Everything was perfect. Can't fault this place at all. The staff are super friendly and helpful! We got lamb rolls, sirloin beef slices, Asian leaves, chips, egg fried rice, ramen noodles, corn on the cob, all the condiments from the sauces and salad bar and 2 broths - golden chicken soup and spicy bone marrow broth. It was insane!! Loved every bit. Great experience and aesthetically pleasing restaurant too. Got some soft serve ice creams for 2 also. Came to £76 for two and there was wayyyyy too much for us tbh. Worth it and will defo be coming back

Lovely decor, but you are eating on plastic dishes. Drinks came in bottles ( I thought honey lemon ice tea will be made in restaurant), we didn't get even glasses.We had to ask for them and received small plastic ones. We didn't get spoons and ladel, had to ask for it too. Be aware that dipping sauces cost £3.99 per person! We weren't aware,and we're charged for 3ppl despite only 2 ppl took it, and finally we didn't use them as they didn't taste nice. Gold hen broth was nice, same as marinated lamb. Hand pulled noodles portion was very small, vegetables come uncut so it's hard to eat big pieces of Chinese leaf. It was an expensive experience that I don't think we will repeat anytime soon

Lovely staff and place.. maybe not the best to visit with kids since it's get alittle messy and hard to control what everyone is eating and if it's cooked properly. Ok for grown kids and adults.

I came yesterday, and now I've been craving it again. soup, ingredients, sauce, everything is perfect!

The only two issues I had were the table being too low (I'm 6'1") and not being able to control the temperature without calling the staff. I liked that there were times listed on the menu for how long to cook each thing. I think we left the crab sticks in for too long because they became mushy. Golden chicken soup wasn't as good as Tom Yam, in my opinion. They provided us with boxes on request to takeaway our leftovers. I did not get an upset stomach, so I believe we cooked the food well enough, and it was all fresh and halal. The desserts were okay. They were not filling by any means, but they were a nice way to finish off the meal. Staff were friendly. Toilets were clean and easy to find. Nice fish tank, didn't look at it long though.

Went with family to celebrate a birthday and was definitely not disappointed. Price was reasonable and the service was outstanding. Obviously the main attraction is that it's halal. The staff were so friendly and helpful always ready to help. They also have parking in the middle of Chinatown right next to the restaurant. Had a lovely time and will definitely recommend it for anyone.

I was so impressive with their service. The waiter noticed I was having trouble with my hair. So, he came over and offered me a hair band. Later, my friend arrived wearing a white shirt. The same waiter came over also offer her an apron.

Was an interesting experience. We tried 3 broths with the vegetable and seafood platter along with some meat. The broth was overly salty and the meats were quite dry. I recommend the chicken broth with noodles.

I recently visited this fully halal restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! No alcohol or pork is served, making it a great choice for halal dining. This was my first time at a hotpot place, and it did not disappoint. We were a group of five and ordered chicken, a seafood platter, and a variety of noodles, paired with four different soup bases. One of the bases was incredibly spicy, so I’d recommend checking with the waitstaff about spice levels before ordering. The portions were just right for our group, and the food was absolutely delicious. It was a satisfying and filling meal overall. Highly recommend!

We came early for our reservation but the restaurant only had 3 tables sat and there were several waiting staff at the bar on their phones so we didn't think it was an issue, it took them 30 minutes to take our order and we stated this was the first time we had ever tried hotpot and our server didn't say anything, it would have been less of an issue if the table who sat infront of us with a different server were approached straight away and given a detailed explanation of the menu and recommended dishes. We approached once during our meal and that was to fill our soups with more water and she left without saying anything which but we had already finished the meal. The food was okay, I liked the presentation and the place looks really nice but I just feel as though the service really let it down. I work in this field and would have been more understanding if it were very busy but it wasn't.

Our favourite hotpot place, lots of vegetarian option. Chicken and papaya soup was the best. Spicy bone marrow soup was extremely spicy for us. Fully Halal. Recommend: beef rolls, dried tofu skin, prawns, rice cakes, enoki mushrooms, green leaves, bamboo shot, short ribs steak. You have to make sauces by yourself, unlimited for per person. We took mogu mogu lychee. Perfect for groups of 4-6 people. Tips: after eating, you can take the broth /soups +leftover veg/meats in takeaway box and enjoy at home.

The staff here are very friendly and accommodating! They were the best part of my experience here with my friends. The food was average but the halal selection was great and very appreciated. We opted for a 3 soup hot pot base with the meat and vegetable platter. The ramen noodles (1 small packet for £3.60) were overpriced hence the 3* food review.

