Just going to walk out of one of the busiest bars I've been to in a long while, Food, service and setting is outstanding. Relaxed, refreshed and vibrant. All on a Tuesday night, it's working and great.

We go to Wepre Bar & Grill (was GT’s) quite regularly, now the new owners have refurbished and re-opened it. The ambience is great. The food is delicious, staff and service are great. Nothing is too much trouble. Just a couple of slight problems, Baked Alaska is only meant to have vanilla ice cream (no raspberry, choc, etc, please 🙏🏼 ), and maybe add apple pie to the menu, or is it that just me? 😉 See you Saturday!

Awful service . No one but kids running the place. Awful dried up cavery. Will definatley not be returning.

Food average, service poor, not asked would we you like a desert menu, not asked would you like any more drinks, lost orders £35-£40. Only two groups dinning.

I went to a party on Saturday and met up with old friends. The night was going lovely, a very very nice young man behind the bar deserves a service star award for being so polite and friendly and keeping us supplied with drinks until quite early they ran out of JD, Then they ran out of Vodka so went on Bacardi then they ran out of that, what a shambles. Surely the manager shoulld make sure there's a stock, at least one bottle back up of spirits especially when a private party has been booked. Just to finish the night I trapped my fingers in the ladies toilet door and have been told this has happened more than once, the door being very heavy and dangerous . Wont be going back any time soon.

We just popped in when out dog walking, had a few drinks decided to eat our tea there, I had the most amazing salt and pepper chicken on a bed of rice with homemade chunky chips was absolutely delicious 😋 👌 😍

visited bank holiday weekend whilst at the Alpaca farm and must say not a big fan of carvery restaurants and always a bit carful about visiting local restaurants out of city. Must say i have now found a carvery that cooks an actual roast with flavor, presentation and cooked to perfection, the chef was very engaging and pleasant and made us feel at ease, really nice chap and a credit to the business.

We decided to take our puppy for a walk stopped at GT's for refreshments the staff were great very dog friendly

Warm and welcoming greeting, friendly service from start to finish. Delicious food and it didn’t take long from ordering to eating.

Excellent pizzas on our table and judging by comments heard in others the pasta dishes were also excellent. Great to see GTs open and running again and the themed food nights look like a great idea!

We’ve visited the restaurant twice recently for their Rump &Red on a Wednesday- just £24.99 for two people. Wonderfully cooked and served both times, juicy steak, chunky chips, tomato, mushroom & onion rings washed down with Australian Shiraz. Definitely returning for more. Also our daughter went for the Sunday carvery and couldn’t praise the home cooked food and variety enough. will be trying other menu items too. Great staff and service with affordable prices, totally recommended,

Hi GT Team.. I just wanted to feed back our experience of Saturday evening dining. Called in with daughters special request for Fajita treat and being a vegetarian, didn't see anything I fancied in the veggie options. Waitress spoke to a young lady Chef who came and had a chat, asked about things I might like.. and although not on the menu arranged to make me an egg salad, even coming back to ask about salad dressing options. I was so impressed...!! I'd like to thank Chef VERY MUCH for this service and attention. We both enjoyed our visit and meal very much.. I didn't get the chefs name as the restaurant part was starting to get busy and waitresses were a bit stretched. I left a tip so hope they're shared with kitchen staff. And a personal THANK YOU to Chef for making our visit.. 💖 10/10 highly recommended.. thank you Chef 😊

Great place to visit, staff very friendly giving great service at a high standard, the restaurant has a nice warm feel to it great atmosphere to have a meal in. The food was outstanding, it was presented in an amazing way and tasted absolutely amazing.

Went on Saturday evening with our two teenage kids for a meal as we had heard the new chefs food was amazing. We were not dispointed. All had starters and mains. Portions were so large we couldn't finish our mains. Steaks cooked well and very tasty. Burger came with two very tasty parties. Staff were very helpful and friendly, chef even came to say hello when we were finished eating. We had an enjoyable and relaxed evening. Thankyou GT's.

I booked here for a double birthday celebration after my previous visit was nice. Wow did things change in 3 weeks! We were asked to provide our meal choices four days before our visit as we were a party of 10. I was asked to go on their website, look at the menu and email over everyone's meal options, which I did. I received a confirmation email that they had been received. We arrived four days later and were given meals that were not ordered. We asked for the correct meals and were told that we had ordered off the old menu (only menu online so I don't know how) and told that the chef had cooked these meals instead (without being asked if they were ok)! The meals cooked instead were not suitable, giving people spicy food who can't eat spice! One of the meals came out 20 minutes after the rest and after asking where it was, we were told there wasn't enough room in the kitchen to cook it! When it did arrive it was cold!! The sauce for one of the steaks arrived 30 minutes after the steak (even after asking for it twice). This was awful and not one apology given. I also emailed asking for an explanation as to why we were weren't given the option to pick alternative meals if what we had emailed over was "from the wrong menu" but received no reply that's why I'm writing a review so people know how bad they now are!

