A great place for a friends and family gathering. The restaurant was spacious enough to fit a large group of us and the atmosphere is lovely. Service was great and staff were really accommodating and friendly. Food was delicious. Would definitely recommend! Can't wait to go again.

If anyone who is looking for a halal hotpot place to eat then look no furhter. One of the best hotpot places I have been to. The meat quality is top notch. We ordered the meat platter and 3 broths (Papaya & Tomato soup, spicy Bone marrow broth & Old hen golden chicken broth) spicy chicken Wonton dumplings. Hand made noodles Would recommend this place

Wanted to find a halal Chinese, came here after a quick google came here. We just wanted a normal Chinese, we didn’t realise until the food came out that it was raw meat and we had to cook it ourselves. We ordered lamb and steak (expecting cooked) and after we cooked it ourselves it all tasted the same anyway. Wafer thin slices that when cooked boil down to nothing. The rice and soup was nice but after spending £70 we left feeling deflated and a little queasy to be honest. If it was explained to us we was going to be given raw meat and cook it ourselves we wouldn’t of gone

Authentic hot pot, this is my first hot pot experience and totally loved it. Thanks to the team for making it very memorable and showing me exactly ‘how to’ hot-pot :)

Went here for dinner a few nights ago , atmosphere was lovely , and staff was so friendly :D it was my first hotpot experience, and I really enjoyed it, the restaurant itself is quite nice ~ it’s not too loud either, which I appreciated , definitely recommend going here ! Even if it’s just once to try 🌷🍲🥘~

This is a rare experience to find halal, it's great that's it's available in Birmingham. It is quite expensive, but definitely something worth while for the price. Authentic tasting delicious food. I recommend coming in a larger group as the price scales with cost favourably and you can try a mix of things. Will definitely be back.

this is maybe my fourth or fifth time coming here and the service is simply excellent. the food was absolutely phenomenal i loved it sm! definitely try out the prawn paste and the teokks. gorgeous ambience, excellent service, yummy and actually halal options. worth it with a bigger group regarding price point (easier split), although a lot of food is provided for the cost. they also let us take a free polaroid and they had YUMMY non-brand cola in support of palestine. love love love could not have better things to say. (just got to the bathrooms and they have free sanitary supplies and also the bathrooms are cute and clean!)

We had a pleasant dining experience here. They offered a variety of fresh ingredients like meats, vegetables and noodles to dip and cook in the broth. Most of the meats are also halal! We ordered the golden soup which was flavoursome and hearty. Definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere with halal options.

I had an excellent experience. I had the tender beef strips with the golden soup (chicken soup). The soup was flavourful and delicious. The strips were fresh and of a good quality. The staff were friendly and made our visit pleasant.

What a fabulous hotpot restaurant! It’s tucked away in the the heart of Birmingham city centre China town. About 8-10 minutes slow walk from the main Bull Ring Car Park (where we parked). There is however, a payment car park almost next door to the restaurant. Extremely welcoming atmosphere when we walked in. Politely welcomed and shown to our table. The decor was great and the tables extremely comfortably spaced out. The staff were brilliant, Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. A full explanation of the whole ordering, cooking and enjoying the dining experience was professionally explained. We ordered a varied selection which included beef, lamb, prawns and chicken, accompanied by seaweed, mushrooms and lettuce. The hotpot was 3 segmented and we chose the spicy marrow bone soup, tomato and papaya, the third I can’t recall but was just as delicious. The raw ingredients were beautifully prepared and presented. Once cooked and served with noodles or the egg fried rice, the taste was mind blowing. Absolutely delicious!! The spices, taste and texture combined was something truly magical. All this at an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommend and BTW, it’s Halal.

Do you really think that Chinese people have no sense of taste? Just make money from foreigners. It’s expensive and tastes bad. You can’t live in China and you can’t live in foreign countries.

