Café Rouge - Center Parcs Woburn Forest in Central Bedfordshire

Food was good, as always. Cafe rouge offer a varied menu, with good options. Plates are brought out on a automated trolley host, exciting for the kids. It's a large restaurant, with only 5 tables dining, it was very quiet.

There were 8 of us who came for breakfast and unfortunately we asked for lemon for the soup, but they brought me lemon peel. And one of our orders which was eggs was brought to us after the breakfast was over. I really do not recommend this restaurant to customers because of the higher cost than the quality provided.

Awful food. Supposed scrambled egg served on Sourdough bread was actually served with awful supermarket sliced white bread. Priced at over £10 this is basically one big rip off. Not recommended.

No sourdough bread only advised after ordering by waitress. When food arrived expected at least a decent bread substitute ended up with cheapest of cheap white scliced bread. Added Cumberland sausage to scrambled egg an awful sausage didn't even resemble a decent ordinary sausage!! CANCELLED our evening booking. If breakfast so dire wasn't going to risk evening meal. Taking our custom elsewhere

I've always been impressed when I've been to Café Rouge. Some very good French dishes. I highly recommend the French onion soup. The pinot noir is some of the best I've had. The service was very good. No complaints highly recommend.

went for our last dinner of the holiday, food was incredible and service even better. was seated quickly by cirsten who i assume was the manager and then served by maisie who was attentive but not too in your face. the garlic breads are definitely big enough to share so don’t get one each(we made that mistake) however they are very nice the poluet breton was perfect and so was my other half’s beef bourgionion. Don’t believe the bad reviews ! I had low expectations because of the Google rating but I was very much pleasantly surprised ! Halle took amazing care of us and was attentive and welcoming. Yummy food, something for everyone !

Hmmm I think that Cafe Rouge are very lucky their staff are so lovely because the food was a lottery. Our starters were ok. Tarte was lovely. The calamari was ok but over floured. The minute steak was a gristle and fat occasion which was unpleasant. The waitress was very attentive and comp’d us a chocolate fondant which turned out to be massively overcooked. Shame.

My family went today for a nice meal at Café Rouge and Macey made us feel like home, great service and was a delightful experience. Will recommend going. We will surely be back.

Average food experience! Extremely slow service due to being busy and a bit crowded! Got carton Orange juice instead of a fresh one (which was stated on the menu). Steak was average at the best!

Well it’s just not good. I’m sorry but it’s really poor. Seemed no effort was put into any of it. Maybe it was a one off, I’m sorry if so. But it was poor from start to finish. -freezing cold coffee -cold soup (gravy powder, a few onions, shop croutons and grated cheese) - overpriced -slow service, super slow, with lots of the team just standing about or having a dinner break. Hefty bill. Why should they get away with it when small businesses can’t?

Food was decent, service was great, but is quite expensive and no cheap options. If you are trying to eat out at centre parcs on a budget it’s hard and this is not the option.

The food and service was all great. It was a bit of shame we were surrounded for the entire time by dirty tables. Pity.

Went for a lunch, sat outside to enjoy the British weather as well. Food was not amazing but good. Had soup, garlic bread, beef, salad and mac and cheese. The French onion soup was not favourite I must say. Mac and cheese was good but it think it would be better without the bread crumbs on top, personal taste. Service was quite attentive.

Very blant, boring and slightly overpriced

Went here on our last night at center parcs and ended up with food poisoning 2 hours after eating here, this was the only meal I had different from the rest of our party throughout our stay so it must have been the food here, it's made me incredibly ill!

Service soooo bad that is amazing that people are still sitting in. We waitied more than 1h for food. Steak was over done. Instead of so 1.5h lunch it took 3h

Absolutely awful, we went for lunch at 1230. Ordered a starter and a main. We finally got our main meal at 2.30. It somehow took 30 mins to cobble together 3 balls of ice cream for the kids pudding. The food was dry and salty. Definitely try one of then other restaurants in the parc. Also some items on the menu missing ingredients, such as no bacon, and no crispy onions.

Smallest, driest, most miserable French toast I've ever had, not great when you can easily make it better yourself, why eat out. Others at our table were denied changing what they wanted on the English breakfast. Coffee tastes like water, all in all pretty shocking...

Poor service. Drinks left on bar without anyone picking up resulting in us having to ask (twice). Some food turned up cold, some baking hot/burnt. General standard of food was average for the prices charged.

Lovely friendly staff and great food too

Came for afternoon tea at 3pm. Very quiet which was fine. Waitress was quick to take our order. Unfortunately after being asked for dietary requirements (I'm pregnant) they had no decaf tea available and it took a while for the waitress to say they had decaf coffee. The afternoon tea was a bit rubbish. The toasties that come out instead of sandwiches are good and probably the best bit. . The cake selection was just different sponges (one almond one chocolate and one with candied fruit peel in) and really disappointing for an afternoon tea. You get one scone each. They were a bit burnt but taste OK. You get plenty of cream but hardly any jam. We were not offered any other drinks while eating and the plates were not cleared away even after we had paid.