Came here for Sunday lunch. Waiting on Staff are very attentive. Chefs are so friendly and are non stop. Carvery was wonderful fresh and hot and Yorkshires Wow filled the plate. Really impressed with the chefs serving you there wonderful home cooked food. They got that busy the manager came down to help with the rush on her day off. Great team effort. Would recommend 👌

Visited Xmas Eve for a Birthday meal. We pre ordered. Drinks orders were taken promptly and we wondered if we should let the, know we had pre ordered. Needn’t of worried, all starters arrived shortly thereafter, all piping hot and very tasty.... mains followed and all food was exceptional and plentiful.We were really impressed with the whole team and would happily return. Went today with the family for a carvery, food was excellent. Lots of choice. Kitchen staff took the time to pop out and ask if anything could be improved. Looking forward to going back again over Christmas. My little boy loved the chocolate fudge cake.

I booked a 3 course Christmas meal for 22 people and the whole experience could not have run more smoothly. The chef added additional menu choices to the standard Xmas Fayre menu as several members of our party are vegan, one was wheat and dairy intolerant and we also required some gluten free dishes. Jo the assistant manager kept everything on track with prompt communication before the event. When we arrived, everyone was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. There was a great party atmosphere with Christmas music playing and all of the staff were friendly and happy. The food was superb, and everyone was blown away with the presentation, freshness, quality, taste and the amount of food we were served. Excellent value for money! I cannot fault them at all.

Myself and my partner visited GT’s today for a Sunday carvery. All the staff we encountered were exceptional as was the food, however, the table we had could have done with a good clean with hot soapy water, I did not want to touch it as it was so sticky, not helped as there were no beer mats.

Myself & my husband have been going to GT's for over 3 years & were always pleased with the food/drinks/service, however, when I received an email telling me that they now had a "new menu" we were quite excited to try something different from the "old menu", when we arrived & were given the "new menu" can you imagine our surprise to see that the "new menu" was still the same apart from the prices had gone up by a considerable amount, i.e.

It was OK. My mixed grill came out rare after I had asked for very well done. Blood on plate put me off my food. Staff rectified the issue by giving me a new meal. But I couldn't eat it. So they boxed it up and I brought it home for the dogs. They enjoyed it. The rest of the party enjoyed their food. Staff were really nice and helpful.

Best Carvery in the area by the mile. Dont waste your time going The Running Hare. Veg is always fresh. Meat succulent. Homemade Cauliflower Cheese and crushed potatoes are fantastic. Value for money

We visited this restaurant after a long walk at around 1.30pm with our 1 year old daughter on Saturday 14-September-2019. We checked the opening times in their website prior to our visit which says the food service starts at 12pm on Saturday.

Came here for tea today with my boyfriend and 11 year old and 2 year old. The food as always is fantastic and also great portion sizes too. As it was my birthday yesterday and we wanted to go for a meal and drinks I decided to give Gts bar and grill a try.

We called in without booking, with only half an hour left of food service time left, on the off chance our party of 5 could eat. We we’re welcomed warmly and served speedily with a lovely friendly staff member. My husband was reluctant to come as he had been before when it was under different owners and name, however we will definitely be coming back! The portions were large, the food delicious and the gluten free choice was extensive. The staff were very knowledgeable about gluten containing food and very helpful. What a great place to have locally and it’s right by Wepre Park so handy to pop into before or after a walk too.

Visited with friends after booking over the phone to be told by a surly waitress when we walked in “we aren’t serving food now” ! When I said we had booked she looked & couldn’t find the booking, however strangely there was a table reserved for 8pm for 4 ! The manager told the waitress to sit us down & she took our drinks order, when she came back with the drinks she asked if we were ready to order, we asked for a few more minutes, that was the last we saw of her ! I had to go and find someone to take our order at 8.30pm & it wasn’t taken until 8.45pm by a very apologetic young man, food arrived promptly & was very good, I appreciate it was busy but customer service needs polishing up I think

We have recently bought a house fairly nearby but every time we pass the place looks a little distant and empty. Don't let that put you off. Although curiosity killed the cat it hasn't killed me just yet.

I have been to the Sunday carvery two weeks in a row, last week very busy this week, quieter. But same great service. lovely staff and Cain and Joe the chefs were lovely and so helpful. Great local pub, will be back again

Come here for drinks regular but not necessarily food. Have eaten here in the past and been disappointed but it’s changed hands now.

We have lived 5 mins walk away from this Pub for about 19 years and always wanted it to be a success but it has had a hit and miss past briefly being very successful as the Palomino but then reverted to type. When the new owners took over we were hopeful but with a poor launch awful marketing combined with poor reviews we didn't visit. Then with recent good reviews we thought we would give a chance on their steak night - 2 steaks bottle of wine £23.00. It was very good, helpful waitress too. Starters of nachos and garlic mushrooms followed by the steaks - excellent quality and cooked exactly as we asked. Good potions and we struggled to finish - decent choices of wine too. Female Manger was very pleasant too. Dont think about visiting the bar as it looks like it is from a 70's city pub. And not a good one - and why not 1 real ale? The restaurant side very much improved and we will be back and deserve the good reviews.