Food was average, some of them were still frozen. The man (not the young people) who helped us take the order was so impatient, with bad temper and was rude, and we thought he was not happy with his job so probably unhappy with the customers. It seems we were begging for food...

People dine out to eat so that they can eat good cooked food, but what a idea this place bring in the town. You come here yourself and then cook yourself to eat it and they ll deliver item to your table to cook, like u order uber grocery. Saw hype on insta, but it was an awful experience. Overall 2⭐️ for food.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotspot restaurant to have halal meats. All the foods I got to try with the hotpot were fantastic, especially the Basa fish fillet (in the Old Hen/Golden Soup).

Me and my friend have never had a a hotpot before- and what a brilliant first experience! Waitress was very attentive and informative when explaining the menu, and the food came out very quickly. The food itself was gorgeous- fresh and rich! Could have spent hours ordering a little bit of everything to try- we are in Birm for four days and i’m sure we’ll find time to come back in! Serving size was very generous- you get a LOT for your money!!

Went there for my friend’s birthday. Didn’t regret the experience. Was my first time trying the hotpot and definitely will not be my last. Food was 10/10 and the staff was welcoming.

It’s my first time to eat here and I have a great experience. The environment is very good and the service is also very good. Hong You Chao Shou is highly recommended!

The price is about the same as Haidilao, the quantity is twice less than Haidilao, the mutton has no mutton flavor at all, and the butter pot is not spicy at all. I really don’t understand how the score went up to 4.5. A bunch of pitfalls

Beautiful decoration and good service. Only negative is the overall value was not good. Its a bit too pricey for the amount of food you get value wise. Sauce station should be included (without fruit or food options there), just so that sauces are included, and the food portions need to be increased by 30%. I'm a small guy and I'd need to spend about £40 to feel satiated. Expect to pay about £40-50 per head depending on how much you eat.

Loved it here. First time going on a Saturday at lunch. The kids really enjoyed it, me and my wife too. Staff are friendly and there was so much to choose from. Will visit again soon!

This was a truly sad experience. The place is very well put together aesthetically and i appreciate small details like free sanitary items for women in the bathroom and it was overall a clean place. We were recommended this hotpot place by a friend and boy oh boy, were going to be having words with said friend. The expense was NOWHERE near its worth. Yes, the hotpot was flavourful, it was NOT a buffet so this already goes against the grain of tradition, it was spicy spicy - burn your insides and your bum spicy. Literally ruined our day and night its so ridiculous. The food portions were so so tiny but for some reason they must think the presentation was what we came for. It was stupidly priced: £5 for less than half a handful of enoki mushrooms, £5 for a small sliced potato, meats (beef and lamb) £10+ each but they were clean cuts ill give them that, salmon and sea bass £10+ each which were frozen still, not even defrosted so that took away a lot of the fresh feeling of eating hotpot, fried tofu £5 for a handful - what a joke, sweetcorn £5 for half a small cob! like literally sliced up into maybe 1-2cm slices - appalling, scanty behavior. You could tell all the foods were frozen and that was a let down on how much effort they put into the actual food here. OH AND THE SAUCE AND FRUIT WERE NOT EVEN FREE. We were told we had to pay separately per person for this atop everything else anyway so we ordered just the 1 as we werent that bothered but they made it a point to say "No sharing" then they were constantly checking if we stayed true to our word - how flipping rude. NEVER AGAIN FOR MY HEALTH'S SAKE AND FINANCIAL STATE'S SAKE. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND - GO TO HAPPY LAMB HOTPOT INSTEAD, THEY DO IT RIGHT, WE SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED OUR INSTINCTS. This place sucks. Happy hotpotting elsewhere!

I’m a regular at this place! And for a very good reason! The quality of the meats and freshness of the vegetables are amazing 🤩 love how you can pick a couple different broths to try. THE SERVICE! The most nicest and accommodating staff ever!🥰 thank you to umar for always taking care of us and specially keeping my fave piece of cutlery to use there! Will forever be our favourite place. And we’re loving the new cola replacements 😍

Good experience. Great food. The only issue we found was that the employees kept pacing up and down which was quite distracting.