Best restaurant in center Parcs by far now. The other seem to have all gone massively downhill. Rouge has all the favourites, good quality and good service. Only issue is everyone else has worked out this in best place to east so it is very busy.

Staffs were friendly and smiley. Food comes relatively quickly considering it’s the busy season. Fries/ sweet potatoes were crunchy, steaks were ok, burger was a bit small, approx. £35-40 pp.

Probably the best restaurant at Center Parc Woburn but it's a pretty low bar. Service and staff good.

Amazing restaurant. Food was amazing, the service was good and the atmosphere was great. As someone who’s visited Paris a few times it really reminded me of Paris. I recommend the Camembert and Truffle burger, it was amazing.

Don’t normally write reviews but we walked in at 11am and told us after we sat down that they had no eggs when we went for breakfast/brunch and over half the menu items have eggs so didn’t leave alot of choice. Some people up and left because of this. Could they not just go and get some more eggs from the shop? Our food came out and extra bacon was forgot about and had to remind them, one of our meals did not come out and had to ask. The black pudding was burnt and crunchy like burnt toast. You could not excuse this as there was only 5 tables of people there so it’s not like it was super busy. Would not recommend.

Disappointing faux French food. Every French restaurant I have ever visited puts complimentary bread on the table. Cafe Rouge does not. I ordered French Onion soup, followed by confit duck with sauté potatoes and spinach. The onion soup was not bad but lacked the rich melted cheese you get on the genuine article. The duck itself was OK but the sauté potatoes were boiled not sautéd . The helping of spinach provided was extremely small. About enough to fill a teaspoon. The Eleve wine was quite decent. I chose the food options most likely to be found in a genuine French restaurant. Many of the options are actually burgers and pies etc that you will find in a thousand pubs across the country. Of course if you are a Center Parcs resident then you are a captive customer. Out in the High Streets I would avoid Cafe Rouge if you are looking for a French food experience. This is a chain run by accountants providing a poor facsimile of a great gastronomic tradition.

Went in for breakfast, had really nice English breakfast, all very well cooked. Staff were great. And prices as expected. Well recommended.

A lovely « Cafe Rouge » well decorated with tasty meals (not quiet the level of the average French restaurant but this is true of all Cafe Rouge tbh). The service is really friendly and efficient. We had a good time there and really enjoyed it as part of our Centerparcs holiday.

Oh my Cafe Rouge, how you have gone downhill.... Up until now this has been a bit of an annual ritual for my family with great food and a nice atmosphere. For a start the restaurant is mostly empty. Ants were marching along the table during the meal. The food was "meh" and somewhat overcooked. They had no draught beer and ran out of bottled beer (all they could offer beer-wise was gluten free). Just no, I do not recommend this at all anymore - avoid at all costs.

Yummy food. Chicken options are halal. The service was super slow.

We served by a very nice gentleman, Kevin was very good and interacted with my children too!

First time using Cafe Rouge and we were really impressed. Alice was attentive helpful and kept popping by to make sure everything was going well with our evening. Food was to a very high standard for a chain restaurant and our steaks were both cooked as requested medium rare. They even have a little play corner which kept our toddler amused while waiting for our food which was also served in a timely manner. Out of all the restaurants in Woburn Centre Parcs this is the best tried and tested. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Mya was excellent and made us feel welcome. Shame she will be leaving at the end of this season.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews and I don't believe in being negative just to have a rant but I'm hoping this will move things to improve customer service and happier staff. I had the burger and my wife had the steak. The fries were thinner than wafer and the burger no bigger than a mcdonalds quarter pounder. £15.95 for that. Then my wife had the steak for a similar price and it was tiny with absolutely no salad to go with it. Had to pay an extra £2 for any sauce though. Staff seemed very stretched as they seemed to completely forget about us once the food was served. Don't get me wrong if it was in a cheap place I wouldn't have complained but this is Good money we're talking and we've had better customer service at a fast food restaurant. One star for the fact that the beef in the tiny burger was decent quality. We've never asked for the optional service charge to be taken off until coming here. Just woeful. Management - please do better. Thanks

Worst food I have ever eaten, there was 6 of us and we all agreed. Dried out microwaved s**t. This was at Centre Parcs Woburn. Stay away! On a positive note, the service was great 😁

Staff were attentive and friendly but the food was AWFUL! Chips were lukewarm and stale, chicken was dry. Toilets were absolutely filthy too. So disappointing.

I’ve given 1 star for the service which was fine, smiley and friendly, if not a little slow. We waited an hour for our main, which is a long time with a toddler! That said it was a Sunday night at centre parcs, so we didn’t complain about the timing. The food, on the other hand, was really bad. Nobody enjoyed their meal at all. Everything was over cooked, even the chicken nuggets and fries from the children’s menu were dry and tough. The mac and cheese had no cheese in it and was completely flavourless, just overcooked pasta in white sauce. The truffle burger was more over cooked than your average bad UK BBQ burger, it was so tough you could hardly get a knife through it. I asked for a replacement, which arrived hotter but just as over cooked. The half roast chicken and chips came with no veg at all and the chips were lukewarm and chewy. It was nice to get out with the family, but everything on the menu was a huge waste of money and we wished we’d bought a meal from the Parc Market and ate at the lodge instead.

