Ordered a flat white it came in a takeout cup which was on 1 quarter full, I myself am a barista so questioned this to which she replied it's just a half a latte a flat white. I could have gone in to a bar and got a shot of vodka that was bigger and cheaper. Server was extremely rude when I said I would like the appropriate sized flat white. Maybe train your staff how to make coffees the correct way.

We came here twice because we liked it a lot. It is by far the best coffee in the area. The bakewell tart was delicious, and the carrot cake was even more delicious with proper cream cheese icing. We also had pancakes one day, and venison stew. All the food was excellent. It isn't the very chapest option, but £14 for a big plate of stew with quality meat is not outrageous in my opinion. The service was lovely and the surroundings were pretty and vibrant. It was also warm, and had free wi-fi.

Called in advance to ask if they were still serving food (this was around 3:15pm) and they told us yes. We got there only to find out they meant sandwich’s only. We weren’t given a sandwich menu after we sat down, so we had to ask what they had. We ordered two sandwiches from a poor selection, which set us back £16.50. It was a below average sandwich with a few crisps. It also took 15 to 20 minutes to arrive and it was basically empty. Very overpriced and staff uninterested. Use to be nice when I visited a few years back but it’s not quite the same anymore.

Went for lunch today, lovely atmosphere but we waited a long time to be served. What wasn't clear was the different food menus, we got the chicken shwarma and yes it was tasty but the portion size was small. The big kicker was paying 16.50 for it! Then menu that was given to us by the server said £10 so when we questioned it we were told its the kids menu. No where did it say it was the kids menu, god knows what the kids size would be for 10!

Overall our stay at Hawarden was lovely. We camped for 2 nights in a bell tent in August and although the facilities and surroundings are great we felt the camping set up was pretty basic for £75 per night. The website only shows photos of the outside and we were expecting it to be a bit cosier having stayed in similar places before for the same price. We ate at the farm shop restaurant both nights and it had a great atmosphere. The farm shop was lovely, the food and service not so much, I'm all for paying for quality but this was not quality, £12.50 for breakfast is fine if it's exceptional, the sourdough toast I couldn't fault but at approximately £2 per item and to be given a broken egg, admittedly the server was young and probably didn't challenge this at the point of plating but that's not acceptable at the premium end of the price range, by the time the plate returned with a fresh egg, the rest of the breakfast was lukewarm. Our other choice was the buckwheat pancakes with fruit and coconut yoghurt, my partner doesn't particularly care for coconut and politely enquired if an alternative yoghurt was available, the young server said no but we could have it without, I asked if the farm shop sold yoghurt? She didn't know, I had to find the item myself and purchase the blackcurrant flavour as an extra item. Surely this could be offered? Even at extra cost, like I said I don't mind paying for quality, sadly the whole breakfast experience was a let down, even the microscopic flat white was tepid and £1 a mouthful. Avoid..........

Café: Excellent food especially the fantastic pastries from the in-house bakery, but the range of dishes available to eat is fairly limited, overly ostentatious and expensive. The outdoor seating area is blighted by smokey fire pits - billowing swirling smoke around the otherwise comfortable and attractive covered area creating a nuisance, and leaving a film of ash on seats. There are electric heaters present so why go to the trouble of making it seem more rustic when it actually has a negative impact on the air quality.

Last time we went there we ordered 2 Hawarden Sausage Sandwiches asking for the extra £1 on both sandwiches for the fried egg. After waiting nearly 20 min, both sandwiches came out with no eggs. We had to struggle to finally get the attention of someone to have the eggs coming. But another mistake, only 1 egg came out. No apology, no compensation, no customer service basically. Today we decided to go back. Bedsides the fact the croissant took ages to arrive as the baby was starving, again, our order got messed up: we ordered the same thing but this time they confused our sausages with BACON. We sent the sandwiches back. A staff member tried to reassure us the sandwiches would be ready in minutes and they did. But the sourdough was not toasted this time, not crunchy at all and they used the same eggs of the first sandwiches as they came out cold. Again, sorry if I repeat myself: No apology, no compensation, no customer service basically. They can't take an order properly (or the kitchen can't read it), they don't fix the problem, the issues continue even after the first mistake and they don't recover you or take care of you. Today was officially our last time here.