I’m not giving it 5 stars because I haven’t tried out all of the food but the food I did try was amazing. Went for the split 3 hotpot and it all 3 were different but good. You can choose which food to buy and cook at your own pace. I really liked the prawns and dumpling. There’s different meat cuts and me and my family picked out 3 of them which I can’t remember but it was so good in the chilli soup! Instant noodles was great and the fried rice was also great! They can never disappoint with fried rice. The price was quite a lot but if you go with a big group of 5 or more you can split it and it won’t be too bad. I was in a group of 6 and it came down to £180. AND ITS HALAL!!

One of the workers, called Mr Khan, was being rather racist, as he cussed me and my black family out in Urdu, thinking I don’t know the language, however the words said were absolutely abhorrent

Nice atmosphere and good quality food

From the start, even walking into the restaurant, the atmosphere was so nice even though the restaurant was mostly empty, the interior was so beautiful and cosy, it didn’t make much difference, but I can only imagine how lively the atmosphere would be on a busier day. The variety of food items on the menu was amazing, so much to choose from, including many vegetarian and vegan options which was great for me and my other friend, and they even offered to change the soup base for us which we weren’t even aware before was not vegetarian, which just highlights the care they put into the customers. The food came out within a couple of minuets and although that was stated on the menu i was hesitant to believe it, but when it actually did I was so impressed! The soup itself also didn’t take much time to start boiling either and the food itself was so yummy, nicely flavoured, fresh and authentic, everyone loved it. All throughout the staff were highly attentive to our needs, patient, kind and hospitable, which I applaud. Also another massive thing for me is cleanliness of a restaurant, and i’d have to say that this is probably the cleanest restaurant that i’ve ever been to, even the restrooms were up to a great standard. Although from first glance i was worried that it might’ve been a little pricy, when eating with a group of people, the bill isn’t intimidating at all, especially when taking into consideration the amazing food and service too! Would definitely come here again and highly recommend!

Always wanted to try food like this and palace hotspot doesn't disappoint. Meat selections are great, even exotic at times but I don't stray from the good old chicken, beef and lamb combos. Could be better drink options but the food is the real masterpiece and makes it worth coming every time. An expensive eat out if you're not sure what to specifically get.

The service here was terrible. While the hotpot was okay, I’d actively avoid coming here purely based on the service. We explained that this was the first time coming for hotpot and the waiter made no attempt to help us out or explain things. When he did, it seemed like he was incredibly inconvenienced by our presence. It made for a very confusing experience. Would not recommend.

Avoid if you have allergies. Travelled from out of town. No one on their Instagram page/online is it advertised that they will refuse service if you have an allergy. We did the responsible thing and enquired about what contains nuts. None of the soups or meats did. These would be safe for our requirements. Presumably the owner, refused to serve us. They have a food hygiene rating of 1 currently ( due to unsafe/not up to standard kitchen for which they are awaiting re inspection). kept telling us if you didn’t tell me about your allergy I would serve you. So you would rather a customer dies and doesn’t enquire? I’ve never had such a shocking experience. I eat out frequently in many restaurants with allergens, safely. Avoid this place if you have any dietary requirements as they do not care and will not accommodate you at all

It’s the only hotpot place that’s halal! Very fun experience. The food that I recommend is the spicy beef with enokki mushrooms, adds a lovely crunch. And the egg fried rice is the best item there, crispy salted chicken and prawns are also very tasty. I do recommend the old hen soup which is chicken soup however do not recommend the bone marrow soup, only because of how crazy spicy it was, was tasty but the spice was overwhelming especially the red chillis in there but if you love very spicy food then I do recommend. However the seating was perfect since it’s very spacious and we have our little kind of booths. The overall experience was wonderful and the staff are very accommodating. Highly recommend!!