Absolutely awful, took over an hour to get our food (family with 2 small kids), the truffle burger was overcooked and burnt, green beans poorly microwaved and the beef bourguingon contained mostly fatty chewy parts, the staff were slow and un-attentive. Would never go back here, save your time and money.

Lovely experience. Staff were super friendly, excellent portion sizes especially for the quality of the food. The mussels were delicious! The staff were super attentive and friendly. The only reason I give a 4 start rating is that the children's macaroni cheese was not good at all, creamy and flavourless. The staff did bring us a massive ramekin of freshly shaved parmesan cheese which transformed the dish. Not the cheapest but who cares, we're on holiday!

Lovely place to eat at any time of day, with a real French ambience. Food reasonably priced although, as with all restaurants, bottles of wine may be expensive. Very friendly (English speaking!) staff.

Very confusing when trying to order our drinks as to what was available and what wasn't ! Service was good after initial confusion, all our food arrived promptly and was lovely. Unfortunately only two out of four coffees arrived as the waitress had to run to the nearest restaurant as cafe rouge had run out of milk!!! Well done "Serena" for remaining calm, polite and apologetic for half our parties wait, not so well done to whoever places the order for milk 😱🙄

The waiting staff were absolutely lovely and very attentive, but the food wasn’t great at all and very overpriced. Our starters were cold & we sent our mains back and left without having a main meal. There was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. The kids meals looked like microwave meals and were tasteless. Would not go back again.

We were greeted warmly by management, and taken to our table. Our waitress was Sienna and from the start she was very polite and helpful. She was happy to serve us and definitely went the extra mile for us. It’s been a while since we’ve received such lovely customer service. She was smiling, friendly and lovely to speak to. Working in customer service myself I know how hard it can be but can safely say Sienna was a breath of fresh air. She is definitely an asset to this restaurant! The food was nice but it was really the service that made our night!

Ate breakfast here last week on out first day at Center Parcs, was not busy so was a good time to eat and we didn't need to book. There isn't loads of choice on the menu for breakfast, particularly for kids, but mist if us had a full English which was nice. Service was quick and good.

Menu is varied and good selection for kids. Priced fair for what you got. We dined here twice whilst on holiday for a week at Centre Parcs. My main meal was a chicken and mushroom dish and did not have any mushrooms on it at all! Staff were a bit stand offish and unwelcoming. Not very attentive and service was slow. It wasn't busy when we dined but drinks took a long time to arrive. We have booked to return to Centre Parcs but sadly will be giving Café Rouge a miss next time.

Avoid at all costs if you have allergies. The staff know what they are doing and thankfully are more knowledgeable about the ingredients that are in the dishes than the allergy menu.... Ended up having our entire Christmas meal refunded. Center Parcs need to kick these guys out and replace with a better chain.

Awfully slow service, breakfast took almost an hour to serve. When the food came out the beans were cold, hash browns were cold, sausages tasted like play dough. There we no staff to be seen out serving very frequently and they forgot to take the order of 2 people from my family. All around hectic, painful experience

I enjoyed my meal here. Staff were friendly and the steak was pretty decent. They were very accommodating to my gluten free requests. Overall a pleasant night out.

Staff did all they could to make the experience really enjoyable. Really well trained when it comes to allergies and great comms on options. Food was delicious, I can't say if this is now the new norm for Cafe Rouge, but this restaurant was a big step up from what I remember years back, well done! Would definitely revisit!

Our whole breakfast was terrible. Sausages seemed boiled, scrambled eggs looked like a dogs dinner, our toast was as hard as bathroom tiles. If you want nice basic food AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!

Fantastic service with friendly and helpful staff. Menu is trying too hard and the food variety was just to wide to be really good. Basically it was all average. Nothing special and it was pretty expensive. Almost £700 for 16 people. I can't recommend it. There are better restaurants in the resort. C

Clean establishment, polite staff, ordered breakfast... enjoyable, filling..!!

The yoke of the eggs were hard. Grand breakfast did not have bacon on. Tomatoes wasn't grilled. The beans was cold. The coffee was warm.

Adequate. Hate leaving poor reviews, so let’s say the service was good, but the food is pretty basic. Only dropped in for the breakfast and everything was fairly low quality. Could’ve been a breakfast from a well known, cheap pub chain - but at twice the cost. Doesn’t surprise me that our local Cafe Rouge closed down over lockdown. Wouldn’t return.

Fantastic staff - awful management. Waited nearly an hour for very mediocre meals to be served. The restaurant was less than half full so I cannot understand the hold up. The waiting staff were very friendly and working hard under what appeared to be poor management who appeared more concerned in horse play with other colleagues than the logistical nature of running a restaurant.