I love my noodles and found this place accidentally when looking for authentic halal Chinese food. Honestly one of the best hidden gems that I have found so far! Staff are always accommodating, the decor looks amazing, the experience of hot pot around a table and with family and friends is great. Recent visit went in with friends that never had hot pot, few of them very picky eaters. However from the experience, to the ambience and food they absolutely loved and they will be back!

There is paid parking in the back which is fine as it is in the heart of city centre. The decor here is really good and also the tables are set up for group settings as hot pot is best shared. Bought my friends that never had hot pot before and was really nerve racking as they were picky eaters, had one of them just being a standard fish and chips guy. Bought a range of meat, vegetables and sea food bought two types of broth soup. Also there is a seasoning station for all the aromatics. Honestly great spot, a little hidden gem!

Went back again and this time we were given aprons so we don’t get our clothes dirty :) every staff were welcoming. For pictures they also got their camera for us to use. The food was delicious. Always get spicy bone marrow , golden hen and Tom yum soups 😍. The restroom also has female hygiene products, really caring to small details ><

What an amazing find via Google maps! Halal and excellent hot pot. The staff is really helpful and charming. The environment is very welcoming. About the food; simply awesome. Definitely my go to place from now. They could work on the quantity a bit but otherwise perfect.

We went to this restaurant yesterday to celebrate my friend’s birthday and it was such an amazing experience. Huge thanks to Oman (sorry if I misspelled your name) - honestly a gem to any place he will work. He literally could read our minds and anticipate our requests even before we mentioned from giving aprons, cutlery, change tables to even offering hair bands with great food recommendation. I was impressed how available and helpful he is doing everything with a smile on his face which for me is rare to find in this country. When we left he gave us a great gift by taking a Polaroid picture of this special day and giving to us. If you value service as much as I do, this place is 5 stars!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Palace Hotpot and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and cozy, and the decor was lovely too making it family friendly. The service was brilliant. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and the waiter was attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. He was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations, ensuring our dining experience was perfect! Now, onto the food, it was delicious! We opted for the meat platter adding some seafood to the mix which went down really well. The combination of tasty flavourful food, a pleasant atmosphere, and a good quality service made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a halal hotpot experience in a lovely setting! ; )

LUSH FOOD, Amazing service and FABULOUS atmosphere.. my mum loved it, the kids loved it and we all loved the whole experience.. unfortunately my mum burned her hand as she got some of the boiling soup on her hand, however they had burn gel available which sorted it out straight away. She told me to leave a review and to make sure that I thank the palace staff for their amazing service ans experience

Firstly, better ventilation is needed at this place as it can get really hot quick. The steam stuck to the windows which didn't make for a great dining experience. The one thing I really disliked though was the fact that the rice cakes practically disintegrated as soon as we cooked them, meaning they were very old. When we told the waiter about this, he quite literally said it was our fault for cooking them too long so the service wasn't particularly great or hospitable either. As someone who cooks rice cakes regularly, they were cracked and frozen when they came out, meaning they were frozen for far too long. Moreover, the food in general was just very mediocre for the price. The meat was fresh and cooked well but it just wasn't particularly flavourful or tasty. I was really excited to go to this place as it is halal but honestly, I'm pretty disappointed and spent way too much for such an underwhelming experience. I personally would recommend going elsewhere.

This place was absolutely amazing. The decor is beautiful, the food is 10/10. One of my favourite restaurants, and the staff are very attentive. They even have sanitary products for free in the ladies bathroom, such an amazing experience.

The atmosphere, service, and food are all solid, but the quality is maybe just slightly lower than some of the other hotpot places nearby. That being said, I would be very surprised if there's a better halal hotpot option in the city, prices are great, and I will definitely be returning in the future 🔥

It is an excellent, fully halal Hot pot place, and The staff were very helpful in recommending base soups and different cuts of meat. We indeed had a lovely time. The restaurant was squeaky clean and very family-friendly. I definitely will go again and recommend it.

We ordered the meat platter and 3 broths (Papaya & Tomato soup, spicy Bone marrow broth & Old hen golden chicken broth) spicy chicken Wonton dumplings. Hand made noodles Would recommend this place

Wanted to find a halal Chinese, came here after a quick google came here. We just wanted a normal Chinese, we didn’t realise until the food came out that it was raw meat and we had to cook it ourselves. We ordered lamb and steak (expecting cooked) and after we cooked it ourselves it all tasted the same anyway. Wafer thin slices that when cooked boil down to nothing. The rice and soup was nice but after spending £70 we left feeling deflated and a little queasy to be honest. If it was explained to us we was going to be given raw meat and cook it ourselves we wouldn’t of gone

This is a rare experience to find halal, it's great that's it's available in Birmingham. It is quite expensive, but definitely something worth while for the price. Authentic tasting delicious food. I recommend coming in a larger group as the price scales with cost favourably and you can try a mix of things. Will definitely be back.

this is maybe my fourth or fifth time coming here and the service is simply excellent. the food was absolutely phenomenal i loved it sm! definitely try out the prawn paste and the teokks. gorgeous ambience, excellent service, yummy and actually halal options. worth it with a bigger group regarding price point (easier split), although a lot of food is provided for the cost. they also let us take a free polaroid and they had YUMMY non-brand cola in support of palestine. love love love could not have better things to say. (just got to the bathrooms and they have free sanitary supplies and also the bathrooms are cute and clean!)