It's the second time we've been here and it's absolutely spot on. We love hot pot and the bonus is, it's halal. A huge range to choose from. We ordered the nourishing bone marrow soup and Tom yum. We ordered the meat platter, seafood platter and vegetable platter as well as beef rolls and then any additional. Currently there is an offer in October where you can get up to 40% off which is great if you've never tried it before. Service is always with a smile and it's been consistent on both occasions. We've been once as a table of 7 at 8pm where we booked as it was busy and once as a couple at 5pm where it was less busy. Both on a Friday. Can't wait to visit again.

Been there a few times service and food is always amazing

Fantastic for a date night in the city. We had no idea what to order as it was our first time but the servers were super helpful and explained everything to us. The food was delicious, fresh and so fun to cook in the hotpot. Just note that the tables are quite low, and as I'm 6'6 and my girlfriend 5'11, we couldn't fit our legs under. Niche problem to have but just thought I'd mention as it was a bit uncomfortable. The best egg fried rice ever btw. 5/5.

So I was in manchester to visit my family and friends so my cousin is gonna move to Birmingham and we went to her house and we saw this hotpot place but we didnt go but 2 days later we went it was a 1h 30min drive but it Was worth it, the workers were so so so so nice and its Halal and better then 雄柒 XiongQi Hotpot Birmingham that's super close to them so this place is better has Halal stuff and good drinks

First time trying hotpot outside of London and it was so delicious way better than other places I’ve tried. All the bases we tried were nice but the waiter recommended Tom yum and that was our favourite. Loved the sauce station. Service was very good and everything was explained well. Halal available. Will definitely be returning

Took my kids here was a bit pricey for 4 people but we did order too much we ate it the next day but food was amazing and a great experience

I have tried a lot of different hotpots in Birmingham and usually go to haidilao, but this place was lovely and had great atmosphere and lovely like decor. They gave a sauce station like haidilao which was full Also this place is HALAL which is 10/10 definitely going to come back again 😁

First time trying hot pot, and was not disappointed. The service was great, Eric provided us with great, excellent customer service. Food is halal. Vegetarian options too.

I enjoyed having a good time with friends where you can book a room for yourself. But the food taste is really not up to standards, the soup base is very blunt and the waiter keeps rushing us to finish our food, they came to us 3 times and wishing us to finish quickly and leave. We arrived around 7.30 and they rushed us to finish in 2-3 hours, and there were 13 of us?!! So the service is really not the best, plus the taste is not a "wow" either.

We tried the three different flavoured broth hot pot and chose different meats and veggies for each broth. The flavours were amazing and the meats were nicely marinated. Staff are also really helpful if you need any help. It's a different experience and a lot of fun to try. Definitely recommend going, and I'm looking forward to going back again soon.

Amazing food! Been many times, never been let down!

The service was par excellence. Drop a fork or a knife or your chopsticks, and in no time you are presented with another even before you ask. Very kind and helpful staff. Always around if you need anything, plus check in often if anything is needed or not. Every staff member served with a smile. The food and menu is fully halal. Great to see. They not only have a hotpot menu. But also a BBQ menu. Let them know which one you are interested in on your table.

Amazing food and atmosphere. Have been here a few times now and it's always spot on. Guess you can't go wrong cooking your own food! The spicy marrow soup is especially delicious but not for the feint of heart. Mushrooms and greens platter, noodles and meat together all taste amazing. Our favourite is the handmade noodles, mushrooms together with the lamb spring rolls. Best part is that most of the food is halal. Good amount of green tea you get for a decent price and the novelty of cooking to your liking with friends/family is fun. Staff is attentive and always happy to answer questions. It can be on the steep side pricewise but definitely something fun to do as a family and can split check with friends! I'd recommend getting the three pot so can try 3 different soups and pick yo your liking

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here, cooking our own meat and veg, the soups were delicious we chose tomato and papaya and herb and mushroom soup. Traditional decor and beautiful mannerisms of our waiter really makes you appreciate the Chinese culture and to top the experience it was all halal which makes choosing dishes so much easier. There's something for everyone's tastes. Thankyou for an authentic halal chinese experience.

