The Page Cafe in Calderdale

Went here for a drink late Saturday afternoon, the place was buzzing but we managed to get a table by the bar. Drinks were fine but what we really loved was the quirkiness of this bar. The staff were really friendly too. We didn’t eat but would definitely return when we are next in Hebden Bridge

It’s not ok for your chef in pizza oven kitchen to do what he is doing. If health and safety see him you will get shut down Tall chef with short hair male. He does the PIZZA BASE and putting toppings on he is eating sweets or something out of a tub Hand to mouth hand to mouth then hand to pizza toppings it’s disgusting if health and safety saw this they would shut you down It’s there for everyone to see Covid. Come on what’s this guy thinking. Not a-lot I’m guessing he has no health certificate my god made me think And it should make you worried to get that man out of there and let the others carry on Do the right think

Absolutely delicious pizzas. Truly gorgeous. Didn’t enjoy the split aspect to the dining experience here though, having to order and pay for food at a window then order and pay for drinks inside the bar. Also very limited on drinks available being a cocktail bar. Fair enough that they are actually a cocktail bar although I wasn’t aware of this until after paying for food. I’d seen the cocktails advertised outside but hadn’t understood that was largely the o ku thing you could order to accompany your meal. Compromised with a glass of ginger beer.

Would def recommend. Sat outside on furry seats under a heater. Pizzas were delicious and came quickly.

Stopped off for a couple of drinks at the end of our night. Lovely set up with heaters and rugs on the seats, nice to sit outside even on a cold December night. Our waiter was very helpful, nice to not have to queue at a bar and 2 for £10 on selected cocktails what more could you want.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat and drink whilst exploring Hebden Bridge! Really cosy atmosphere even on a cold and wet October day! Would visit again!

Very nice pizza - tasty and nicely cooked. Bit of an odd system with ordering drinks at the table then food at a window. Seemed overwhelmed with food orders then add to that no cutlery and a menu without beer or wine (but they do Estrella if you ask) and feels like somewhere that’ll be really good once a few teething troubles are ironed out.

Fantastic pizzas, that are wood fired great using fresh produce would heartedly recommend if your in the heart of the town centre!

I really enjoyed The Page when it opened. It had a great atmosphere with an excellent book collection, an interest in cocktails and hard liquor and seemingly good intentions. I took another artist friend here with our notebooks, to sit and have a cocktail in the company of great literature but was very disappointed. The books are no longer there. Instead replaced with fake plants and a TV screen. The music was unbearably loud and aggressive transforming the atmosphere to somewhere I would consider as an adolescent teenager. The drinks were nice but everything tarnished by the horrible atmosphere. I would have recommended it when I first went but definitely not now. I prefer a good drink much more in the company of jazz or even some experimental electronica than thrashing rock music for metal heads. Marry the vibes, it was all so confusing. I'd have to turn the page rather than go again. Not until my nerves are soothed....

No breakfast now last time we visit this great place we had amazing breakfast. Came back for it again no longer available sad times hope it starts doing delicious breakfast again soon

I sauntered into Hebden Bridge on a graying May Bank Holiday Sunday. It had been a long drive up from Brighton, humid, busy and rife with issues. Upon seeing the entrance to the page I was immediately greeted by smiling staff, cheery customers and I have to say a delightful atmosphere. I've forgotten the rest of the evening as I had too many cocktails and pointed in the direction of a taxi home. 5 stars.

Very disappointed that after myself and friends took trains and taxis to visit The Page it was "temporarily closed". Their loss we spent our money on cocktails next door at Aya Sophia. Wouldn't make the effort again for The Page.

The coffee at the page is definitely the best that Hebden has to offer, but it’s never open when it says it is. Renovations to the cafe have caused long closures which is understandable but after its grand reopening its still closed on days that is says its open. Unplanned closures to business are sometimes unavoidable but for instance this week, it’s been closed every day with no notice as to why. For a shop that prides itself on local custom I think it’s really disappointing to leave customers guessing on when it will be open. Just a short message on their active Facebook page for instance would solve this problem.

As a drinker of black coffee I often find cafes think the more bitter the better, but the coffee beans used by Page are the best I’ve ever tasted - not overwhelmingly bitter whilst full of flavour- absl delicious. The music is great and the bookshelves and plants make for a calm and cool atmosphere. With the brilliant breakfast food on top at reasonable prices, can’t fault.

Went to the page last night for pre dinner drinks, what a place! Great atmosphere, great music and serving drinks that are both reasonably priced and made with real attention to detail and care. The gents behind the bar really know what they are doing and use proper ingredients and techniques to make some of the best cocktails that we have had anywhere. I had a Root and Ruin and a Long Island and they were both quality. All in all, superb!! Thank you to the Page!

I went here for a coffee while I killed time before an appointment. The coffee was okay but I wasn’t impressed with the service. I realise places have regular customers who staff might chat to but that shouldn’t delay a new customer being served. I was made to feel like I was interrupting a private party. I’ve just read some of the management’s responses to negative comments and have been surprised by their brusque tone. If I’m told I should have raised the poor service at the time then that is ridiculous. Nearly every other place in Hebden manages to have good service and the customer feels valued. I shouldn’t have to ask staff to serve me. I won’t be going back.

I've seriously changed the style of my cooking since eating here. I'm in a love affair with Pho- the Page's speciality lunch dish. Light, richly satisfying and so flavoursome I require nothing more afterwards- Pho is the way to go! These guys obviously care about what they do and how you feel when you're visiting- nothing was too much trouble, and never is, whenever I call on (though it's not as often as I'd like!). I have also been known to partake of a cocktail or three and they are just the best- I don't even think about going anywhere else now. Affordable luxury!