I had an excellent experience. I had the tender beef strips with the golden soup (chicken soup). The soup was flavourful and delicious. The strips were fresh and of a good quality. The staff were friendly and made our visit pleasant.

We had a pleasant dining experience here. They offered a variety of fresh ingredients like meats, vegetables and noodles to dip and cook in the broth. Most of the meats are also halal! We ordered the golden soup which was flavoursome and hearty. Definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a relaxing atmosphere with halal options.

What a fabulous hotpot restaurant! It’s tucked away in the the heart of Birmingham city centre China town. About 8-10 minutes slow walk from the main Bull Ring Car Park (where we parked). There is however, a payment car park almost next door to the restaurant. Extremely welcoming atmosphere when we walked in. Politely welcomed and shown to our table. The decor was great and the tables extremely comfortably spaced out. The staff were brilliant, Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. A full explanation of the whole ordering, cooking and enjoying the dining experience was professionally explained. We ordered a varied selection which included beef, lamb, prawns and chicken, accompanied by seaweed, mushrooms and lettuce. The hotpot was 3 segmented and we chose the spicy marrow bone soup, tomato and papaya, the third I can’t recall but was just as delicious. The raw ingredients were beautifully prepared and presented. Once cooked and served with noodles or the egg fried rice, the taste was mind blowing. Absolutely delicious!! The spices, taste and texture combined was something truly magical. All this at an extremely reasonable price. Highly recommend and BTW, it’s Halal.

Do you really think that Chinese people have no sense of taste? Just make money from foreigners. It’s expensive and tastes bad. You can’t live in China and you can’t live in foreign countries.

Food was average, some of them were still frozen. The man (not the young people) who helped us take the order was so impatient, with bad temper and was rude, and we thought he was not happy with his job so probably unhappy with the customers. It seems we were begging for food...

People dine out to eat so that they can eat good cooked food, but what a idea this place bring in the town. You come here yourself and then cook yourself to eat it and they ll deliver item to your table to cook, like u order uber grocery. Saw hype on insta, but it was an awful experience. Overall 2⭐️ for food.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotspot restaurant to have halal meats. All the foods I got to try with the hotpot were fantastic, especially the Basa fish fillet (in the Old Hen/Golden Soup).

Me and my friend have never had a a hotpot before- and what a brilliant first experience! Waitress was very attentive and informative when explaining the menu, and the food came out very quickly. The food itself was gorgeous- fresh and rich! Could have spent hours ordering a little bit of everything to try- we are in Birm for four days and i’m sure we’ll find time to come back in! Serving size was very generous- you get a LOT for your money!!

The price is about the same as Haidilao, the quantity is twice less than Haidilao, the mutton has no mutton flavor at all, and the butter pot is not spicy at all. I really don’t understand how the score went up to 4.5. A bunch of pitfalls

Beautiful decoration and good service. Only negative is the overall value was not good. Its a bit too pricey for the amount of food you get value wise. Sauce station should be included (without fruit or food options there), just so that sauces are included, and the food portions need to be increased by 30%. I'm a small guy and I'd need to spend about £40 to feel satiated. Expect to pay about £40-50 per head depending on how much you eat.

Loved it here. First time going on a Saturday at lunch. The kids really enjoyed it, me and my wife too. Staff are friendly and there was so much to choose from. Will visit again soon!

This was a truly sad experience. The place is very well put together aesthetically and i appreciate small details like free sanitary items for women in the bathroom and it was overall a clean place. We were recommended this hotpot place by a friend and boy oh boy, were going to be having words with said friend. The expense was NOWHERE near its worth. Yes, the hotpot was flavourful, it was NOT a buffet so this already goes against the grain of tradition, it was spicy spicy - burn your insides and your bum spicy. Literally ruined our day and night its so ridiculous. The food portions were so so tiny but for some reason they must think the presentation was what we came for. It was stupidly priced: £5 for less than half a handful of enoki mushrooms, £5 for a small sliced potato, meats (beef and lamb) £10+ each but they were clean cuts ill give them that, salmon and sea bass £10+ each which were frozen still, not even defrosted so that took away a lot of the fresh feeling of eating hotpot, fried tofu £5 for a handful - what a joke, sweetcorn £5 for half a small cob! like literally sliced up into maybe 1-2cm slices - appalling, scanty behavior. You could tell all the foods were frozen and that was a let down on how much effort they put into the actual food here. OH AND THE SAUCE AND FRUIT WERE NOT EVEN FREE. We were told we had to pay separately per person for this atop everything else anyway so we ordered just the 1 as we werent that bothered but they made it a point to say "No sharing" then they were constantly checking if we stayed true to our word - how flipping rude. NEVER AGAIN FOR MY HEALTH'S SAKE AND FINANCIAL STATE'S SAKE. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND - GO TO HAPPY LAMB HOTPOT INSTEAD, THEY DO IT RIGHT, WE SHOULD HAVE TRUSTED OUR INSTINCTS. This place sucks. Happy hotpotting elsewhere!

