My colleagues and I decided to have a meal at the Padgate Rose, and we were not disappointed. We had the imperial banquet and enjoyed it very much. Little bit expensive, but with all things these days, prices for ingredients have gone up. The staff were very friendly and even came and shredded the duck again after we thought it was all done. With drinks the bill for the four of us was £189.00 so we all paid £50 each. Will definitely be back with my wife and boys.

What has happened to this place? The padgate rose used to be the best Chinese in warrington, how times have changed. I ordered spicy pork and noodles for collection. The noodles were ok but the pork was just fat. I literally couldn't eat any of it. The sauce the pork was swimming in was tasteless. It ended up in the bin after a few forkfulls. The staff are pig ignorant as well. Never again.

Been here a few times and can never fault the food or service! Attentive staff who go out of their way to help customers. Food is tasty and arrives promptly. A personal favourite is the crispy shredded chicken in spicy honey sauce which I haven’t found anywhere else hence why I keep coming back.

Wow we ordered this on a whim thinking it would be ok as it’s a restaurant too. Well we just picked up our £40 takeaway and it was appalling! The “mild curry” was yellow and tasted like coronation chicken, the spring rolls and prawn toast looked like they’d been Deep fried for the 5th time!! So overcooked. Never have we not been able to stomach eating something but we had to throw it away. :(

The special chow mein was not so special, chicken beef and overcooked prawns, so full of peppers there was barely a noodle in there!

visited here and ordered the mini banquet and honestly it was terrible, we was seated upstairs which was cold and right next to the toilets which smelled,the food was over marinated as the beef had turned jelly like,the spring rolls was like catfood inside, we have been up half the night with stomach pains and this was only the place we visited dont take a genius to figure out the culprit, definately wont be going back there

First time for restaurant or takeaway we ordered the imperial banquet, we arrived around 6pm food came out pretty quickly and was fresh , chicken and sweet corn soup was lovely and the duck also mains of salt and pepper king prawn and beef cantonese all lovely. What we could believe was the amount of orders they took for takeaways and walk ins and as the night went on our food took longer and longer to come out due to the amount of orders they had flying out is was unbelievable I have never seen anything like it sometimes 4-7 people waiting for takeaways and drivers in and out with 6 orders at a time to deliver just shows it’s lovely food would definatley eat here again but maybe a little earlier to have left before the rush of takeaways. Excellent tasting food every time no matter what the dish, super portion size, always ready on time, great value and just around super service.

We came here because our usual takeaway is closed for Chinese New Year and we were massively disappointed. The chicken was really wet and slimy, chips really dry and cold and the crispy shredded chilli beef was so sweet it was like it had just been dipped in sugar. We also had a portion of salt and pepper chicken. There were 6 pieces of chicken and the rest of the container was filled with onions. Poor value for the price. I was hoping for much better but sadly not. I wouldnt return here or recommend it.

Charged us £39 per head despite being £32 per person menu. Wait times between courses were awful. Surrounded by people waiting for their takeaway orders. Utter thieves

Phoned order at 5.15 pm for delivery time of 8.00 pm arrived on time . The half duck and pan cakes OK. But it all fell apart after that ,the chips were rock hard very dark coloured (could not eat them) the chicken was covered in a funny batter and very dry . The prawn dish the batter was slimey . Hope the manager reads these reviews and get this problem sorted. Will cross this takeaway of my list . Worst experience

Booked a takeaway 2 hours in advance of delivery time (prior to establishment opening), paid extra for delivery & 30 mins after a no show had to go & collect!! Once a year treat for my mum, never to be repeated. Many apologies by the staff of how busy they were… answer…. stop talking orders you can’t fulfill. At home… family waiting at a table, £60 wasted and not the treat I wanted to arrange for a Christmas Eve. …… never again!!!!!

Spent £80 on a takeaway and all was well BUT the chips were clearly reheated and sent back out. This is fine for some as only a side order.... as a person with an eating disorder and this was all I ordered from the £80 it's highly disappointing and upsetting. Go here quite a lot and never disappointed with the food or service. Food always prompt and very tasty. Staff are excellent especially the manager who always goes out of her way to help

The Beef Curry noodle meal was soggy and soaking with a bland tasting curry sauce. The beef pieces were all grizzle and not a single piece was edible.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Food fresh and hot when served. Good choice and not expensive. Drinks were not over priced and wine selection adequate.