It was my first time trying a hotpot because it's not easy to come across Halal ones where I stay. It was a very nice experience and I was glad I tried it - we went for the meat platter with 3 flavour pots of Papaya & Tomato soup, spicy marrow bone soup and golden soup. The staff were friendly and it was a nice environment there too.

I absolutely love this place. Only fully halal hot place in Birmingham no pork served on site. Good choice of broth, meat and veg. Would recommend the golden hen broth and the lotus root 😍😍😍

Great food. Loved it all. Definitely a place I would recommend you go and try. The platters have plenty of meat for you to try out. I really enjoyed eating the beef and lamb rolls with my soup.

We went on a quiet day so had prompt and efficient service. Food was delicious, apart from spicy fried rice dish much too HOT. We were 6 people who left the restaurant happy and satisfied, and the bill was under 70€. We had the 3 dish hot pot with plenty of ingredients, but we did not order any drinks. A thermos of water was placed beside our table, and refilled without asking. Very nice service. Thank you for a nice experience and we will definitely recommend to friends.

Amazing! Would highly recommend to EVERYONE! Just ask staff if unsure. The tom yum soup is best. We had the bone marrow broth as we were told the spicy one was way too spicy. While the bone marrow broth was hearty, it was on the bland side. You can add chillies/other spicy broth to it if you want it spicier. Highly recommend the lamb skewers. Such a nice place!!!! Staff were lovely too!

Service is non existence, so bad a table of 8 walked out. I would have done the same if it's my party. Over priced for the quality, more like a buffet quality. Very chewy low quality beef. There are many places better then here I am sorry

Fantastic halal hotpot. If you're into your spicy food would definitely recommend the spicy soup option. Some of the spiciest food I've had 🌶️. Meat and veggies are of good great quality. Beware that there are a couple of soup options which aren't halal but the staff are quite helpful when asking.

Lovely experience for a halal hot pot. Clean tables and chairs and bathrooms. Everything was lovely - went with a toddler so enough room for a pram and also high chairs available. Everything was explained properly and service was brilliant. Food was delicious. We chose 3 flavours for sauce and they were all incredible. Mains we got a mixture which all were fantastic except for one which Personally I wasn’t keen on as I felt it was poured with lots of chilli and the spice took over! However, I would deffo recommend going!

Really great atmosphere and the best service. Staff are super polite and accommodating adding to the experience. It’s also Halal which is rare for a Chinese hot pot place but if you ask they’ll even explain what you can and can’t have. We ordered the three flavour base and got the spicy bone marrow which be warned is very spicy. We got the meat platter and veg platter alongside some steamed rice and handmade noodles. The meat platter was £28 sufficient for about 3-4 I’d say just about 4. Overall great hotpot experience.

Poor service, bad attitude from staff, overpriced, they charged everyone £4 each for sauce even though only 3 out of the 8 people had it, they never said if one person gets it then everyone has to pay. Don’t go to this place, its a scam!

One of the best restaurants and meals I’ve had in a while. Firstly the staff were super helpful and friendly and even recommended a place for us to be able to buy a drink that we really enjoyed there. The food was delicious considering we cooked the meats ourselves in the broth, the cuts of meat were really good and so were the spring onion pancakes. The dumplings were the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend a visit here.

We absolutely loved our experience at the Palace Hotpot. Everything from the decor, the selection of authentic Chinese food to the service was exceptional. Our work group consisted of different dietary requirements , all of which the staff were able to accommodate seamlessly. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Palace Hotpot and we will certainly be coming back for more very soon.