Feeling robbed!! We used to visit the cafe here pre covid for breakfast and was never dissapointed. What happened?! I reluctantly ordered a full breakfast for £12 after asking how many sausages it came with as the menu just said "sausage" on the menu. I jokingly said to my partner, "watch them be chipolata....they actually were. First of all it came on a side plate, I honestly thought I'd been served a child's breakfast. I'm no cheapskate but I at least expected a couple of meaty thick sausages for the Price they were charging. They don't charge £12 for a full breakfast in service stations. I've had much nicer, bigger breakfast for a lot less. They need to remember they're a farm shop in Hawarden, not a posh eatery in the Cotswolds. I don't know any farmers that would be happy being served that for his breakfast before a hard day's graft. Very pompous! My partner's cheese and ham toastie came without the ham, the ham was knocked off the bill but definitely won't be going back

I am not one to moan but I was really disappointed with my trip here recently. I came here with my mum, partner and young son to get some pumpkins and have a drink - we were all really excited. On entry to the farm shop cafe, there was chaos despite it being relatively empty in the cafe. There were no clear signs about where to queue, where to pay, where to collect food/drinks or what to do if you wanted to takeout rather than eat in. We wanted to takeout so my partner waited in the queue (which was not signposted) to order food and drinks. He ordered 3 hot drinks, a scone a pastry and a hot sandwich. All food items were to be collected individually from different areas of the cafe and all at extraordinarily different times. Whilst we waited, my son, my mum and I sat at a table as the cafe tables were completely empty. My partner collected the scone which on the menu stated it came with jam and cream, however when we opened the box, it didn't have any jam or cream. So I politely asked the person who I can only assume to be the manager on the day (dressed in normal clothes with no uniform/badge/sign of working there) who told me 'your partner ordered takeaway and you don't get jam and cream with the takeaway scone'. This was not mentioned by staff or the menu. Eventually after having to argue my case, she wandered off without any care and got some jam and cream before dumping it on the table without a word. By this point we had probably waited nearly 15 mins for 3 drinks, when there was no queue. I waited in the queue for the drinks so that my partner could eat his food before it got cold. Eventually I heard the 'manager' walk past me and say to another staff member (in an apron) 'Im dealing with table 6, don't worry'. I am pretty sure she didn't realise I was standing right behind her, as she walked over to my mum and told her 'You need to leave because you have asked for takeaway and we need this table'. Yet, still, there were plenty of available tables. I went over to explain that actually we were still waiting on our drinks, to which she tried to argue against before wandering off and muttering behind the coffee machine to other staff members. Another 5 minutes later I got 2 drinks before having to remind them that I had actually ordered 3. All in all, I was really disgusted by the 'customer service' of this one in particular 'manager'. Rude, obnoxious and unapologetic for their mistakes/confusion. Having worked with people in my job for years, including waiting on tables, I know how important customer service and people skills are in order to have a 'good experience'. I personally would be really disappointed to know that one of my colleagues/seniors/employees behaved so appallingly to paying customers. The farm shop and other staff members were lovely though with some great gift ideas.

We went for the live music, which is free. They give free marshmallows for the kids to toast which is nice. They sell beer and pizza but prices are a little over the top. £5.50 for a small beer, £10 for a 10 inch pizza. The pizzas I saw also looked burned. The wife and friends had coffees for £3 each, which they said were small (half a paper cup) and also tasted pretty awful. It was a good night but prices could be a bit more family/price friendly.

First time ever taking our Labrador camping with us and the facilities were perfect. Would’ve liked more space between tents due to him being a little nervous of noises at night but apart from that we are very satisfied. The tents have loads of room,...

relaxed garden environment - but we wish we had sent the coffee back (it was tepid at best) and not a venue where you expect to pay £3.15 a cup. We are local but will not be back.

Lovely set up great service. Couple of observations.... Coffee is motorway prices. Soya latte: £3.75! If you order a snack with your drink there's a long wait between coffee arriving and snack

We have just got home from a 3 night glamping stay in the bell tents. The campsite itself was lovely and peaceful with not to many people there at once. The teenage children loved the woods and snug areas and the fire outside the bell...

Lovely place, very busy, excellent quality, but that comes at a price. I asked for a bacon sandwich from the menu, but the young lady waiting on told me that it was too late. I pointed out that there was no time limits on the menu intact the times shown for ordering from the menu included time. Her reply was that, " they get funny " that they where now doing full breakfasts l asked her to ask who ever she needed to as that was all I wanted with a hot drink she came back a minute later and said yes OK. I felt l was being pushed towards buying a full breakfsdt

Lovely interiors, menu and farm shop. The only thing that let it down was slow service. They were very friendly but needed to be prompted by us for menus, ordering and getting the bill etc. But once everything did arrive it was exceptional!
