crisps with a pinch of salad plonked on...bit sad really! The chips were ok but also overpriced at £6. The staff here are friendly but service was a bit slow... in all fairness to them a big group had arrived which I don't think they were expecting... however that's even more reason to not make people wait and suprise them with this poor effort of a sandwich which can be enhaled in a heartbeat. Luton Hoo itself is a magnificent place to visit if you're around here which is why im refraining from giving it 1 star. There's also a peacock wondering around which was entertaining and helped pass time whilst we were waiting for drinks and food to come.

Stayed at luton hoo, the food here was not as good as the stay. worst scallops I've ever eaten. Each scallop was cut into half, chorizo was too overpowering, and just look at all those unnecessary greens. Got the sunday roast and lobster roll for mains. The beef roast was ultra tough, the potatoes were just dry, not crispy, no nice flavours. Boiled carrots were served with the sunday roast - please use sweeter farmer market's carrots. Lobster roll sounds good on the menu but I'm sorry using Warburton's brioche buns would be 10x better. Lobsters were okay. The 'smoked chilli sauce' had no spice, no smoky taste, just sweet. Desserts were meh.

Terrible experience here for Saturday lunch, the most basic basic food, like a poor motorway service station at ridiculous prices. Would strongly discourage anyone from ever going here. We had a sandwich each which consists of a small amount of cheap meat (sliced ham or one piece of chicken, both tasting like from a packet) and some mustard in two pieces of regular pre packaged sliced bread which was stale, a few crisps and a handful of salad, for £11. It’s like what you’d make for a speedy sandwich at home, but with far less care. They did swap the bread for some different slices when we complained it was stale, but no apology. Total meal consisting of two of these sandwiches and drinks came to £72.38! Included the most expensive glass of orange and lemonade (£7.85) I’ve ever purchased, a glass of Prosecco, a bottle of sparkling water we didn’t ask for, and two very small and slightly off tasting coffees we risked at the end of the meal. The service was friendly and polite but disorganised and they really didn’t look like they wanted to be there or knew how to provide 5-star customer service. We were expecting to pay this amount for lunch, but for that we were expecting 5-star food and drink to match. You’d get a much better sandwich in Greggs. I hope they read this and improve the menu or at least the sandwiches, because the brasserie experience will put people off the main hotel (which we ate in for dinner and in stark contrast had a delicious quality experience). I will never go back there.

A great brasserie with covered heated outdoor seating or a beautiful interior with booths and tables. A great selection of well cooked dishes with fresh local produce, great flavours and decent portions. The steak was one of the next we've had and the spring chicken was outstanding. Leave room for dessert! Great selection of drinks, there was ample Champagne flowing and we were there on a Monday! Adam's is great for both a casual lunch or an indulgent group dinner. Some of the photos are of Room service dishes we had delivered including seared tuna and asparagus with parmesan.