I have always considered this restaurant as one of my favourites. However, we ordered a take away for delivery and was shocked at how bad the food was. It appeared everything had been re-heated and was so dry. Even the salad that came with the duck was withered and stale. The duck itself was purely charcoal skin was rock hard with hardly any meet to shred. Everything ended up in the bin!!! The following day I sent an email to them and have had no response or apology we have been a customer of there's for years but we will not be ordering from them again.

What a delight to find this lovely restaurant by chance when we were staying in the local area.We rocked up on a sat night to find they could fit us inland it was so worth it.Everything was great from the king prawn chow mein,to the boiled rice. Very pleasant helpful staff and not a long wait. We will defo visit again when in the area.

First time eating here .. Ordered for delivery, was lovely. Affordable, and portion sizes were very generous. Was told about an hour or so wait, came about half an hour earlier. Will definitely be ordering from here again and paying the restaurant a visit also. Very happy customer.

I have gone a few times over the years with my family and have had only a good experience. Nice staff and good value for money. I am surprised by some reviews here as I have never had any issue.

Extremely poor service asked to try the house red before we bought a bottle and the waitress laughed and shook her head. The only mistake we made was not walking out at this point, extremely unprofessional service with mediocre food that is massively overpriced. Left feeling annoyed and a really bad experience. I Would never recommend anybody eating here, far better places in Warrington.

As we live close by we use it a lot for a takeaway but have had sit down meals too. Great atmosphere and lovely friendly staff always smiling and cheerful.

The Starter was perfect however the long wait for what was a pretty poor close to disgusting mains was more than disappointing. The Honey Glazed King Prawns tasted nothing of honey and in fact were more like they had warmed up mayonnaise all over them. They were tough and disgusting. The Duck In Orange Sauce was overcooked and even difficult to cut no less chew

We have visited the Padgate Rose now 3 times, having had it recommended by staff at The Farmers Arms. Twice it was just my partner and I and once we went with my Son and his girlfriend.

Amazing food!! The takeaway is just as delicious as the food in the restaurant. The staff are so lovely. The service is great. Definitely the best Chinese in Warrington. Best takeaway Chinese too. Worth every penny.

Thought we would try padagte rose after numerous good reviews and recommendations. We ordered a takeaway 3 meals in total only one could be described as edible (lemon chicken) the other two disgusting (duck and cashews & Sweet and sour chicken) avoid at all costs!! literally never had a Chinese meal of such poor quality. Very disappointed

We had a takeaway from here the other night and it was not up to the usual standard of this place. The chips were dry and more like crisps than chips,(looked like day befores warmed up) the egg foo yong was great the mushroom omelette was ok but the other meals were not up to standard.

Positives first, the food (when you eat in) is always lovely (take away is terrible don’t bother) and tonight was nice. We eat there regularly however tonight I realised a couple of things worth knowing if you’re visiting:

We ordered a take away from The Padgate Rose last night and were not happy the chips were old and rubbery the honey and soy sauce was watered down the crispy shredded beef was soggy the separate honey rib, the egg fried rice and the meat spring roll were barely edible but better than the rest overall a Very disappointing meal not worth the money we paid. Meals in the restaurant have been great in the past now we have been told its under new management? It shows.

Eat in or takeaway, this is a popular restaurant which gets busy at the weekend when booking is recommended.

Eat here from time to time with friends - food is always spot on and you are well looked after by the staff

I'm not a Chinese food afficiando but we got an excellent value vegetarian banquet (soup, starters, main, fruit, pudding, tea/coffee) for £15 each and Stella at £3.50 a pint. Job done.The service was very friendly. Linen table cloths, reasonably well spaced out tables (not all in rows).

I used to think this was the best Chinese around but they seem to have resorted to a lot of frozen items like the spring rolls, dim sum, prawn toast, and the vegetables etc unfortunate it's really put me off going again.

We have been regular customers for years but tonight opened my eyes to the lack of respect for customers. I phoned to place an order for delivery, as we do on a practically weekly basis and was told it would take two hours. I asked about collection time and was told 40-45 minutes, so placed the order to pick up. I arrived to the restaurant 50 minutes later. Although I had not been asked for a name or address when ordering when I gave my order the waitress recited my address, clearly familiar with our regular order. Having checked with the kitchen I was informed they hadn't started to prepare our order. I asked to speak to the manager who couldn't be bothered to come and speak to me, not interested in listening to customer complaints. Very disappointing customer service. The waitress thought that by informing me that it was a "Saturday night" and "it's always busy at weekends" would justify the poor service. Frustratingly we wasted time being loyal customers, went elsewhere and had a very enjoyable meal with excellent service from the staff. Won't both with Padgate Rose again.