I’m a regular at this place! And for a very good reason! The quality of the meats and freshness of the vegetables are amazing 🤩 love how you can pick a couple different broths to try. THE SERVICE! The most nicest and accommodating staff ever!🥰 thank you to umar for always taking care of us and specially keeping my fave piece of cutlery to use there! Will forever be our favourite place. And we’re loving the new cola replacements 😍

I’m not giving it 5 stars because I haven’t tried out all of the food but the food I did try was amazing. Went for the split 3 hotpot and it all 3 were different but good. You can choose which food to buy and cook at your own pace. I really liked the prawns and dumpling. There’s different meat cuts and me and my family picked out 3 of them which I can’t remember but it was so good in the chilli soup! Instant noodles was great and the fried rice was also great! They can never disappoint with fried rice. The price was quite a lot but if you go with a big group of 5 or more you can split it and it won’t be too bad. I was in a group of 6 and it came down to £180. AND ITS HALAL!!

Nice atmosphere and good quality food

From the start, even walking into the restaurant, the atmosphere was so nice even though the restaurant was mostly empty, the interior was so beautiful and cosy, it didn’t make much difference, but I can only imagine how lively the atmosphere would be on a busier day. The variety of food items on the menu was amazing, so much to choose from, including many vegetarian and vegan options which was great for me and my other friend, and they even offered to change the soup base for us which we weren’t even aware before was not vegetarian, which just highlights the care they put into the customers. The food came out within a couple of minuets and although that was stated on the menu i was hesitant to believe it, but when it actually did I was so impressed! The soup itself also didn’t take much time to start boiling either and the food itself was so yummy, nicely flavoured, fresh and authentic, everyone loved it. All throughout the staff were highly attentive to our needs, patient, kind and hospitable, which I applaud. Also another massive thing for me is cleanliness of a restaurant, and i’d have to say that this is probably the cleanest restaurant that i’ve ever been to, even the restrooms were up to a great standard. Although from first glance i was worried that it might’ve been a little pricy, when eating with a group of people, the bill isn’t intimidating at all, especially when taking into consideration the amazing food and service too! Would definitely come here again and highly recommend!

Always wanted to try food like this and palace hotspot doesn't disappoint. Meat selections are great, even exotic at times but I don't stray from the good old chicken, beef and lamb combos. Could be better drink options but the food is the real masterpiece and makes it worth coming every time. An expensive eat out if you're not sure what to specifically get.

The service here was terrible. While the hotpot was okay, I’d actively avoid coming here purely based on the service. We explained that this was the first time coming for hotpot and the waiter made no attempt to help us out or explain things. When he did, it seemed like he was incredibly inconvenienced by our presence. It made for a very confusing experience. Would not recommend.

Avoid if you have allergies. Travelled from out of town. No one on their Instagram page/online is it advertised that they will refuse service if you have an allergy. We did the responsible thing and enquired about what contains nuts. None of the soups or meats did. These would be safe for our requirements. Presumably the owner, refused to serve us. They have a food hygiene rating of 1 currently ( due to unsafe/not up to standard kitchen for which they are awaiting re inspection). kept telling us if you didn’t tell me about your allergy I would serve you. So you would rather a customer dies and doesn’t enquire? I’ve never had such a shocking experience. I eat out frequently in many restaurants with allergens, safely. Avoid this place if you have any dietary requirements as they do not care and will not accommodate you at all

It’s the only hotpot place that’s halal! Very fun experience. The food that I recommend is the spicy beef with enokki mushrooms, adds a lovely crunch. And the egg fried rice is the best item there, crispy salted chicken and prawns are also very tasty. I do recommend the old hen soup which is chicken soup however do not recommend the bone marrow soup, only because of how crazy spicy it was, was tasty but the spice was overwhelming especially the red chillis in there but if you love very spicy food then I do recommend. However the seating was perfect since it’s very spacious and we have our little kind of booths. The overall experience was wonderful and the staff are very accommodating. Highly recommend!!