Visited 12 th May for a birthday celebration lunch. Had 2 with dietary annoyances, and were very well looked after by the chef, who made time to explain what was safe and what to avoid from the carvery. And all at a very reasonable price.Highly recommend for service and value

Great service from staff. With a vegetarian and a dairy intolerant people in our group it was great that the chef found time to speak to us. Came for the carvery on a Sunday was pretty disappointed as we had heard good things. The service was terrible, might as well of been self service! Took ages for our order to be taken, starters were ok but our table wasnt cleared and we had to put the used plates on a table next to us so we could go and get out carvery.

This place is on my street. It changed hands and theme a few times before becoming GTs and I drifted away, but went for a meal today and impressed. Food fresh and fabulous, friendly service, good value for high quality. We'll be visiting regularly now I feel.

The staff were pleasant and friendly, the steak was cooked to our request medium rare but the quality was not great. In fact quality not good summaries the food. The wine was ok.

Been several times to this bar/restaurant and always have had good food, although drinks can be a little expensive. Staff are friendly and do their best to ensure your meal is what you wanted - so fussy eaters can rest assured that they get what they desire.

Visited here with relatives recently and the food and service was excellent. We were a bit worried as we had family who are Vegans and vegetarians. We asked the waiter what the options were and next minute Joe the chef was at our table explaining all the options available. Having been to many bar/restaurants it was nice to see such a professional chef who clearly had a huge passion for cooking and a desire to cook everything from fresh. The food was fantastic and with family having come all the way from Australia it turned out to be an excellent choice. Thanks Joe and all the team for making our evening so special

Had nice scampi and chips and halloumi burger. Everything well cooked and v reasonably priced. Friendly, efficient staff.

Great food, individuals meals big portions and carvery beautiful can get busy and would recommend booking if your in a group.

I came here with a man I was supporting, there was nothing on the menu he could eat so asked if something could be cooked for him, nothing was to much trouble the staff were so friendly and accommodating I would highly recommended this place xx

Must be the friendliest pub in the uk. Everyone from manager to chef makes you feel really welcome. Portions are HUGE and very good value.

I went with 17 others for the Christmas meal,Foos was very nice,My one moan was All of us got our main dish,And then the veg started to arrive meaning you had either eaten half the meat and potatoes before the veg arrived,or waited,and the meat had got cold,Only my thought if say 4 mains were bought out then veg ect it would have been kept warmer longer,also we all seemed to get our sweets,but then had to ask for a spoon,It's not a moan as I say food was very good

I had a meal here last week with my family for my birthday. I had been previously with friends and had a lovely meal, so decided to take the family. We were not disappointed. The meal was fantastic and the staff were brilliant, especially the manger. Nothing was to much trouble for him. We will definitely be coming back again.

Having eaten here several times I have found the food to be excellent, especially the Sunday carvery and the service is friendly and very good. I would go back here anytime

Visited GT’s Bar and Grill on Thursday 20/12/2018, this was my second time in a couple of weeks, and both times have been wonderful. The food was excellent and ample to fill the biggest of appetites, I was eating and my plate never seemed to empty. Had the 3 course Christmas meal, and there were many different dishes to choose from on each part of the course. The food was fresh and the meat was cooked extremely well and above all the plate arrived hot and the dish of vegetables to accompany it was hot too. Well done to the chef Joe Gunner for the the best meal out with a friend in a long time. Also like to thank the staff, Lydia who was polite and checked our meals to satisfaction within the time scale, this being done where so many eateries fail. Thank you also to Gareth Keirl, who not only gave good and informative information on each dish, helping with our decision and making it all a wonderful meal, he was extremely polite and was able to chat to us about the place. I can’t mark this high enough, and it far exceeds some restaurants that I’ve been and paid high prices for poor quality food and a scant and totally inadequate service. I highly recommend you give this place a try, and enjoy a good meal at very cheap prices. There’s also a Sunday Carvery, which I will try in the weeks to come. Booked a table for 12.30 for 5 on arrival the table was ready service was excellent the 2 people that were hosting a tall blond lady dressed in black and a very chatty guy in a waistcoat were great the food was ok and good value I would recommend for a good Sunday lunch with great family friendly service.

Attended GT's as a works night out. Brilliant all round. Great food, great entertainment, great prices. 5 stars👍. Gaz was a brilliant worker keeping everything running smoothly also.

I called up in the early evening and was told that they don't serve food on Mondays, very strange and dissappointing

Outstanding carvery with delightful staff. Jo the manager was a delight.The Carvery was the best I've ever eaten ( yes really !!) The meat tender, the veg fresh and great service and ambiance.

I have eaten at GT's many times and the good is always superb, but our visit on 22/11/18 was brilliant and that was due to Gaz he was excellent, funny, good banter with the children and adults and very attentive.

amazing food, i had a chefs beef chilli with chips and rice, my mum had a GT’s Steak burger with stilton cheese, food was made quickly, service was amazing! Well done everyone!❤️