We visited on new years eve and had the pre set christmas banquet. The combination platter was swimming in grease, the salt and pepper chicken I ordered for a main meal was so over cooked the chicken had vanished!! Finally to top it all off the 'chocolate log' on the dessert menu was none other than a cadbury's mini roll cut in half with a scoop of ice cream! just like you'd expect at a childrens tea party! The waitress dropped a glass bowl of ice cream down one of our party's back and found it very funny! I will not be returning here, it was disgusting!

Visited this now benchmark Chinese restaurant in Warrington in a party of six.A cordial greeting and prompt placement at a suitable table, is a given here. New additions to the menu, such as King prawns in hoisin sauce, keeps the appeal of a frequent return.Reasonably priced soft and alcoholic drinks adds to the value for money factor. The portions are plentiful and the food is always well presented and thoroughly cooked. Definitely worth a visit.

We have just arrived back from Mexico today and decided after a nap we would order our tea from here tonight we ordered on the phone as usual being a customer for over 10 years when our order came it was minus the rice so we rang up and asked about the rice they said they would send it out asap it took over 40 mins to get from padgate station to Fearnhead we started to eat the soup only to find a piece of metal scouer fragment in it after taking a photo of it I sent it back with themWhen they brought the rice back and the manager said he would ring us back still waiting for that call think that it is the last time we will go there which is a shame as it's always been good and spoilt my meal

Use mainly as a takeaway food is always excellent .salt and pepper ribs are beautiful . Aleays get it delivered which takes at maximun 45 minutes drivers are always friendly

Just met up at the Padgate Rose in Warrington for a Family Reunion and what a night!!!Service and Food were fabulous!! Chinese food at its best in lovely surroundings!!Very generous portions from a superb menu!!Great night!!!

My friend went here recently to find it was shut, he searched online which revealed that the environmental health had closed it due to ants on a chopping board and other nasties in the kitchen.

A really big thank you to the Pagdgate Rose Chinese Restaurant. We booked a table for eight of our family, we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The food was exceptional and service fantastic. The bill was less than we expected, a nice surprise. Will definitely be going again!!!

Having used this restaurant for many years I am very disappointed with the quality of the food we were served. I had my usual which is salt and pepper chicken and the rib combo and it was obvious that the chicken was a bit iffy. The ribs were hard and had a strange aftertaste and there wasn't much meat on them. My fiance had beef in honey spicy sauce and hers was fine but mine was pretty nasty. Very poor and expect better, given the price

As a family we have used this restaurant to eat in with friends and family and also for takeaways for several years. Tonight having collected a takeaway costing £36, got the food home and dished up. Finding a hair in the wonton soup was bad enough, but then taking a mouthful of Singapore noodles only to get a piece of sharp thin wire stuck in the roof of your mouth was not pleasant! Having removed that and taking another mouth of food and having another 4 pieces of sharp wire in the noodles was just shocking! On phoning the restaurant and explained the problem, I was told by one lady that she knew what it was and that was pieces of the wire brush that is used to clean the wok! I was offered another portion of food which I declined as I was discarding all of the food I had purchased as I had no confidence that other items would not also be contaminated. I was then offered a £5.80 reimbursement, were they serious......yes they were! In my opinion customer satisfaction and rebuilding lost trust, should be a priority, I was offered £10! This was also declined. I will not be using this place again and would say that this is the worst meal and worst customer service I have ever experienced!! Dreadful!

This restaurant is only 5 minutes walk from our house and its only recently we visited for a family meal. Why did we wait. Great food and excellent service. service is at the right pace so you never peeled rushed and giving you ample time to enjoy the food on offer. If you like your Chinese food, you can't go wrong here.(they also offer a take out / delivery service)

We have been coming toThis restaurant for years .. Not as often as we would like since moving! We have never been disappointed ! Tonight was no exception! Beautiful fresh food , excellent service with a smile every time! The temperature was in the 30s tonight and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, providing fans and reseating us to a cooler area without us having to ask. Would definitely recommend as a regular haunt for authentic Chinese food lovers!

A party of 11, no pre-booking, spent a fabulous evening. Although a round table was not available, tables were arranged in such a manner that we could all converse with each other. As well as individual starter choices we ordered dishes "for the table". these were plentiful, warm and tasty. The best Crispy Duck I have had in a restaurant for a long time. Main courses were served in a timely manner, were extremely delicious and huge quantities! I would like to comment on dessert but was too full to try anything, although I did manage to force down a fortune cookie!! A good selection of worldwide wines and at a reasonable price. Staff were knowledgeable (dietary requirements), and attentive without being intrusive. All in all a great experience. Well done!