Decided to eat here on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The food is so tasty. I love noodles and this is definitely on my list of fave places to eat now. What I liked was the dishes were explained, as Ive never had Vietnamese food before I wanted to know what was in the broth etc. My partner is vegan and again there was thorough knowledge of the dish she chose. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

Lovely cocktails but a lack of seating as Calan's next door can take over outside...another very small bar.

Very original little bar/cafe.Vietnamese street food noodles were excellent.You compose your own ingredients to be added to a basic broth.Both our choices were excellent and accompanied with a very nice glass of wine. Something different, pleasant service and reasonably priced. Will certainly go again.

This cafe was recommended by a local in Hebden Bridge and have to say definitely has by far the best coffee I’ve had since being in the UK. Loved visiting each day trying a different mix. Staff are lovely and the Vietnamese Street noodles are awesome. Yum! By far the best place in town for coffee, service and food. Since leaving Hebden Bridge I have really missed choosing from their extensive tea and coffee menu. Hopefully we’ll be back again.

Based on reviews we chose this cafe from the myriad available for a coffee whilst visiting the glorious Hebden Bridge.The cafe is small and on our visit seemed a bit cluttered.My wife’s seat proved to be broken.I would say the coffee was ok but nothing special

Such lovely tasty food, full of flavour ,,service was good and we could sit outside as the weather was good ,,drinks also were unusual , We will definitely go back to try different dishes The price was reasonable for such great food

If you want food that is a little different, go to Page. It serves Vietnamese street noodles and they are delicious! You can choose from four sauces and I chose sriracha - hot sweet chili and garlic (not sure of the spelling). Great fun eating the meal. Very relaxed atmosphere. Great experience.

Stumbled across this place after going for a meal upstairs at aya sophia. Quirky intimate and full of character. The best bit? The geniuses behind the bar serving wonderful unusual cocktails. You have to look hard to find bars of this quality.

We often visit Hebden and love the town, this time my partner said the only thing missing was a good cocktail bar. And voila! Here it is! Fantastic little place, fabulous cocktails, great ingredients and fresh produce. I could have gone through the entire menu (maybe not in one night) o and the music was great too

We popped in here at random for a pre-walk lunch while on a visit to Hebden (I grew up there but left years ago). Great atmosphere, cosy benches, and an intriguing lunchtime menu which offered different kinds of eggs on one side, and avocado-based dishes on the other. It looked great - simple but interesting stuff. Unfortunately I don't really like either eggs or avocado - but the menu looked so good I decided to try the avocado with mint and feta on sourdough toast. I was completely converted, and am looking forward to trying to make it at home. It tasted so fresh and delicious! My wife absolutely loved her poached eggs with kale and garlic. The coffee was excellent too. The guy running the place was friendly and helpful. I only wish we could have returned in the evening to try to cocktails - which looked amazing. Definitely recommended.

Seen this place a few times on previous visits to the nearby restaurant. So we decided to give it a try and dropped in with friends,nice decor and atmosphere, staff were friendly & very accommodating. We enjoyed our visit and shared a bottle of wine, the consensus was whilst the wine was nice the bottle was overpriced. ie From experience you could purchase the same cheaper at one the other other nearby bars /eating establishments. We would we visit again maybe but the prices need to be pegged more realistic to the economy.

Twelve of us descended on here on a busy Saturday night. What a treat. Those that wanted cask ale popped next door and brought their ale round and the rest had cocktails and wine. Real quirky place and found it difficult to leave here on our ale trail of the Hebden Bridge. We sat at the large table and could have stayed all night, great hosts and great ale next door.

Popped in for a cheeky drink with a friend, great service, great drinks offerings. Quirky little place and is right at home in Hebden.

Stumbled upon this gem last weekend during a visit with a friend. Lovely unique venue and FANTASTIC coffee! Such reasonable prices and great atmosphere. Could have stayed for hours! Will definitely be back

Had a lovely lunch and very tasty cocktails. Only two choices for lunch but both sounded delicious. Myself and two daughters all chose the same meal but had had different cocktails.

I have been to The Page on a couple of occasions and really like the place. However on this visit I went to the bar and ordered a cocktail to be told it would be brought out to me. After about 15 minutes, no drink arrived. I went to ask and the bar tender confessed to completely forgetting. An apology, however not great service, pay up front and we will forget to serve you what you have paid for :(

Wonderful food. Best vegetarian food I have ever eaten. VERY CHEAP. I recommend this place. Lovely atmosphere.

Great lunch time meal. We sat outside in the lovely courtyard and ordered both main courses to share.Amazing quality and quantity,best meal for years and amazingly good value. Excellent friendly service .

My new favourite place in Hebden Bridge. Love the book wall, dry stone wall bar and creeping vines. The coffee is awesome and they do some amazing cocktails and quality veggie grub. Staff are really friendly and chilled, I can spend hours hanging out at this place.

Best coffee in Hebden Bridge by a mile. We had double espressos and they were mighty fine. The cocktails look pretty good too!

Enjoyed a wonderful cocktail on a sunny weekend, one of the best I've had. Good atmosphere, impressive cocktails and a relaxed environment.

Lovely ambient little space. Bookcases and candles, cushions and wood. Great music, friendly staff, amazing cocktails. Long live The Page!