A lovely night spent here for my daughters 21st birthday, very attentive staff, food was beautiful & plenty ...they even provided a birthday cake & all staff sang Happy Birthday.visited a few times since & always had lovely service & food.

14 of us booked in for imperial banquet at £26 ahead! at 6.30 pm which was booked on 28th April. Frist of all they sat us on round tables and some of us were sat between two tables and there was no where to put a plate, then when we asked to be moved to be shouted at by waiter every course was wrong and we all still were waiting at 9 pm for our main meals. the service was very poor and the staff didn't seem to know what they was doing. this place as gone down hill it was a waste of £400. didn't even get to do the birthday cake as we was discussed with the food and service.

Just had a meal with friends and this is our first visit to the Padgate Rose.We had the set menu of which you can pick your own main meal.The food was well above average and all dishes where very tasty. Service was great and friendly ,all food that was ordered came on time without any hiccups!We where not rushed and therefore we where allowed plenty of time to digest and to socialise.The internal decor was typical Chinese and the restaurant is clean and well kept.Although the overall concept is not 'wow ' cutting edge this to me would be classed as a homily little restaurant and doing a good job of it.

Second time this year and i should of learned the first time. Never again. I like a chilli or 2 , this was very over done salt and pepper chicken. I was polite on the phone but I think I've upset someone with the amount of chillies in one box .

We went in the week expecting it to be empty, it was three quarters full , we had a lo vley meal , the food was hot , tasty, and plentiful, the staff were very attentive and polite, defenatly recommend and go back. And the toilets were very clean! Something not seen around these days.

I've used this place for takeaways for years but over the last 3 months things have gone to the wall, an order was placed after they told me it would be an hours delivery time, the delivery took 2 hours.Then next time I decided to collect my order, they said it would be ready in 15-20 mins so I arrived 30 mins after placing the order to find no order ready and about 6 other cheesed off customers stood about waiting for their order, whilst I was waiting one chap came back in as his order was wrong.I can see this place going into liquidation unless they sort the issues out. I now will go to another establishment for any future occasions.

Had my 21st birthday meal here yesterday (2nd Jan 2016) and I can honestly say it was absolutely fabulous. From start to finish the staff were very attentive to any requests or requirements that myself, my family and or my friends had, they were quick and very patient especially when there was 13 of us! Even on the way out all of the staff came out to thank us for visiting and wished us a safe journey home. The food was incredible, utterly delicious. You just couldn't beat it! They made my 21st birthday memorable and I will definitely be returning again!

Twice now I have used them but this is the very last. They have no idea if time. Tonight I ordered two meals 5.30 was told 45 mins. After 3 phone calls I finally got the meal 6.50. The same happened a couple of weeks ago half an hour turned in two hours. Never again will I use padgate rose or recommend them to friends. I'll go back to the good reliable China rose in culceth.nat least the meal is ready when they say.

If I was to mark this takeaway experience out of 10, the Padgate Rose Sunday banquet got a disappointing 5, very greasy and the beef dish was tasteless.

Visited for a birthday celebration with a large party of 10.I use the Padgate rose regularly for take away’s and have a sit down meal probably only once a year on average.The service was up to its usual good standard as was the food.1 bug bear of mine is people who come in to collect there take away literally stand over your table whilst they are waiting for their food. It is a little off putting having a meal as someone is stood next to your seat drooling at you meal. There is a small area by the bar that people usually wait at so maybe the staff could politely ask that take-away customers do not stand in the seated restaurant area. I appreciate this is difficult due to the restaurant being so small.

This is by far the best Chinese I have had, we have eaten in and had takeout and both as good, admittedly delivery can take a while during busy times but well worth the wait. When visiting the in Laws a stop of here is a must.

This restaurant is located on a through road between Warrington and the A574. Due to its location, there are in,y a couple of parking places outside, but there is a large car park just down the road at the doctor's surgery. Wheelchair access is a bit difficult as there is a step up through the door and then another door into the restaurant. Once inside, it is only a small area with a number of tables quite close together, so not ideal for wheelchairs. The toilets are upstairs, so unfortunately it's not a disabled friendly place.The staff are exceptionally pleasant and very keen to ensure you are enjoying your meal. The food, either eat-in or take away is above average for this type of restaurant and the prices are reasonable.
